"Straighten those spines you worthless excuse for pissants. The 105th cadet corp boot camp starts here. Allow me to introduce myself I am commodone Araki Shuzo and you will grow to hate me. Training is gonna be a white knuckle ride through hell. If I have done my job right then you'll be waking up from a cold sweat from memories of this place everyday for the rest of your fuckin' lives. Right now you're livestock, no maggots. But we're gonna rebuild you from the ground up over the next three soul crushing years. And you'll be ready to take down your own demons. Remember this moment when you go face to face with it. Its time you ask yourself. Are you gonna eat or be chewed into pulpy bloody, piles of human grist and bones through bolder sized teeth? Decide now cause this is the fucking point of no return."

The drill instructor barked like he was gonna eat the cadets but his words would fly through the hearts of some of them like a storm of inspiration.

This morning was, for some, an earlier morning than they were used to. But Adrian was used to waking up early, even earlier than this back home. But of course nowhere was home for him. The orphanage that had been his home before was run by a ruthless old cow who ran it like her own little military, after all. Rules were strict, mornings were the crack of dawn, and punishments for misbehaving were over the top and exaggerated. He liked to think that a cadet boot camp would feel similar to the rules and strict life back in Trost's Orphanage, but perhaps it was foolish to think of it that way. This was an entrance into the real military, and so it would be relentless.

Throughout Shuzo's entire speech, it was already clear that some of the young cadets were already loosing their nerve. The ones who stayed composed were the ones he expected to spend the next three years training alongside, and he would one day have to trust them and put his life in their hands. Or, so the older soldiers would have you believing. After seeing the massacred way the scouts came back after every mission, and hearing of the devastation at Shiganshina, it was clear that even trust in your comrades couldn't save you. The only thing to rely on was yourself. But, then again, why should Adrian be scared? What, with his little secret and all.

(Not much for a start, I know, but it's a start ^^)

Artyom Zantar

Among the 105 cadets stood a freshly 18 year old young man with fierce war freak face that could rival the drill instructor alone. Some would see it as a an inside joke that Artyom maybe the Drill sarge's son. Atyom had the killer stare as he looks straight forward while listening to the instructor's words. He is one of those cadets that can withstand the drill instructor's harsh words. The young man stood firm and straight like a professional soldier. As the instructor continues, Artyom remained silent as his mind refreshes his reasons why he is too determined to volunteer on a very dangerous profession. Artyom remained still like a statue until the end of the speech.

Argus stood there shaking in his boots, he was not used to being yelled at, one might say he hated it. Argus was known to be quite timid a lot people said he'd be unfit for the survey corpse but he was going to prove them wrong. Recent titan infestations made him decide he wanted to join the the military. Everything the drill instructor said felt like a slap upside the face simply because for the most part it was all true. Although Argus was determined he was a skimpy tiny 17 year old boy who barely stood a chance next to his peers and hasn't much any courage. His lack of courage but strong determination made him a fool in some cases. He seemed to remind a lot of people of a cat that would climb up a tree but be too scared to get back down. He ran a hand through his jet black hair and tried to calm his nerves.

Araki Shuzo
And so the rain of insults came down from Araki's wrath. Adrian became the first victim. "You, the apathetic albino." The instructor barked. "What do they call you maggot?"

(My next few posts are gonna be short because its gonna be mainly dialogue. I apologize in advance!)

Upon being approached by the instructor, Adrian swung his right arm up, stopping his fist against his chest over his heart, and placing his other arm neatly behind him before he responded, saluting the instructor and not once moving his eyes from his forward stare. "Adrian Kavos, Sir!" He shouted in a confident, demanding type of voice that wouldn't be expected to come from him.

Araki Shuzo
"Yuck, why the fuck would your parents curse you with such a shit name? Cadet Kavos why is a runt like you here?" Araki was slightly impressed with the cadet. He seemed like he knew what he was getting in to and what life was going to be like from now on.

"Because I'd rather do something with my life than end up kicked out on a street corner at the age of eighteen, Sir!" Adrian responded in the same confident tone, his eyes narrowing more as the determination set in. He had no intention of being overshadowed by anyone here, and he was dead set on proving his worth despite his pitiful beginning at life.

Korin was more than ready to fight and take down every last titan. She was a capable person who would end up strong.
Nothing would stand in her way. Today would mark the beginning of a cadet that would end all the titans.
So she thought anyways. If the drill sergeant was telling them to decide now, then she was already ready.
It would have to be all the other cadets who would have to decide if they were too scared to go through training.
Well training wouldn't be scary compared to fighting real titans so Korin wasn't worried.

Akari Shuzo
Akari grunted and strolled over to Artyom. "What the fuck are you looking at?!" The instructor shouted as he got in his face.

Kenshi was prepared today, the burning passion in his heart after being able to train with the 105th Cadet Corps was more than enough to fuel him for the hardships to come. The boy looked around to notice everyone was about his age but he had a feeling he was the oldest, the drill sergeant walked by each member and yelled at them, Kenshi wasn’t fazed, his brother had always told him what to be prepared for so he wouldn’t let this drill sergeant bastard stand in his way of being like his brother and getting the real story on what happened to him. He noticed a fiery reddish-orange haired girl standing in command, she was pretty cute, it was his old friend Korin, he hadn’t seen her for a week or so after the previous training opportunity that got them accepted to this point, he’d have to talk to her after to see what happened to the girl. Kenshi stood back at attention staring straight ahead in anticipation for the growls and barks of the drill sergeant.

Artyom Zantar

Artyom whom silently stared of into the distance while his ears do all the listening for him. The young man prepared himself for this day and he has surely shown it. He stood firm with clenched fists by his sides. The instructor began to monitor the cadets one by one. This did not however disturbs the young man. Artyom kept still like an un-moving statue. As the instructor does what he he wants with the fresh cadets. The instructor made his way towards Artyom's face which did not budge his angered facial expression not even the slightest. The shouting on his face was indeed uncomfortable for Artyom but he seems to have let it slip for disciplinary reasons. Being asked with a demanding question Artyom naturally answered.

"A FACE OF A MAN, SIR!!!" Artyom replied in the top of his voice as he shouted his answer. A literal answer for such a simple question. Aryom's fists twitched and his teeth gritted in his natural anger.

"Is there a reason your ass isn't saluting?" The instructor asked. He didn't move from his spot and was still in the cadet's face.

Artyom had the guts to look very annoyed at the instructor and his face didn't hide it. Artyom was an inch short from the instructor but his height did not get in his way. The instructor's voice toned down as he was asked for the lack of salute, instead of admitting his mistake. He gave the instructor an annoyed look on his face which can really tick the patience of the instructor at any second, followed with a deep annoying groan. He salutes the instructor followed with the most strange answer to receive.

"Tsk, Far off."
This was all he said in a strict voice, paired with his annoyed and upset look.

The morning sun had crept over the mountains and peered into the training camp a few hours ago, yet it still hung plenty low on the horizon. The day had only just begun, yet standing information already had an adverse effect on those unused to it. Henna Volsung was one of these people who found standing in formation, listening and waiting to be mind-numbing. The Instructor was currently busy with another cadet, one who seemed a little more willing to let his personality and 'charm' out. Henna furrowed her brow at his low response. She was close enough to hear them, only far away enough to avoid their gaze as they had their moment.

Didn't that cadet realize that playing along and just doing what you're told will the process easier? Maybe he was just riled up, she thought to herself as she shifted her weight from leg to another, having become rather unused to standing for long periods of time. She had at one point spent her entire day on her feet when she had run her bakery. But the interim of not having a job and waiting for starvation to take her had left her with plenty of time to simply sit and wait for the end.

The military had been her way out of the poverty that had claimed so many other people within the prison of the walls. Henna quickly brought a hand up to push some of her hair out of her face, trying to make the least amount of movement as possible as she did so, worried about being noticed by the instructor for adjusting without permission.

Akari Shuzo
The instructor stared daggers at the boys eyes. He looked at him as if he lost his mind. "Is there a problem? If not, fix your damn attitude before I fix it for you. You get me, ya little shit? Now tell me who the fuck you are." A vein had popped up on the man's forehead and was now visible. He didn't like the expressions and noises coming from the cadet. He was about ready to knock him on his ass and have him start running.

Despite the instructor's insane and menacing look. Artyom's hard head and heart remained standing. Among other cadets, it is recommended to stay down towards the instructor but Artyom wasn't like any other Cadet. Artyom was getting annoyed but his violent nature was surprisingly kept at bay. Artyom was choosing a more rational choice despite the intense feeling of anger was consuming him like disease. The boy was difficulty to retain his anger but he had somehow kept it still. All noises and expressions were depleted within seconds. With a strong salute and stance, Aryom replied.

"ARTYOM ZANTAR, SIR!"

Artyom's tone of voice was loud but not to a shouting degree like earlier. This was all he said as his clenched shaking fist was kept to a minimal. To other Cadets, this cadet might actually be a mental patient rather than a soldier. There is no way this man could have signed up with a cool composure. He had the guts to talk back to the instructor but since he just wants to get rid of the instructor off his tail. He'll obey.

Standing saluting, Korin noticed her friend Kenshi was here too.
Ah so they would remain together. It was refreshing to see him.
But right now she wanted the instructor to go make them do something. Anything. Standing and having the Cadets look pretty was cool and all.
But she lived for the bigger things. The heat of battle was what really made things worth it.
She watched as the instructor began to talk to another Cadet.

Adrian dropped his salute once the instructor walked away from him, but his stance remained tall and proper. He listened closely as the instructor barked in the face of another cadet, and at the cadet's backtalk, and immediately Adrian thought of him as someone who either wouldn't last long in the military, or would be getting into lots and lots of trouble from this point on. The way Adrian saw it, following orders and doing as your told in battle is what keeps you alive, and if you can't handle taking orders, and being obedient to the higher ups, you don't last long.

Wasn't this place just a breath of fresh air? From the moment that she had gotten here, Zoë had practically been on cloud nine. What with the unnecessary shouting, it was a taste of home miles away. Alright, so maybe she wasn't having the time of her life so far. The amusement had worn off a long while ago. If she had her way, she would be in bed again. She'd heard a few complaints from other recruits floating around the camp, but the fact she had a bed at all was enough to have her flying pretty high. Really, if the only part of coming to this place was getting to enjoy a bed and regular meals, she would spend the rest of her life on this little patch of earth. Damn going outside, she had it all right in here. Of course, rest and relaxation was quite far off the agenda. Right now, the biggest concern was ensuring that she was not shipped off on day one.

She stood stock still, waiting for her turn to be shouted into oblivion. As much as this seemed unnecessary, she couldn't deny that it was likely the quickest way of weeding out those at risk of cracking under pressure. Fighting titans was some major pressure, after all, and the faint of heart would be little more than a liability. Not clever or subtle, but she could find it respectable. Zoë doubted she would find herself caught off guard enough to crumble, as this sort of thing was her strong suit, though she had to remember how she was intended to respond. 'Sebastian Schwarz. Don't forget,' she thought, three times for good measure. A reflex response to 'who are you' would be a pathetic way for this ruse to fall apart, especially when her pride was hinged on it.

'Can we finish up show and tell and get to the swords 'n' whatever? Or better yet, lunch!'

Akari Shuzo
"Why are you here?" The instructor asked in a more calm voice. In the inside, the man was somewhat interested in this boy. From what he had seen, the cadet had some fight in him which would be good on the battlefield. Although he is supposed to listen and obey orders without any difficulties or problems.

Kama Unboko
For some odd reason, one cadet was standing tall and proud in his row with a forced frown on his face. It seemed like he was trying his hardest to look serious. Although the position he was in said he was trying to be everything but serious. Kama wasn't saluting correctly. He was saluting differently from everyone else. He held the side of one of his hands to his forehead and left the other one straight down to the side.

Kenshi glanced at the drill sergeant, he just wanted them to start their missions…train…something, this drill sergeant was far more annoying focusing on one person than he would have been yelling at everyone all together. He let out a soft sight that didn’t cause much attention to himself still standing in salute with the others. Maybe he should tell the guy to hurry up, besides Kenshi was one of the best in the group aside from Korin so any punishment wouldn’t be so bad. The boy decided against it however and just waited.

Artyom Zantar

The instructor's voice softened as he asked his next question. Still having the urge of unnecessary anger, Artyom did his best to concentrate on answering respectfully without sounding too angry.

"To defend those who cannot defend themselves from the enemy's hands! Sir!" The attempt to not sound too angered was a sloppy attempt but by standards it is a pass. The sound of his answer sounded very true but this was not his real reason, whatsoever. Artyom aims for a more personal goal. Artyom's nature is an explosive personality but it seems like he can control himself at some point. The boy continued to salute the instructor without saying another word.

Upon being dismissed, Adrian walked along with the rest of the cadets, some more eager than others to reach the dining hall. His expression remained neutral, and after collecting his food, Adrian sat himself down at a table closest to the door, and sat with his legs up on the table and crossed over each other, picking off pieces of his food before eating it in small pieces at a time. Already, some of those who've lost their nerve, couldn't handle the intensity of just the first twenty minutes of meeting their drill instructor for the first time, hadn't even made it to get their dinner's. His predictions on a few of the cadets he didn't think would stand the test were correct, as he didn't see them anywhere around, but he was also wrong about a fair few who he had expected to crumble. Perhaps they still would, in time.
