i want to be happy. seventeen is the time to be with your friends. can't i try to be happy now?

today was officially the beginning of the school year. the day where every student finds out how well they did in the exams the year before; those that were confident knew they did extremely well but those who weren't, were definitely in for a surprise. the typical top six students were always the same, and vice versa for the bottom. everybody knew exactly who they were - the white tigers and real kings.

mi rae was late and it wasn't usual for her to be so late, but if it hadn't been for her choice to stay up, dancing on the school's rooftop, then she probably would have gotten there on time. rushing through the school's hallways, breathing heavily and looking as though she was being chased by a hungry bear in the jungle, mi rae stopped besides a wall to take a breather. there lie the results on the display, and luckily it wasn't swarmed by annoying students - though that was because she was late and wasn't sure it was worth it for the penalty point she'd earned from the principal's pet, soo-yong. her eyes scrolled down the continuous list of names and it wasn't surprising that
kim tae gan was number one, followed by sang ji eun. they had always been at the top no matter what and it was funny seeing students betting over whether or not tae gan would be number one for the billionth time. which he always was.

the brunette shouldn't have rolled her eyes but she could just imagine the huge grin on his, unfortunately, good-looking face and it irked her, a lot. as she finally reached the bottom of the list, she slammed her hand once against the display before turning around; walking off. crazy bitch... she was ranked one hundred and ninety-sixth out of the two hundred students that attended sevit. no matter how hard she'd studied, she just couldn't manage to do any better than the bottom of her class. she wasn't born brilliant like the high-achievers, who were not only clever - but rich, good-looking and have great personalities. life wasn't fair. she could just imagine the white tigers sat in their precious room, studying hard even though the next exams would be in weeks time.

finally, mi rae reached the storeroom where the real kings would occasionally meet up for meetings and dance practices - surprisingly, it happened to be placed right next to the white tigers classroom.
"hey guys, i'm sorry i'm late. i slept in." mi rae spoke as she walked into the room, strolling towards the huddled group. seating herself between jeong sin and hae ya, her eyes glanced at each and every one of their faces.

"alright. i'm ranked one hundred and ninety-sixth, you guys?"

O O H - A H H - H A G E

Hearing the buzz of her pink alarm clock, Hae Ya slammed it across the wooden bedside table it once stood upon. As she saw it fall to the floor the girl stood up and put it back again, suddenly remembering that today was the first day of school. Her face lit up- surprisingly, Hae Ya loved school. Not so much the studying and tests part, but the lunch and sports part. Food and dancing were two of her favourite things, so she would hate to miss a day of them.

The metallic-grey haired girl walked across her fluffy carpet to the bathroom in which was a granite tabletop with a porcelain white sink in the middle. Splashing water in her face to freshen her up, Hae Ya brushed her teeth along with her hair and made her way out of the door after *struggling* to get her school uniform past her waist. She was sure she'd gained a few pounds after eating all of that chappsaltteok. Woopsies!

Hae Ya walked into the school doors, greeting everyone she met eyes with in the corridoor with an ear-to-ear smile. Her father always reminded her when she was small that, 'Smiling to others makes you feel happy too.' She ran towards the storeroom, slamming the door behind her and began to do some stretches before sitting down and chowing down on a bunch of grapes she had put in her lunchbox the hour prior. Hae Ya threw a grape at Jeong Sin and then at Mi Rae once she entered the room. "Ah~ Mi Rae! I got 199th or 200th place I'm pretty sure. Can't really remember, but it doesn't matter to me anyways."

As Ji Eun made her way down the school halls she could feel a lot of eyes on her. Some were because of jealousy and others were her admires. She knew exactly why she was getting all those stares, it was due to her ranking second again. This was no big deal to her and actually annoyed her a bit. No matter how much she would study or try to get extra points with the teachers it was always Jin Tae who was placed first on the list.

While returning a few of the stares some would either look away or just keep on staring at her, which she would roll her eyes at. The attention didn't bother her much but she didn't enjoy it either and did her best to ignore it. Most of the people in the school saw her either as a bitch or a goddess and she found both equally dumb. She didn't see why people would waste their time looking up to other people instead of just focusing on their own life.

With a cold expression she went to her locker where she grabbed a couple of studying books. Although she was going to the White Tigers classroom she intended to study until the first period, which surprised nobody. When she passed the Real Kings storeroom, she scoffed a bit at the thought of having to be around them for yet another year. Most of them didn't bother her but some did like to annoy her or pushed her buttons without it being what they intended.

As she entered the classroom she looked around for a short time seeing that she was the first one to arrive. Smiling a bit to herself she put her books down on the table and sat down. She loved being alone in the room as she felt less pressured since no one but the members would enter. Then she picked up her phone and plugged in her earphones while playing Ailee's song 'Higher'. Grabbing her bag she took out a pencil and opened one of her books.

When the song reached the chorus she quietly began to sing along while keeping an eye on the door to make sure no one was nearby. Her voice gradually became louder as she got more confident no one was close and she began to tap her pencil on the book to the beat. A smile spread on her lips and she closed her eyes for a moment and just enjoyed the feeling of singing.

When the song ended she quickly opened her eyes and her expression faded back to her usual cold one. She bit her lip shortly and returned to her studying while concentrating on the questions only.

Kung Jeong Sin

Location: Real King's room Interacting with: Hae Ya (@Sunkissed), Mi Rae (@Despondency) Mood: Generally foul

While some individuals may have rushed to see their ranking when they entered school, Jeong Sin had continued walking past the crowd, blinking his eyes blearily. He had been dropped off the night before with his bags and had been told to "try harder", which he had taken to mean "don't embarrass us". His parents had been barely tolerable over the period of time he had remained in their house, always nagging him to do this or that, grinding his gears and making him inch ever closer to the idea of destroying something, metaphorically or physically. He could announce his troubles to the world, air his dirty laundry and cause his parents to be a laughing stock, their son seemingly working against carrying the family name. But Jeong Sin knew that the consequences would follow him too; his "friends" or at least his dance troupe would certainty leave him, and his peers would no longer fear him but instead see him as a laughingstock. No, he would have to settle for damaging his own reputation or building it up, depending on how an individual saw it. For Jeong Sin, striking fear into the hearts of others was neither an accomplishment or a failure. It simply left him to his own thoughts and kept anyone annoying out of his way.

Well, almost everyone annoying.

Hae Ya, a girl that was quite possible truly dim, was always and forever trying to irritate him. No matter how many times he had snapped at her during practice, bared his teeth at her face, and had glared, she was still the same. Perhaps she would never learn or perhaps she didn't want to. Whatever the case, while Jeong Sin knew that the rest of the group may not be truly dull in all aspects of life, he thought that Hae Ya might only have the redeeming quality of coordination and dance.

He made it to the storeroom and made his way inside, plugging in his headphones and sitting down. He shut his eyes and waited for the others to file in, hearing the sound of shuffling feet past the rhythmic beats and did nothing to acknowledge their presence until he heard a few loud bangs, voices, and finally opened his eyes, his mood already souring far too quickly and early.

The grape that was tossed his way did not help things and he turned only to see Mi Rae sit herself down. He glared at Hae Ya over the other girl's head, gave a sharp
tsk, and stared at the leader who had asked about their rankings.

"Not higher than you," he responded to her question. "I've long given up on that."

Location | Choi Household/Restaurant - Streets - Sevit Academy ~ Real King's Room

Mood | Neutral/Tired

Interacting/Mentioned | @FloatingAroundSpace [Kung, Jeong Sin]

Byeol Ho was described pretty sleeper was one of the people who hasn't snored in their life and had a pretty face when she was asleep. However, She wasn't pretty when she wake up with glare of knives and with her hair in a mess. Last night, she slept like a baby. Too bad today was the first day of school. As soon as her alarm chirped, her fist hit the alarm, almost breaking the alarm. Byeol Ho groaned and pulled the sheets over head, only for her little sister to wake her up. "Byeol-Ho..you're gonna be late." Ji-Hyun said as she shook Byeol Ho's arms. "I don't give a damn." Byeol Ho replied as she sat up with her eyes looking like if she came out of a horror movie. "I'll tell mom that you cussed~" Ji-Hyun singed. Byeol Ho slopped up from her bed and went to the bathroom to brush her teeth and get ready for the school day.

For the most part, Byeol Ho was excited for the newcomers to be afraid of her and to beat the infamous Jeon Min Hwan. She smiled devilishly in the mirror and spit out the toothpaste from her face and washed her face and went to shower. Drops of water dropped on her purple dyed hair which then landed on her skin. She almost feel asleep in the shower sleeping standing up. Thankfully, her mother shouted for her to hurry up.

Byeol Ho then grabbed her uniform from the closet and grabbed some tights from her drawers and a beanie from her endless pile of hats. Then she reached into her jewelry box and grabbed her "jewelry." Along with the clear stud Byeol had on her nose and her clear lip piercing, Byeol Ho cleaned her piercings and what not and soon enough had the piercings in her face. They were gold and seems to pair with her face nicely even if she was young. She then put on a matching ear cuff and soon enough went out of her room.

She walked into the living room where her siblings and mother were. Her father was cleaning the restaurant upstairs. "Here she comes..." Jimin said quietly as he continued to eat breakfast. Byeol Ho rolled her eyes and soon grabbed a bowl of soup and a slice of bread. Eating patiently, she realized that she woke about thirty minutes earlier than usual. She had enough time to eat, but maybe not to beat a certain someone. After she finished her food, she kissed her mother goodbye along with her siblings and walked to the enterance of her house where some sneakers waited for her. They were all black white and were perfect for dancing, and were even modified by Byeol Ho.

Byeol Ho tied her shoes on and walked on to the school listening to music as she did. As other walked, people whispered to echo there and stayed away from her, some even waiting for her to go away.

Byeol Ho smiled to herself and then kept walking, feeling proud as she walked to school.

When Byeol Ho reached the school, she walked in with the piercings, hoping she wouldn't have to take them off. Thankfully, no one said anything at all. She walked to the storeroom, where the Real Kings where she sat next to one of the members. As soon they started telling their places, Byeol Ho licked her lips and said, "201; [profanity that equals a female dog]!" Byeol Ho said in a sarcastic tone, soon chuckling soon after."What'd you get Jeong Sin?" She questioned him, her raspy and deep voice seeming just a bit careless about it. "Speaking of grades, How do you guys like my new piercings?" Byeol Ho said, flaunting them.

xxxxKyumin eyes instinctively went to the top of the list on the bulletin, and he spotted his name next to the number five. He was always fifth or sixth in the rankings, but he was still somewhat surprised to see it in print. He usually walked out of exams certain that he'd gotten more questions wrong than he actually had. Not that it really mattered. Sometimes Namkyung would yell at him for not doing even better, for not getting into the top three. However, he'd clearly done well enough for his father to pay for another year of school, he was standing there after all, and that was what was important. Kyumin let the tide of his clamouring classmates spit him out of the crowd and then began walking in the direction of the White Tigers' classroom. Several people smiled and waved as they passed by and one boy even ruffled his hair, but none of them stopped to talk and he was grateful for the lack of interruptions.

xxxxTurning the corner, he thought he could hear faint singing but the song seemed to end before he got too far down the hallway. When he entered the familiar classroom, Ji Eun was the only other person there. Huh, maybe the singing had come from the Real Kings' room next door. He could envision Hwan Mi Rae being a good singer. He set his things down at a desk a good distance away from Ji Eun's desk, but not too far away to where it would be obvious he didn't want to sit near her.

xxxxHe had been hoping more people would be present, but it was pretty early. Kyumin always arrived early at the beginning of the school year. Being surrounded by people made him feel safer, shaky as he was from the time he'd spent at home. It would be nice to see Tae Gan or Min Hwan, even Hyun-mi's presence would be much appreciated, but he was stuck with Ji Eun's cold silence for the moment. He wrapped his hands in the sleeves of his sweater and sat down in the seat, resting his head on his covered fists and staring out the window. He was wearing an oversized black turtleneck sweater that looked just a little ridiculous on him, especially if he hunched his shoulders, but it covered a lot of skin. He'd probably just get more comments on how cute he looked or playful teasing at most. Maybe a knowing look from Jin Tae.

"Min Hwan!" A loud voice interrupted Min Hwan's nightmare. Running, the entire dream had been nothing but running. Boy, did he hate running. He thrust his arm over his face, as the feeling of sunlight seared against his eyelids.

"If you're trying to wake me up, please try jumping out of the window first?" He insinuated, assuming that the voice he heard was his brother's.

"Is that really how you talk to your parents?" His father's disapproving voice sounded out, pulling the sheets off of his bed and dropping them on the floor.

"Dad!" Min Hwan's eyes snapped open and he sat up hastily. The older Jeon frowned and left the room with a last disapproving grunt.

"I don't even get a chance to redeem myself?" He asked his pillow, laying back down.

"Minnie! If you fell back asleep, I'll drag you to school in your underwear!"

"Quit calling me that!"
His muffled yell carried to the first floor where Min Hoon his older brother stood waiting.

"Fine, be late on the first day for all I care." The older brother shrugged casually, and smirked as the pounding of hasty pale feet started up and grew louder. Min Hwan made his way downstairs, a hastily tied tie and mouth filled with toothpaste. He crammed the yellow plastic handle into his mouth a few more times, successfully making a larger mess. Min Hoon chuckled, opening the door for his younger brother who was in the midst of fixing his tie and grabbing his bag at the same time. Min Hwan frowned at the taste of mint overtaking his mouth and spit the froth into the rose bushes which lined the sides of the house.

"Min Hwan. I just tended to those and now you're ruining them with those chemicals." His mother looked up for the bushes she was watering with a frown. He nodded apologetically and ignored the sympathetic expression on his brother's face. They walked to the car where their family driver was waiting.

"You shouldn't let them walk all over you like that." Min Hoon finally said, as their car neared the school. Min Hwan pretended to ignore him.

"I kn-"

"Please don't."
Min Hwan said in a long suffering way. Min Hoon shook his head and simultaneously rolled his eyes, it was an impressive feat. They both exited the car quietly, Min Hoon brooding and Min Hwan trying to ignore his elder sibling.

"I'm going to go check the rankings." He muttered, shouldering his bag and leaving Min Hoon who was catching up with friends already. There might've been a time in his middle school life when he envied his brother's amassing of friends, but the thought of all those people bothering him now made him cringe. Dodging all of the people , Min Hwan made it to the rankings to see that he'd made sixth once again.

"I'm not sure if this feeling is anger or happiness." A half smile grew on his face at the oddness of the sensation. He stood like that, seeing that his friends had all made it above him. But with Tae Gan, it was no surprise. He unconsciously let out a long winded sigh, slumping his shoulders and turning away from the board. The long walk to the White Tiger's classroom was a quiet one, Min Hwan opened the door to find the mildly awkward silence of Ji Eun and Kyumin settled into desks away from each other. He pulled a seat from another desk and settled it in front of Kyumin's assuming that the one next to him was for Tae Gan.

"Did you miss me? I know I did." He chuckled half heartedly, settling his head onto the back of his chair.

xxxxKyumin looked up whenever he heard footsteps but they either walked past or, on a few occasions, entered the room next door. When Min Hwan came in, he dragged his gaze away from his view of the campus outside and his lips curled into a sweet smile at the sight of his friend. "Min-min!" he exclaimed. He almost got up out of his chair to latch onto the other like a koala, but he settled for pushing his fists against his cheeks happily.

xxxx"Did you miss me? I know I did."

xxxx"Of course I missed you, you dumbfuck," Kyumin replied, casting a suspicious glance in Ji Eun's direction to make sure she still had her earbuds in and couldn't hear him. Upon closer inspection, Min Hwan seemed tired, and Kyumin reached out and pet his hair in an attempt at comfort. "You look like you've had a rough morning. Did your brother's friends trample you on the way here or something?" he joked.

xxxxKyumin hadn't missed Min Hwan's name under his; like himself, Min Hwan usually landed fifth or sixth so if Kyumin got fifth then Min Hwan got sixth and vice versa. In a way, he'd been hoping Min Hwan had done better than he had because he knew the other valued things like the student ranking more. However, Min-min might just get more bummed out if he mentioned it, so Kyumin chose to let him bring up the subject if he wanted to or avoid it if he didn't.

Jae Min didn’t even look at himself in the mirror this morning. He knew that he looked horrible. So horrible that even his father had said something about the bruises under his eyes and the weight he had lost. Jae Min had waved it off as stress over his exam scores which was true but not completely. Being in school kept him busy and when he was busy there was less time to think about the negative. Summer, however, was when he had time to think or “reflect” as his mother called it. It kicked his ass every time, leaving him looking like a druggie. And that’s the reason he had woken up at 3:00 AM and hadn’t been able to fall back to sleep. So instead of sleeping he got dressed and ate breakfast and then paced, waiting for the sun to rise.

When Jae Min got to the academy he practicality ran down the hall to check the rankings, shoving past his peers as they tried to greet him. All he could think was I have to be at least 190, at least 190, at least… His eyes quickly found his name and… 194. Fucking 194. He stared for a moment, trying his best to stay calm but then the rage bubbled up and he punched the board, earning him some surprised, “what the hell” glances. All that studying and stress for what? A 194? He couldn’t tell his parents that.

The walk to the storeroom where the Real Kings gathered was one filled with many muttered curses. This is not how Jae Min wanted the school year to start. Not at all. Before shouldering the storeroom door open, he took a deep breath and tried to think of at least one positive thing before going in. Getting to see his dance group was one, except for Jeong Sin, and then there was Hae Ya and Mi Rae and maybe he’d actually talk to Kyumin this year. Ok, he was ready now. He could do this.

“Ladies, gentleman. Byeol Ho.” Jae Min said in a way of greeting, winking at the purple-haired girl though he knew she wouldn’t appreciate it. He took a seat next to Hae Ya, leaning back on the heels of palms. “I missed you.” he whispered in her ear. He nudged her lightly with his shoulder then straightened as Mi Rae sat down and asked about their rankings.

“One hundred and ninety-four.” he said in a low voice, straightened his thick black-framed glasses, then added: “Not bad, eh? Better than a two hundred.” It was a weak joke and he only said it because he knew Hae Ya wouldn’t mind but it was all Jae Min could muster at the moment.

Looking up at Jeong Sin, Hae Ya shrunk down into her seat on the wooden bench like a

turtle. She reminded herself that he was incredibly agressive, which scared her, even if he didn't harm anyone physically. Hae Ya took off her school blazer and lay it on her lap. Usually students weren't allowed to customize their blazers but she broke past the rules a little bit, decorating hers with a few heart gems and badges of cats here and there. Her one wish was to embroid her name in pink cursive letters on the back of it, but she knew she'd probably misspell it or mess it up.
Suddenly hearing someone whisper in her ear while she was daydreaming, the girl shivered and looked to her right. "Jae Min! You scared me. Geez." Hae Ya hit his arm lightly and then laughed, looking up at a moth that was hanging off of a lightbulb on the ceiling. "I missed you too." She rolled her eyes at his joke but knew he didn't mean any harm by it- that was his personality. Flirty and playful, a bit like her in some ways.

Byeol Ho wasn't honestly completely filled with her score, but it was a improve the from the last 199 she had. "Real talk though, I got 195th." She confessed. Byeol Ho then stretched up, as she waited for the others, sleepily tapping on the table, trying to distract herself with anything but the places in the school. She then thought about her after school job and at her family's restaurant she applied to do and the music shoppe she had to work at as well. It might seem like a lot to the others, but gave her a lot of insight of the adult life. When the storage room door opened, she turned around, ready to attack if it was a Whit Tiger. Fortunately, It was just Jae Min.

"Oh, it's you." Byeol Ho chirped, going back to to talk to Hae Ya and to daydream a bit more about the day. Maybe Byeol Ho would beat up Min Hwan? Maybe try out some new moves out on her personal living punching bag? There was so much to do today and with the jobs she had after school, it seemed like she was booked for that day.

After the door closed, She turned around and half assedly listened to Jae Min. Jae Min or as she liked to call him, annoying. Min Jae was an okay guy and wasn't at all a bad person but Jae Min irked Byeol Ho a bit, but either way, he was overall okay person. When he finally greeted everyone with a smile, winking at her with Byeol Ho. She smiled sarcastically back, only to curse back "Dickhead" under her breath, hoping that Jae Min would hear her. Sometimes Jae Min made her angry, but either way, she always smiled in the end and forgives about the incident goes about in her life, the comment being a simply flirting, maybe. Either way, it seemed that she didn't care of it too much.

As he sat down, Kyumin had made physical contact already, pushing his fists into his cheeks..

"Yanno, ish kinda hard to talk like thish." He said, not trying to disguise the pushed together smile that formed on his smushed face. Kyumin greeted him with his signature swearing and he shrugged at the obvious reluctance concerning the other person in the room.

"I wouldn't be so worried, her earbuds are probably poking her brain how far they're shoved into her ears." He chuckled, hoping that Ji Eun's earbuds were in fact that far in her head so that she didn't hear that comment. His good friend commented on his state of appearence and he didn't realize it was that particularly easy to see how he was feeling.

"Whattt? You can't get trampled by an ocean. I was just up quite early watering the roses. You know me, the early riser." His grin was somewhat lopsided in his poorly attempted joke. he left it at that, not eager to discuss the recent scores. He and Kyumin never seemed to particularly compete for fifth, their scores just fell where they did. His ears perked up, as murmuring from the storeroom next door could be heard. He rose a skeptical eyebrow.

"For people who never seem to do well in class they sure are here early." Perhaps this wasn't the most stellar topic to touch on, as the two groups had tension thick enough to crash a car into, but Min Hwan wanted to distract from his obvious off mood that morning. Rankings always had an extreme effect to a student's attitude.

Sevit ???????Academy

The last door slammed shut in the hushed hallway as a bird flew past the open window which was Areum's dormitory. She woke up with a flutter of her lashes before she pushed herself up and leaned on her elbows. Her room was neat; there wasn't anything to compliment its appearance besides the typically - tacky decorations that were on her night stand. She checked the cherry red alarm clock before she rubbed at her eyes.

"Oh, no. I forgot to set it," she mumbled while throwing her legs over her bedside. Lifting her arms up, she stretched her back before pushing herself up in order to stand. She then bent down and touched her toes;
stretching is essential, she thought. After doing a little more of her morning stretch-outs, she dove towards her closet and pulled out one of three school uniforms. Having so many cost extra, but she hadn't minded and undressed in order to dress herself in accordance for another day at school.

It wasn't until Areum finished washing her face, as well as brushing her teeth, had she realized that today was
no ordinary day. Today was the day that she got to see Ji Eun after one month of Summer Vacation. Albeit, Areum had nobody to return home to, but it was nothing new. She practically explored the entire campus while she could before school began, seeing as Sevit Academy is the first school she has ever attended within the past decade. Rather excitedly, she gathered her belongings and flew towards her adjacent bedroom door across the hallway. It took less than two minutes for her to fix her bed, put her toothbrush and rag away, as well as grab her shoes from the miniature shoe rack beside her door. She tapped the grown twice with her toes, in order to ensure the shoe fit, before she shut the door and locked it.

"The scores!" She exclaimed.

No less than ten minutes, and more than five, Areum appeared in the Student Center hallway and ran up the back stairs which led to the classrooms above. Once she was there, she sighed and took a glance around before she took notice of her surroundings. The scores were just down the hallway, and she wasted no time in getting there. "Excuse me," she spoke softly. Knowingly, her voice is soft, but she rose an octave in order to make herself present. Those that heard her moved out of her way, and tapped others in response, and she thanked them with a respectful nod of her head and a gentle smile. The excitement buzzed around her, all displaying different emotions, and she felt bad towards the unfortunate ones that had such disappointing scores. She would had offered to help them, but she knew that was impossible because a vast majority wouldn't dare take up that offer due to the group she had belonged to. That and Areum had her own study group;
Ji Eun and Hyun Mi.

Seeing as Areum was the shortest, she had to raise her head and look upward in order to see her score. "Tae Gan is first?" She asked, and those that heard her unwillingly replied with excitement, "Ne!"
[1]

"Ji Eun is second!" She continued, and again they said, "Ne!"

"Hyun Mi is third!" She assumed, but she was greeted with a deadpanned silence. Looking around, her peers shook their head. Someone in the crowd even said, "
[2] Eonni, stop showing off. You know you're third this time." Whomever said that caused the crowd to mumble in response and Areum felt the heat rush to her cheeks and color them pink. "Hwaiting!" [3] She encouraged. With a gentle laugh, she turned around and excused herself from the crowd. Thanking, and saying good morning, to those that looked at her while smiling her way; after removing herself from the crowd she took a moment to remember where she was before she headed towards the White Tigers classroom. On the way there she thought hard regarding her rank, for she naturally assumed Hyun Mi would have gotten third. Areum fell asleep so many times on the Exam that she spent her entire summer studying in order to pass the one coming up.

Looking up, Areum heard a rumble of hushed, masculine, voices and gladly entered the classroom with, and threw a friendly wave
Kyumin and Min Hwan's way, "Joh-eun achim!" [4] She greeted them gently, bowing only slightly before continuing onwards. Looking towards Ji Eun's direction, Areum's face lit up as soon as she spotted her, "Eonni!" She called, waving her hands excitedly as she skipped giddily towards her. Of course, Ji Eun couldn't have heard her with her headphones inserted, so she immediately bit down on her lip when she noticed before she dipped her head in front of her. "Hello," she greeted warmly.

[1]
Ne means 'Yes' in Korean.

[2]
Eonni typically means 'Big Sister' in Korean.

[3]
Hwaiting is mistaken as a battle cry because it sounds like 'Fighting', however, it is a word that is often used for encouragement purposes.

[4]
"Joh-eun achim," is 'Good morning' in Korean.

Jae Min couldn’t help but grin when Hae Ya hit his arm, saying that he scared her when he whispered in her ear. She’s was exactly what Jae Min needed right then: someone who’s happy-go-lucky, carefree and of course someone who can make him laugh. A part of him wished that he could just be alone with Hae Ya and away from the people he’d rather not be around at the moment but he knew if he stayed, he’d get out of the funky mood he was in. That was what usually happened and it wasn’t like he could up and leave anyway.

Jae Min opened his mouth to say something in response to Hae Ya’s “I missed you too.” but he was rather rudely interrupted by Byeol Ho calling him a dickhead. If anyone else had said it he’d be perturbed especially considering his mood but since it was her, Jae Min found it oddly endearing.

He looked back at her with the most serious expression he could keep on his face and said: “I’d say the same to you but… you’re a girl. You don’t have a dick.” Despite himself, it was hard to keep from laughing. Yes, at his own stupid joke.

“But anyway,” he began, clearing his throat, “Where did you place, Chill?”

Jae Min glanced at the boy as he asked, barely looking at him. He tried not to associate with him which was nearly impossible. It was just the fact that he reminded Jae Min of himself. The parts that he wasn’t so proud of…

Hyun-Mi's hair was sticking out in all sorts of places as she sat up. Her usually neat and only slightly wavy hair was in a flurry of frills, tangles and curls. Honestly, her hair is one of the worst things in the morning. Next to well... The morning itself. She'd never been one to like the sun that would attempt to blind her with it's bright and mighty rays. Hyun-Mi sighed as she planted both of her feet on the carpeted flooring. The first day of a new year. A new year... Huh... Time really does fly. Hyun-Mi sighed at the thought of this, dragging herself to the bathroom to get ready for school at Sevit.

The brunette's bag was slung over her shoulder loosely as she exited the front door, the fresh air hitting her smack in the face. It's been about a week since Hyun-Mi's left her room. The holidays were always a time where she'd stay in and cuddle her blanket while binge watching movies. And it wasn't ever going to be different. Hyun-Mi started strolling towards the school, her hands clutching a navy blue cell-phone and her eyes glued to the device.

The Student Center was buzzing with people. But that wasn't much of a fuss to Hyun-Mi. A simple glare was enough to make the crowd part like the red sea really. As she made her way to the board, her eyes darted to the first six spots. Tae Gan... Check... Ji Eun... Double Check... Areum... What? Hyun-Mi swear her jaw hit the floor.

She wasn't in the top three.

This had happened before. But she'd swore to herself she'd stay in the top three after that unfortunate score. Not that she wasn't happy for Areum. Of course she was happy for Areum. But being 4th was like being 2nd, only even worse. So close but not there yet. Hyun-Mi's jaw stiffened before she sighed heavily, walking towards the White Tigers Classroom. She was upset. Of course. But Areum still deserved a pat on the back.

"Congratulations, Areum." Hyun-Mi said as she entered the classroom in her best, most encouraging voice. "Congrats to you too, dumbass." Her voice filled with more sarcasm this time as she lightly flicked the back of Ji-Eun's head. Why the sarcasm? Well, Ji-Eun always scored 2nd. So it's no shocker. There's really nothing to congratulate actually.

Location | Sevit Academy ~ Real King's Room

Mood | Irritated/Sarcastic

Interacting/Mentioned | @Ambivalence [Jeon, Min Hwan]

Byeol Ho grinned right after she cursed at Jae Min, the girl knowing it was all a joke. Jae Min probably did or didn't know but either way, it shows the crude and disrespectful humor Byeol Ho has. This was her humor and while others may find it funny, some find to be mean spirited and vulgar for many reasons, one of those reasons being profanity. Maybe Jae Min took it seriously or took it offensively, but she knew she wasn't going to say sorry.

Right after saying the words, she noticed Hae Ya flirting with Jae Min, smirking right after.

Byeol Ho knew that Hae Ya had a crush on Jae Min, and it was cute see someone like Hae Ya to be flirty and coquettish with someone. Byeol Ho saw this to be funny, heart warming and even ironic for Hae Ya's fear of being touched. Oh well; it was not Byeol Ho's life.

The purple haired girl stretched her arms and cracked her knuckles before she sat down correctly and got her legs of the table.

Right after, she got her legs down from the table, Jae Min replied to her comment and heard his comment which was just as crude and even controversial. This might have took a awry turn if it wasn't for Jae Min's friendship with Byeol Ho or else he might have ended up on the back of a milk carton or in a ditch. Still playing around, Byeol Ho stood up and walked towards him, using her height to her own advantage. Being at least 3 centimeters taller than Jae Min was used to her advantage and was to shrink at least a bit of pride on some males. Unfortunately, it only worked on a few.

She stood in front of him with a serious and ominous face in front of him and said, "Do you want to die?" she said in an ominous and serious tone, her eyes like daggers on him. "Do you wanna die, fam?" She said, in only bursting in laughter in the end and adding, "I'm just kidding."

Not so bad after all, is she?

No, she is still pretty bad; after all, she is going visit a certain person next door if she gets bored.

mi rae watched as you byeol ho approached jae min with a dark and sinister look on her face. she couldn't help but let out a small laugh when she brushed him off with a joke about him wanting to die, causing her to raise an eyebrow slightly. "you're never going to find a boyfriend if you continue to scare them off with that murderous look." she teased the young girl, standing up and flattening her skirt as she reached over, ruffling byeol ho's hair - making it seem messier than it usually was.

was it bad to say that mi rae was expecting that one of the others would have gotten lower than one hundred and ninety-sixth? but she couldn't say herself that she got the best of them all - because some of them did do better than her. mi rae smiled a little at them all,
"aish.. it's okay guys. we'll do better next time." she spoke to lighten up the atmosphere however everyone knew she was only giving them confidence for something that'll likely be achieveable. "besides, do you guys remember our promise?" she strolled towards the stereo she had managed to sneak into the room a couple days before school had started. "the lowest rank has to buy us all bulgogi after school." a grin spread across the young girls face.

mi rae began to play around with the stereo for a moment before music began playing -

. luckily for her, she had managed to find a way to connect the stereo through the wall and into the white tiger's classroom - taking advantage of their electricity after the principal had restricted their use of electricity and air-conditioning. mi rae wasn't going to stop fighting till they were accepted in the school, and treated similar to the many students in sevit.
"we still have that dance competition coming up, remember?" mi rae slowly began to raise the volume up, higher and higher, despite the fact that the white tigers would probably be able to hear it through the wall. the wide grin on her face clearly said she was doing this on purpose; mainly to annoy them but of course to practice the dance she had started coming up with for the competition. "we should be focusing on that, am i right?" skipping towards them, shaking her hip in rhythm to the music, she reached for hae ya's hand - pulling her from her seat and gesturing for her to dance alongside with her to cheer them up, which was ironic considering the song mi rae chose to put on was cheer up. "let's danceeee guys! to another year of dancing and success."

Although it looked like she couldn't hear anything Ji Eun always kept her music low enough for her to be able to hear if someone tried to talk to her. So hearing Min Hwan's comment made her roll her eyes, but she kept quiet since she wasn't really that bothered by it.

After her getting annoyed with the two boys chattering Ji Eun decided that she might as well turn up the volume a bit so keep concentrated on the math in front of her. She loved math since there was only one answer to each question and it was based on logic, so she found it relaxing and easy. However it wasn't long before a familiar face popped up in front of her making her jump a bit.

She took out her earphones and looked up at the slightly younger girl in a bit of a shock. "Ah, Hi Areum." she said flashing a quick smile. Before she could say more Hyun-Mi entered the classroom congratulating Areum for being third. It wasn't much of a surprise to her but she knew that Hyun-Mi was probably quite annoyed with it.

As Hyun-Mi walked up to Ji Eun and flicked the back of her head she immediately moved a hand over to protect the now sore area. "Yah!" Ji Eun almost yelled, she was a bit irritated today due to her ranking second again as she just knew she was going to receive a message from her mom later today scolding her.

"Thank you." she said rolling her eyes at Hyun-Mi's congratulation. "I see you've gone one down
again." Saying this was like a flick to Hyun-Mi's head but only with words instead of physical contact. Her shoulder then nudged Hyun-Mi and she then added "Just do better next time, okay?"

To most friends this wouldn't have sounded like a compliment or a nice thing to say but it was sadly the only way Ji Eun knew of supporting her friends without opening too much up. After looking at the two for a few moments and thinking about how much she really missed them she turned back to her book and started studying again.

"Ah, hi Areum," she heard Ji Eun say. Areum stood up straight as her bubbly giggles danced free. It wasn't long before Hyun-Mi showed up and congratulated her. She smiled in response while gleefully adding, "Thank you," with a greeting wave.

"Congrats to you too, dumbass," Hyun-Mi addressed Ji Eun; Ji Eun swatted about her head, "Yah! Thank you," she said rolling her eyes. "I see you've gone one down,
again." With that being said, Areum had felt some remorse regarding the position she had and contemplated whether or not she should talk to their teacher regarding the scores, but she decided against it. Maybe this time it was pure luck, she thought to herself. Just the thought of luck and so-on so-forth, Areum's thoughts drifted towards the Real Kings, for if they were to have the scores she had then that alone would be considered a miracle. Better yet, they might be accused of cheating. That would be fun, she thought. Areum smirked, already thinking about the reactions they might've displayed if it were to happen. She didn't know she was giggling, and she was still watching Hyun-Mi and Ji Eun's interaction, so she might've been mistaken for laughing at them.

Of course, there were no ill intentions in regard to her thoughts, but Areum slapped her cheeks in order to transition from her thoughts. After doing so, she relaxed and zoned back into Ji Eun and Hyun-Mi's interaction; sweater pawing in the process. "How was vacation?" Areum's eyes looked up at the two girls expectantly; down at Ji Eun; as well as hopeful, seeing as hers wasn't as exciting. In fact, she hadn't done much but study, became familiar with school grounds; even sneaking off campus to go to the
Achasan Ecological Park [1], once or twice. She hadn't done much, but rather sit in the grass, watching ducks swim across the pond as tourists came and went as they pleased. It was nice, but short-lived.

Glancing in the direction of the classroom door, Areum had a minor moment where she wondered where
Jin Tae Gan was. In the process of doing so, she listened as music drifted from the storeroom next door. The Real Kings were most likely practicing, and Areum could see the passing students looking in every-so often. Very few decided to due to their fear of the school's most explosive human being, even so, Areum thought herself curious.

She returned her gaze back to Hyun-Mi and Ji Eun, focussing on them as she attempted to avoid the many distractions that she was open to; including the hunger which lingered at the pit of her stomach.

[1]
Achasan Ecological Park it is a tourist attraction located in:

370, Gwangjang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, South Korea. You can go hiking on the mountain side there, and even walk around on its trail-walk, and much more.

xxxx"Whattt? You can't get trampled by an ocean. I was just up quite early watering the roses. You know me, the early riser," Min Hwan assured him. Kyumin pursed his lips in obvious disbelief but didn’t challenge the half-assed joke/poor attempt at an excuse. Min Hwan suddenly cocked his head to the side and Kyumin could all but see his ears prick up like a dog standing at attention. He paused to listen as well and heard faint conversation. It could only have come from the Real Kings’ storeroom. “For people who never seem to do well in class they sure are here early,” Min Hwan remarked.

xxxx”Well, we’re here earlier than everyone else too, and we’re number five and six,” Kyumin added dryly without thinking. Realizing his mistake, he continued by saying, “which happens to be much better than one hundred and ninety eight out of two hundred.” When Areum entered the room, he smiled, waved, and bid her good morning in return. Shortly afterwards, Hyun-mi came in as well.

xxxx”Congratulations, Areum,” she said, which confused him a little. He hadn’t bothered to check the ranking of the other White Tigers, but he had assumed Jin Tae got first, Ji Eun got second, Hyun-mi third, and Areum fourth. Maybe Areum had placed third? He’d have to remember to ask her about it and congratulate her later.

xxxx”I see you’ve gone one down again,” he heard Ji Eun say to Hyun-mi, he assumed, about the ranking. Ugh, the first thing he heard her say on their first day and it’s mean as hell. Another sound distracted him and he listened as it increased in volume until he could clearly make out the first notes of an upbeat song. It was by that relatively new girl group, Twice. What was it called again? Cheerful? Something like that. He didn’t dislike the song so he didn’t really mind that the Real Kings seemed to be blasting it on purpose, even humming along with the chord progression. The thought of the Real Kings reminded him of Min Hwan’s plight. ”Min-min!” Kyumin gasped suddenly, eyes going wide and grabbing onto his friend’s sleeve quite dramatically. “What if you-know-who comes after you today?” He pouted and crossed his arms. “I won’t let that eggplant-looking fucknut lay a finger on you!” he declared (quietly). Byeol Ho always seemed to know when Min Hwan was alone and ambushed him, and the thought of another year of his friend getting beat up with disconcerting to say the least.

Byeol Ho had laughed for 3 straight minutes before reverting back to her neutral state. She liked joking around with Jae Min, most of the time she giggled at some his reactions, but this is was how she was with most of her friends. She always was making crude jokes and laughing at some of their reactions. Some people might think of this as sadistic, but she always seemed to say "just kidding" as a form of sorry. Reactions were different and varied which depended on the person but always seemed to end with a laugh or giggle. And in this point in time, Byeol Ho just hoped Jae Min would laugh, because then she would have to say the dreaded word of sorry.

After Byeol Ho had stopped laughing, she felt like someone was staring at her, she turned around and glanced at two people. Hae Ya and Mi Rae. Hae Ya glanced at her for a bit before Mi Rae said, "you're never going to find a boyfriend if you continue to scare them off with that murderous look." Mi Rae teased, fluffing up her wavy and messy hair even more than it usual messy look. Byeol Ho replied, "Maybe I won't get a boyfriend..." she sighed woefully, "But they they'll want this body!" she added, making a sensual pose just before she started laughing again. "I'm kidding; but it's sad for me to know that." Byeol Ho said as while she rubbed her head. Byeol Ho then took her mind of the comment and then looked back at Hae Ya who was crying about having to pay. "You guys can come to my parent's restaurant. And lucky for Hae Ya, she'll only have to pay half price." She said with grin formed on her lips.

Byeol Ho then saw Hae Ya being pulled on her feet by Mi Rae to dance which caused Byeol Ho only to jump up on her feat, "Aw, Fuck Yeah!" She shouted as she joined Hae Ya and Mi Rae to dance. Somehow, dancing with Real Kings made her feel energized and happy. A feeling that made her happy to be the bottom of the barrel in the school.

Jin Tae Gan.

Whispers buzzed about tae gan as he moved at a calculated pace through the student-crammed hallway. He was used to the usual buzz that accompanied his every move, knew to keep the smile on his lips regardless of whatever emotions were bubbling inside. In this case, he felt nothing short of exhaustion. The weariness pulled at his eyes, forcing him to blink every couple of seconds just to keep them open as movement required.

He felt no sort of nervous energy nor did he feel in any way uneasy about what the class ranks would be. It was an unchanging cycle. No matter how hard anyone tried, tae gan knew he'd end up at the top regardless. It was kind of depressing actually. For the sole purposes of maintaining appearances he was on his way up there was well. Maybe he'd feint some shock this year. Act like he hadn't expected the first rank. A more genuine smile played at the corners of his lips at the thought. Then his thoughts turned towards those who would, as usual be at the lists very bottom.

He was just rounding the corner, eyes on the distant rankings when there was a sound like a fist striking a wall. Somehow he knew without looking up that it was one of those pathetic Real King members, perhaps even the head of them all - Min Rae. The very thought of her twisted tae gan's lips downward into an involuntary scowl. He couldn't stand the younger girl and he didn't think anything would change that. Lingering for a brief moment in the hallway adjoining the one holding the rankings, tae gan gathered his thoughts, schooling his expression into impassivity as he rounded the corner. His eyes flew over the cluster of people still beside the list, making out Areum's smaller figure.

Lips involuntarily were pushed upward into the smallest of smiles at the girl's presence. She was a breathe of cool air beside the other more complicated members of the student body and particularly his usual group, the White Tigers. He might've approached had it not been for her quick egress of the hall. tae gan decided to speak to her later, heading towards the still crowded rankings. He'd perhaps just cleared his throat when the first person in the throng of students' eyes touched his. Said student moved out of the way, tapping the next, then the next, then the next and the pattern repeated until a path had been cleared for him.

Pushing his lips upward into an appreciative smile, tae gan made his way over to the list amidst the whispers about him, scanning it.

2. was ji eun.. no surprise there.

3. was Areum, and good for her, tae gan thought

4. was Hyun mi tae gan winced, imagining the younger girls reaction to the score

5. was kyumin, tae gan thought to congragulate his best friend,

and 6. was min hwan

Committing the scores to memory, tae gan headed towards the classroom, acknowledging the congratulatory cheers that rose about him with a thin smile. He could imagine all of the White Tiger's, clustered in the classroom, pondering on the uncharacteristic lack of punctuality there leader had just executed. And on the first day of school, of all days. Rounding the corner, tae gan wrinkled up his nose as the first notes of a song touched his ears. It was a horrible song at that, overly cheerful in it's tune and typical of only one group in the school - The Real King's.

Biting down on his lip hard to keep the anger from spilling into his words, tae gan stole a disdainful look at the door to the room where which the music currently played, before entering the room containing his normal social group. Forcing his lips upward into a smile he hoped would disguise his exhaustion from them, tae gan scanned the room to make sure everyone was present. They were lounging about, focused on either socializing or early studying in ji eun's case.

Tostling min hwan's hair as way of greeting, tae gan briefly stole another glance at the girls, wondering why the room was so gender segregated. Hazel eyes first settled on ji eun, and the book she was currently studying with. Frustration briefly touched his thoughts. The girl needed to lighten up,
seriously.

"Second place again, ji eun," tae gan moved forward to give the girl a sympathetic pat on the arm. "don't worry, you might get first place next year." a pause before tae gan wrinkled up his features as if thinking hard, and allowed the proffered words to spill from his lips. "if I transfer out that is. But don't stop trying, k? But that doesn't mean you have to start studying
now."

Extracting the book from her rock-hard grip,
had she always been that strong?, tae gan turned his attention to the others located beside her. Eyes flew over hyun mi, tone taking on a sympathetic lilt.

"Not in the top 3, eh? Making space for Areum?" lips tilted into a smile. "good for you, hyun mi. Thinking about your friends before yourself the 'for once' was implied."

Finally allowing his eyes to settle on the last girl, tae gan finally allowed the congratulatory smile to touch his lips. Areum really did deserve it, anyway.

"Congratulations," came the intonation "were you surprised? I'm not." an impish twinkle briefly occupied his eyes before tae gan turned to start back over the corner where his friends sat.

Briefly lifting a hand to mask a yawn, tae gan's eyes settled on the turtle-neck his friend was currently donning and the boy felt his lips tilt downwards. He didn't want to think of why his friend had bothered to wear something so heavy on such a warm day - it would only make him angry about his own helplessness when it came to kyumi's personal life. But it wouldn't do good to dwell. His thoughts briefly turned from grades as he slid on-top of the desk aligning kyumin's and nestled his feet into the chair directly underneath.

"So where have you guys been all summer?"

Another music note and tae felt irritation knit at his brow.

"
Aish. And is anyone else thinking of heading down there and shutting that music off?"

CHILL

“But anyway, where did you place, Chill?”

The blonde's eyes shot up to the familiar voice, though there was nothing to meet, for he'd already looked away. Running his tongue along his lips, Chill had to think - be modest considering what everyone else's scores were? Be honest, academics aren't really the reason you're here anyway, so it's not like you're a braggart. Wave it off seemed like the better, neutral answer. "There was a printing issue, my name didn't show up, so I..."

Or, lie.

"I don't know yet."

earlier that morning

Why isn't my name on this list?.

That question had landed Chill half an hour in the office lobby. His interlocked hands rested between his knees, elbows at his thighs; he was a little hunched over, though his head was cast down, chocolate orbs were watching the receptionist with disbelief. What could possibly have taken thirty minutes? Wasn't it just a matter of a typo? Were they printing the entire scoring sheet over to include his name? Surely someone could just tape his wherever it was supposed to go, or honestly he didn't mind if they just told him his score, personally, and made an announcement at their convenience,
he was a patient guy.

Despite having arrived at the same time as the janitor, of whom was the first to unlock the front doors and also tended to snake the kid a soda from the cafeteria vending machines - students were flooding the halls now, indicating it was now surpassing the half hour he'd been here. But she'd told him to sit there and wait for clarification, he didn't want to be rude and just leave. His thoughts seemed to have reached her, for the female looked up, eyes distantly amiable, "
Can I help you?"

His expression was that of a stone, posture raised as he leaned back to better view her, as if the counter between them was hiding what had to be a joke -
you're kidding, she forgot? Having stared at her long enough to get a worried smile, he discreetly exhaled, "I asked you to tell me my score, remember?"

"We have that listed on a board just outside this office."

Oh my God.

"My name
wasn't on the list."

"Oh! Okay, well, let me just call the principal and..."

"I thought you already
did..." His voice went flat and he just gave up, resuming his original position.

ten minutes later

"Which one of you is Chil-Hyeon?"

There were literally only three other students in the office - he sighed. Chill volunteered as a TA in here every Friday, you'd think they'd be able to distinguish him. He rose a hand half hearted like at the familiar counselor, who leaned over the counter and scanned a packet in hand with her eyes. "Apparently we forgot to include your name and score - every other student made it on the list, but there's a lot of hyeon's, so."

So I was the less memorable one. Even to the printer.

" - you scored thirty."

Irony was a bitch, but his grade
was better than he'd anticipated. Pushing off his chair, the young man bowed and then slipped out of the front doors, back into the gradually thinning wave of students, and headed to the storeroom where the rest of the dance crew would be. There were clusters and loners, a lot of yawning, but then your occasional njot even the morning can stop me stereotype - he embraced them all, feeling no more included than ostracized, focusing primarily on the rush of talent, and the fact he'd earned his spot here. He knew he was more of a ghost in the halls than those typically described as shining stars or passionate flames, some couldn't really bring themselves to greet him due to a shame he couldn't really understand, whilst others were obsequious in making him feel like a part of the student body - but by the end of the year? They'd all be singing a different tune.

As usual, he'd been the first one to arrive at the storeroom, poking his head in with a flickering smile as there was no one to greet. Chill never really knew if he appreciated solitude, escaping the rush of cliques and talents in the corridors did give him a chance to breathe - yet, despite not being able to call many more than peers, he liked the warmth of multiple, familiar faces filling the room. It gave the place color beyond interior design and decoration, both of which he also felt were a little lacking in here. With the door pressing shut behind him, Chill tossed his bag to the side of the room - the clock revealed he had a good fifteen minutes to practice on his own, without anyone walking in on him.

He flashed a half smile at the few before him, which really was out of place. He just didn't know what would be the better answer, the
remarkable response - down playing his standing or boasting his outcome. He exhaled discreetly with relief as Mi Rae changed the subject, beckoning everyone come dance with her whilst not so subtly cranking the volume of their stereo. He laughed and did a little dance where he sat, head bobbing to the music.
