Astrella's Boarding School for the Powered ~ Class MO-104

Anubis

This last week wasn't a good one to say the least. Having spent most of her time in the nurses with Lu to get healed up. Her being pretty injured as well. Now though she was glad class was starting. Opening the door to her classroom she looked around before going to her desk. Slowly she climbed into the chair with a small groan. Pulling the desk drawer out to reveal a massive stack of snacks she sifted through it before pulling out a bag of chips. Opening them she started to eat them as she waited for her students to arrive. As she ate a look of pain came over her face as a pain struck her right ear. Bringing a hand to it she gently felt her ear before puling it away to see if there was any blood. Luckily there wasnt but she was worried there would be. "Gonna have to go to the nurse after class." She said softly before she continued to eat her snacks while waiting for her students to arrive.

Reigner To'Me

----Summary Of The Past Few Months----
Admittedly, Reigner had thought himself lucky to make it past the entrance test in the first place. Without mother, he found it difficult to fight back against the faux-villain, and instead had relied on his plethora of spells to attempt to protect both himself and the other attendees by reciting both Chapter 19 and Chapter 144. His shields and walls managed to weather some of the lighter assaults, but it was clear to him that any form of concentrated attack would end up in the necromancer, and the students under his protection as chunks of meat on a skewer. This point was proven when Reigner died... well, he didn't die, he just sorta... woke up. Like being rudely awakened from a not-so pleasant dream. Computers had never been Reigner's field of expertise, and he was utterly astounded as to how a simulation could well... simulate life so realistically. He hardly got an astounding grade, after all, his guard HAD faultered, and he had done very little to hinder or harm the villain. That being said, his efforts ensured him a little more than just a passing grade. Even now, nearly two months later, Reigner remains certain that he could have fared far better with Mother at his side. Which is why he ensured he could get Mother into the school on his first day.
Speaking of which, his first day was a hectic one at that. He ended up getting dragged around by his teacher after being promised by the staff that his luggage (along with the large, ornate and sealed coffin that contained Mother) would be delivered safely to his dorm. That part was relatively uneventful, and Reigner found it to be a complete bore, nevertheless, the teacher soon abandoned them to go find their dorms as... something... had come up; Reigner assumed it was something akin to a meeting, and rather than head back to his dorm, he activated Mother, merely to listen in to the people in Dorm 105, and to be able to move her if that... something... was more than just a meeting; or if the now-entering denizens of Dorm 105 tried to damage or investigate Mother.
Reigner spent the next short while generally just sorta walking about, trying to better understand the layout of the school.
The ground shook, glass cracked. For a few moments, Mother went silent, Mother wasn't... connected to him... No more than a second passed, and yet losing this connection left Reigner so inconcievably lonely and lost. His feet were moving before his mind started to comprehend what was going on. Dorm 105. He had to get there. He had to. Mother's connection came back, darkness, just like before, he could even feel the cool air in the coffin. She was safe, atleast... She was in the coffin. He had to know whether mother was safe...
As soon as possible.
An armored, gauntlet poked from Mother's coffin, parting the lid ever so slightly as a deep, empty eye peered through the gap from under it's heavy steel facemask. The more attentive of Dorm 105 might have noticed it, the less attentive would soon have their attention rather forcefully taken a hold of by a raggedy looking young man, dressed in murky black robes decorated in a variety of hieroglyphs, scraps of papyrus and other symbols that supposedly warded off evils.
The week that Reigner spent in the dorm was rather uneventful, he talked to the others, introduced himself and that was pretty much it, those that questioned him about the coffin were given an honest, but admittedly lacking explanation. To those that asked, the armored figure was merely a construct that Reigner could control. Generally, he kept to himself, spending most of his time reading through the Book Of The Dead or tending to the coffin. He didn't dare whisper to Mother like he usually did. Even Reigner understood that the other's would clearly see such behaviour as disturbing and odd.
----The Present----
And here was the day, the first supposedly proper day of classes and what Reigner assumed to be irritating tests and dull lectures. It may be a 'School for the Powered' but at the end of the day, it was still an educational institute.
He'd had to leave Mother at the dorm, bringing a coffin, or an armored and armed escort into a classroom felt far too conspicuous and was likely to be frowned upon. The boy went a little ways ahead of one of his roomates, En Valkyrie who was supposed to be in the same class; and was thus the first to enter the not-particularly unique looking classroom. Besides the teacher, who was currently pigging out on a bag of crisps at her desk.
The symbols that seemed to line her clothing summoned an odd amount of disdain from the young boy, he offered the teacher a too-short wave before sitting down at a desk a little ways off from the center of the classroom.
"Morning."

~Taylor Walker~

The past week was blissfully uneventful. After being rescued from the locked dojo and given a stern talking to, Chiara was reunited with her sister and their group was herded back into the dorms. Sure, the blood and the knife freaked people out and might've seemed extreme, but Taylor felt like he was justified. After all, his overreactions to potential threats was the only reason he was still alive. I can't afford to get too comfortable, not when villains can still reach us. As suicidal as attacking a campus full of superheroes seemed, Taylor guessed that there would always be that one person who was crazy enough to try. Uncertainly, a traitorous thought ran through his mind, It's not that crazy if they can get away with it. The fact that the assailant hadn't been caught yet didn't sit well with the blond.

Checking his phone, Taylor felt somewhat anxious about his first day. Hopefully it doesn't suck. Wanting to make a good impression, the blond had his hair up in a high ponytail and was clearly dressed as a guy. As much as he liked fucking with people, he didn't want to confuse the teacher on the first day of class. Peeking his head in, he only spotted one other student. Eagerly, Taylor gave the teacher a smile and polite, "Good morning," before selecting the seat closest to the door. Eyeing the other student, he vaguely recalled him from orientation. The boy had been quiet and unremarkable, so the blond hadn't paid him much attention. Besides, I was busy watching The Dick. With some time to spare before the other students arrived, Taylor opened up his backpack and brought out a crisp, new notebook. With a little more digging, the mage brought out a pen. Pleased with himself, he wrote the class's name at the top of the empty page along with the day's date. There. He was totally ready for school.

Mentioned: Astralworks Astralworks 's En (AKA: The Dick)

En Valkyrie II --The week after invasion--

Chided and guided in the right direction En and the other offenders whom ventured out to the fields were sternly dealt with. This left the remainder of the week to interact a bit more with his fellow roomies and to get more familiar with the school as a whole. Soon enough he'd found himself chilling on the roof of the dorm building and having small conversations with his ancestor every now and then. It was good. The few days they had before classes began were really put to use as the two Ens gained 3 more cards. Two of the mysterious things came to En The Second in dreams showcasing something he'd done a time back, whilst the third one from a book he read in the school's library. He hadn't gotten a chance to use them but he did take some time to read their descriptions and figure out how to activate the spells the cards of power carried within. En The First was curious as well as astounded, his predecessor surpassing his expectations and bubbling with unknown potential. The old man wondered what future the boy's mystical abilities had for them, and hoped eventually his memories would return, thus making his reason for reviving clear.

En Valkyrie II --Classes finally start--

En got out of bed around the time everyone else was getting ready and found himself being one of the last out of the dorm. He wore a white shirt with a black crown and the words "Take It To The Top" on the front, along with black laced shoes, matching socks, and a choker. A short walk from the common area took him right to class as he noted the two students in the room and a new face. The new face being raided by potato chips as she stuffed in the presence of her students.

This class is sure to be exotic with one such as her teaching it.

Closing his eyes, En brought the creepy moments of staring at his teacher to an end before taking a seat next to the blonde.

Anubis

Though she was eating quickly and stuffing her self she was surprisingly clean about eating the chips. As her class started to arrive she rushed to complete her food. Taking the empty bag and tossing it in the trash next to her desk once she she was done. Then taking a soft breath she stood up and walked to the center of the half circle of desks and smiled at the students. "good morning class. Now first off I know you where oriented by another teacher who was to be teaching this class but sadly she had matters she needed to attend to.So in her place I will be teacher this class for this year. My name is Anubis." She said to the class before giving them a small smile. "Seeing as how I wasn't at orientation with you all i was thinking we could take a little Q and A before we run over what we are doing this year." Anubis said with another smile. With that she took a couple steps back leaving it open for her students to ask questions seeing as how they probably had some with there teacher changing and all.

~Taylor Walker~
Taylor stared at the teacher blankly for a minute before his mind finally rebooted. Oh. He felt like an idiot for a minute. He didn't even realize that this teacher was different from the one from the first day! So much for keeping an eye out for suspicious people. Speaking of which, the blond refused to let his gaze drift over to Dicks McGee, who had conveniently sat down next to him. Asshole, he thought heatedly. Studying the teacher, Taylor had to admit that she seemed like she would be more fun than their previous one. Deciding to get straight to the point, Taylor raised his hand. "I have a question; what can you do?" Letting his hand fall, he explained, "I mean, like, what's your power?" He hadn't asked the previous teacher that during the tour since he was under the assumption that she would actually stick around and that he would have a chance to ask later. Oh well, she's gone now so it's not like it'll matter too much. Still, he was kind of curious. Maybe I'll ask my little nerd about it later. This teacher, Anubis, was more important now since he'd have to see her everyday for class. Paranoia tingled in the back of his mind. I need to know...just in case. Of what, he wasn't sure of; however, he felt slightly more at ease when he knew what people were capable of. Resisting the temptation to glance at his new desk neighbor and therefore acknowledging his existence, Taylor kept a light smile on his face as he waited for the teacher to respond.

Reigner To'Me
Reigner's interest seemed to be quickly diminishing, his head lowered slightly to face his desk as the young boy dragged his heavy, leatherbound tome to the top of his desk. With a weighty thud, the book shook the desk as it hit it. His eye's scanned upwards, looking at Anubis for a few seconds, before peering over his other classmates. Satisfied, the sickly looking young boy gently pulled an aged-looking quill from within the book. With a fair bit of exertion, Reigner managed to open the book to one of the many empty pages that littered it's latter half.
His quill pressed deep into the ancient, invaluable egyptian relic. And upon the aged papyrus pages, he began to-...
Scribble.
It wasn't some odd magical language or rune, just mindless scribbles. The boy thought of it as a way to get back at the owners of this vile tome, he couldn't meet them, he didn't know them. But still, he could atleast irritate them.
His head snapped up. So did his body as he stood straight, one hand swiftly flipping backwards to one of the books many spells and verses. His sickly porcelain face turned a dark shade of red as his chair clattered to the floor besides him.
"ANUBIS!" The young mans hands clenched into fists, knuckles going whiter than his pallored flesh. He gripped the spine of the book, pulling it upwards to show her it's front page, now-shaking bony finger pointing to the hieroglyphs etched into it.
"WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS BOOK!?" A frantic breath, his face went back to it's usual white. Hands clenching back into shaking fists.

En Valkyrie II --Real Presence--

Elbows on the desk and his face between his palms he watched his new teacher as she made short work of the snack and disposed of the rapper. Anubis. This was her name, and judging from her small stature and the way she carried herself it was probably pretty common for her to be compared to a child. Although this bit didn't matter in the least to En as the blonde to his left asked one of the questions he had laying in the back of his mind. What was it that made her special? En's gaze found itself stuck onto the woman's face as he remembered reading about the name. Then his ancestor called out.

I could be very well wrong young one, but with confidence I can guarantee that in some way shape or form she is related to the dead. Rather, the Egyptian God of the Dead.

So, she's--

A shout from behind severed En's mental response to his ancestor as he almost looked back at Reigner. It sounded like the large book also had a connection to the dead, and judging from who Reigner asked and how he did it, there were a few plausible theories for En to follow; the book is an ancient artifact that had a negative impact on Reigner somehow, and more-than-likely it originates from Egypt. Whatever the deal was about the book, their new teacher, and Reigner's current feelings, one thing for sure was that Anubis's response would confirm En's thoughts.

Anubis

Looking to the first boy to raise his hand he asked what her power was which was honestly a good question but a complicated one. "Well its along answer but I-" Her words where cut off by a boy who stormed from his seat. Yelling at her as he held up a book for her to see. She had to take a second look before her eyes widened just a little before she looked to him. "Well I mean. That is a silly question is it not? I am Anubis the Egyptian god of death, and that's the book of the dead. I know there are no such thing as stupid questions but the tone you say it in is like i might no nothing of it." She said calmly to him as she walked up to him. "May I?" She asked as she held her hands out to see the book before she gently took it from him. Instantly she ran a hand over its cover curiously. "Where did you get this?" Anubis couldn't help but ask as she looked it over more

Taylor huffed at the loss of the teacher's attention. Dick. He'd never even been to school before but at least he had the courtesy to raise his hand before talking. Propping his head in his hands, the blonde watched their interaction carefully. At least it's not a total loss. While the teacher did have an Egyptian theme going on, Taylor hadn't really thought that she was an actual god of death. I shouldn't underestimate the teachers here. He wasn't too sure what 'god of death' meant ability-wise, but considering the fact that she was at Astrella's she was most likely powerful. If she's been alive since Ancient Egypt then it makes sense that she would be. Letting his eyes drift to the scrawny kid who had rudely interrupted him, Taylor examined him closely. The boy's appearance concerned him a little; he looked almost malnourished. Judging by his odd behavior the blonde also questioned the soundness of his mind. He could be from a rough place. Forcing his annoyance away, Taylor decided that he'd at least check to see if the kid was OK after class just in case. He didn't want something to happen to the boy just because he ignored any signs of abuse or mental illness.

Eyeing the book in the boy's hands, Taylor squinted at the wording. He couldn't read it, but judging by Anubis's reaction it was probably powerful. Anubis said that it was a book of the dead...please don't tell me that he's some kind of necromancer. Taylor shuddered. Not that there was anything wrong with necromancers per say, it was the dead that they communed with that freaked him out. The blond didn't really consider himself religious, but if he believed in anything it was that the dead were meant to stay dead. Taylor watched the unnamed boy uneasily, I can't imagine anything good coming out of summoning the dead. Not that it was any of his business, but he had a feeling that with his luck it would become his business.

Reigner To'Me
Thin, bony hands snatched the book away from the small teacher. "God of the dead? Christ, if you really are Anubis, that position was taken four millenia ago by Osiris." He pulled back from the god. "Don't touch this book, do not take it from me. If you're desperate for it, or you believe you have the right to own it, talk to me about it." His face turned into an angry, pained snarl.
"I want my mother back. I want my family back, you can have this shitty goddamn book once their back." The snarl softened a little, his face melting to something that wasn't quite tears, but a quivering lip and bloodshot, straining eyes made him look close to it.
He looked around the classroom, as if only now just realising there were other people in the room, his expression mellowed, a little more solemn than upset, his voice came out far weaker than his angry yell, closer to his normal, fraliler and meeker tone.
"Sorry for the disturbance, my father found this, now it's mine, I don't want it, but I have to have it..."

En Valkyrie II --A fellow classmate--

Impulsive? Nope, that wasn't it. En couldn't help but smile as Reigner clearly cracked. He didn't quite get the details, but the showing itself made his first few moments in class somewhat 'hype', as he had his theories confirmed. So I was right, that book there really did ruin his life. Turning his chair a bit to shoo away the numb feeling developing from straining his neck to look back at the spat he sat up straight. Bet they're more than dark magics stored away in that thing.

Child, remember the coffin that boy has under his bunk? The ancestor asked.

That's not easy to forget if we're being honest.

Well then, that settles my prodding.

I bet you were going to ask me if I put two and two together.

With a near silent chuckle the ancestor's voice went away, meanwhile En continued observing.

Holy shit, I'm going to die. While that bony kid seemed remorseful at the end of his outburst, he was clearly unstable. Taylor quickly glanced at Dicks McGee to gauge his reaction and instantly regretted it. Bastard looks way too pleased. Fuck, was he stuck in the crazy class? What happened to that sweet little musical girl? Probably ran for the hills when she got the chance, the blond thought to himself bitterly. Letting his eyes flit from face to face, Taylor decided that he was going to stick close to his teacher during this class. He came here so that he wouldn't die from some amateur mistake while trying to be a hero, not so that his classmates could kill him before he even reached adulthood. Although, he did feel a little sympathetic towards the bony kid. Life's rough without parents. The longer he stared at the kid, the sicker Taylor felt. If things were different, would I have ended up like that? Taylor shuddered. He didn't want to entertain the thought of going insane, like his classmate clearly already had. Glancing nervously at Anubis, he resisted the urge to chew on his nails. Is she going to control the situation or what? God help him if she wasn't good at controlling the classroom, these boys obviously weren't going to be reasonable.

Anubis

Anubis stared at the boy in slight shock as he snatched her old book from her hands and blabed on about how if she wanted it to talk to him before immediately nullifying that statement by saying if she wanted it she could have it for his parents return. Scoffing a little at his attempt at a low blow to her about Osiris taking over her position she waved a hand at that statement. "oh please Osiris never took the position if anything he just paraded around cause he was bored of his old job. Only reason it stuck was cause some wisecracking pharaoh decided to deem him the god of death to spite me." She dismissed bluntly before sighing. "It's not that I want the book child. It's that last I saw it, it was being locked away. So to see it now is quite the surprise. But either way onto your second demand.... I'm afraid there gone child and you must accept it. I am the god of death, doesn't mean I can bring people back. If it is any comfort for you though. They do not suffer in the afterlife. There hearts were automatically weighed good due to the involvement with the book. When the book is given to mortals it requires sacrifice to open. And a big sacrifice at that. I do not mean to bring offense but consider yourself lucky you only lost your family to it. The book normally takes so much more than just a few lives to open to mortals. If you wish to speak on the subject more come see me after class ok." Anubis said ending this conversation at that turning back she headed to the front of the class before turning back to her students. "Now as you all heard I am Anubis. The Egyptian god of death. And this class is the miscellaneous class as the school deems it. Here is we're the students that don't really fit into one of the normal ability categories go. So with that said the main thing we need to do is gauge each of your abilities to find out the best way to turn you all into heros." she informed the class.

~Taylor Walker~

The blonde listened to Anubis's small rant on Osiris with amusement. Someone seems salty~ He probably would be too if someone had tried to take credit for his work. Taylor's amusement faded as Anubis moved on to talk about the skinny kid's dead parents. Scowling, the blonde focused on cleaning dirt from under his nails. Gods aren't real, if anything it's just a title given to powerful beings. Analyzing Anubis, he felt a slight pang of resentment. She was not a god, goddess, or whatever else people wanted to call her. If there was a God, life wouldn't be this fucked up, Taylor thought bitterly. The blonde kept his eyes firmly on his nails as Anubis continued spouting junk about the afterlife. He honestly couldn't tell if she was lying to appease the kid or actually believed that she could communicate with the souls of the dead. Glancing up when she offered to have him ask questions after class, Taylor stopped the movements of his hands. I could test her. After all, what better way to gauge her powers and their strength than an actual demonstration? But if she's telling the truth-, the mage cut the thought off quickly. He'd deal with his dad suffered he knows that the consequences if and when they happened.

Taylor shook his head roughly, as if it would help banish his intrusive thoughts. Turning his attention towards the teacher again, he realized that she had addressed the class and that he had completely missed what she had said. Oh shit, hope it wasn't important. Sitting quietly, he eyed the other students in hopes that their responses would give him a clue as to what was happening.

Reigner To'Me
"..."
Pasty white cheeks flared bright red, along with the rest of his face and the boy's nostrils flared, it felt like fire ran through his veins.
"CONSIDER MYSELF LUCKY?
It didn't matter that she was a god. Reigner's boot lashed out and crashed into the desk in front of him. The desk didn't travel far, unlike many superpowered beings, reigner's appearance summed up his physical strength pretty well. Near non-existent.
He felt the great blade in his hand, felt his hands part the wooden lid in front of him, saw the light fill the dark coffin. He peered at his right hand as his fingertip scratched against the lid.
White, like his skin, but there was no skin stretched over muscle, no muscle wrapped around bone.
Just bone.
Reigner took a deep breath. He was mother, at least, it felt like he was.
Mother was angry too. Though her anger wasn't like the boy's rage, it wasn't fiery and emotional. Just cold. Almost robotic.
The pasty boy gulped hard, tried to quell his anger, he blinked.
His hands were his. Bony. But not bone. Even now though, he could feel her, slinking back into the coffin, snapping the door back shut. He knew that if his mother left, she'd be mistaken for a villain or something else, he couldn't let her be hurt or detained. She couldn't be taken from him. He quelled her cold, seething hatred.
"DO YOU HAVE NO REGARD FOR LIFE!?"
His slender arm tensed, right-fist springing forwards to connect with Anubis' head.
He had quelled mother's anger.
Not his own.

~Taylor Walker~

Taylor was a more than a little pissed off when his phone's ringer went off; he definitely had it on silent! With the lanky kid losing his mind, the blond figured that Anubis was safely distracted. He quickly pulled out his phone and glanced at its side. The mage frowned in confusion when he saw that his phone was on silent. His frown faded into excitement when he saw that Sudo had messaged him. He probably did something. Taylor wouldn't put it past him to be able to do something to his phone to make it ring with how mysteriously resourceful he seemed to be. It had only been a little while since Sudo first messaged him, but the blond definitely needed to meet him. He seems like fun, Taylor thought to himself as he unlocked his phone. He didn't get to read anything before he heard a loud bang. Jumping slightly, Taylor's attention returned to that crazy pasty kid. He looked...unhinged. There was a dark anger in his eyes as he screamed, "DO YOU HAVE NO REGARD FOR LIFE!?"

As if in slow motion, Taylor watched in twisted fascination as the boy cocked his arm back and threw a wild punch towards Anubis's head. He wasn't sure what the boy was hoping to accomplish with an attack like that. The kid looked like he could be blown over by a strong breeze and the desk he had kicked had moved a pitiful distance. Even if he did catch the teacher by surprise, the punch didn't look like it'd do any damage. But still. Putting Sudo's message on hold for the moment, the mage watched for his teacher's reaction.

Anubis

As Reigners hand connected with Anubis's little head it was like punching a boulder. No sign of any movement or acknowledgement of the action came from her as she just stood there for a sec with her eyes closed before she reached up and gently grabbed his hand. Absently tossing it away from her head before looking up to him. "I will ignore your irresponsible and grave mistake of a tone and action if you heed the gravity of mine. I said what I said cause it's true. As stated if you wish to discuss this further you WILL wait till after class. Now sit down before I get just a little bit angry." She said coldly as she glared reigner down. It was clear she was close to getting mad at his unacceptable behavior and tone. Leaving her words at that she turned away from him and headed back to her desk. Noticing the phones she found them an annoying inconvenience but saw that the kids themselves seemed annoyed by it. "now where were we?" She said as she tried to remember where they had been before Reigners mistake.
