Once it was a place where people lived and roamed about the land as they pleased, similar to Earth. Volcanoes dominated the surface and regulated the world’s temperature. People were always extremely adaptable, adjusting appropriately to anything that happened. However, an unexpected phenomenon struck the planet, and the world was covered in ice for a period of time.

One man in particular gathered followers with the promise of eternal freedom and prosperity. He showed them how to adapt like the polar bears and land mammals, and soon the group began to flourish. They learned how to gain power over the ice and used it to freeze the volcanoes. These people dominated the land and drove the others away, saying that the weak could not be a part of their new world order.

The remaining survivors felt they could no longer live in the frozen wastelands and turned to the water as their only hope. They grew tails like seals and other arctic swimmers and could breathe beneath the surface, surviving under the ice and building their settlement away from the land dwellers.

Several years later, the two groups have completely divided. The land dwellers are ruthlessly hunting the sea dwellers as in the nature of their animal halves. But there are a select few who believe that they can turn the world back and revive the land to its original glory- that everyone can live on the land again, together. They dream of a world where people do not live apart anymore, out of fear or hatred. The quest will be dangerous, with no guarantee of survival, but it is a journey that is worth the risk.

So will you brave the frosty seas and icy tundras to bring back warmth, and most of all, hope?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Condensed Summary: The world was once covered in volcanoes that regulated the temperature, but a natural disaster occurred and covered the world in ice. The people of this world adapt quickly to changes; the problem is that some people adapted faster than others and drove the weaker people off the land. These land dwellers are essentially the villains who adapted by mutating into half human/half arctic mammals, and they control the land by keeping everything frozen and hunting the other people. These other people adapted by becoming half human/half arctic ocean animals and are living in underwater, in the frozen-over ocean. Now, a group of sea dwellers (all the characters in this RP) want to take back the land and defrost the world so everyone can live together like they used to.
Fun, right? And we live underwater, in the frozen-over ocean.
(Sorry for the delay, but we are officially starting now! :D Thanks for being patient with me.)
Intro: The RP will start with each of you receiving this message on a shell.
Dear, (Character Name)
We are writing to inform you of a small expedition to the land above, since we heard you may be interested and have skills that could be very beneficial to this quest. The mission is to take back the land so that we don't have to live underwater anymore if we so choose- since we were originally forced against our will to live here beneath the surface. Although we hope to establish peace with the land dwellers, we do anticipate aggressive negotiations. Should you choose to join, please come to the community center by the sunken lifeboat tomorrow morning. Though the journey will be very difficult, you will leave a legacy behind for many generations to come.
Nika stared down at the smooth, white shell as she read the words printed simply and neatly on the hard surface. She didn't have to do much thinking before she came to her decision. If there was a chance to help her community, then she would take it. Although she didn't talk about it openly, Nika liked adventure. Not that there was anything wrong with her average, comfortable life, but there was a sort of thrill that came with danger.
Nika didn't feel the need to pack much, since she anticipated them finding food on the journey. The young lady swam higher from the depths of the sea until she found some ice that she could move. Nika waved her hands, as if directing a chorus, and the iceberg started to form into a different shape. She smiled and practiced for a few moments longer before deciding that maybe she really would be useful on this quest. Nika wondered who else received these intriguing invitations. Perhaps they were from different sea settlements and she had never met them before. The thought was exciting, and she hoped that the journey would go well.
Deep below the ocean where no sea creatures could enter besides a few, a small girl sat on the ledge of a sea rock playing with a little white shell she had found besides her. She wasn't sure how it even got to her since no one could survive living where she was but it was here and a message was written on it. Enna had already read it over 5 times and still she was wary of what this message meant. She had been to the surface before but she only was able to stay there for a few minutes until some land dwellers saw her and chased her away, Enna shivering at the memories,"To get back the land we once lived on... is it worth the battle?" Enna mumbled to no one in particular since there was no one even around her other than complete darkness and her dim light she was emitting from her body.
Many thoughts came into mind about the consequences and the obstacles that they will face if they take this step but she wanted to change her timid way. Gripping at her flowing white dress, Enna got up and stared up at the light above. Taking a deep breath, she floated up to the upper part of the cold ocean, her light glowing brightly until it got closer to the light above. Her light turning dim, Enna emerged out of the sea and breathed in the land air, her eyes twinkled at how refreshing it felt to be able to breathe in the air she once lived in.
Looking around her, she noticed a girl with long jet-black hair and pale skin like Enna's but except they didn't glow like hers. The woman was very pretty too as Enna stared at her from afar, scared to get close to her since she was not used to strangers yet especially the one who lived away from her,"Should I say hi to her?... B-but what if she eat me?!" Enna thought scaring herself more as she tried to hide behind an iceberg, her body still floating in the water with only her head popped up on the surface of the frozen water.
Awakening from a deep sleep that had lasted many weeks, a vividly colored fin brushed against an object that had not been there when she had gone into rest. The fin started to shape itself into the form of a pale hand which clutched the item - revealed now to be a shell - tightly. Sensitive skin remarked on the fact that there was writing engraved into the shell, and Lyhite brought it up to her eyes. Bright orange orbs came into focus suddenly after a sleep that had lasted many weeks, dilated pupils easily reading the writing in the dim light. Pushing herself up onto her elbows, laying on her stomach, the girl reflected that it was quite an opportune time to be waking. The fact that somebody, or something, had gotten into her secluded cave while she slept set alarm bells ringing in her head, but as no harm had come of it she figured that it was a small matter. Her attention returning to the shell, Lyhite considered the prospect.
Her eyes closed, and did not reopen for a good length of time. But when the pallid eyelids rose once more, the girl rose with them, casting aside the shell and melding herself into the form of a Butterfly Sculpin. A glance outside said that it was midday, and the light filtering through the water hurt her eyes as they adjusted from the dim light of the cave to the bright shine that resided outside her home. It seemed to be the day of coincidences, as the ocean life would not be stirring at this hour, and she had a better chance of surviving the journey to the sunken lifeboat. Eating the rest of her food stores, as she always woke from rest with a hunger so fierce that it seemed to consume the rest of the anger and need from the rest of her emotions, Lyhite set out shortly after. She had nothing to bring with her, as she lived on little and collected nothing that could not be used in the near future.
The swim was uneventful, as she had hoped, and Lyhite arrived at the lifeboat with no hindrance. It was a cautious survey that she conducted around the immediate vicinity, alert for any predator that might reside there. The girl with the jet black hair disturbed the victimized fish, as the girl had the look of a predator about her. Lyhite bothered not to gather up courage, instead setting the law for herself with will of iron. Flowing back into her human form, her multi-colored shining hair broke the surface of the water as she grabbed onto a nearby piece of ice and pulled herself up onto it. Water droplets coursed down her skin, and dripping hair clutched to her shoulders, but the girl seemed to not notice the cold as she pulled her legs up onto her ice block. Wrapping two pale arms around her legs, Lyhite rested her head on her knees; watching, waiting for any reaction that the black-haired girl might make and keeping an eye on the shape that floated behind an iceberg (Enna) with a feeling that this was another being, their attempts at hiding only meeting borderline success.
Zorah gently glided through the cold seas and rocky ledges of the seemingly endless water beneath the ice. She was no connoisseur of shell collecting, but when she could find one it made her crepuscle home enlightening and somehow brighter, like there was still hope. Her eyes flitted to the right, and as she swam a glint shone through the ocean. Zorah excitedly approached the ledge, where she found a beautiful blue shell upon its surface. After examining the shell, her mind flooded with eager thoughts.
Well of course she'd go! She had to! All her life she had been waiting for an adventure, real hope for the future and here it was. Zorah then frowned as she thought of her parents. They'd never let her do something so dangerous. Zorah had always abode by their rules, and she thought it hard to disgrace them in such a way. I have to do this for myself. I have to. She thought. And with that, she began to swim.
Under the frozen wastelands, there was an ocean... Filled with creatures hiding from the land, though hiding no longer. In that ocean, alone unlike others of it's kind. Swam a small blue whale, most unlike it's race. Scarred up extremely and unable to become like it's original race ever again.Worry, not because this is not a sad story of a whale. This is the sad story of Crusin.
But that is for an other day.
Today the whale-man was in man form. Swimming through the ocean towards the top the ice breaking around him. Finally he made it to the surface. Only to see a small letter nearby. Grabbing it the homeless assassin read it, several times. This was his chance... The chance to cut into the heart of the land people. But the creature was not happy. This meant he had to work in a team. "A team," the creature thought while grimacing. "They will only mess up the mission," the creature thought throwing down the letter. But this was not the end. Crusin was reluctant but not an idiot. So he turned into his whale form and swam to the capital. How beautiful was his whale form. Without marks or any sign of injury. So the whale figure swam to the capital at graceful speed, hoping for a chance to get revenge.
Within the foreboding depths of a large patch of sea the ghostly sight of a translucent tail gave off little light, a mere speck falling mercy to the circling darkness. Tayibs glazed gaze fluttered a cross the notes contents once more, wondering if he where meant to feel excited or have a sudden unspeakable amount of adrenaline pile itself into him. But his expression remained bored, with no one around as usual he remained taciturn. The tips of his pale fingers smoothing the shells surface with disinterest, until his skimming eyes searched around him for both prey and predators neither within his vicinity motionless.
But slowly his worst enemy sneaked towards him unable to be seen visibly by any eye. A thing that he often had to push away or begin to swim from. A thing that plagued his thoughts constantly pushing him to do terrible and unreasonable deeds.
Curiosity.
Tayib bit his lower lip inspecting the words again, his bronze gaze now bright with what whimsical events may follow the choice of going towards the wrecked ship. He had already set a single plan intending to do what he must to keep from dying, this would most definitely put this plan in danger. But once again the beast which was darker then anything around him hung atop his brilliant hair prodding him slowly towards his destination.
Though he was sure it was a mistake, that what skills they found in him where actually another individuals within the seas depths. Tayib was still interested, preparing himself to die knowing that a simple healer as himself would be no help in a physical event. He had never been above the colorless level he was born within, hearing tales of the bright blue hued water above them. His pale complexion gave off the obvious fact that he only remained below, and here he was going to the surface.
Ridiculous.
Knowing it would be a long swim towards the community center he began towards the point.
Staring up at the figure ahead, Enna thought she heard something splash behind her. The sound of water frighten the poor girl, her hands reach out to the big floating block of ice and clutching at it for dear life, glancing behind her to see what looked to be the most beautiful creature she had ever seen and very bright. The girl was glowing in the sun brightly as if anyone could see her a mile away and she was breathtakingly was way more prettier than Enna. Enna couldn't help but stare in awe but snapping herself out of it, she squealed and ducked down into the water trying to hide herself seeing the girl's eyes meeting her own. Their meeting was scary and Enna wasn't sure whether she was a predator or not but Enna couldn't risk it.
Ducking under the water, Enna in hope, prayed that the girl wouldn't find her, transforming into her marine creature. Her size slowly shriek until she was only the size of a quarter, her small jelly-like features floating around. This was her only way to hide as she was pretty small and was hard to be spotted in this form but her dim glow that she emit was still visible to see, squirming her way to safety before the girl also went after her,"Scary! I'm gonna be eaten!" Enna thought trying to find a place to hide.
-Sorry this is short for now DX-
Nika relaxed her hands and flipped so she was floating on her back, more like letting herself sink while looking toward the surface. What was it like up there? Could it possibly be as beautiful as the sea? Nika had never seen the land before, but she had heard interesting things about it- how people lived and worked there before the ice hit. She heard about the warm volcanoes and the rich soil that produced all kinds of food. She knew that people didn't always have tails or even extra appendages- that they walked on legs and could swim with their own limbs. What was that like? Nika sighed to herself, lost in a daydream for several long moments before thinking that she should probably get moving. Though the community center wasn't all that far away, she hated the thought of being late to something so important.
The young woman turned right-side-up and started to swim, but something caught her gaze. Light. The brilliant shine was coming from somewhere above her, and it was quite beautiful. Nika could just make out a figure as the source, but then she noticed something different. There was another glimmer in the sea, not far away from her. It was a barely noticeable light, but it was enough to make Nika investigate cautiously.
"Um...hello?" she said gently. Although she was rather large, Nika knew that some other creatures were very small. She wasn't familiar with that many of them, and she hoped she wasn't actually talking to an inanimate speck. But what was the harm in trying? "Hello, I hope I didn't frighten you," she said to Enna. Nika couldn't see the girl's figure clearly, and she didn't want to approach so suddenly since she knew her size could be quite intimidating for a small creature. She thought of something, wondering if perhaps this small being was also on her way to the community center. Though it may be a long shot they were on the same quest, perhaps they both had the same destination for different reasons. "You wouldn't happen to be going to the community center by the sunken lifeboat, would you?"
