Tae (pronounced Tie)

Appearance

• Tae is a taller than an average human and is fairly thin but with (artificial) muscle tones.
• He weighs a lot despite appearances, it’s not easy for a single person to carry him but it is possible.
• Unlike many humanoid robots his movements are very fluid and graceful, he’s surprisingly flexible, and he can move fairly quickly without making too much noise.
• Due to the damages, his arms and legs no longer have ‘skin’ but what skin remains is pale, white like a doll, and flawless without freckle or scar. In fact, his face even seems to have ‘makeup’
• He has black, think, shiny hair hair seems completely natural to the touch
• His voice is normally without any kind of auto tune to it although it often comes off as robotic simply because of lack of emotion. He can speak several languages fluently too!
• Tae even seems to emulate normal human functions such as blinking and breathing (unless turned off or charging) although he is completely incapable of eating or drinking.
• His 'earnings' are actually extendable cords, his tongue has micro speakers, and that is just a handful of secrets his body contains.
• His eyes match the color of whatever setting his owner puts his holograms/projections on. His default however is an extremely bright blue.

Current Condition-

• Memory bank manually removed, not broken. This makes him remember nothing from his past and, until it is replaced, he can only remember a day at a time excluding his new owner’s identity.
• Skin on arms and hands damaged to the point that removing it was the only solution. There is also a crack on his cheek, but it can be covered with makeup or even passed off as a tattoo.
• Due to missing skin, Tae is no longer fully waterproof. He can get wet but not submerged and being out in heavy rain for a long time is also dangerous.
• Hard drive almost completely erased, as if the deletion process was stopped before it was finished. But it seems like any programs, apps, or settings that are under password protection are intact but inaccessible without the code. They are active though...
• The ball in his right shoulder, which serves to make that arm not only function but flexible, is cracked and now Tae can barely move that arm at all and if he manages to do so, it is choppy and clearly robotic. It would take a master to fully repair this part of him since his flexibility and fluid motions are part of what make him so unique.
• Due to damages in the eye, that are not visible from the outside, any holograms, projections, or other display features the image will occasionally flicker almost static like, but it always returns.
• Other than above, everything else seems to be remarkably intact due to the metal shell not being broken through in most places. Cooling, ability to connect to the internet, sensory functions, etc. are at least functional if not undamaged.

Tae is the latest model Dorian Douglas secretly made for his own use, one of four actually. Unlike the previous human PETs though, Tae is more of a jack of all trades, an attempt to combine social proficiency, fighting capabilities, and intelligence in one. Due to the fact that he is newly made, at least in comparison, he has not been seen with Dorian as much as the others. Thanks to this his face is not yet widely known although there are bound to be a handful of people who will recognize him from either the background of Dorian interviews or the bot fights he frequented. Since the accident though, Tae does not consciously remember any of this. Newly awakened, Tae has lost a lost of his past social progress and is back to square one, relying completely on information he can find online. This leads him to taking everything incredibly literally and logically, not understanding jokes, sarcasm, and even metaphors. Emotions are a new concept to him, and he cannot feel, understand, or express them. As a sort of plus side, he is extremely protective. Meaning, not only will he save you from a mugger without thought but he will stop even a soccer ball from coming towards you as if it were a bullet. He is not afraid to take matters into his own hands either, his programming efficient enough to give himself commands. For example, he will clean and cook without being told to, and in general he will always strive to serve.

Hei-Jin "Phoenix" Lau

Appearance

• Phoenix is 5'6" and weighs 132 lbs. She has a slim build, with not much muscle to her.
• She has a heart-shaped face with soft, rounded features that make her look younger than she is.
• Her true eye colour is brown, but she typically wears coloured contact lenses (green, blue, or purple) when she is not at home.
• Her natural hair is very thick and black, but it is chronically dyed. Currently, it is a dark, inky blue with a slate gray balayage. It is naturally straight, but she will occasionally give it a bit of a curl in the morning while she styles her straight bangs. Generally, she does her best to maintain her hair and keep it as healthy as possible, considering all the treatments she puts it through.
• Skincare is also important to her, and so her fair skin is usually soft and free of blemishes - and anything that does pop up is covered up under her daily makeup. Other than that, she has a medium-sized tattoo of a lotus between her shoulder blades, and a small tattoo of an eye on her left wrist.
• Phoenix also has several piercings on each ear: two in each earlobe, one in each cartilage, and an industrial piercing on her right ear.
• Typically, she will wear dark, form-fitting clothes unless she has to dress otherwise for work.

Personality

• Phoenix is not a loud, boisterous person, but she is also far from a shy wallflower. She has an air of quiet confidence, and is the type of person who will say exactly what she needs to, when she needs to - especially if she disagrees with something.
• In a similar vein, she has a bit of a temper and will unabashedly show it, occasionally taking it out on people who don't deserve to be on the receiving end.
• Generally she is fairly blunt and is not known to sugarcoat things for people or let anyone down easily. In fact, it even seems like she enjoys giving a hard time to people she dislikes.
• She can be fairly vain and self-indulgent, with a particularly strong sense of pride. Similarly, she is known to be an enabler of other people's vanity and self-indulgence as well.
• While she is hot-headed, it is difficult to hurt her feelings. Phoenix is the type of person to let insults roll off her shoulders, and not let anyone really get her down.
• Despite her flaws, she has a strong sense of duty and responsibility, and will always do her best to honour her commitments to people and tasks.
• She is also generous and enjoys helping others - but only those she has decided are deserving of her charity and time (to be fair though, she has low standards for this).

History

• Hei-Jin was born in China to a young couple with little money but a healthy work ethic. Her childhood was generally happy and uneventful. Then, when she was in her early teens, her grandfather passed away suddenly, leaving her parents to care for her chronically ill grandmother.
• They moved her into their home, and life changed. She assisted her mother in caring for her grandmother, on top of keeping up with her studies. Meanwhile, her father began to work longer and longer hours. However, despite this change in her family's lifestyle, everything appeared to be going fairly well. Hei-Jin was a good student, with good prospects for her future.
• Her grandmother passed away just as she graduated secondary school. After that, she traveled abroad for university and chose the name Phoenix for her English-speaking peers to use
• Then, when she was in her last year, it came to light that her father had developed a gambling addiction, and had accumulated a massive debt over the years.
• Instead of pursuing medical school as she had planned, she took whatever jobs she could get so she could start sending money home to help her family. Over the years she has been a waitress, retail associate, PET repair tech, promoter, dog walker, and cleaning lady - to name a handful.
• Since then, her life has been the same: work her ass off, pay for rent and necessities, send money home, then spend what little is left in pampering herself with material goods.
• While she has changed jobs a few times over the years, for the last year she has worked steadily as a bartender while taking odd jobs on the side.

Dorian Douglas

Age: 29
Appearance:

Dorian is a successful inventor, considered one of the most brilliant minds when it comes to robotics and AI. He was the first one to create portable AI which he dubbed PET (portable electronic tech) and this creation has taken the place of computer and cellphones almost completely. That is not all though, at night he is known among the underground robot wars, an illegal fighting competition between a pair of robots, and he is the most violent and dangerous competitor they have ever seen. He has won nearly every fight he participated in and has been known to take the fight outside the ring when he feels insulted or threatened. Basically, he is ruthless in all things; he has no problem stepping over allies, enemies, or his own robots if it means that he will succeed. That being said, publically he is known as a polite, hard-working, private man. Despite the complex AI he has given his robots, they are still just tools to him that are around only to serve him. In fact, so are other humans. He has kept his best robots to himself, humanoid androids made for protecting him and killing his enemies, but they are so human-like no one can even tell which of his guards are human and which are machines.

Aiki

Appearance:

• Despite the image above, Aiki's hands do not look like that. They appear normal for the most part, although a bit large and tougher than average.
• Aiki's eyes actually do look like that, so he always wears sunglasses no matter if he is inside or outside. It is like a cheesy secret agent type of thing
  • He will break the hand of anyone who tries to take them off his face, and even mid-battle, he will prioritize his sunglasses over everything besides Dorian himself.
• Aiki is big. Whereas Tae is tall bit fairly slim/lanky, Aiki is tall and clearly muscular. He takes up a lot of space and weights even more that Tae does because of that.
• Under his clothing, Aiki actually looks like a robot. His chest, back, and legs are just metal, but his face, hands, neck, and wrists all look perfectly human and skin-like.
  • This is because Aiki was the first human PET Dorian tried to make hyper realistically, so he only prioritized what would actually be seen by the public.
• Related to the above, Aiki is always wearing long-sleeved shirts and long pants no matter the heat. He won't even take off his coat.
• His "core" is located mid-back and is fairly large.

Aiki is the very first human-looking PET he ever made, meaning that in comparison to Tae and the other two that came after, Aiki is easily the most inhuman in shape and mind. And his original purpose was to be a source of muscle and combat, meaning that Aiki is the physically strongest/toughest of all of the human PETs. Of course, Dorian has upgraded him since then, but there are aspects to Aiki's design that cannot be gotten rid of without starting from scratch such as his eyes and mental simplicity. Unlike Tae who, even before Lai.pro, could fake feel or understand emotions to a certain degree, Aiki cannot even attempt to do these things. He is a blank, emotionless slate, but due to this, he often comes off as harsh, impatient, cold, and critical. He is also not the smartest, lacking the hacking and fast internet search skill that Tae does. He has only been programmed for protection, security, and combat, and for this reason, Aiki would likely beat Tae in a normal face to face fight.

The world knows Aiki as Dorian's head bodyguard and longest employed bodyguard. He is also known to have broken the hands of the few people that dared to touch Dorian while he was around. Of course, since they made the first move or maybe money, Aiki never even got arrested once for being a bit more violent than needed to protect his "boss." To this day, he is still with Dorian almost every time he goes out in public.

Kyu

Appearance:

• His "core" is located in his brain, just behind his right eye.​

The second human PET Dorian ever made and generally the smart one. He is able to hack, store the most data, and calculate at lightning speeds. Best at ranged weapons due to there being guns within his body, but also because he can calculate how bullets will bounce off of things before or after hitting the target. That being said, he was not built to fight so is the weakest to physical attacks of all of the PETs.

Publically, he is more Dorian's in-office assistant. You won't find him walking around the city very often, but if you call Dorian's office, Kyu will pick up to deal with the problem or answer questions. That being said, he is very cold and bases every thought, word, and action on data. His manners are only slightly better than Aiki.

Lai

Appearance:

• Similar to Tae, she is abnormally beautiful with few flaws. She has the ideal body shape and the confidence to flaunt it.
• Her "core' is located mid-chest but blends in better than the above image. Even still, her dresses are more likely to show side-boob than cleavage.

The third PET Dorian ever made, and she was designed to look the most human of the bunch. She also has the most complex social abilities, able to best manipulate and react to emotions as well as display them herself. She can even cry and have sex.

Publically, Lai is known as Dorian's wife. They had a public wedding, are seen attending gala's together, and takes part in some interviews too. She is not as informed as others within the company, but she does attend a lot of events Dorion is too busy too and hosts charity events herself to keep the company name flourishing. For all purposes, it seems like she and Dorian are in the honeymoon stage despite it being years since they married.

Carter Harrington

Age: 63
Position: Founder and CEO of Arc Royale

• Arc Royale is a conglomerate that grew from humbler beginnings as a trading company. It is a parent company to several successful mining and manufacturing companies that have locations worldwide. While it is most known for its industrial subsidiaries, a few notable tech companies were recently acquired by the corporation.​

Appearance: Carter's hair is now lined with grey. His face and body are a bit broader, but he still boasts a strong, square jawline and his extra weight has only served to make his 6'3" frame even more commanding. He keeps his mustache trim, his beard shaved, and his clothes in pristine condition. The glasses he wears have always been rimless, allowing for a full view of his striking, pale blue eyes.

Personality: In addition to what remains of his Southern accent, Carter seems to maintain the air of a 'Southern Gentleman', a man who is debonair, yet polite and refined in a down-to-earth manner. However, while he speaks with consideration and good manners, there is a definite authority behind his words. Moreover, he is a cold, calculating, and even ruthless man, and his charming demeanour does not conceal that - at least, not unless he wants it to.

• Always likes to keep his options open; some of his closest associates have noticed allusions to Carter's interest in entering the humanoid PET business.​
