Biography: Briar was born to a wealthy family in Satunum  society. She grew up in Amile, with two strict parents who were raising her to be the ideal little homemaker, this was kicked into overdrive when her mother got pregnant again when Briar was 5.  Nine months later she had a little brother, Jasper and a even more responsibilities. Her mother grew ill in the months that passed and as the time ticked on, it steadily grew worse. During this time Briar's father expected her to step up and be the lady of the house, but Briar had other things in mind. She stopped focusing on her studies and duties as a homemaker to read up on the outside world, most often by sneaking into her father's library and stealing books. Jasper would often accompany her, and she'd read to him and the two would dream of one day leaving their dull and restrictive lives and see the world. By the time Briar was ten and jasper was five, their father had figured out what they were plotting, furious he sent Jasper away, to the church so he'd be out of his hair and away from his sister. Infuriated Briar began to openly defy her father's will, she stopped doing her house work, neglected her studies, and whenever her father picked a potential suitor she'd do something embarrassing and shameful to make the other family lose interest. When Briar turned eleven, her mother died and her father became unhinged. he became physically violent with his unruly daughter in a desperate attempt to control her.

Briar's only salvation were the letters her brother would send her, she'd hide them in her room and read them after rough days. Her brother would write of wanting to leave the church and go on the run with Briar, and this gave the girl the courage to try and figure a way out of her increasingly desperate situation. A few months after her mother's death, Briar's father found the letters being sent to her, and he exploded on the girl. He beat her so bad her vision in her left eye was lost and her hearing in her left ear was compromised.

Pushed to her limits, Briar started keeping a knife on her, and the next time her father tried to hit her, she embedded it into his side, and ran. She ran as far and as fast as she could, taking only the small bag she'd been packing. She fled the city and was too afraid to go back to find Jasper, for fear her father was looking for her. for the first time in her young life Briar was on her own, with only a small pack of belongings and her wits to keep her alive. she wandered the wilderness outside of Amile, her feet carried her aimlessly in the direction she hoped would take her to Lagna, which she'd read about in her books. Weak, exhausted and still recovering from her head injuries Briar held out for a week or two before collapsing on the side of the road. Luckily she was rescued by a traveling merchant family who were heading to Lagna, they turned the injured girl over to the Ramai people and it was here Briar would remain for the next ten years.

After recovering from her ordeal Briar found a home of sorts among the people of Lagna, she was taken in by a family and raised as one of their own. she had several adopted siblings, all of whom served as a reminder of the brother she left behind. Swearing to return one day and find her lost family, Briar took to combat training so she could defend herself and those she loved. she also swore to never again be at the mercy of cruel and twisted men like her father, and after spending twelve years in Lagna she's eager to get back out into the world, find her family and make a name for herself.
