Personality: Now having the ability to become human, Azura is quite eager and curious about the human world despite her past. Mostly talks in third person because she’s still learning the human language, but is rather intelligent and sharp although she has a tendency to act like a child. Azura has a monstrous appetite, befitting that of, well, a dragon. Loves to learn. However, she takes things a little too literally sometimes, so if someone tells her to eat someone, she’ll do it unless stopped. Usually cheerful, but can be serious when the situation calls for it. She’s also not one you want to get angry, because bad things happen. Prefers peace, as a violent atmosphere can get her dragon blood a-pumping.
Backstory: Born into a clan of proud dragons, Azura spent her early years as a hatchling in rather peaceful tranquility. However, most of the clan was so prideful that they could almost be considered arrogant, didn’t worship the gods at all, and possessed a…dislike of humanity for the destruction they caused. The gods were angered by this, and in a fit of righteous fury bestowed a little curse onto the clan. This curse would make the dragons turn feral if they stayed in their natural forms, so the creatures were forced to gain the ability to become human. Some were determined to remain in their natural forms, falling into despair as a result, becoming wild and losing all sense of self. Those that became human realized they were much weaker in that form, and they had few of the abilities that they did as dragons. They couldn’t breathe fire because their human forms didn’t have the proper organs for it, and neither could they speak the dragonic language for the same reason, but could still understand it. While they still maintained the ability to turn back into dragons, they couldn’t remain in that form for too long, lest they turn feral, so they had to learn what it meant to be human as well. The going was rough and it would take them a long time before they could fluently speak English.
While most cursed the gods for what happened to them, others of the dragon clan learned to embrace it and didn’t mind having a human form. In fact, they loved it. This caused a small divide among the dragons, leading to those that liked being human leaving the clan, among them being Azura and her parents. Few in number, they had to adapt to no longer being in the clan, and had to intergrate themselves into human society, hiding the fact that they were dragons. Naturally however it wasn’t easy, as they weren’t the best at English, allowing the sharper of human society to figure out who and what they were. Most of the humans accepted them, although it took time. For a time this small group of dragons knew peace once more, but that naturally couldn’t last. Some humans wanted to use their dragonic abilities for selfish gain or the military, which lead to the small group of dragons going further into hiding, separating even further. Although, some were captured by the military, among them being Azura’s parents. Azura was forced to run away lest she be captured as well, running through towns and wilderness alike until she eventually made her way to Fort Black by sheer luck.
Weapons & Armor:
Teeth and talons: In her dragon form, Azura possesses wickedly sharp talons that can easily cut through flesh and teeth that can break bone without any problems.
Dragonic Armor: As the name suggests, this armor protects Azura in both forms. In her dragon form, it makes her scales as tough as stone and resistant to magical and physical attacks. In both forms, she is resistant to fire.
Knife: For protection while in human form.
Items & Personal Belongings:
Dragonstone: A blue stone where Azura’s power to shift is sealed for her to access at any time. Without it she’s mostly powerless.
Dragon scales: Scales from her parents.
Bag: A simple bag carrying meat and gold that she got from one of the human villagers during her traveling.
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to fly: While in dragon form, Azura can travel great distances with her large wings.
Ability to breathe fire: Self explanatory.
Super strength: As a dragon, Azura can lift and destroy things up to twice her body weight.
Regenerative healing: Azura heals at an increased rate. While she can still die from serious wounds, this makes her especially tough to kill in dragon form.
