Name: Bela Poujoly

Age: 32

Gender: Male

Race: Mauman

Appearance: Of average height and weight, Bela might not look like much at first. He's fairly slender, with some muscle having formed over the years of running, jumping, and escaping the number of people he's pissed off in bars and taverns. He has short, curly, naturally red hair and beard, which he tries to take good care of. His eyes may be brown, but in them you can see a dark red flame, reflecting the tones of his hair.

Internal

Personality: Bela, on the first view, doesn't take anything seriously. He takes life easily, like a joke - he is easy going, and doesn't care much for rules and any kind of code, be it the social or moral code. He strolls through the life with a lazy step. He is, nothing unusual for a bard, a passionate storyteller and an extroverted entertainer, using his skills to charm the people into trusting him and letting their guards down, while he pickpockets their money and leaves them his tab to pay. His act is his most powerful weapon, his charisma and charm serve him better than a sword or knife. He is no fighter. He flerts, he acts, he tells stories, he compliments people, he insults them - as long as he can blind them with his razzle-dazzle performance, and get the needed reaction out of them. Bela is a theatre person, who sells both truths and lies, and masks them as the opposite. He does it all for money and a good laugh.

However, there is a deeper side to him and his easy-going nature. Despite presenting himself to others like there is not a single ounce of loyalty inside him, he can be a loyal and trustful follower. Even if he joined the guild just for money, once settled in the group, he won't simply abandon it and run away. He won't admit it, but if you know him well enough, you'll be able to see the spark of pure, nearly doglike loyalty - but only if he truly believes in the goal of his actions.

History: Bela grew up in a poor, working family - that wasn't even his. A nice woman took him in when he was left at her door as a child, and treated him like one of her own children. He grew up with another six of them, his childhood being fun and hard at the same time - despite the hardships of working on the farm, he still had his adoptive sibilings whom he loved very much. Bela started visiting the taverns at early age, gambling, drinking, and being a con artist. Even as a child, he loved making up stories and playing-pretend, or telling them to his adoptive family. They'd sit together after the fieldwork, and Bela would speak - he would talk about dragons and heroes with such character and passion that soon even other families started joining them. The kid showed outstanding musical talent too - and his adoptive father dug out an old lute, which Bela would play on. He had no money for a legit academy, despite his wit and obvious gifts. Even if he had, who knows how it'd end - he was too free spirited for tight sitting inside a tower and learning. His family felt bad about seeing him waste his talents on the fieldwork, and they supported him into leaving the home. So he did.

Goals: To see as much of the world as possible. To have fun. To drink.

Fears: Fear of settling in, fear of losing his creativity, fear of having to deal with things seriously, fear of attachment.

Combat

Class: Bard

Patron deity: Amnai

(Despite not looking like it, Bela is rather religious, and often prays for Her guidance.)

Gear: Light robe and a cloak. He has nothing metal on himself. Also, a lute, tied on his back.

Weapons: A small knife, and a whip.

Spells:

Illusion creation - Well, not literally. Bela can't make true illusions, however, while he narrates the story, smokey, colorful visuals show in front of him, showing the story like a little animated movie. This is something children adore, and he uses it mostly for them. He adores children, and loves to tell them stories, and that's probably the only use of his powers he has no ulterior motives for. It's a power he uses to either impress or comfort people, and rarely uses it for cheating and lying. It's just a fun power that he uses only for good, happy and positive emotions. It keeps the goodness in him alive.

Bardic performance - With his singing, Bela can inspire people. Not in making their lives suddenly seem worthy, but in way of pushing their emotional reactions. If he's singing a happy song, he can enchant positive emotions, if he's singing a sad song, he can fuel sad feelings, making people feel the way he wants. If he needs his team to make accurate shots, he sings about the bowman who never missed a shot, if he needs to get truth out of someone, he sings about that. This is not just him being a good musician, it's actually an effect he is very aware of and knows how to use to his advantage.

Bardic knowledge - When meeting a person/situation/object of certain importance, a bit of info is revealed to him through a song verse. Well. Importance is kind of subjective. He sometimes checks random strangers in clubs to get a verse about them, simply for laughs. Or stuff like a cooking pot. It can be lots of fun.
