Appearance


Belle is very skinny and tall, standing at 5'9". She likes to mess around with her appearance (and the people that know her) and wear something different everyday, or change her hair, or steal her mother's old fancy skirts from the closet and wear them to school and constantly trip over her own feet, but she won't care. One day Belle will have her hair down to her waist, the next she'll cut it all off 'till she looks like a guy. She is certainly outrageous when it comes to how she looks and most everything she does. Belle has a long neck (her father calls her Giraffe as a joke) and small lips, with a cute button nose. Her eyes are a light hazel color and her hair is a dirty blonde. Belle can often be found in front of the mirror trying on new outfits or just entirely messing around. She doesn't care what others think of her, she only dresses up because she likes to feel like someone else. She won't tell anyone that, though.


Personality Strengths


Belle is very loud. Seriously, very loud. Maybe this seems like a weakness to you, but to her it's great. She is not afraid to be herself and get her point across, and if someone isn't listening, oh, she will make them listen. Belle is very outgoing and loyal, but if there's something that she believes that is right, something that she believes needs to be fought for, she will do whatever it takes. Belle never stops until the job is done and is an incredibly dedicated person and hard worker. She always, always has an idea and when put under pressure she can either crumble horribly or excel incredibly. In a sticky situation, she will just spit out ideas until one becomes moderately plausible. The best way to describe Belle would be to call her a wild card. Although she may be loud and even at times obnoxious, but Belle is incredibly brave and she will do her best to protect the ones she loves. She may not be an athlete or quick or clever but she knows what's right and what's wrong. Belle is very friendly, loving, and she can read people fairly well. Belle loves to laugh, and see others laugh, and just mess around.

If life isn't about living it to the fullest, enjoying every second, then what's the point? To live and die? Is that really all there is to it? Well.. then I think that's stupid. Belle

Personality Weaknesses

The death of Belle's mother (later explained in Background) broke her. She hides it well, but her outrageous is rather strange.. it can sometimes feel unnatural, as if she's laughing too hard at your joke because she can feel very uncomfortable around others, although she may not seem like it. Belle really is loving and trusting and fun, but if you say something that hits a soft spot.. there's no telling what she'll do. She could lash out at you or she could run away crying. As I said.. wild card. While it looks like Belle is entirely trusting you with herself, her secrets, her love, she's really not telling you much. She's had a troubling past and she's trying every day to push it deep deep down. She doesn't want to be a broken little girl. She wants to be who she shows herself as. Kind, caring, funny, sweet, a woman who can take care of herself.. but she's just a little girl at heart. She just needs a lot of love. Belle is very all around. If you throw something unexpected at her, she could take it and throw it right back at you, or let it hit her in the gut, or hit a home run with it. She's not the sharpest knife in the drawer but she's a creative young lady in her own special way. Belle isn't very great at the standard school subjects like math and science and history, and she doesn't enjoy being asked a question of any of those subjects. She'll just think up a way out of it.

Background

Belle's father, Henry Arieye was on vacation in Brittany, France when he met Anais Cardon. It was love at first sight, at least for Henry. Anais was one of those girls who played 'hard-to-get' he walked right over and asked for her phone number, and she slapped him in the face. They kept on meeting each other all around the city, though, and finally, Henry won her over. Henry was a true New Yorker, and once they married, there as the big decision of where they would live. After many long discussions, it was decided they would live in New York but visit Brittany often. When Belle was born, there is no describing the happiness that Anais and Henry experienced. In their arms was their tiny little girl, their little ball of sunshine. They gave her all her love. Belle returned the favor. She was close with her family. Although she was an only child, Belle never was a spoiled brat. Although she struggled early on in school she excelled in art and music, and her parents didn't mind. "Everyone has their strengths, and everyone has their weaknesses. It's fine, my girl, it's fine." Henry would say to his daughter every time she brought home an F in math because she just couldn't grasp how to add X + Y to equal Z and the teachers did not care for her. Her parents hired private tutors for her and slowly she got better. At an early age Belle was making friends. There were two boys that lived on her street, Axel and Jacob. They grew close. Playing together, joking together, they sat at lunch together. But Axel was leaning towards the darker sides of New York and Anais forbid Belle from seeing Axel any longer. Belle was upset. One of her best friends was being taken from her. She lashed out, called her parents nasty things (nasty things meaning 'meanie' and 'stupid') and slammed the room to her door. After that, she was quiet for the next couple months. Jacob was her savior, in a way. He comforted her. "You'll be fine. These things happen.." He was so young but he was clever early on. He loved Belle, since the day he met her. Finally he kissed her. The class couple, everyone called them. They laughed, they cooed. But it was all a new thing for Belle and Jacob, they were still so young, it was much too soon. They kept it a secret from their parents. It was never truly serious anyway. Anais went to Brittany by herself to visit an old grandmother. "I'll be back in just a couple weeks. There's no need to drag you all along." She had said. Maybe she was right. Maybe it was best that Belle and Henry didn't accompany her. Because she never came back. The meteor hit that week. Her body was never found. It tore Henry and Belle apart. The two changed greatly, instead of the loud people they were they became quiet. Henry never truly recovered but Belle tried to pretend she moved on. Jacob took her to the park. Told Belle she wasn't the same. Told her that maybe they weren't supposed to be together. She punched him in the face and left. They haven't spoken since. No one ever did truly find out why Jacob's nose was purple. When the construction of Meteor Island was finished, Henry tried to convince Belle to move. "A new start. Don't you crave some fresh air, Belle? I'm so sick of this place. It's stale. Everything reminds me of your mom. I can't take it anymore." Henry told Belle. Belle loved New York, she was a city girl to the bone, but her father was right. It hurt too much. So they moved. She left everything she knew to begin a new life on Meteor Island.

Maybe if we take wood and steel and put it together we can have something like stood! Oh, dangit, that's already a word. Belle

Interests, Quirks and Other


Belle loves to draw and play music. She sings and plays the piano. She is very talented in music but Belle never truly loved it. She loves art and drawing, but she's okay at it. Certainly not a prodigy, but if she just forced herself to watch some more how-to videos she'd be much better. Belle has a pretty bad fear of swimming (because that is supposedly how her mother died) and also a fear of snakes. If she has to get up in the middle of the night, she can get really scared, but usually she'll manage. Belle dislikes jewelry, calling it too clunky, but she's never really had a special bracelet or necklace or ring given to her by someone important that she's felt the need to wear. Belle also does not like it when people cuss or swear. She will try to get away from the person cussing as fast as she can, literally, she will just run away. She is currently in Year 13.
