Other Book ideas

[Scattered Ambitions]

So I'm working on a book. I just came up with the idea a week ago, and so it isn't completely fleshed out. But if anyone has anyone ideas or criticisms, I would appreciate them!

So, the basic idea is all the Norse gods get together. Ragnarok is coming. It's supposed to be inevitable, but what if there was a way to stop it? So they choose champions. The champions all end up being drawn to this one lake, (somewhere, I don't quite know yet), and just jumping in. This takes them to the rainbow bridge, or possibly Niflheim first, so the group has to bond first. Then they meet the gods, stuff happens. Basically, the Asier gods need the heroes to kill Loki, @Hel (jk Hel, not you) (but seriously they need to kill Hel) and Loki's wolves, to stop Ragnarok. That's basically all i have so far, plot wise.

What's stopping the gods killing loki et al themselves, why do they need champions?
