Title: Doctor

Race: Human

Physical Age: 23

Gender: Female

Appearance

Height: 5' 6"

Weight: 145 lbs

Hair Color: Dirty Yellowish Brownish

Eye Color: Blue

Notable Characteristics & Distinguishing Marks: Honestly this is just this next part rephrased

Description: Aurelia is a person whom most would mistake for a piece of furniture. She is neither exceptionally beautiful nor disgustingly ugly, really just being there, and that's about it. She moves slowly and quietly, and has the general air of not wanting to draw any attention to herself.

Personal

Opinion on the Overlord: At first, Aurelia did not like the Overlord at all. Not. One. Bit. His rule was chaos, his decisions resulted in death and destruction, and his motives were the subjugation of everything good in the world. She avoided him and his more loyal generals at all costs. Aurelia's early years were full of fear, that her motives would be discovered, or her infidelity found out, and thus, her life ended. But the Overlord had better things to do, and after a while, Aurelia stopped checking for death runes under her bed every five seconds. Soon after, she stopped carrying knives everywhere. After that, she started walking around during the hour when everybody else was up and around. A few years later she just stopped giving a care.

Opinion of the Generals: Aurelia has seen Generals come and go. She inspected them upon first arrival, tended to their wounds in combat, and often, oversaw their 'deaths' from wounds, only to come back again minutes later. While at first the assortment was terrible, she soon came to...well, not really care. General after General did something stupid, and got themselves killed, and it was Aurelia and her medics who had to go retrieve the body, drag it back to the medical tent, and clean out any wound before the General resurrected, lest they be suject to more insult calling. All Generals nevertheless insulted the medics upon their resurrection, and Aurelia soon came to give just as much of a care as she recieved. Many of them she outright dislikes, as they exhibit the distasteful behavior she has come to expect from the Overlord's armies.

Opinion on Friendships: Aurelia made most of her friends among her Medic corps: which is to say, not many. Most of the Medic corps were slaves or people punished for something, and were rarely competent, actually being more of a hindrance than a help. So, Aurelia came to accept that, 'Gee, guess I don't get friends anymore. I hate this job.' While not completely shut off from them, Aurelia has come to expect that her job does not allow them, much like an athlete who realizes he can no longer eat cookies.

Opinion on Relationships: Aurelia understands the physical mechanics of lust: therefore, she is able to resist her own bodily motivations, mostly out of digust for whatever her body might be attracted to. Aurelia hopes one day to find somebody nice out there, but for now, has shelved that idea, along with friendship, as something she can't have. She's too busy stabbing people through with needles anyway.

Opinion on Races: Aurelia likes humans. They are human. She is human. Natural. All the other races she would have normall steered away from, but because of her job, was required to learn about each and every one of them. At first they were scary. At first they were weird. After fishing arrowheads and broken swords out of hundreds of tieflings, half-orcs, and lizard men, that changed. Now they are really just an annoyance: another four pounds worth of books she needs to consult, another four hundred kinds of serum she needs to have on hand, and four more hours worth of surgery. Here, the races according to her "List of things I have a problem with": Elves, Tieflings, Nymphs, Half-orcs, Lizard Folk, and Pantheons at the least hated.

Education: Aurelia is exceptionally bright, having studied at a number of prominent colleges and universities, before they were destroyed of course. She also has the training of the best minds of her kingdom to work with, no matter how far back the event was.

Motivation: Aurelia wants to survive. Simple as that. With a life defined through escape, shaped by fear, and driven to constant flight, Aurelia's only concerns are doing whatever it takes to stay alive, safe, and sane.

History

Upbringing: Aurelia was a disaster that never happened, a curse that never came to be, and a terrible threat the the world that was never real, all as a baby! Her mother was a high-ranking official in the King's court, and her father, the King's personal surgeon. From such a prominent union came Aurelia, the daughter of the King's doctor, and therefore, a highly esteemed individual even before she could walk. Well, she ought to have been. The catch is, the pairing was something frowned upon by the court, and Aurelia's birth took the court by scandal. Viciously. Thankfully the king was more of a 'jolly Santa' than a 'Hail Caesar,' and the baby was taken into the care of the court, rather than be left on a hillside. It took a second baby, however, for the surgeon and the official to finally marry, and by then, the king had rather taken to the kid. She was given the official title of "The daughter I wish I had," and grew up in a welcome, warm environment that encouraged personal growth, civility, and a wholesome respect for others.

Most Important Event: Naturally, none of that matters when your city is blown to smithereens. Aurelia had just reached the age where her schooling would begin to train her for her chosen profession, that of a surgeon, when the Overlord appeared. The little kingdom stood no chance, especially since this army was being led by one of the most brutal Generals in service of his Dark Lord. Oddly enough, however, many escaped, as that General in question had just gotten out of a particular scrape with a different General, and was feeling quite frustrated, concerned with breaking things more than conducting a proper take-over. The Royal Guard let a break-out, blasting through the ranks of the ill-led army, and slaying a disproportionate amount of enemy combatants, suprising even the General himself, who was not able to counter the charge in time. It escaped, and the General was shamed forever, bested by a small guard from a small kingdom.

The Guard took to the road, with little left to do. The kingdom was dead, many of the leadership, slaughtered, and the future, uncertain. Captain Arcus of the Guard took command, leading the band through the country-side, and defending his nobles from all harm. Aurelia was one of the few surviving noble-born; many of the survivors were from the Guard itself, or otherwise, capable people who knew what they were doing. All were united, however, by their needs of survival, and Aurelia was soon put to use, taught to do plenty of practical things around the meager campsites they created. Arcus soon became fond of the young girl, and she enjoyed following him around.

Arcus finally led them somewhere: another kingdom of man, much greater than that of his own. Life there was brutal, and the band was nearly run out of town, forced to sell much of their trappings and adopt a life of poverty to avoid the angry mobs in the town. Chief of Spells Markus managed to wiggle his way into the local gathering of magi, earning the group some respect. With that to base themselves off of, the band began to rebuild themselves, all living out of the same house. Arcus forced Aurelia back to school as soon as possible, telling her sternly that to waste an opportunity for education was to waste a chance at a better life, and she grudgingly agreed, after many days of arguing. Chief of Healing Cornelius offered to tutor her personally, but both he and Arcus agreed that in the end, school would be better for her. Aurelia did benefit from the rigorous training of both school and her traveling companions, however, she was 'one of those crazy people' from beyond the borders, and was stigmatized as little more than the equivalent of a Gypsey.

Before Immortality (i.e. MORE HISTORY): The Overlord came calling again. This time, the kingdom was able to put up an incredible fight, and became known as one of the most stubborn enemies the Overlord had ever faced, demanding his personal attention. Arcus volunteered his services, but was rejected by every commander, and now, turned his efforts to the possibility of defeat. The survivors knew that to be killed here would be a disgrace and a failure for their dead comrades, friends, and loved ones back in the graves of their old kingdom. Therefore, preparations to escape were made immediatly. Chief of Emergencies Sextus rescued Aurelia from school one day, much to her relief, but to the consternation of her classmates, who had not realized the danger the kingdom was in. Leaving was easier this time: the kingdom let the go freely, not at all believing that they would be threatened.

A few days passed, and the band, now a few day's worth of travel away from the ashes of their second home. Arcus, wounded from the breakout, nevertheless charged ahead, leading Aurelia and his band off to another kingdom, this one controlled by the Overlord. By some chance, they were asked no questions, and thus, the process repeated.

By now, Aurelia had aged considerably; she took up her schooling once again, this time going quite far in her studiousness. Chief of Safety Claudius estimated that, because of the Overlord's control on this kingdom, they would be safe so long as they did not attract attention to themselves, and thus, a set of strict guidelines were set in place, to keep suspicious activity as low as possible. Aurelia took up even more schooling, was actually accepted into society this time, and it looked as if they would survive again.

The city, however, was the chosen rest and relaxation spot of a number of Generals, and their iron hold on the city inevitably siezed the group.

Arcus fought to the death, slaying many more of the city guard than any man should have; he was only silenced by the great blow of a General's wicked blade. The other chiefs were slain much faster, with only the magician putting up a substantial fight: his destruction spells wiped out half of the neighborhood before he fell.

And like that, the kingdom of old was silenced forever.

As a General: Aurelia was perhaps the most unsung General in the entirety of the Overlord's armies. Her initial hiring was of course, one of the more unexpected ones, as her skillset was hardly what the 'Lord of Chaos' himself needed: His armies were far too vast for medicine to be a concern, and Generals were, after all, replaceable. Aurelia was in fact slated to die with the rest of her fellow refugees, and it was only the arguing of a few Generals over who would get to 'claim' this spoil that delayed her death. In the end, they never figured it out, and dragged her off to their quarters, and she was forced into a life of servitude.

Soon after, though, the Generals went to battle, taking their personal items along, including Aurelia. It was here her training finally came to light, and she was put to use as a surgeon, after the first broken-arrowhead retreival proved her worth. The terrified girl was soon assaulted by all the Generals of the camp, who told her that if they weren't rescued and revived first, her head would decorate their walls.

Battle after battle passed, and Aurelia was passed around as well: while she was physically never harmed, many sadistic generals enjoyed terrifying her out of her mind with their tricks and their schemes, knowing that no matter what the did, she would still be there to accellerate the resurrection process the next day.

Eventually, when every General began fighting over who's turn it was to be retrieved for that day, the Overlord took notice. Well, about as much notice as somebody would give a fly. She was given the title of the official 'Doctor of the Army,' which was really only a formality meant to stop everybody arguing over her. By now, she had been completely desensitized to the Generals' tricks, and nothing could faze her: this was just another thing that happened, whatever.

Your Defeat: Aurelia was killed in the Hospital, a small tent outside of the Tower. Kicked out after a day of hard work and no thanks, this was Aurelia's traditional place of residence, and a secret bet amongst the Generals, who had money on how long she would last before the tent collapsed and Aurelia had to come inside to find food. She stood no chance against the onslaught of armies; her death however was perhaps one of the more merciful: the invading army found her sitting on her cot, calmly waiting for her head to be sliced off, or whatever else they chose to do. In the end it was beheading, and by a particularly strong paladin, who made sure his sword was as sharp as possible, to do the job quickly and painlessly. She was the only General to be buried with respect, and the paladin left a cross on her grave, his own personal pendant.

Equipment

Personal Mementos: Aurelia had many personal items she loved very much. She lost every single one over the course of her employment. She suspects that the Generals stole them. She doesn't care.

Weapons: Aurelia doesn't feel that weapons are very necesarry, and at this point, if she's going to be killed, that's fine. She stopped caring years ago.

Armor/Clothes: Aurelia makes all her own clothing, and it reflects her outlook on life: Simple, effective, and plain, often just a dull white in colour, and never anything particular to look at.

Skills

Disadvantages:

Disadvantage: Combat Ineptitude

Aurelia can't fight. Simple as that. Swords are as effective in her hands as a scalpel in the hands of a berserker.

Disadvantage: Legacy

Aurelia was remembered by most Generals as a useful tool, or perhaps a fun toy. The most merciful might have shown her some pity, but not enough to even remember her name. As a result, most Generals show her, and will show her, little to no respect, and probably won't even know she exists.

Disadvantage: Immortality Comes at a Price

Aurelia was never granted the full set of benefits that the Overlord's magic gave to his Generals, as she never made it that far. Therefore, the only benefit she every saw was the immortality, and even then, that didn't save her. Her skills were never, and never will be, augmented at the same level as her fellow Generals, and as a general rule, she will never be capable of the great feats that they can perform.

Orange Skill Slots (Basic Skills & Proficiencies):

  1. Medicine: Battle Medicine I –

Surgery I for Aurelia actually covers a huge array of skills, equivalent to the knowledge of a modern EMT, minus the technology. Aurelia excells at basic battlefield medicine, and can treat typical wounds that most warriors would face, including large gashes, stabs through the body, and the severance of limbs.
  2. Medicine: Alchemy I –

Aurelia is also quite good at spells of healing, her particular specialty being sealing in healing energies for later use in the form of potions, serums, and balms. Currently, she can create small potions of healing, but that's about it.
  3. Medicine:

    Casting I

    – Aurelia as of resurrection possesses basic healing power, able to channel energy to reverse small wounds, set bones, and hold back internal bleeding, at least for a time.

Green Skill Slots (General Skills):

  1. Normal (Passive):

Aurelia is normal. What does this mean? Years and years of absolute stoicism in the face of increasingly gruesome and brutal wounds, combined with the Overlord's powerful magic, resulted in Aurelia's natural emination of pure, utter nomal. People around here feel that everthing is okay, that things happen but that's nice, and that magic isn't that scary when you really think about it. Evil beasts calm down and start thinking that maybe they should get around to grooming themselves for a bit, and crazed killers pause to clean off their weapons. Areas of intense evil become kind of unpleaseant, and immensely holy sites, pretty okay.

Naturally, this effect is only a suggestion, and sufficiently powerful magics are able to neutralize it quite well. But for the most part, Aurelia is an effective magnet of normal, and therefore, many Generals dislike being with her, as when compared next to her, they seem much less threatening, and really, just kind of okay.
