Broken Lineage

It all seemed so cinematic. The Human Race's never ending quest to expand their reign into the cosmos, the thrill of a groundbreaking discovery each and every day, and witnessing the breakthroughs of the century. The cities of planets came and went, thrived, became slums, evolved. Technology prospered with the new age, teleportation and travel into deep space became possible. With the potential for expansion at hand, humanity prepared itself for the worst...

But what they got... Was far more than anyone could have prepared for.

Hades Omega

There were seldom an opportunity in the exploration of space, despite the 28,000 Lightyears traveled. A few possible planets held the potential to sustain human life, but none was more revered in this field than Hades Omega. Hades became a thriving spot for everything that existed on it's ancestral planet of Earth. Trade, Religion, Production, Industrialization, all took their toll on the planet, encompassing most of Hades with cities or production facilities.

The depletion of the Earth's atmosphere was quicker than anyone had anticipated. By 2278, it was totally gone. By this time, Earth had been drained to a heap of nothingness. It's once vast sea's were dried to deserts, It's once habitable atmosphere dissipated to nothingness. Extreme conditions ravaged the planet. New York City had been crumpled into wastes and ruins, and the Blue Planet, had died, along with any remaining population.

Hades became the center of any attention, but not just for humans...

The Visitors...

Once again, The Human Race withstood it's near self destruction. But there was a new problem. On May 4th, 2394, 116 years after the collapse of Earth, the first Anek'tar made contact with human beings. The message was clear and loud.

"Get out, or be forced out."

It turns out that the region of space that the humans chose to expand to, was considered jurisdiction of Anek'tar Space.

Anek'tar are a race of metallically infused alien behemoths. They average 9 feet tall, with muscular, armored builds. They populated 11 planets in the Milky Way Galaxy, and had planned on expanding, until they realized they were not the only ones. Needless to say, they were mad.

When the humans attempted to explain their situation, that they had no where to return to, they were given one, optionless condition: They were allowed to stay, if they would allow themselves to be governed by the Anek'tar.

The humans' only option was to allow the race of behemoths to take control.

This allowed the humans to be able to work freely on their planet's trade, military, funding, and other such things, so long as they did not threaten the Hierarchy of the Anek'tar.

The Anek'tar's government was biased against the newcomers, particularly for their weak-seeming stature, and their unannounced takeover of a planet in claimed territory. Soon, the Hierarch ruled the humans as "Deficient to Anek'tar Advancement." They were labeled Untouchables. Any Anek'tar Politician, or official who attempted to govern these people was extradited from his race. Soon enough, Hades Omega fell into chaos. The few Anek'tar that remained to govern the planet, lost all empathy, and let the planet suffer.

The Relapse

Since the Anek'tar allowed the humans to further develop their technology, the technological breakthrough's never stopped. In time, they were able to open wormholes to inhabitable planets, without ever having to build spacecraft. In addition to being able to Transwarp to new planets, the humans also developed some more advanced weaponry. Soon, the revolts started. The humans waged war with their oppressive, neglectful controllers. The Anek'tar responded with drastic measures...

It did not end well.

Cities were leveled, and the human's weaponry was unbelievably ineffective. They stood no chance in a war against creatures they had offended from the beginning. Diplomacy had died, and few places on Hades Omega remained safe. All resistance was focused on preserving the planet's capital: Mortanis.

The Current Standings...

With the contingency of the human menace on Hades Omega, and no Earth or other human-inhabited planet, one might be wondering "What now?"

The Year is 2456 and the head of the Transwarp Program opened a portal in Mortanis for the civilian Refugee's to run through, to a new planet, with a small city, and a refugee camp. located about 49,000 lightyears away, and fortunately out of Anek'tar space. This planet is deamed Sanctum Alpha. Soon after arriving to their new "Safe-Haven", New Mortanis, the refugee's discover the city to be abandoned -- By people.

Ravenous creatures that resemble black wolves, with alien traits have inhabited the city, and feed upon any survivors. These creatures are cunning, and live in packs. They also have a mild thirst for sadism. These creatures are called Xenolites, but the slang for them varies between Xeno's, Ravagers, Wolves, etc.

Those who remain on Hades Omega are to fight the Anek'tar until the last of the refugee's make it through.

Those Captured by the Anek'Tar are experimented on, or publicly executed.

Further Development to come!

History: As a child, she was traumatized with the looming threat of the scary looking Anek'tar. She grew up with a bit of hatred toward them, but knew she could not fight them. Average in her studies, she became a member of the Mortanis Police Department, and even applied for a Special Forces division, but quit after receiving her training, due to an increase in number of Anek'tar attacks. She herself has only managed to harm one, before having to flee from it. Like everybody else, she ran to the safety of Mortanis, and when the Transwarp to Sanctum Alpha was opened, she escorted refugees through the wormhole, and looked back to see what is probably the last she would ever see of Hades Omega. From her eyes, atleast. (Above)

Sounds awesome, Kiminaru! My type of RPG ;)

I will be seriously considering joining, since my two current RPGs (Children of London and The Inn Between) are not keeping me busy enough. Not to mention that I am unlikely to find enough players to start my RPG (Nivirres: The Frozen World).

Players on both sides, fun monsters, ooh what fun!

Explaining some of the nasties on the other side could help somewhat though.

I will work on your banner when it is time. I do not want to put in effort in to anything that has a possibility of going under before it has ever even started.

Switched to awaiting players. If this gets enough you will be sent to the back stage where you can proceed to acquire a banner and forums.

I will play this. :) Will get to work thinking up a character.

I'll join. I like the idea and setting. Also, I need more things to keep me active. The five roleplays I am in are not doing a good enough job. (Kidding)

Waiting for the technical stuff to get finalized. the banner is something I made. wont be the actual banner.

[QUOTE="Renarion Arenimon]I don't see why it shouldn't be, but anyhow I better start working on my character.
