Azshari

These dog-like creatures are the principal animated manifestations of the mysterious entity known as the Taint. They are made up of rock and the Taint's signature dark purple crystalline growth, pulsing with corrupted magical energy. They act much like a typical wild dog would, using their sharp claws and teeth to assault their victims without any regard for pain or danger to themselves. The Azshari are usually only found in places where the Taint has a sufficiently strong presence. Though fast, agile, and fearless, they are susceptible to shattering effects and do not exhibit high intelligence.

Manticore

In appearance, manticores have the body of a lion with reptilian wings and a scorpion's tail. Contrary to popular belief, their bite is not venomous - though that does not make it less lethal, as they can bite with enough strength to snap bones. A manticore's tail sting contains deadly poison that at first only paralyzes the target, but will eventually cause death within minutes unless an antidote is applied. Despite their aggressive nature, manticores usually won't attack unless hunting or threatened. They are territorial and unlike to pursue targets outside their own territory.

Manticores are almost exclusive to the deserts of Daskárd where they live in small groups, choosing mountain cave systems for their lairs. They will hunt whenever hungry, day or night, usually alone. Their victims are devoured whole, often together with clothes and bones. These beasts are counted among the most dangerous in Asgard, so many Drakkar take pride in the manticores they've slain, taking their heads as trophies. There are different tactics for fighting a manticore, but the most successful ones involve crippling their ability to fly.

Nargyen

Nargyen are scaly, nocturnal beasts believed to be descendant from dragons. They have the ability to attack with practically every part of their body - the bladed wings, spiked tail, razor claws, sharp beak and teeth - but their tail is their most powerful weapon. Often neglected by their foes due to their attention-drawing head and front claws, it is the tail that most often brings death. The Nargyen's vertebrae and tail muscles are incredibly flexible which makes it faster than most prey. Though their wings are not capable of flight, their strong leg muscles allow them to jump long distances. Young Nargyen are the size of large dogs, with fully grown adults reaching even larger proportions.

Nargyen used to be exclusive to Daskárd but have slowly spread and today they can be found in all regions of the continent. With their perfect night vision they inhabit dark places, preferably underground, and come out at night to hunt in forests where there is plenty of cover. They are, above all else, stealth predators that rely on sneaking up to their prey whenever possible even when the prey is obviously no match for them. This cautious attitude coupled with the fact that they always hunt in small groups makes them a deadly foe that is better avoided. The nargyen's chief weakness is light - the brighter the better.

Undead

The Undead are corpses brought back to life through necromancy. Their appearance can vary based on the state of decomposition of the reanimated body, so they can be nothing more than skeletons baring bones or corpse-like fleshy monsters. The Undead is a general term that applies to reanimated bodies of all kinds. Most Undead are near-mindless husks, capable only of the most primitive tasks and bound in eternal service to the necromancer who raised them. They attack relentlessly, with no regard for their own preservation. However, a necromancer may bind an actual spirit to a body, thus reanimating it with the entity in control. These kind of Undead are rarer, stronger, and possess the intelligence of the entity that occupies the body. When fighting the Undead, dismemberment is the most effective tactic.
