In the 1960s, Charles Blackwood arrived in a small town in Vermont. His purpose was to visit his elderly cousins, Constance and Mary Katherine, as well as his Uncle Julian. Curiosity consumed him as he wondered how time had transformed their appearances over the years. He had only caught glimpses of them through old photographs he had managed to sneak a peek at, as well as news articles detailing Constance's sensationalized acquittal in a notorious family murder case. Despite his ulterior motives, Charles did not harbor any fear toward his relatives. His sole focus was on one thing: money. In search of directions to Constance's residence, Charles stepped into Stella's coffee shop. Taking a seat at the counter, he quietly savored his cup of coffee while discreetly surveying the room. The patrons paid him no mind, oblivious to his connection with the Blackwood family. Charles saw this as a potential advantage. He had no idea how the townspeople treated the Blackwoods in this area, and perhaps remaining incognito was for the best. Nevertheless, he yearned for someone to engage in casual conversation, anyone who could provide an opportunity to discreetly inquire about directions. Perhaps this individual would even be kind enough to accompany Charles to his destination before continuing on their own way.
