Character Sheets


So here's what I'd like for you to include in your character sheets please. I'm not really worried about BBcoding, but you might want to proofread and make sure your spelling and stuff is on point.


Full Name


Make sure your character's name matches up with their given ethnicity. If they're Japanese/American, you can give them an American/Japanese name, and you don't have to worry about putting their surname first - depending. If they are entirely Japanese, however, I would advise you to put their surname first.


Nickname


Ethnicity


Japanese? American? Australian? Etc.


Age


Their age should match up with their Grade Level. (First Years: 15-16; Second Years: 16-17; Third Years: 17-18) Unless they've been bumped up a grade or held back one, they shouldn't be much older than the given ages.

First, Second, or Third Year. If you are wanting your character to be a Coach or Captain, note that Coaches have no need for this section because they should already be out of high school, and Captains must be Third Years.


Birthday


This is really just for party purposes and to understand who's older than who. You can also include their zodiac sign because some people may be too lazy to look it up.

Heterosexual? Bisexual? Homosexual? Bicurious? Etc.

Their may only be one Coach for each team, but two Captains. However, the Captains must be of opposite genders - meaning one boy and one girl. This is because of the new co-ed law. If they are not a Coach or Captain, you have these to choose from: Point Guard, Shooting Guard, Small Forward, Power Forward, and Center.

Personality


Don't use bulletins. I'd like for you to write a nice paragraph - at least - explaining the type of person your character is. You don't have to be too, too detailed because we'll get a better understanding of them during the RP anyways. Talk about the things they like. What are they scared of? Are they a good cook? Do they have any illnesses or injuries? Health issues? You know how it goes. Talk about things you'd like people to notice in your character. If you'd like, you can include a Likes and Dislikes section. It's entirely up to you. Have fun with it. Be unique.


Backstory


This doesn't have to be too long, just give a brief summary on how they came to live in Tokyo, or some crap of that nature. Why do they play basketball? Do they have siblings? Are they kin to anyone else from the team or other schools? Just put whatever. I'm sure you've done this before.


Skill


Alright... Regulars have 25 points, Captains have 30, and Coaches have 35 to put towards their character's capabilities. You can take a good look at my character sheet for a better example. Divide the points up however you'd like between these stats: Strength, Intelligence, Speed, Technique, and Specialty. (Strength is basically who beats who in an arm wrestle, or who can do the most push ups. Intelligence is who knows more than who, or who's grades are highest. Speed is who wins the race or throws the most punches within a given time. Technique is ball handling and shooting. Then there's Specialty, which is sort of random at the moment, but fill it in anyways.) You cannot come back and change these until I say so, in which I'll allow you to add one point onto your stats. Coaches are stuck with what they've got.

Appearance


Coach Kirigiri is is a slightly taller-than-average young adult with rather appealing facial features. He stands at around 5'11, almost 6 feet, and weighs 157 pounds. He has short, fluffy pink hair, sometimes mistaken as a weird lookin' orange. He has dark brown eyes, often walking around with a stoic expression and carrying his head held high, shoulders back. He has good posture. Kirigiri doesn't wear any sort of uniform to basketball practice - He just wears jeans and dress shirts, and occasionally he'll throw on a pair of sweats, but never shorts. He doesn't like shorts because they make him feel naked. His hair is naturally wavy, which he's not the biggest fan of. Little bits and pieces tend to flip out in certain places, some more than others. He also has a clean and pale complexion, as well as long and slender fingers.


Personality


Kirigiri is a generous and mature guy with a lot of family issues, but this doesn't really affect him in any negative way. He tends to carry on with himself and mind his own business unless it's anything involving the members of his team. Some like to compare Kirigiri to that of a guidance counselor. He likes spouting words of wisdom and other nonsense of that nature. He's also really passionate about basketball, having played the sport since he was only a child. Something Kirigiri tends to keep secret is that he actually graduated from Jindai High School, but was a student at Kokuja High for his first two years until his parents split up. Well, I wouldn't say he keeps it a secret, but it's not something he just up and randomly mentions to people. He's very interested in poetry, and will often quote William Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, Walt Whitman and more. He finds them to be inspiring at times, but they can also be a bit depressing because... well, some poetry have strange meanings behind them. When he was only 11, Kirigiri took up smoking cigarettes, and at 12 he started drinking. During his younger days he was quite the rebel, always getting into fights and talking stupid about dropping out of school and whatnot. He has an irrational fear of dogs but enjoys the company of a cat because they're smart and less rowdy. He's not a big fan of children, never knowing why they're crying or acting spoiled, so he tends to stray from their path. Despite this, Kirigiri actually has a daughter who's already seven years old. He doesn't spend much time with her, so she doesn't consider him a major character in her life. There are times when he feels down because he doesn't know how he's supposed to act around her or what he's supposed to say. He's not married to the child's mother or anything. In fact, she already has a husband.


Backstory


Kirigiri has lived in Tokyo his entire life. It's where he was born and raised. Since he was only a child, he was always having to put up with his mother and father fighting. And being an only child left him slightly lonely. He used to do nothing but play video games up in his room, specifically NBA 2K3. It was his favorite when it first came out. His mother bought it for him for his eleventh birthday, which is also the time in his life when he secretly took up smoking cigarettes. After school he would stay out late and play ball with some guys he met on the streets while looking for reference books to study for an important test. These actions didn't make anything easier for his parents. They would argue worse than usual because their frustration over him staying out late, doing only God knows what, weighed on them. The first time Kirigiri ever drank - he was taken to the hospital over alcohol poisoning. I guess he wasn't ready for the constant refills his buddies kept pushing onto him. He also didn't want to be rude and refuse their offers. I mean, it is a Japanese thing for someone to refill your glass while you make sure to refill theirs, then take a sip before setting your glass down. It's only proper etiquette. After this, Dai was grounded from leaving the house by his father. They made sure he was picked up from school or walked home by one of the teachers. His middle school reputation took a toll, and he was named a delinquent. People began picking fights with him, and he didn't turn them down. He was only going through a typical teenage boy stage. In high school, Kirigiri took on the role of a playboy and started sleeping around with girls. His parents just decided to let him do his thing without interfering. They were fed up - Well, mostly his father. But... had they attempted to set him straight, he probably wouldn't have become a seventeen year old dad. His daughter was born on February 19th, 2008 - when his second year of high school was drawing to a close. After his parents found out about this, they took it as the last draw and finally split up, in which Dai was forced to live with his mother and transfer to Jindai because his father didn't want anything to do with him. Did I forget to mention he used to play basketball at Kokuja? Kirigiri played as a point guard on the team, but was kicked off when the truth about him being a father got out, and never got to witness the close defeat that led the two schools to become rivals. During the school year he spent at Jindai, he began pulling himself together. He got a job at a small fast food restaurant and started studying to get into a halfway decent college - Grant it, he was already smart enough to get into whatever college he wanted. He eventually moved out of his house and rented a small apartment only a train ride away from Kokuja, never actually attempting to get into college. He just sort of dropped the idea after feeling like he'd fallen too far behind. It didn't take long for him to decide on coaching either. He's been doing the deed since 2011 - that's all you need to know.

Appearance


Miyagi is a fairly attractive girl, but I wouldn't call her hot - just cute. She has large, bright blue eyes and long lashes. Her smile is toothy and wide, and you might also notice a small snaggle tooth on the left side of her mouth. Her hair is a dark color, usually described as black when actually it's blue. She most often keeps it pinned back and tied with ribbons matching whatever attire she's wearing at the time being. She's tan and toned, but doesn't go without a bit of flab here and there. Most of her muscle is located in her legs, giving her the speed needed to do whatever - I don't feel like explaining. If you ever see Miyagi outside of school, you'll come to find out that she wears revealing clothes. Most of the time her outfits don't even match, but she still manages to look good- er, cute. She's not flat chested, but she isn't busty either. Miyagi is rather slim. Some might even say she's petite despite being taller than the average Japanese chick.


Personality


Miyagi is energetic and loud, as well as ill-mannered and obnoxious. She doesn't pay much attention to what's going on and just does things her own way, which often results in everyone getting in trouble. She has a bit of a superiority complex, always wanting to be the best. She's a very sore loser and will sulk for hours if she has to - Until the person who beat her agrees to a rematch. Miyagi doesn't focus on people's feelings and only hears what she wants to hear.
