If your character isn't on the list, that's because you haven't posted as them yet. Once you have I will update this to reflect that. This doesn't mean that someone can quickly post as your character just to claim them then work backward and even then the character is still yours unless you change our mind but even then I will give you leeway. This is really just a bit of a kick in the butt to get you posting as well as let me not clutter the list with unused characters.


The list will also be updated when characters become available, this will be shown with their removal from the above list. This will most likely be brought around by the players on volition/ choice or a lack of posting (two weeks or so) but I am pretty lenient and will generally make sure people take other characters they are interested in first before resorting to giving them characters from long time absent posters.

Backstory:


To impress his father, Tony started showing interest in science from a very young age. But unfortunately young Tony never really got along with his father and had been send off to one boarding school to another. The summer and Christmas holiday which he spent with his mother and father had been filled with tales about the infamous Captain America and Howard shouting at him drunk. The only person who seemed to understand him was his mother and Jarvis - their butler - who was more of a father figure to him than his own one. 


Not even a month ago, his parents had bid their farewell to drive to a gala. Much to his shock, his parents never arrived their. In fact his father had crashed the car against a tree. By the time, someone found them, they had bled to death. His mother's death had hurt Tony deeply and ever since he refused doing everything. Guilt and grief had taken over as he blamed himself for their death or better say for his mother's death. He should've made her stay at him instead of leaving with his father. Two weeks after the funeral a man had approached him telling him about this SHIELD thing. Well, now he was here training to be a superhero. But actually he found no motivation at all.

Backstory:


Natalia was born in the USSR. Her parents had been spies and as soon as her mother gave birth to her, she was given to the Russian government. They brought her up until she was old enough for the Red Room. At first she refused to learn and was the weakest link. The girls, who were trained with her, were stronger, faster and appeared to be more intelligent. But Natasha waited for her moment and on the day the higher ups decided to use her as canon fodder, she ran away. She knocked out and killed enough soldiers to almost make it outside the guarded area. But after she had made it over the fence, she was tasered down. The young redhead awoke tied up on a bed. The Winter Soldier looked down at her quietly and she looked fearless back. That was the moment, she had been taken under his wing and trained to become the most dangerous spy out there. By the age of 15 she had mastered most martial arts and her weak spot ballet. Natasha had even managed to make a name for herself - needless to say it was because of the red line she was leaving behind. After all she had a perfect record of 10/10 kills.


Her last mission for Russia had been gone terribly wrong. She was separated from the Winter Soldier and a marksman from SHIELD had almost killed her. The archer made a different call instead and brought her to some kind of training camp. Now she was monitored 24/7 and what felt like a prisoner to those SHIELD guys but at least it was better than death.

Superhero Identity: The Silver Surfer

Appearance: 

Personality: The Silver Surfer has always had a rough time showing emotion or affection that most humans are so easily share with one another, he tries to spend a good deal with them to learn how to to show that bit of humanity that he never really had while in space or back in his home world. The Silver Surfer somehow feels alienated within the campus due to his unfamiliarity with the planet and its dwellers. Like most who struggle with socializing he find most of his enjoyment from the wild life than with most humans and would generally spend most of his time alone with around wildlife.



Powers/Skills/Abilities: The Silver Surfer was discovered by SHIELD very different from their last encounter with the man, he looks much younger looking and is at a loss of memory so for that he struggles with his cosmic power. From what SHIELD has seen from the younger surfer his capabilities are... 


Resistance: The cosmic power which makes the Surfer...silver also proves as a solid way of protecting himself


Regeneration: He has seen to be able to regenerate his board if ever destroyed


Phasing: Can phase through solid object but only for so long


Stamina: The Surfer requires no food or drink to sustain himself


Energy Absorption: The silver skin isn't just for show it is used to absorb various energies particles to light...though this may be limited due to his dramatic change


Flight: Can fly at incredible speeds with his board


Telepathy: Can speak to those telepathically and also read minds but chooses to never do that.

Backstory: The Silver Surfer was discovered by S.H.I.E.L.D as thought to be a comet of some kind but in reality it was the surfer crash landing into New York City unconscious, He was safeguarded by SHIELD and given a proper means of living while he remained in slumber, while the surfer was unconscious they discovered that his cosmic power had been severely dampened and he even looked much younger and smaller that when he was last seen within earth. After much testing and diagnostics The Surfer awoke in the facility and immediately went on the defensive hoping on his board and flying away, SHIELD managed to catch him thanks to quick work of the Fantastic Four and was told of of his current situation. The Surfer being obviously cautious spoke within the minds of those who would listen and informed them that he had no idea what was going on or where he was. Upon saying this SHIELD realized that this silver boy was not the same Silver Surfer they knew in the past but some sort of devolved version or reincarnation of the older silver surfer, they later realized seeing the obvious damage of his board and the child that he was recently in battle possibly evading Galactus which is possible that he may of played a part in creating this new Ex-Herald. SHIELD debating on what to do with the boy decided to enroll the Surfer into Avengers Academy so the Surfer could train with his cosmic powers to one day become mentally and physically prepared for his trails in the distant future though he will be closely monitored in case any sort of change happens while enrolled.

Backstory: Loki, born as the biological son of Laufey, was soon abandoned after his birth as he was unusually small for a Frost Giant and was left at a temple to die. Odin found him there and took him with him to Asgard, raising him together with his son Thor. Growing up, Loki always felt like he was living in Thor's shadow and was envious to him for being the future king. Things grew worse at home after he found out about his real father and origin which ended in him being sent to the Avengers Academy by his father to teach him discipline.

Powers/Skills/Abilities: Seismic Energy Manipulation - he's able to create earthquakes by transferring vibrations from within himself into the ground. He can also send vibrations out through the air, but it's less effective (destructive) than sending it through a solid object. 


Geo-connectivity - Julio has an empathetic connection to the earth.

Backstory:


Julio grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico to a family of gun runners. Too young to fully understand the gravity of the crimes he did his best to be useful to his family. When his died in a gun deal gone bad, his powers manifested. In his grief he destroyed three full city blocks, killing not only drug dealers but innocent civilians. He was run off, immediately accepting that he was too dangerous to stay.


For a while he wandered around Mexico in a deep depression. He couldn't get the images of the destruction he'd caused out of his head. It was almost too much to keep living, but his powers caught the attention of a mysterious man named Cable. The man saw potential in the teenager, but knew he needed a lot of training to control his earth shattering powers, but he had his own mission to complete, instead he sent him to Nick Fury, hoping Shield and the Academy could train Julio.

Personality: Steven is a mild-mannered young man, disciplined, he's very ambitious and determined and will never let an opportunity slip past him. Steven is very responsible, known-not to do something irresponsible, he has wisdom beyond his age-- well, maybe not beyond, he's like sixty years old. He's very mature, an inspirational leader figure and stands up for justice. 


Powers/Skills/Abilities:


Artificially Enhanced Physiology: Rogers has no superhuman powers, although as a result of the Super-Soldier Serum, he was transformed from a frail young man into a "perfect" specimen of human development and conditioning. Rogers is as intelligent, strong, fast, agile, and durable as possible for a human being to be without being considered superhuman. The SSS is definite, even if he chose to live an unhealthy lifestyle, none of his abilities would weaken.[citation needed]

• Enhanced Strength: Rogers' physical strength is enhanced to the very peak of human potential. Captain America had been seen bench pressing 544 kg/1,200 lbs on each side of the bar, which is consistent with his strength level, as benching is easier than military press lifting.[citation needed] This strength also extends to his legs, enabling him to leap 6m/20ft out in a single bound and 10ft/3m into the air without a running start. He can snap steel handcuffs and chains, and is capable of breaking through wooden walls and steel doors with a single kick.[citation needed]
  
• Enhanced Speed: Rogers can move at speeds faster than even the finest human athlete. He can run at speeds of up to a mile in a minute (60 mph).[citation needed]
  
• Enhanced Durability: His bones and muscles are denser and harder and so are amplified to the highest human potential, making him very durable. Master Tactician and Strategist: Rogers is an accomplished strategist. He had been widely considered one of, if not the greatest, tacticians on the planet, both on and off the battlefield. He is able to formulate battle strategies and his brilliant tactical sense allows him to alter any strategy to fit the changing need of the situation.[citation needed]


Master Martial Artist: He is an expert in hand-to-hand combat being very skilled in multiple martial arts through his training in military combatives and instruction under various private instructors (he may have learned most of his initial knowledge from WW2 trainers such William Fairbairn and Rex Applegate who pioneered most the methods utilized in that period).[121][122] Rogers utilizes Boxing, Judo and various other disciplines with his gymnastics ability creating a style that suits his strengths and enables him to use his knowledge to the best of his ability. He is considered one of the finest martial artists on Earth.[citation needed]


Master Shield Fighter: His years of training and experience with his unique shield, as well as its physical properties, allow him to accomplish amazing feats with the item. Aside from bashing foes and blocking incoming attacks, he is able to throw it with nearly perfect aim. Rogers can hit multiple targets with the same throw by means of ricochet, and could even achieve a boomerang-like return effect, allowing him to strike enemies from behind or retrieve the shield without objects to ricochet from.[citation needed]


Advanced Military Operator: He is well-versed in all Armed force disciplines including intelligence gathering, escape arts, assassination, demolition, survival tactics, hunting, swimming, mountaineering, march/drill skills, map making and reading, decoding cipher and other secret code messages, reading and making wood craft signs and other secret code languages, disguising, interrogation, computers, explosives, communication systems, vehicles and electronic appliances used in armed forces.[citation needed]


Master Acrobat: His years of training and experience have made him an expert acrobat, gymnast, and aerialist. He often utilizes these talents in combat for both evasive and offensive purposes.[citation needed]

Backstory:


(this is gonna be a bit rocky, I'm using different aspects of different versions of him here to fit in with the story!)


After the events of the movie Days of Future Past (Pietro helps Charles Xavier break into the Pentagon to rescue Erik Lensherr), Pietro causes a scandal at his school when he participates in a track and field competition and breaks 8 world records. An investigation is conducted on him, and when he is discovered to be a mutant, Trask Industries create a new genetic testing policy with athletic officials, saying that no one carrying the X-Gene is allowed to compete in professional athletic events. Because of the uproar, he is discovered by Nick Fury and because of his criminal past (of course Fury knows about the Pentagon, not to mention all of the trouble he gets in at school and his kleptomanic tendencies), he is offered a place at the Academy and forced to go by his mother.

Superhero Identity : Nova

Appearance :


Brown hair and eyes with the same color, although only few people have seen his actual face. 6'1" and has quite the athletic shape.

Personality : His tall and muscular figure casts him as a serious and imposing figure, but it's actually quite the opposite. Cocky and humorous, he frequently banters in battle, annoying even the most stoic of all foes (a trait shared with a certain spider). He takes into account what is happening right now, and has an easy-going nature. Emotions fuel his actions over simple logic, a trait he desperately needs to erase should he strive to become an actual hero.


Powers/Skills/Abillities :


Nova derives his powers from an energy source called the Nova Force which all Nova Corps Centurions wield. This energy was transferred by Xandarian technology to Rider by the Nova-Centurion Rhomann Dey. Nova's small measure of the Nova Force gives him superhuman powers including:


Superhuman Strength: Rider is able to channel the Nova Force for the purpose of increasing his physical strength to beyond the physical limitations of the finest human athlete.


Superhuman Speed: By channeling the Nova Force properly, Rider can grant himself the ability to run and move at speeds that are beyond the physical limits of the finest human athlete. His current running speed is unknown, but it is speculated that he can at least achieve 70 km/h on foot.


Superhuman Stamina: Due to the Nova Force's augmentation of his musculature, Rider's muscles produce considerably less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of a normal human. While the full limits of his stamina aren't known, he is able to exert himself physically for at least 24 hours before fatigue toxins impair him.


Superhuman Durability: Rider's body is very resistant to all forms of conventional physical injury. He can withstand high caliber bullets, falls from tremendous heights, exposure to extremes in both temperature and pressure, energy blasts, acidic corrosives, and tremendous impact forces as a product of the Nova Force's augmentation of his physical form.


Superhuman Agility: Rider's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are far beyond the physical limits of the finest human athlete.


Superhuman Reflexes: Rider's reflexes are similarly enhanced and are far superior to those of the finest human athlete.


Flight: Rider can use the Nova Force to propel himself through the air at tremendous speeds.


Energy Generation: Rider can channel the Nova Force and expel the energy in the form of powerful concussive blasts that he often uses in combat situations. He has shown glimpses of the abillity to release powerful gravimetric pulses and beams, but he has yet to replicate it once again.


Formidable/Skilled Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Rider is a formidable combatant and has been trained by Chord, though he is naturally more comfortable at using the Nova Force's energy generating capabilities during combat.


Equipment :


Nova wears a standard Xandarian StarCorps uniform, designed to accommodate his powers without being damaged by them. The uniform is highly resistant to damage, including outer space conditions, and is airtight. In addition, the uniform has a built-in life support function that can sustain Rider under the most extreme environmental conditions, including acting as a life-support suit by locking off the mouth and eyes of the helmet. The helmet contains a radio, telescopic sights, night vision sensors, and heat imaging sensors, as well as a visual HUD for tracking energy signatures. Nova's helmet has a rigid construction and shape when worn, but becomes as malleable as cloth when it is not, allowing Rider to hide it in his civilian clothes when desired.

Backstory : Richard Rider was born in Hempstead, New York. As a teenager, he was chosen at random by the alien Rhomann Dey, last surviving Centurion of the planet Xandar's elite Nova Corps, to inherit his power and succeed him in the rank of Nova Prime following the destruction of his world by the intergalactic pirate Zorr. Having been mortally wounded in the battle that tore Xandar apart, Dey succeeded in tracking Zorr to Earth but was unable to exact vengeance due to the extent of his injuries. At death's door, Dey had little choice but to transfer his power to an unsuspecting human on the planet below, praying whomever he found will take up his cause and prove worthy of the powers he had given. 


That power had led to an unsuspecting Richard Rider, he gained great strength, invulnerability, the power to fly, and a uniform with a sealed life support system, but little instruction on how to use these new powers. Still, he took up the life a superhero, fighting crime and helping other people until such time that due to Rider's lack of knowledge to properly control his newfound powers, he nearly destroyed an apartment block trying to fight a certain villain.


Because of this, he had decided to lay low for a while and figure out how to use his abilities a bit before returning to the hero scene. One thing led to another and now here he is at Avengers Academy.

Later attacked in Central Park, Kate received the best therapy that money could buy; she also undertook an intensive physical fitness and self-defense training regimen. Determined never again to let herself or anyone else be victimized if she could prevent it. She hanged out with the other Hawkeye for awhile before S.H.E.I.L.D recruited her to the academy

Superhuman Speed: Joe has always been noted to have great superhuman speed despite his size due to the power of his gamma-charged body.
Vast Superhuman Durability: Joe's skin is extremely durable, his durability also increases with his rage. 
Healing Factor :In proportion to stress, Joe can instantly renew and augment the atomic-molecular structure of the most basic biological component, the DNA/amino acids, from which all the various uniquely tasked proteins, categorised by cell type and multiplied into tissues and organs, are formed. Joe's healing factor is superior to that of Wolverine's because it is not limited in the energy necessary to maintain this core foundation.

Psionic Webbing: Julia can utilize psionic-based webbing (psi-webs). By using psychokinetic energy, she can bind ambient free-floating molecules into strands of solid force. Her psi-webs can be used to wrap enemies, or focused into narrow web-lines that she can swing from. Due to its psychic nature, her psi-webs can be used in ways Spider-Man's webbing never could, such as causing webs to form from a distance, or controlling the movement of her webbing mentally. She can create webs of psionic energy able to hold up to 10 tons when properly anchored.
Psionic Vibrations: By casting small strands of psionic webbing into her environment, Julia can feel "psychic vibrations" reverberating through them just like a spider can feel regular vibrations through their webs. This allows her to sense the presence of other people in her vicinity, pinpointing potential attackers over a distance.

Backstory:  
A secretive government group called the Commission decided to create their own superhero and convinced Julia to take part in an "athletic study". She was unknowingly a test subject in their experiments and during them, they "accidentally" injected Julia with a mix of spider venom and exotic plant extracts, which gave her powers very similar to those of Spider-Man.
Before the death of the original Madame Web, she transferred to Julia her telepathic, precognitive and astral projection powers but this made her blind in the process. She was invited to join the Academy as their secret weapon, trained by Nick Fury himself in the control over her precognitive abilities.
