"Thank you, Mo." He muttered as he moved to grab some of the marshmallows inside the bag, quickly popping one into his mouth - not even bothering to cook it. How typical for the kid who exudes coldness to prefer eating anything that was cold for most people. But in truth, Damian did just want to eat it raw since he wasn't intending on staying for very long. Simply to ask innocent questions. Make sure no one got harmed in the process of the campfire.

Damian shifted when Daea spoke. "I'm glad. Please, take your time to recover." Though, others seemed eager to jump right into their questions and it didn't take a sharp eye to see that she was starting to get more and more uncomfortable with the amount of attention that she was receiving. Like others, he would have wanted to ask more about it - mainly the prevalent question of why the unclaimed were being blamed and what happened to her two companions.

"We understand. We shouldn't have crowded around you. Sorry-"

Damian stopped and the temperature continuously dropped as every alarm on his head was going off. He spun around and Geronimo was gone from his seat and there was screaming. He quickly snapped his head to the side and he could see the chaos unfold before him in snapshots. Laura was already yelling at them - manticore in the camp. Followed soon after by Geronimo's body being flung back by the manticore. Damian wasted no time as he wrestled the air around him to his command and sent it towards Geronimo, cushioning his crash from the campfire.

The manticore spoke, taunting them. Damian could barely see that Cid was there as well. The manticore seemed to think that they were its prey - easy pickings. Damian kept his eyes trained onto the manticore, hands forming a ball as he began to run a few simulations in his head on how to best counteract the beast.

He could see a flash of flame tackle the manticore and he immediately understood who it was. It didn't take long for Tyler's voice to sail through the air to reach his ears and by the time Tyler landed, Damian had already removed himself from the area and had sent a gust of air that counteracted the speed Tyler was coming at and allowed him to land onto the ground without much harm. The shots that Bonnie had taken seemed to only anger the manticore even more as it began to swipe and thrash around.

"Keep your distance! Don't risk it!" Damian yelled out to the campers who were preparing to attack. There were only a few who could take on a manticore's hit after all and he'd rather minimize the injuries created by the monster. Damian took off his necklace, the saber growing to full size as soon as he took it off but he made no move to charge forward. Thick spikes of ice began to form around him and he sent it towards the beast's face, to at least momentarily throw off its sequence of attacks to give an opening to someone else.

Blair froze. Everything was more or less calm and suddenly a freaking manticore came out of nowhere. With each step it took watching them, sizing them up to see who were the strongest (and likely most stringy) and who were the weakest (probably more succulent) Blair could feel his heartbeat.

Then utter chaos ensued.

Even though the manticore wasn’t targeting him he felt himself open his mouth to scream but nothing came out. He heard Bonnie yell to find Chiron and thought that was a brilliant idea. Let someone much more experienced and immortal handle the monster! He started preparing to sprint to the big house when he saw the rude guy from earlier still on the ground. Was he unconscious? He needed to be taken out of harm’s way.

Getting Chiron should be top priority.

The manticore let out another screech as it battled the other campers so close to where that guy lied on the ground. What if something happened to him that could have been prevented? It just wouldn’t be right to leave him. Blair wondered what he might have been thinking out, if someone thought at all while they were unconscious… maybe some other epic zingers he could’ve laid into him.

Getting Chiron SHOULD be top priority.

Blair’s heart started to pound as he felt his adrenaline starting to kick in. He sprinted into the fray towards Mo and grabbed one of his arms, draping it around his shoulders. The guy felt like deadweight but he was in no way strong enough to carry him.

“Come on sweet potato! If any part of you can hear me, we’re kind of in danger of dying right now!” Blair yelled as he slowly tried to pull him away from the campfire.

The manitcore screamed as it was attacked by the other campers that shook Blair to his core. His nerves jumped with fear. He wanted to drop sweet potato and save his own skin but he used every ounce of willpower he had not to run. Instead he kept his eyes focused ahead at the vague shape of the big house.

Mo jolted awake, sputtering blood. Blair gripped his shoulders and started dragging him. Barely conscious, Mo grabbed Phanos from the grass and coughed again as Blair said, "Come on, sweet potato! If any part of you can hear me, we're kind of in danger of dying right now!"

Mo looked up at Blair with incredulous and unreasonably resentful eyes. "Really? I didn't notice. And don't call me sweet potato EVER again."

With great effort and pain (and with Blair's help), Mo managed to push himself to his feet. He stumbled a bit, coughing again. Gods, that hurt. Mo cleared his throat and looked at Blair.

"Thanks... Aquaman," he finally struggled out, before looking down the sights of his crossbow, "You should probably help them now. You're one of our big guns. Call your dad. Make a flood or something-"

Mo heard that piercing noise again. What was that? Ugh, and the whispers again. Mo had to focus. What were they saying?

Unbeknownst to Mo and Blair, the manticore was having some difficulty fending off that other camper. Seeing the two injured stragglers, the manticore (like any reasonable predator) decided to cut his losses and take those two. It slammed its tail into the demihuman fireball, then charged feverishly towards the already dying teenager. It lunged as it got closer.

...HIM

...USH...

Mo grit his teeth. His head felt like it was splitting open, and to be honest, it probably was, with the impact of the manticore. But he strained to listen.

PUSH HIM.

Without thinking about it, Mo suddenly shoved Blair as hard as he could with his foot. He used the momentum to kick himself off of Blair, launching him the other direction. Less than a moment later, before Blair even had time to process what Mo had done, 50 tons of deadly poison and divine fury rushed past them with whirling claws. Mo and the manticore made eye contact, both in bewilderment at how he dodged a manticore while heavily injured.

Without changing his confused expression, Mo unceremoniously shot the manticore in the face.

[/div] [/div] [/div] [div class="content"] "Ugh... this hurts..." That was what Cid wanted to say, but he instead said "JODEEER!" in pain. Cid knew he needed to make a summary of the events. Camp defenses have been broken, a monster was attacking his friends, he was injured in his left hand and had other bruisers around his body. On top of that, he had a mayor injured on his side where the manticore poisoned him. Yes, that was the worst feeling, the poison felt like a thousand knives at a thousand degrees sticking into his body. The only reason he was still conscious was a series of "THERE'S A MANTICORE IN THE CABIN!", "Someone tell Chiron! " and "Damian watch out!" Cid was hearing everything without being able to help at all. "What the hades am I doing? Come on Cid! Get up!" Yelled to himself. Trying to stand up was a nightmare, every single part of his body screamed in suffering. "AAHGG!" He managed to get into his knees Get to safety! Find Chiron! "Damit sunshine, don't risk too much" He tried to smirk, but just a weird grin was placed. "Keep your distance, don't risk" Even the cold boy seemed motivated, this surely has to be serious. "I'm an embarrassment for Ares cabin, an epic battle is going and I'm not part of? Come on!" Taking the last bit of strength Cid stood up. And something snapped inside of him. Time stopped. There wasn't any noise. He couldn't even feel his breath. "I... am... a son of war. Born... on the battlefield. Raised... to step on the enemies." Cid didn't move a flinch for a couple of seconds. His sight was lost in the sky and his mind was completely white. The poison was still there, his veins were taking a green color, but fine red steam was emanating from him. Deciding to just ignore the pain, Cid walked in a few and strong steps to where the battle was taking place and led a yell to everyone "GREEKS!" his voice echoed through every peer in the area. "STOP SHITING IN YOUR PANTS AND START FOCUSING! YOU DAMN BASTARDS!" Cid saw Mo shooting at the manticore. The bolt of his crossbow hit on the beast's forehead. "YOU DAMN NERD! THAT OVERLY UGLY CAT HAS A FUR LIKE OUR ARMOR, AIM TO HIS FUCKING EYES OR SOME SHIT!" The read steam was now everywhere in the campfire, as the blood mist in the battlefield. Leona, leader of the camp and daughter of Zeus was missing. Blair, the son of Poseidon didn't have the capacity to lead a battle. Cid was the next in the line, as a son of Ares. About his personality... he gets really into the character of an ancient spartan commander. "Damian, protect us from the spines. Sunshine, the same as Geronimo, aim to his weak points. Tyler, watch where you shoot your shit, and shoot your shit!" He directed his voice to all the campers around the area. "Everyone, find a weapon and a shield. surround the manticore!" He then saw Daea. The look on her face had something, a scar on her soul. "You help the most by not interfering at all." His focus went to Blair. "Are you gonna keep pissing your pants or do will you do something? Keep the formation!" Behind a corner, Cid spotted Laura. "Little gremlin! I'll need that sword I gave to you earlier, do you still have it?" Finally, he talked to the manticore. "Hey, you fucking horrendous being of Tartarus. Better start meowing now your prayers to whoever gives a shit about you, you just don't disturb into the Camp Half-Blood expecting wide open arms. Let's do it, Greeks!" [/div] [/div]

Laura had kept going there was no way she was going to be anywhere near the fight going on, but she didn't really make it much further than she had started. Running was not something Laura was good at, well Laura wasn't good at most things half bloods were good at, thus she wasn't going to be the one to get Chrion or Mr D before someone else. Laura assumed that the others didn't expect her to get them, or do anything she likely was going to be forgotten as soon as the excitement stopped. At least the others were now ganging up on the monster and dealing with it, Laura didn't care so much that others now stood a better chance of not getting hurt or killed, but that the monster was more likely to die. Laura was left panting and out of breath beyond the light of the campfire and hopefully at a safe distance from the fight, she wasn't going to go much further than where she was. Laura soon sat down, right where she was. It would likely be an odd sight a half blood watching other half bloods fight a monster and not lifting a finger to help, but anyone that knew Laura would agree this was the best place for her.

Then Cid called out to her for the sword the thing she had dropped way back in her.... why was it in her hand. That was odd Laura hadn't thought she would keep something like the sword which was useless to someone like her, but she had. Laura could only assume it was some half blood instinct to take a weapon even if her using it would only get in the way more than actually help the fight. " here" Laura said holding the sword out for Cid still sounding as annoyed as back in her room with having to talk to another person.

She couldn't believe any of this crap. Raeliana within her dark form had no choice but to follow Siri and her fleshbag sisters to this god forsaken area after jumping from motel to motel. It was fortunate that their father finally died like she had hoped, it gave them inheritance and a chance to live with their aunt. Their aunt clearly had more money, so it was easy living. Then the stupid cow had to go and get herself blown up, much to Raeliana's dismay. They ended up with the old woman who was their grandmother and she even died a useless death. "Whatever...more inheritance money for me. Just gotta kill these future 16 and pregnant stars and I'll be the sole child to earn it all." Raeliana thought to herself while walking down the path. Siri was of course leading the way with her sense of direction or whatever. That's when they passed this weird archway and felt like a boundary was crossed.

What followed after was just utter...chaos. There was some weird monster that could only be compared to some idiot child's nightmare running rampant. Raeliana just stared in utter disbelief, that monster had great killing potential. Her eyes darted between Siri, Aria, Ymir, and then Corona. If she could push one into it which would it be? The answer was obvious, Siri would have to go first. She was by far the most irritating, there were so many times in which she tried to kill her by adding razor blades and rat poison to cakes she baked the wench, yet every attempt failed due to the cake being thrown out to to bad ingredients.

Besides that fact, Raeliana looked at the chaos in front of them with her sisters, "I have no idea as to what's going on. I have the feeling that I should but nothing comes to mind. I'd suggest the younger siblings hide with Aria, while Mavis and I go over to the scene and see if anyone needs help!" Ooooh boy she'd trip this banana looking idiot into this thing so quickly. She couldn't wait to watch Mavis get eaten alive while staring her in the eyes. Just watching the betrayed expression on her face as her innards were ripped out for the world to see. She wanted to feel Mavis' soul leave her eyes. "Well...any better ideas?" ( Mikkel The Pickle Mikkel The Pickle Haolia Haolia Noctis9S Noctis9S Chrose Chrose StageGirlMagic StageGirlMagic )

This entire time Ymir had followed suit along with her sisters. She usually never bothered to stay up to date with whatever was happening. Instead, she preferred having alone time with her real friends. Of course, she was saddened by their parents' deaths, but after the 3rd deceased relative, it got boring and repetitive to sit and be sad. She felt like she was forced to cry, it was expected of her as a younger sibling... But after a while she had grown to accept it in her way, she saw the beauty in it! A corpse withheld the memoir of the lost person, how they were up til that point constantly changing and shifting. In a way being dead was your final form, your ultimate self, having accomplished everything with your life.

But her Ymir's thoughts were getting ahead of herself. A creature was doing something and it had to be stopped? that was at least what she could make off of the information given regarding the situation. Rae was spouting something about ideas but Ymir didn't care. She stared blankly with a mopy pout on her lips. "Just do whatever, tell me if you need my help-" she said calmly while fiddling with a tot of hair. She pulled out a doll and proceeded to toy with it a little while waiting for one of her sisters to start barking commands at her as they usually would do in situations like these.

Mavis looked around at relief as she felt the change in the atmosphere, and took in the beautiful surroundings; were they finally at this haven, that she had been chasing for so long? She had heard of this place, this “camp half-blood”, from eavesdropping on a conversation between a man with oddly bent legs and a child, around her age right now. It was supposed to be a refuge from monsters that wanted to eat them. When Mavis first heard this conversation, she wanted to laugh. Monsters weren’t real, she thought, at least not the ones that they were talking about…

But then, weird things started to happen, more weirdly-legged men started to appear in her neighbourhood, and the creatures that prowled outside looked… different. Soon enough, their father died, and then their aunt… At first, Mavis didn’t want to believe any of it, and denied even the smallest chance that something weird was happening. Not to them, not even to their neighbourhood. But once their grandmother died… well, there was no chance that she was going to stick around and let her sisters be next.

She shoved those thoughts apart as the monstrous manticore came into view. It was huge and looked strong, but with the five of them, it shouldn’t be a problem.

“Why don’t we all work together to defeat it? If we’re all together, we should be able to take it down no problem, right? And the sooner we get this beat out of the way, the sooner we can explore the camp more! I’ve heard such great things about it! ” And with that, she unsheathed her sword, and ran up to swipe at the beast and jumped away, hoping the distract it so that her siblings could prepare their attacks and finish it off.

Raeliana watched as the fool moved away from her and into the manticore, this made things quite bad. She was too far away from the manticore and Mavis to make anything seem like a pure accident. Mavis was quite the lucky cow, she gets to live to see another day. "Stupid wench." She meant that for Mavis but said it in the direction of the manticore. With a little bit of focus, she made the manticore's gravity lighten. This was good at first, it meant that it could make much faster movements. Until the gravitational pull of the Earth on the manticore was almost entirely gone. There was little to no atmospheric pressure on it, causing it to be pulled by another source of gravity. This other source happened to be the moon so the manticore slowly began to float up. It was only going up 1 inch every few seconds. "Anyone want to take a hit before it gets too high?"

Ezequiel slept in peace, his time spent in whatever game they were forced to do this day tired him out and he felt like he deserved not only this time of rest but also this time of solitude and peace. His dreams were filled with nothingness, a place devoid of thoughts and reason. It felt not only chaotic but peaceful. It felt loud but silence was all there was. Ezequiel traversed the realm in his dreams, it felt so full yet so empty. In the distance, however, a bright light shined with great power. It drew Ezequiel closer and as he approached it, he felt his body begin to weigh down, though that did not stop his advances. As he got closer to the light, he found that the source of it came from a large hole. Reaching the edges of the almost chasm-like hole, he looked down before instinctively backing up.

"Why did I..."

His words were cut short as something began to rise from the hole, it's presence feeding the emptiness in the surrounding area, and yet still, it felt so full. It's presence brought terror, yet Ezequiel felt emboldened and calm. This something kept rising, and Ezequiel's view of it becoming more clear as it eventually escaped the chasm. The shape of was non-descript, hard to even describe, it looked almost empty but Ezequiel could tell that something was different, something was moving within that emptiness, many somethings. The emptiness began to shift as the space under Ezequiel began to quake.

And as Ezequiel fell to his back, the something screamed with something so loud, and so vicious, it drowned out the silence that permeated around him.

- - -

Ezequiel awoke in a cold sweat, his body trembling, not with fear nor terror, but with concern for his wellbeing. When he arose from his bunk, he heard a loud sound, something akin to an animal's voice or roar, only for it to be followed by a myriad of screams and yells. He hardly focused on what the screams or even yelling were about, he instead focused on the fact that something disturbed his slumber. He wasn't concerned now, not even worried he was instead, annoyed.

As he stood up, the floor creaked as he took his heavy steps towards the door. He exited the cabin, looking towards the campfire attempting to spot the disturbance of his slumber. And as his eyes adjusted, they fell onto what he figured was causing this disturbance. A beast of many types, something Ezequiel had never seen nor heard about. But like others around him, he was shocked to see the creature. But unlike the others, he was not filled with fear, nor taken by horror or fright, instead; he was not only annoyed but irritated now. Walking with heavy steps, the floor creaking even harder, he crouched beside his bunk bed, reaching under it to acquire his weaponry of choice.

Unlike his peers, his weaponry was not conveniently collapsable. But, they still fulfilled their purpose and Ezequiel loved them dearly; considering their history. Ezequiel moved with vigor, his left hand gripped tightly to his bow; Artifact Failnaught. A quiver strapped tightly to his back as he exited his cabin and stood off the porch, letting his eyes adjust before making any moves. It's best to wait, patience is a virtue. Where did that come from? Ezequiel didn't care, his eyes were fully adjusted, now he could make his move.

He examined the scene as best as he could, his first observation being; I can't shoot an arrow with this many people around it. Ezequiel wasn't sure about his bow and arrow skills, he'd fired some during camp training but he knows that there are much better archers in the camp, he was at best, a fourth-rate archer with a third-rate bow. Then, Ezequiel came up with an idea. It was stupid enough, and crazy enough, that it could work. There's a lot of variables going into this, so I gotta make sure everything is just right.

Ezequiel drew his arrow, it's collapsable form releasing, the arrow tip becoming much more drill-like. As he aimed the arrow upwards, hesitation filled Ezequiel. Was he sure he could do this? Is there any possibility that this will work? No, it will work, trust yourself. Ezequiel felt his hesitation leave and assurance replace it. Now. He released the arrow, it flew into the sky and as it did, Ezequiel dropped his bow and reached out towards the arrow. Ezequiel felt as though he grabbed it and he managed to steady it as he hastily moved it into position.

And now, finally, the betrayal. Using his other free hand, Ezequiel forced his hand downwards, releasing a blast moving the people surrounding the side of the beast away from it. This allowed for the final act; the destruction of the beast. As his arrow-filled hand gripped tighter, he moved it as though he was stabbing into the side of the beast, though, he relied on gravity and the acceleration of the arrow using a mathematical shape called a cycloid. By using the shape of a cycloid (A cycloid is the curve traced by a point on the rim of a circular wheel as the wheel rolls along a straight line without slipping), it maximized not only speed but force as it flew at breakneck speed towards the side of the beast. This was the grand finale of his plan, what many paragraphs had led up to, all he needed was for it to hit its target. Then could Ezequiel finally feel fulfilled? Perhaps. Probably not.

Raeliana watched in awe...is what any normal person in this circumstance would do. Unfortunately for her, she was far from normal, it took everything she had to avoid giving off a face of utter disgust. That power...no one person should have that kind of power. At least, unless she had those levels of strength. Everything wasn't right, she knew it when she was young and it was further engraved in her now. Watching a singular arrow rip and tear into the manticore, stirred something inside her. That's who she was supposed to be, yet here she was. Was it their birth? Was it their effort? Was it simply talent? Nothing she had within those brackets could even measure up. She was born to a poor family with 5 other siblings that outshined her. Mavis was the eldest, so she was heavily relied upon. Aria was the second eldest and potentially the most interactive sibling. Corona and Ymir were younger troublemakers who were routinely spoiled and doted on for simply being born last. Where did that leave her? A child no father could love, even if he were home full time. Half the time she was one child, the other portion of the time she was another. Neither had any memories they could recall of the others. That meant joyful moments, life lessons, and unforgettable love could only be divided evenly between the two personalities with 4 siblings already in need of such facilities as well. That or all of such moments could be spent on one personality only.

With one being born more pessimistic than the other, it was obvious which personality the strained and short timed father would choose to spend all his best moments with. She was a problem child, an existence too tedious to deal with head on. Therapy wasn't even financially within the question. What does a child who's confused as to why they have gaps in their memory and think their father doesn't love them do? They reject all forms of affections. For if their parent doesn't love them, they're convinced they're forever unworthy. Then the day she discovered her powers, everything changed. Each of her siblings had full access to their own powers, yet here she was only able to tap into her powers at certain times of the month. Her life wasn't entirely her own...now the one thing that made her feel special was also robbed from her. This other half of her she discovered in the pocket of her father's wallet. All white hair with a smile she couldn't ever muster. Then his face...that face she could never forget. The face she could never see with her own eyes, her father's smile. She had never seen the man smile at her before, she never understood why she'd blacked out, and that was when she knew why. Another her, a her everyone in the house wanted full time. She could feel it, she just knew. If they could snuff out her existence permanently to keep this other half of her alive they absolutely would. Not only did her father not love her the way she wanted, she was convinced her sisters held no love for her as well.

It was then she knew she was the only one she could rely on, not even her other half. The family that knew of her good side would eventually try to make her stay permanent. She had to kill them...it was the only way for her to carry on. She just didn't want to die...it was scarier than not knowing when she'd get sudden gaps in her memory and wake up somewhere else. She grew up poor and miserable in a home she wasn't wanted in...nothing about the situation was fair. She had to make her move soon...she had to make it fast. That's why before her dad left for work in his car that fateful day she...BAM.

The sound of the manticore hitting the ground due to her losing focus shook her out of her train of thought. She swore to never think back on those times of weakness. She couldn't look back now, she was in too deep. She needed power, that's all she had to focus on. She deserved that life....yes...if she could just get rid of all her obstacles then everything would be okay. She'd have enough power to change the world...to rid herself of her other half and change herself.

With all the ruckus going on, Ymir decided that now would be a great time to expand her circle of trustworthy allies, by that it meant temporarily giving life to one of her dolls for the time being. She felt the presence of a fallen comrade... well comrade is maybe exaggerating a little, she hardly knew these people at all. So rather a fallen person. She proceeded to pull the soul and direct it straight towards her doll which was neatly placed on the ground, a summoning circle began to invoke around the doll as the essence flourished into it, its buttons for eyes were glooming with light, the process was emitting a resonating sound, it sounded like an ever so calm scream repeating over and over until it finally stopped in an instant. It went quiet, with only a slight buzzing sound around the doll which would be deafened by the sound of a breeze. The doll slowly turned its face towards its new master, Ymir greeted her new friend with a wide smile, quickly rushing to her toy to greet it with a warm hug, such an embrace one would expect from a mother to her daughter. "Ah, my dear child! You're just so CUTE!" she exclaimed in a painfully shrilling voice, along with a scream that matched the characteristics of the words before. She quickly started to unravel her tea kit and sat up a cup for herself and the new and improved Mr Dolson. She put on a presumptuous British accent (despite never really having heard anyone speak with that accent outside of that one time she saw downtime abbey). She poured a cup of cold earl grey for them both and made the doll drink it, even though when it tried it just got soaked into the fabric and ran down its small, plush body.

GM Plot Post

Camp Half-Blood

As the beast fell Chiron and Mr. D arrived with a few other campers that likely told them about the attack. The sight to behold was nothing short of terrible. The Hephaestus cabin was in a slight state of disrepair but the Hermes Cabin ended up suffering the brunt of the damage as the manticore’s body fell through the roof before dissipating into dust. It was already the most populated cabin by far but now they would have nowhere to sleep. As for the campers themselves, many had minor cuts and scrapes but it was nothing a little ambrosia couldn’t heal. Cid and Geronimo were hurt the worst of all and would likely take a bit longer to recover.

“Camp Half-Blood isn’t safe anymore, I fear,” Chiron said solemnly, “It was only a matter of time before something like this happened.” He seemed to know something more but he didn’t elaborate. Chiron paused, deep in thought, his face darkened before letting out a sigh. “The quest Leona Redfield, Frances Bellerose, and Daea Nimitiz were given two months ago must be continued.”

The campers erupted into yelling. No one understood why the same quest would be given again, especially at a time like this. While many of their friends might have went missing, why was it so important to find them? How did it correlate to the fact a manticore just broke into the camp and attacked?

“SHUT UP!” Mr. D yelled, causing everyone to do just that. Chiron gave him a look but said nothing. After a brief silence he continued.

“This quest will take much bravery and leadership to ensure you succeed,” Chiron said, “I believe Cid Castellana displayed these qualities and more by not only finding the manticore, but rallying everyone together to defeat them. We place our faith in you to complete the quest and find Leona and Frances, or at least what fate may have befallen them.”

There was no envy from the majority of the campers that Cid was assigned a quest. To them, taking the same quest that likely got Leona and Frances killed and scarred Daea was nothing to be jealous of. Instead they pitied him and anyone who he asked to join him. The fire turned a dark purple that barely licked the wood of the bonfire.

“Before you speak to the oracle and who will join you, you need to rest,” Chiron said, “In the meantime, we must search the camp. The manitcore took a life and we must give whoever has fallen a proper funeral.”

After that the mood in camp was rather sullen. Cid and Geronimo were taken to the big house to rest overnight and the Hermes cabin bargained and or pleaded with other cabins to let them sleep in their cabins until theirs was repaired. It didn’t take long to find the missing camper, a son of Athena. He was attacked so viciously only his siblings could identify him by the shoes he typically wore. They didn’t have a personalized burial shroud for him so his body was covered a plain, black cloth as they burned him on the pyre. By the time everything was done and taken care of it was quite late, though there was no sign of Cid returning from the big house. Everyone went to their cabins, tired and weary from the events that took place. The Athena cabin among others would be mourning the loss of their brother and friend for the days to come.

Damian nodded at Cid as he had given out the instructions. He bit his tongue as he began to manipulate the air currents around him, remembering the step by step processes he and his fellow aerokinetic companions. There weren't many of them around, and with the recent disappearance of the one who had the most control over hers, Damian's own training had slowed down. Nevertheless, what he needed was to simply concentrate. At least he wouldn't have to fight in the front lines, and everyone knew that Damian did better when he was in support rather than being on the offense. Especially against beasts that are as big as the manticore.

And arrow whizzed by - striking the manticore. With the combined efforts of everyone, that arrow had been the last straw as the manticore was sent back and crashed into the Hermes cabin and wrecking it. Damian's heart dropped. That was where the unclaimed kids had stayed alongside the Hermes kids - without that cabin, there would be nowhere for them to stay at. With the rising suspicion of unclaimed demigods such as himself, Damian figured that it would be difficult to find new housing for them.

Mr. D and Chiron came not soon after and explained that the circumstances pointed to having to return to the quest of Leona, Frances and Daea... where only one had come back - scarred so badly mentally that she was completely different. Cid had been assigned to lead the quest and to choose those who would join the suicide mission carefully. Damian wondered if they could ever find the two who had disappeared, as well as all the other campmates of theirs. Truly, there were so many things up in the air and many seemed to protest against it - but were quickly shot down. They would find out the connection soon after, Damian was sure.

There was one thing that had caught his eye - the appearance of an unknown factor. Damian knew everyone in camp, considering his constant presence. He called Tyler over with a sharp whistle before making his way towards the stranger.

"You." Damian called out to the small dark haired girl. "Who are you?" He looked around for a moment, wondering where she had come from. Surely she had come because she was a demigod - she wouldn't have been able to pass through the barrier otherwise. He wondered what Chiron would do for this. "You came at a bad time for the camp. But this is Camp Half Blood, home to demigods. You know, gods for parents. It's why we have powers and stuff, which I assume you already know of." He paused. It would be wondrous to have received them on a normal day because his vision was swimming a bit.

"My name is Damian by the way. The camp is welcome to all demigods. Where's your satyr?" Damian assumed that they had arrived with the typical satyr who would have led them to the camp after they had unlocked some form of their powers. Satyrs can smell a demigod from normal people after all.

"Ah whatever. Let's get you and your... companions somewhere to stay at for the time being. I can show you around camp later on."

It was odd to take the newcomers to the Demeter cabin. It wasn't the most ideal but Damian knew someone there and they thankfully had accepted to stay there. Damian had bid farewell and told them that he would swing come tomorrow morning to give them a proper rundown of the camp itself. With that, Damian had set off to sleep himself, after attending the service for the fallen Athena boy.

And just as promised, Damian was waiting for the new siblings come morning - dragging Tyler with him once more to both interact with the group better and to balance out his own cooling ability.

fter the Hermes and Hephaestus cabins had been destroyed, Adrian, along with the other unclaimed campers and actual cabin residents were left trying to find other cabins to take them in. Some cabins had some beds available; even Blair had opened up the Poseidon cabin to take displaced campers in. Yet, Adrian felt like he wasn't worthy of their generosity.

During the fight against the manticore he did nothing. He wanted to help, but in a blink the monster was dead. He felt useless. Yeah, the monster was defeated anyway without his help, but someone DIED. Maybe if he'd been more alert, maybe if he hadn't hesitated, he could have stopped it.

Whoever his godly parent was, they were probably disappointed in him. The last thing he wanted to do was sleep in their cabin and risk ticking them off. Adrian decided he'd be better off sleeping outside. He wasn't a stranger sleeping out in the open air. He and his grandpa used to sleep on the roof of their house during the summer when it was cooler outside than inside thanks to the AC always breaking.

He fetched his sleeping bag from the rubble of the Hermes cabin and set it up on the beach to try focusing on the sound of the waves instead of the son of Athena who had died.

Tyler Westerian

"Thanks, D." Tyler said to his twin after landing safely to the ground, he quickly got up and watched the scenes unfold before blasting varying degrees of fiery blasts from his hands. He heard Cid giving out instructions to the other campers, showing true leadership that he quite admires towards his constant sparring partner. Truth to be told, Tyler was getting increasingly frustrated at the fact that there are already quite a number of them ganging up on the beast but still, it is able to move.

Then came the sound of an arrow passing by, killing the Manticore. Finally, it was done. It felt like a dream though, that there was no casualty with the ones in the fray. Tyler couldn't truly focus on Chiron's words, his head wandered over to how and why the Manticore was in camp in the first place. Unless...

A whistle, one that he knows, he turned his head to find Damian approaching an unfamiliar face. He came just as soon as Damian introduced himself. "And I am his twin, Tyler." He gave a small smile and a simple wave to give an approachable vibe towards the newcomers. "With have been better if we had met under more casual circumstances, but this is just another day at Camp."

Tyler followed Damian in leading the new people to the Demetere's Cabin and bidding them a "See you tomorrow." The next day comes around, sleep was slightly scarce for him. Evident as to how he was yawning while next to his icey brother, the heat he gives off give the atmosphere around them a more desired temperature. The moment the five siblings get out of the cabin, he'd give a cheery good morning to them.

Daea Nimitz

The sudden and violent emergence of a Manticore took Daea entirely by surprise. The noise and chaos left her mind reeling as she suddenly stood up and took several steps away from the group. Taking a deep breath she could feel the muscles all across her body starting to weaken. Taking a deep breath she willed herself to remain standing before turning and walking away several steps. The noise, the screaming and commotion finally took its toll on the girl. Being unable to stand among the others any longer she began to jog away. As time passed she finally managed to squeeze herself out of the hiding place she found for herself, the chaos having ended and things seemed to finally be back in working.... or at least a stable order.

Slinking back to the camp she took her time walking despite the chill in the air. Stopping in front of the pyre to warm herself she stared at the remains of the burned body. Despite the smell she didn't seem overly offended by it. Tilting her head she began to sway back and forth as she stared into the burning mass. Letting out a long sigh she finally turned, making her way back to the partially ruined cabin. Stepping through the wreckage she managed to get to her room before swinging the door open and going inside.

Running her hands through her hair Daea took a deep breath before sighing rather loudly. Things were already unsettling, and it hadn't even really begun yet. Her mind swam with the information she had, though despite knowing what was going on she still didn't know of the order in which it was all going to happen. The feeling of uncertainty made her feel unsettled, but knowing that everything was going to come full circle made her feel alittle better. Though, despite it all she still felt empty like a shell with no substance. Taking another deep breath she collapsed down onto her bed before allowing herself to completely pass out.

Everyone Everyone around the fire.

Blair looked at Sweet Potato incredulously, “I don’t have my dad on speed dial! Besides I would never-“

Before he could finish what he was saying the Manticore took a newfound interest in them and charged the two. Next thing he knew he was face first in the dirt as he was used as a human launch pad by Sweet Potato. He deeply regretted being the bigger person and trying to be helpful, since clearly he didn’t need any help other than to pull off some cool parkour move.

If that wasn’t already bad, then Cid, previously his least favorite person in camp, started screaming at him, “Are you gonna keep pissing your pants or do will you do something? Keep the formation!”

He was doing something! Or rather, was, but past tense was not present tense was (there’s a difference ok?). And what formation? Now the manticore was being the least of his concerns as he started to get more annoyed by his fellow campers. It may have been the effect of the red mist but he didn’t notice it as he was too busy thinking about how much he hated Sweet Potato and Cid in the moment.

“Fine you want a flood? I’ll give you a flood,” Blair muttered as he got to his feet.

Blair could feel a strange sensation in his hands that started to spread up him arms. It was akin to feeling a numb static as if your arm or leg fell asleep but it was as though he was feeling every small drop of water in the air. The water pulled closer to him, making the air noticeably more humid until-

Twunk!

The manticore was shot with an arrow and crashed in the Hermes cabin, also knocking Blair out of his state. He looked around curiously, unable to recall the past few seconds.

------

Blair couldn't sleep.

There was a lot to process and he didn’t really have the peace and quiet to properly sort through his thoughts. He offered to let others stay in the Poseidon cabin since there were quite a few beds and only him to use them, but he quickly realized he wasn’t really used to sharing a space with others. It was hard to relax enough to think, much less get some shut eye. Instead he ended up going to the stables.

Usually when he had a lot on his mind he’d talk to the horses since the only other person that could understand them was Frances (to his knowledge). Being the son of Poseidon they initially treated him with deep respect, always using titles like ‘your grace’ or bowing (he asked them to stop but they wouldn’t), until one day he decided to bring them carrots.

They didn’t like carrots.

They liked sugar cubes.

Blair didn’t think sugar cubes were good from them so ever since then they’d refer to him as ‘your καρότο-ness’ (you can probably figure out what that means) and make fun of him all the time for it. He thought about asking Chiron if sugar cubes were healthy for horses but Blair thought that could be perceived as racism or something considering he was well… part horse. It was best not to take the risk.

He knocked on the wooden door frame of the stable before entering, “Hey everyone! Are you sleeping?”

A few of the horses and pegasi looked up, clearly sleep deprived while the others continued to sleep. One black and white Pegasus looked at him incredulously, “If it isn’t your καρότο-ness, here to bless us with his wonderful bounty of carrots! We are truly blessed.”

Blair pressed his mouth into a thin line before saying, “I actually don’t have any. Or sugar cubes.”

Another caramel colored horse piped in, “That’s an improvement.”

The horses and pegasi started to neigh loudly as they laughed at their joke.

Blair cleared his throat and continued, “I actually wanted to ask if any of you know about what happened. A manticore attacked the camp.”

The black and white Pegasus answered, “But of course your καρότο-ness, we do have ears and eyes. Far better than your slightly cross eyed ones.”

“What!? My eyes aren’t-“ Blair began but was drowned out by more loud neighing.

A smaller white Pegasus spoke up, “We did see where the manticore came from, before it attacked that boy.”

“Snowball!” Blair exclaimed as he ran over to the Pegasus, “What did you see?”

Snowball answered, “They came from the trees. That’s all I know.”

Blair smiled, “Thank you. I’ll definitely give you sugar cubes.”

The other horses started nickering in protest, but their thoughts were too fast for Blair to sift through. However he was more focused on this newfound knowledge as he ran out the stables towards the forest.

----

Blair paused at the tree line. Did he dare go into the forest? At night? Where a manticore just seemingly came out of for no reason? He knew the forest like the back of his hand, but maybe he could see if anyone wanted to come with because they’d want to investigate too… not because he was scared. He came back to the cabins and snuck up the Demeter cabin, peering through one of the windows (and probably looking really creepy) to see if he could spot Tyler or Damian.

Mavis pulled herself up from the ground; what was that attack? Did it come from the manticore? But no, it didn’t do… Before she could finish off that thought, a giant arrow flew by, felling the large beast. Where… who… what really was this place?

Suddenly, a centaur arrived, and slowly talked the people around her down. He said something about a quest, something about casualties… was this place really the haven that she was told it is? She stood off to the side of the campfire, looking at the brochure that that one oddly-legged man, the one guy that dared approach her after she casually ignored the others, had given her… She had declined it at first, but after much pestering from him, she had to take it. She decided to re-read it again, make sure that she was in the right place. The brochure simply said what it always did; Delphi’s Strawberry Service held a summer camp to those experiencing odd, supernatural occurrences such as monster attacks. It was to act as a shelter from them… Well, the centaur guy did say that the camp wasn’t safe anymore, or something like that, right?

Unfortunately, people had to come up to her, snapping her out of her analysis; two similar looking boys, probably brothers, approached her, towering over her with their height. At least they seemed friendly?

“My name’s Mavis,” she replied courtly. “It’s nice to meet you guys.” As soon as the brown-haired one, Damien, asked her about a satyr, she refused to answer; were… were those the weirdly-legged guys she kept rebuffing? She tried to put aside that thought for later; she was finally at this refuge, if the brochure and Damien were telling the truth… And then there’s the fact that she’s… descended from a god? Like, that Zeus guy that they learned about in school that always seduced people? That… that did explain a few thing about her, but… really? Was this really what was happening? She refused to believe it; there had to be another explanation. She could believe that satyrs, centaurs, even manticores existed, but gods who constantly had children with humans? That was a bit too much…

She tried to keep a neutral expression through all of this, even smiling a bit when the blond boy, Tyler, introduced himself. Nonetheless, the countless doubts about what was truly happening bubbled up in her mind as the two led her to a cabin, filled with the fragrance of a lush forest. Well, at least it was… comforting, to say the least. After she said goodbye to them, she quickly claimed an empty bed, and tried to fall asleep. She really didn’t need any more interactions, any more questions, today.

It was a rather dreamless sleep until margining started to draw near, that was when Mavis started to dream. Blurry colors and sounds clouded her mind, a feeling akin to being underwater, until with a flash of light everything became sharp. She was standing on a beach. The sand was a dirty brown color and large rocks littered the shore. The ocean was a deep black stew that sloshed angrily against the shore, each wave cracking like lighting on the sand. Though it was just a dream the sea spray could be felt stinging and the wind bellowed and screamed. Mavis instinctually raised up her arm to guard against the elements, and moved back, closer to the shore. She shouldn’t be here, she needed to find shelter from whatever was causing this storm.

Across the water there was an island with a lone building. By seemingly looking at it she was able to travel across the water onto its shores. Upon closer inspection it looked long abandoned; the wooden walls looked bleached and stripped from the long days it spent in the sun, yet somehow Mavis knew it was a trick of the mist. She moved the mist away, trying to uncover what was underneath, to find…

Sunlight streamed in the windows, accompanied by the smell of a fertile forest. The birds were chirping, the sound of the ocean was far gone. Mavis blinked a few times, making sure that she was in the cabin, that everything she experienced last night… all of it wasn’t just a dream. That she was in a camp, supposedly for descendants of gods, or something. That there were more people like her, who had supernatural powers... After reassuring herself that this was not yet another one of those specific, vivid dreams, she got up from her bed, got ready for the day, looked out the window to check the weather-- only to catch the gaze of a young boy staring through the window. What… was this how they greeted new campers? Mavis backed away from the window, and sat back down on her bed. She’d decided that she’d wait for Tyler and Damien to… knock on the door. It probably wasn’t a good idea to look outside the window for them.

Damian was lost in thought while they waited in front of the cabin, as he typically was. It was either that or he was falling asleep while standing... which also would be expected from the resident ice boy. He was beginning to nod off every now and then, only to jolt awake. In the strings of coherent thought that ran past his mind, he wondered what had led the manticore to the camp. And how it had gotten through the barrier without anyone knowing. Surely, they had maintained the barrier and that no one had tampered with it... or at least, no one tampered with it to their knowledge. But then that would lead to the question of why. What was the goal with this? To mindlessly slaughter demigods? If it was only the manticore in play, then that was definitely the answer.

He opened his eyes again and let out a grumble. This wasn't exactly something he could solve while half-awake with no evidence on hand. He should probably take Tyler over to the barrier later, once they were done with Mavis, and investigate. The manticore had come form the Hephaestus cabin, from what he heard, and surely it wasn't in its manticore form while it was inside the cabin. Nothing was lining up. There were key pieces that they didn't know about. And Damian was practically dying to know. This manticore had laid waste to their cabins and had claimed a life. They had to be able to prevent this from happening again.

Damian idled around for a moment, looking towards Tyler. "You think she's already awake?" He asked his twin, but by the look on his face, the question was rhetorical. Because he was already moving to open the door of the Demeter cabin. He gave a small wave to one of the kids who were already up and already heading outside. Looked like the kid wasn't one of the people who suspected Damian of anything as he waved back and passed by both Damian and Tyler - shivering a bit when he passed the former and sighing in relief when passing the latter. Truly, the twins had a good way of balancing each other in terms of personality and in terms of power set. Their father must truly be something, if he was able to gift them two polar opposite powers.

He excused himself through the cabin where they pointed him towards the location of the new person of the camp. It wasn't long before he had finally spotted the dark haired girl who had introduced herself as Mavis. Damian had to admit; it was one hell of a coincidence that the girl had managed to find herself in the camp when they were under attack. Must have had some pretty bad luck. He wasn't going to blame her on the manticore appearing - with how Chiron had spoken before, that mysterious quest was definitely connected to the attack. Could the person... or group of people who were responsible for whatever happened to the trio, also be responsible for this? It definitely was possible. If they were some skilled demigod or whatever, then they could have easily snuck in a manticore... somehow.

Ugh.

"Good day Mavis, hope you had a good night's rest." Damian greeted with the usual nonchalance, escaping the stressful thought process he was going through. "So, we can start with the official-" He stopped himself when he had looked around the area and spotted someone looking through the window. He tilted his head to the side, wondering who it was, and began walking to the window. Oh. He opened the window. "Blair, I didn't take you for the type to peep." He joked, evidently with the small snicker on his face. "Did you need anything?" He questioned, wondering what the intention of the young boy was. He looked a bit nervous - then again, Blair usually looked nervous.

Bonnie retreated when and only when her quiver emptied. She withdrew to the back of the crowd where she re-fastened her weapon into a bracelet by breaking the bowstring and re-tying it to her wrist. Her attention was drawn back to the manticore crashing into the Hermes cabin, and a sudden pang of sympathy for those campers washed through her, especially for the unclaimed. They barely had a cabin to call home to begin with. Nevertheless, Bonnie offered to host ‘Cabin 7 Slumber Parties’ until their's was rebuilt, but the only issue was that the Apollo kids were known to be a little… much for some campers.

Her ears continued to ring from the encounter. It felt like she was listening to the world through a thick pair of headphones that played white noise at max volume. When Bonnie heard Chiron’s announcement, she really did hope she heard him wrong. ‘Cid going on that quest would be a death sentence... Oh, my gods Cid!’

Bonnie escorted Cid and Geronimo to the infirmary and spent the night there, seeing to their wounds, as well as hers. Bonnie gave Mo ambrosia and wrapped his injuries. He was in a lot better condition compared to Cid. To say Cid was beaten, battered, and bruised would be an understatement, but she did the best she could to help. Bonnie cleaned his face that was smothered in blood and bandaged his other wounds. Unfortunately, she didn't get the chance to attend the Athena-child's funeral. She was too busy patching up Mo and making sure Brawn for Brains wouldn’t die from poison or blood loss. Granted, she had help from the other Apollo campers, but as they trickled back to the cabin, Bonnie lingered in the Big House so late that she fell asleep hunched over Cid, reciting various prayers and hymns.

The next morning, she woke up with one hand propped under her head, acting as a pillow, and the other resting on Cid's bandaged wound. She woke up to a large mass moving near her head, and in her half-asleep, drowsy state, Bonnie yelped and pushed off to get to her feet, only to trip on her chair and end up on the floor. Dang chairs, am I right?

Mo only vaguely remembered sitting up when he awoke.

Mouth sticky. Probably the surprisingly sugary ambrosia and nectar that he was being fed. Of course... he needed medicine. He had been injured.

Stomach burning. And now we arrive at the injury itself, it seemed. Mo couldn't quite remember the circumstances or the reason behind it, but the manticore had pretty much mauled him. Mo was practically indignant that he was not, in fact, dead. After all, the chances of him surviving such an attack were so low that he thought it quite rude of reality to keep him alive.

Ears ringing. Not sure why. Any blood or adrenaline (or whatever this was) rushing to his head should have settled by now, now that it was the morning. Didn't make too much sense. Maybe he got up too fast.

Sky dark. Sleepy time. Or something. But Mo wasn't sleepy at all. Couldn't even fathom closing his eyes at this moment. The awakeness felt energizing; he could only describe it as taking a fresh breath of the cool night air through his eyes.

Pride stinging. Practically a conscious decision. Being unclaimed, Mo sure felt useless out there. Cid rallied the troops almost supernaturally - Mo even landed a crossbow shot as he felt the Ares-child's presence. But the bolt did jack-**** (as expected) and he passed out after it died. Mo was unable to do anything substantial to help.

Eyes drooping. Yeah, Mo figured, he'd be tired; if not from the injuries he was recovering from, then the exposure to divine food.

Glasses missing. Probably on the bedside table. Who cares.

Ears still ringing. Well, that definitely should have gone away by now.

Full consciousness finally returned to Mo. Against his better judgement, Mo shook his head. As anyone could have told him, it just made the matter worse. He got dizzier. Thankfully, most of the internal damage had been repaired. But he didn't get the worst of it.

Mo blinked rapidly to focus more quickly in the dark. Infirmary, as expected. Cid lay in bed, comatose. Sleeping in a chair next to him was Bonnie. Hm. Guess she had a thing for him. Never figured that.

Mo blinked his eyes again. Watch, a voice whispered through his ringing ears.

Mo frowned, deeply confused and worried. A second, spectral mist surrounded Bonnie, as if someone put a radiator nearby and was warping the image around her with heat. The mist shifted, and a transluscent image of Bonnie shifted her head slightly. The ghost Bonnie suddenly woke up, then tripped on her chair. In the moment, the spectral Bonnie accidentally elbowed Cid RIGHT in the injury. Mo scowled. It couldn't be... It couldn't.

But it was never bad to check. After extremely carefully moving Bonnie a few inches to the right (thank gods she was a heavy sleeper, or this would be hard to explain), Mo took a look at Cid. Thankfully, they'd been taking good care of him. Good. He was the de facto leader among the campers. It'd be rough to lose him.

The voie whispered again. "What are you doing out of bed, Mr. Kim? You should be resting."

Mo jolted and looked around side-to-side. Nobody. Hm. He could've sworn he'd heard Chiron's hushed voice. Coming from the left. In a staircase. Mo wasn't sure how he heard that there was a staircase, but he knew he was somehow walking down the stairs. Except... he wasn't?

Mo's eyes widened in bewilderment. His head was getting dizzy. Was he on stairs or not? It really didn't need to be this complicated. The boy finally grit his teeth and found a door nearby. Careful not to wake anybody, he quietly opened the door.

Mo stepped out into the hallway, noting the staircase going up. He had to talk to Chiron. He needed to get all these visions sorted out. What if... What if he was somehow causing all this? What if his godly parent was somehow a god of future visions and manticore-spawning?

But as Mo silently took a step on the first stair, he realized something. He'd been here before... or later. What? That made no sense. Against his better judgement, Mo looked to his left.

"What are you doing out of bed-"

Mo looked Chiron square in the eyes. The wheelchaired man looked back, surprised.

"Well, Mr. Kim," he said, "Not many can notice my approach when I don't want them to. Well noticed, indeed. But as I was saying, what are you doing out of bed?"

Mo took his foot of the step and blinked. He couldn't see Chiron's shocked expression, as he'd forgotten his glasses. Dammit. Most campers would have given a leg to surprise the old man.

"I need to talk to you," Mo whispered, "Since you're already awake."

"I'm always awake when I need to be," Chiron mused, turning his wheelchair and wheeling it towards his office. Mo followed him solemnly.

Mo entered the office. He'd been in here a couple times now, but never this late at night. The window streamed in moonlight, casting an eery square of paleness surrounded by darkness. Chiron snapped his fingers, and some candles nearby lit up. Mo sat down on the (always surprisingly) comfortable couch across from Chiron's desk. Chiron wheeled himself to position and leaned on his elbows.

"Is this about the attack?"

Mo winced and shook his head. Chiron definitely said that, but he hadn't opened his mouth once since he got in the office. And it sounded less like it came from him. More like... an echo of what had already happened. Or...

"Is this about the attack?" Chiron said.

Mo paused, then nodded. "Sorta. I saw Cid downstairs. He looks okay. But..."

The voice will say again, "Harper McCullen. He was the younger of the Athena children."

Mo squeezed his eyes shut. He knew Harper. He was a good kid. Sweet, and didn't mind that Mo was the human equivalent of a snapping turtle. One of the few people in this camp that Mo actually felt comfortable around. He was cordial to everyone. But nobody really paid attention to him, least of all Mo. If pressed, Mo couldn't even have remembered his name.

He didn't deserve to die.

"Cid will recover," Chiron sighed, "There is, however, one fallen camper. Har-"

"Harper McCullen," Mo hissed, as if the name hurt to say.

Even without his glasses, Mo could tell Chiron was deeply disconcerted now.

"Yes," Chiron continued, "He will be missed. His funeral pyre has already happened, but you may go to where it was and say a few words, if you were close."

Mo fell silent for a few moments. "How the hell did the manticore get in here?"

Chiron watched Mo curiously. "Some information is best left unshared, Mr. Kim."

Mo squinted at him to read his expression. Gods, he hated forgetting his glasses.

"Is there a plan? We're not just gonna sit twiddling our thumbs?" Mo asked.

"Cid will lead this quest," Chiron will say.

"Yes," Chiron said, "You were unconscious at the time, but I've announced that the quest from two months ago must be... revisited."

"And you want Cid to lead it."

"That's right," Chiron said. He leaned on his elbows again. "It seems to me you've developed an ability to read my mind?"

"Maybe," Mo replied.

"Pardon me?"

Mo cleared his throat. "Sorry, I thought you actually said that out loud. You were about to ask if I can read minds. And uh... I guess that could be it."

He buried his face in his hands.

"I... I can't tell what's going on with me. It happened during the manticore fight. I knew the camp was getting attacked even before the attack happened. I just... heard a girl screaming behind me. But she couldn't have, because I watched her leave the cabin afterwards. And then, when Blair was helping me up, the manticore was jumping at us - and I didn't see it, but I just... instincitvely pushed Blair out of the way. This is way beyond any demigod fighting instincts, Chiron. I..."

Mo looked up. Chiron was watching him intently.

"I think I can see the future?" Mo finished.

Chiron fell silent for a few moments. Even the shimmering, "future" Chiron didn't move. Mo averted his gaze to at least five different places in rapid succession - looks like Chiron's gonna spill that inkpot tomorrow afternoon, ruining some papers - Chiron's going to bang his elbow against the southwest corner of the desk - a bird will fly directly into the window and fall dead on the ground...

Honestly, if the mythical Chiron didn't know what was going on, Mo was pretty much screwed.

"Well," Chiron finally said, "I can't be sure. There are many gods whose domains involve seeing the future. There is, of course, Apollo, whose many domains include prophecy. I've known some children of Themis who had oracular visions in the past. But until you've been properly claimed, it's best not to make any assumptions. You don't want to insult anyone... upstairs."

The ancient teacher leaned back in his wheelchair. Chiron will give Mo a blindfold. "This ability of yours can be disruptive... so in the morning, we should try and find a more suitable way of controlling it. For now..."

Chiron reached into a cupboard. His wheelchair moved by itself towards Mo as Chiron tied a handkerchief into a loop.

"Wear this as a blindfold," Chiron said, "It should make your visions tolerable for the night. And go to bed, Mr. Kim. You still need rest."

Mo blinked a few times. He put on the blindfold. It felt as though someone had placed a wet cloth on Mo's feverish eyes. Mo sighed in relief. He stood up and nodded at Chiron.

"Well," Mo said, "Thanks for the talk. Even though I feel like you didn't give me any actual answers."

Mo swore he could hear Chiron's eyes twinkling mischievously.

"Walk slowly. You don't want to be waking Mr. Castellano or Ms. Kaplan."

Mo approached the door. He will struggle finding the door handle, which is a few inches to the right of where he's looking. Mo frowned as he reached a little to the right, finding the door handle. He smiled with a nod as he opened the door. "I think I'll be okay."

Mo returned to the infirmary, falling asleep in the blindfold.

[/div] [/div] [/div] [div class="content"] [div class="contentText"] When Cid woke up he was feeling kind of strange. For starter, his head was a mess and a terrible morning headache was threatening him. Second, his whole body was sore, like if he just ran, swam, climbed a mountain and fought a beast, all in one day. And third, he felt an extra weight over his abdomen. Opening his eyes, he looked down and saw blonde hair and tan skin. Bonnie? What was she doing here? Oh, right, she's an Apollo child, they are the medics of the camp. Cid tends to pay visits to them a few times per month with all the fights he gets into. He tried to move slowly trying to not wake her up. Damn, she looked so cute while sleeping. He wanted to rub her hair... wait, why he wanted to rub her hair? He shook his head trying to dismiss those thoughts, causing extra movement and scaring the girl that ended up tripping with the chair and then falling to the floor. "Are you okay, sunshine?" Wonderful. I should write a book on how to embarrass yourself 101 Bonnie thought. She spent a moment on the floor, just contemplating what just happened. Cid’s awake?!’ She sat upright and whipped her head around to the hunky mass of muscle on the bed. "Thank the gods Cid!" Bonnie jumped to her feet and threw her arms around him. “Am I okay? Are you okay?! You won’t believe how happy I am that my singing and dancing buddy is awake. I thought you were a goner for sure, but you had the best healer-in-training in camp working on you, so you were in good hands!” Bonnie was still on top of Cid as she rambled on, talking so fast that his brain in its actual state couldn't process a word. The hug felt good... painfully good. Actually, a bit more painful than good. It took a minute before she realized it probably wasn’t the best to press on his abdomen or chest. “Sorry about that,” she mumbled as she climbed off him. "Ugh. Thanks, sunshine. It's not the worse way to wake up." Said Cid with a small laugh. "Wait a minute, I should be mad at you! I didn’t give you permission to hurt yourself or go berserk."Bonnie huffed a bit and placed her hands on her hips. "You’re lucky I like you…"She took a seat again in the chair. "How are you feeling?" When he heard that she liked him a rush of blood went to his face. Sure, Bonnie probably didn't dislike anyone and probably what she meant was 'like friends', but those kind words made him forget any pain. Now, the question is: What was she talking about? Berserk? "Emm... sunshine, what are you talking about?" Cid raised his hand to his head and close the eyes trying to avert the headache. "I... I don't remember anything after... after the attack!" He looked at Bonnie with worry. "What happened?! How's everyone?! There was a manticore in the Hephaestus cabin!" He then tried to get out of bed just to stop halfway through due to the soreness in his whole body. Bonnie opened her mouth to answer, but then caught herself trying to stop Cid from standing. How he was moving in the first place, she had no idea. "Cid! We know about the monster. You’re in the infirmary. Please don’t get up, you’re gonna hurt yourself even more. Everyone’s okay except for… Harper… I heard the monster ate him whole." Bonnie lifted her hand to his reddened face, almost trying to iron out the creases in his concerned brow. 'He looks very uncomfortable. Is his head going to explode? He probably has a bad headache, but I didn’t know it could explode!!' She thought, beginning to panic herself. "Urm- Just- Where do you think you’re going in this condition? You need to heal up before leading a death quest… Sorry." Bonnie quieted down and brought her other hand up to cup Cid’s face as she began yet another hymn. Gods be damned if she didn’t do everything in her power to stop his head from exploding. Still trying to calm him down, Bonnie did her best to catch him up on the latest events. After a couple of minutes, Cid was again sitting in bed feeling better thanks to Bonnie's help. It was hard to believe that he acted that way and ended up leading everyone. Leona and he were always competing and challenging each other, she was his friend and best rival, it was fun. But she was the true leader and Cid have been always good with it. "So... did that really happen? Did I really say all of that stuff? For Ares's sake, I have to apologize to the others." Cid was now more relaxed after hearing Bonnie's explanation. "It's fine, you were just taking charge. I mean your leadership impressed Chiron enough to give you a quest." Bonnie folded her arms into her lap, calming down as his worry dissipated as well. "I'll continue the quest that even Leona couldn't handle..." Cid almost whispered. He led a sigh and stood up again from the bed. Then, with fire in his eyes, he directed his look to Bonnie, raising his fist. "Ha! I'm gonna complete this quest flawlessly and rescue Leona. Then, I'll win this round! If she's dead, I'll look for her in the Elysium and show her who's the best between us!" He took an unnecessary epic pose with the tip of his fingers in his left hand touching his face and pointing at Bonnie with his right hand. "And I'll need you in this, sunshine. Are you with me?" Bonnie couldn't help but smile at him. She loved seeing this side of him. Despite all the odds, he could always be positively competitive and so hopelessly optimistic. She could never let anyone this brilliant out of her life. Bonnie chuckled at his dramatic pose, "I'd follow you to the underworld and back, Cidiorno Giovanna. Hopefully, we won't need to go that far though..." She flashed him one of her signature 'Bonnie smiles' and ruffled his hair. "That's the right attitude!" Cid smiled back at her. Cid knew he could always count on Bonnie, and that was one of the reasons he wanted her on the mission, the other was very simple, she was a healer. One of Leona's biggest mistakes was having a unbalance team. He won't make the same mistake. He was the muscle, Bonnie was her back up, now they needed some brain. Looking to the bed beside his was Mo sleeping like a rock. Cid was surprised he didn't wake up with how loud he is. He should be really tired, he even had a blindfold. Cid walked to his bed and took the sheets under him and with a strong pull thew him from bed to the floor. "W-what the Hades?" Said Mo still with the blindfold. "We're going on a possible suicidal quest! Now, there's no time to waste. Come on!" Cid took Mo by his shirt collar, dragging him all the way to the exit "Let's go sunshine, We still need to find more people." "Cid?! Is that you? Hey, hey! What are you doing you dumbass?! Take me off!" "Oh gods, I'm probably going to regret this aren't I?" Bonnie gathered her things and walked out the Big House, following the spectacle of Cid dragging out a blindfolded Mo. The trio headed towards the other cabins when Bonnie immediately spotted a familiar figure near the Demeter cabin. "Why on earth is Blair spying on the Demeter kids?" Bonnie pointed in the direction of the cabins as she helped the two boys walk with their injuries. "Yo! Good morning everyone! Sorry about the trash talk from last night, I got... inspired." Cid announced his arrival as he always does. Loudly. "Why are you guys spying the Demeter cabin? Oh, right! Are you gonna prank the newbie?" "You musclehead! Take me off! I can walk by myself! You're choking me!" "Oh, sorry." Said Cid releasing his grip. He was so excited that he forgot Mo. [/div] [/div] [/div]

Tyler Westerian

Tyler stared at his brother as he watched him place a hand on the knob to the Demeter's cabin door. He didn't even need to answer Damian's question. He gave out a low chuckle and followed his brother inside, "Hey, Sheena. Lovely morning isn't it?" He greeted to the first earthy child they had encountered who greeted them back.

It wasn't long until they found Mavis after excusing themselves to the other Demeter children. "Mavis! Good morning, hope you've settled in quite nicely." He chirped with a lazy smile as he popped out behind hid twin. He was about to talk more when Damian had noticed Blair by the window. He quickly walked to Blair as Damian opened the window and grabbed his shirt.

"So it was you," Tyler dramatically said, acting like a a detective who has all the pieces together. "You're the one the girls in the Demeter cabin have been complaining about for days. What do you have to say about that?" His brows were furrowed accompanied with a frown before he snickered and let Blair go. "I'm just joking, kid." He said while ruffling Blair's head into a mopey mess.

Damian then asked Blair if there was anything he needed, to which Tyler added, "Yeah, were you looking for someone in the cabin?" He asked leaning to the window space. No sooner than later came came Cid's voice booming from afar. "Yo, Cid, Mo, Bonnie! Glad you're both up and walking. It was tough last night, how are you two?"

Blair saw some movement in the cabin, but he couldn’t see who it might’ve been since it was dark. He squinted to see if he could make them out when a large shape move in front of the window. He let out a screech as Damian opened the window and ended up falling backwards. He was not expecting that.

"Blair, I didn't take you for the type to peep."

Blair’s face turned red as he got back to his feet, “What?! No I would never try to peep on someone!” He saw a girl with black and blue hair behind Damian giving him a look. Blair started waving his hands frantically as if trying to wave away Damian’s verbal accusation. “I- I didn’t know she was there! It was a mistake, honestly-!“

Tyler grabbed his shirt, taking him by surprise.

"So it was you. You're the one the girls in the Demeter cabin have been complaining about for days. What do you have to say about that?"

At this point Blair looked like he was about to burst into tears. The twins’ teasing was almost lost to Blair until Tyler let him go.

"I'm just joking, kid."

He looked a bit puzzled at first until his expression changed to annoyance, clearly showing the gears in his head worked a bit too hard to figure it out. “That’s not funny!” Blair fumed, “I thought you actually thought I was a weirdo! What if someone thinks I am now because you what you guys said?!”

His eyes traveled past them to Mavis. He wanted to say something to defend himself but he felt too flustered to speak to her. His cheeks turned red before snapping his attention back to Damian and Tyler, ready to yell at them some more when Cid’s voice boomed like a car with a messed up exhaust pipe.

"Yo! Good morning everyone! Sorry about the trash talk from last night, I got... inspired."

Blair cast a sour look at Cid as he approached that deepened when he saw Sweet Potato in tow. To say he was upset would be an understatement; however when he noticed Bonnie his expression softened.

"Why are you guys spying the Demeter cabin? Oh, right! Are you gonna prank the newbie?"

His heated mood resurfaced before he caught himself. He didn’t want to make a bad impression to Bonnie (even though they knew each other for three years so she likely knew him too well at this point) and gave a small, forced grin, “I’m not spying! I-! I learned something I wanted to tell everyone...” He mentally added, ‘but you and Sweet Potato’. He would’ve rather they found some hole to jump in but he couldn’t think of any way to gracefully shove them out the conversation. This was going to suck.

Blair spoke looking at Tyler and Damian, “I found out how the manticore came into camp. Well, I asked a Pegasus and she gave me an idea of how it might’ve gotten in since it was seen coming from the forest.”

His eyes drifted towards Cid and Sweet Potato, his usual nervousness was absent from his tone as it was replaced with some snark instead, “I was going to check it out but I was inspired by everyone working together and decided it might be best if we went as…”

He faltered as he looked at Bonnie, “I mean… if a manitcore got in and was able to… you know, get the jump on Harper, who knows what else could’ve gotten in? We could uh, you know, check it out… together? I mean- if you’re ok with it!”
