NyxNightmare

Neko Addict

Quick Note guys: This RP was made in mind that I'll only be accepting up to 4 members for this RP group. As this is simply the way I wanted this one to be styled for now. Members may create multiple characters however.

Taking place in modern times, you have woken up to a world of destruction. Everything is in ruins and the air is filled with screams. You can't move, you're blacking out again as mysterious figures blur past in the distance. Suddenly the world has faded from your grasp. Upon waking up a second time, silence fills your ears compared to the wretched screams that previously gnawed at your skin. It's almost sickening. There's nobody around, just the steady wind that brushes by your shoulders.

Cedric awoke in a fright. He was still in his bath tub. The water, a deep blood red. It hadn't worked, he was still well alive. Well... not WELL alive. He was incredibly weak and frail. He wondered how much time had passed. His wrists lay outside each side of the bath tub each with long cuts down the center. How could he be alive? He took enough pain killers to kill a tiger and was sure he cut to the bone. It mattered not, he was alive. He attempted to get up and out of the bath tub and let out a heart stopping scream as the nerves in his arms activated, letting his mind know just how much pain he caused them. He tried again, and through the pain he succeeded in sitting up. Careful not to wet his moderately healed wounds in the bloody water he slowly, and painfully climbed out of the tub. Cedric noticed the lights were out, and it was quite hot in his apartment high up in World Trade Center One, he brushed it off his shoulder and tried to stand and observe himself. He was still in his work attire, a white dress shirt (now turned a pinkish red), black dress pants, and black slacks. He looked in the mirror at a man he did not recognize. It was him he was sure... but at the same time it was not. Looking down at his self inflicted wounds he wondered how they'd not done they're job and in a way he and his cuts were one in the same, now a failure. He wrapped his arms in gauze from hand to shoulder. they slowly turned red around the wounds as the sudden motion had opened up small fractions of them. Regardless of his attempt he was alive.. it must mean something he thought. Lacking the energy to go into an anger fueled rage about his failure he walked down the hall of his apartment, and into his living room...<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2014_11/57a8c0c2ec695_images(2).jpg.e68178829fe56186c5b1d0224249033b.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="34020" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2014_11/57a8c0c2ec695_images(2).jpg.e68178829fe56186c5b1d0224249033b.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Blinking her eyes open, Xera was awoken suddenly by her brother tugging on her arm. "W-what is it?" She tried to shake herself awake. Sleep was hard to get nowadays. Her hair was tangled and her clothes were the same as yesterdays.

"We have to move. The dark figures were around again last night." Darin breathed as he packed up the bags and weapons that surrounded them. They had both taken shelter in some sort of housing facility. Candles were laid all around the edges of the room and outside the building. It seemed to keep the darkness away.

"Cant we at least change first? and take a shower..." Complained Xera.

Darin sighed. "Fine. But don't take forever like last time. We don't want....another incident." He bit his lip, remembering the horrible scene. The mysterious shadows had found their way inside the crevices of the bathroom and Xera had accidentally knocked over a candle, almost disappearing into the darkness. "Besides, we have to find more candles and flashlights if we want to make it to the next day." They weren't always around...the mysterious figures. But you could never be too careful. And with that, Xera headed into the shower, letting the water run down her face, trying to forget this world.

Adrenaline pumped through Shane as he ran down the abandoned alleyway, looking back and seeing that the shadows on the floor were chasing him. It was the mornigng and it was still dark so the shadows could easily get him. He had managed to stay in that store cupboard for a week, but after having no more food he had to leave.

Shane ran down the alleyway, panicked to see that it was a dead end. He turned around, watching as the shadows were coming nearer and nearer to him. Shane looked at his surroundings. Luckily for him there was a open window that wa just big enough for him to hop into. He did so and immediately shut the window tight, holding his arms against the windows. He had somehow made it, even if he was trapped in this strange house. Shane listened to the sound around him. It was the sound of a shower dripping; and it sounded like it was right in this room. He turned around and saw the naked woman and immediately looked away.

"Oh my god, Sorry! I just need to get away from..."

Shane trailed off from his words. I'm sure the lady must have met the Shadows.

That was what he called them.

"Well, the Shadows..."

(Oh my this is a fine way to meet haha xD It seems like Xera can never get a peaceful shower)

For a few seconds Xera simply stood there, gaping at the sight of the stranger. She was waiting for the water to get warm and was simply brushing her long hair and fell slightly over her breasts. "W-w-w....Darin!!!" She screamed as she quickly attempted to hide herself. She had forgotten to get a towel. Her screams immediately alerted Darin as he ripped the door open. He glared at the boy, but then realized Xera was naked and quickly brought the door to close on instinct. "Wait...no!" He exclaimed as he re-opened it and grabbed the boy's shirt, pulling him out and shutting the door again.

Allowing his sister to continue her shower, he sat down with the mysterious boy. "So tell me, what exactly were you doing in there? This excuse better be good." He impatiently tapped his fingertips on the table.

( xD )

Shane gulped as the man tugged him by the collar. He must have looked so perverted right now.

"Sir, I swear, I didn't mean anything to that girl!" Shane emphasised by putting his hands up in surrender. He fiddled with his shirt nervously as it was the first humans he had seen in 2 months. "I was just running from the Shadows, Sir." He explained. "I saw the open window and took the chance, Sir. I swear, I would never want to hurt your...sister?" Shane questioned. It didn't really matter anyway though. "I can leave right now, I just left my...Uh...cupboard for food and supplies..." Shane stood up and pointed to the very light back pack on his back. "Nothing left..." Shane looked around at the room. "Why all the candles?"

Darin's eyes hardened. He didn't like this guy. "The shadows huh?" But he understood the circumstances. Xera had just walked out, a long sleeved light cream sweater with black shorts. Her hair still a bit damp. She avoided looking the stranger in the eye and tried to hide the redness of her face.

"You'll leave after this." Darin ordered the other guy.

"Leave? Darin this is the first human we'e met in a long time! In fact, I was pretty sure we were alone...we can't just shoo him away." Xera countered, completely forgetting the whole shower incident for a few moments

"No. He's..." Darin looked the guy up and down.

"He's human Darin. We could use another pair of hands." She insisted. "Won't you stay with us?" She glanced over at the guy. "We use the candles to keep away the dark at night. Although we're running low on supplies..."

"For God's sake he doesn't need to know our game plan." Darin growled as he got up and headed out. "I'll be outside, do whatever you want." And just like that he was gone.

Xera frowned. "D-don't worry about him. He'll soften up." She tried her best to smile. "Maybe anyways...."

Shane watched as the man stormed out of the room. Antisocial, huh?

He moved his view to the girl, noticing her blush which made him blush.

"O-Oh...Okay..." Shane paused, dusting off the dirt from his trousers.

"S-Sorry about earlier...Awkward first impression...Huh?" He laughed nervously.

"I didn't mean to...Uhh...see you like that..." He muttered, looking down at his shoes.

"S-So...Uh...I'm Shane, Nice to meet you...?" He asked, lifting out a hand for her to take.

"Ahaha....I understand. I'm Xera." She hesitated, but eventually reached out to shake his hand too. "We better start leaving." She got upand begn to make her way outside. "So what's your story?" She asked. This new guy was a complete mystery, and as much as she wanted to forget their first meeting that wasn't going to happen. He did seem nice however. She hoped she made the right choice in letting him stay. The more the better though right?

Shane sighed a little, taking out his axe form his bag. "Not much of a story, I guess..." He followed Xera out of the building, covering his eyes as the sun blinded him. "It's nice...the Sun I mean..." He looked around at the surroundings. He saw the alleyway that he had escaped from, watching ad the shadows waited there for them to also escape at night time. He shuddered, thinking about sll the times the shadows had gotten into his brain. Somehow, just somehow he had survived his attacks. It's almost as if he was immune to the Shadow's power.

He looked around. There was a park near by, vines all over the trees. Shane walked accords the road, touching the nearest tree. He aimed his axe at the vines and swung It against it. He then pulled the vine off, pulling all the leaves off. He collected the leaves and put it in his back. "Ooh...!" He exclaimed, reaching into the tree and taking out a bright red apple. Somehow it wasn't dirty or mouldy.

(bump?)

"Hey Darin, look! Apples!" Xera squealed happily as she took one to munch on.

Darin followed a bit behind and rolled his eyes. "Like you haven't seen them before?"

"Well....not lately." She shrugged, taking another bite. She knew Darin preferred for it to be just a team of two, he could trust easily. He obviously didn't trust Shane. But she did. "Were you headed anywhere in particular?" She asked Shane.

Shane smiled to himself, watching Xera pick some apples.

He took a big bite from the one in his hands and turned too her.

"Do you seriously think that there's anywhere out there that is safe?" He raised his eyebrow, not meaning to bring down her hopes.

"Well," He smiled, empathetically. "I was hoping to go to the coast. Maybe just live life on the seas..."

Shane shrugged, taking another bite.

"I'm really hoping for it. I honestly didnt expect the world to end this way. I always thought it would be zombies you know?

Life on the seas? Like a pirate?

And Where are we headed Darin?" Xera called over her shoulder.

"Wherever he's not." He grumbled.

Xera made an irritated face and sighed. "The man brought us to apples Darin. He is the apple god!" She motioned with her hands around Shane.

"Or he could be the devil telling you to eat the apple like in the testiment."

"Am I dead yet? No." Xera pointed out as she took another bite. "Do you think there are more people out there?"

"Only one way to find out." Darin began to move again. Xera took as many apples as she could and quickly followed.
