Astrella's Boarding School for the Powered ~ Class MD-105

She was up early.

Very early.

She was up at the crack of dawn and the nerves were finally hitting her. This would be the first time Nanami taught her own class - sure, she had done assisted teaching to get her credits in order to teach here at Astrella's, but it would be the first time that it was just her with a group of kids whose futures laid in her hands. It was nerve-racking, exciting, horrifying, and an entire spectrum of different emotions on a whole other level. There was so much going on in her head that there was absolutely no way at all that she could sit still. So instead of sitting in her office and simply writing out her lesson plan to the point that it was detailed to the minute, when it was nearly time for classes, she zipped off to her own room and began sorting.

This way and that her body blurred and flicked, checking the supplies in the room, textbooks, the supplies she would have for the students, and then realized...

"Crap!" she barked to herself. "Zinnia doesn't like the temple!"

And so she was off. There were only another five minutes before the class was to begin, and considering there were more things in the temple that she'd need to go over her lesson for today, she didn't have any choice to go full throttle. Each movement she made left some of the tread from the thick soles of her shoes on the floor, weaving and dodging through students at what some would exaggerate was light-speed as she would reach the temple, grab whatever she could find that she'd need, and zip back in record time. This continued over and over until Nanami was a sweating mess, with her hair tousled and nearly a fifth of the treads on her boots gone from the endeavor.

Already she was tired, but with the ward charms, scrolls, and implements she had snagged from the Temple now within the classroom set up in an almost artistic display rather than religious upon the many desks of the room, she felt content. This had to be enough to be able to conduct her class. Right?

She could only hope. After the scare, she was even more worried about the security of the students, but she could only really help so many, which meant that she had to focus on her own class.

For now, with only thirty seconds before students would start pooling in, this had to be enough.

"Really hope I don't bomb this..." She muttered to herself nervously, heel tapping over and over on the ground as she sat in her chair, making a soft patting noise echo in the room.

Viana

Viana sighed loudly as she walked along side her sister through the halls. Honestly this past week had been shit for the two. Having been held up and not able to make it to the first day of school due to Government reasons they had missed all the lovely carnage that had ensued. Then when they did get there there was nothing but a hole lotta being escorted around by the security and getting settled in. After that they had literally nothing to do so naturally Viana followed her sister around.

Now that school had finally started Viana was dreading it before she had even gotten to class. Looking to her sister who walked next to her she groaned a little. "Viena must we be here? We both know they would never find us and father will always keep us safe." She protested to her sister as they walked through the halls. Taking notice of all the avoidance other students where taking, It wasn't A surprise to the girls that they would be avoided this much. The two were in fact considered full on villains so no wonder they would be avoided in a school of hero's. Thinking on this Viana wondered how there teacher would react when he or she found out they had Viana and Viena in there class. Still though she did not want to go and gently tugged at her sisters hand.

"When are we gonna leave?" She questioned softly as they approached the class room they where supposed to be in. Unable to ignore it but not far off a fellow student had been following the girls and watching them. What a creep, Viana had had enough as the boy leaned against a locker nearby and stared the girls down once more. Unable to hold back anymore Viana shot a look his direction and smiled sinister as father spoke to her. Then her eyes flashed a chaotic purple color and instantly the boy couldn't help but start coughing violently A little bronchitis should do the trick to get him away. Satisfied with the lesson she had taught the kid of following her and her sister Viana looked to Viena and smiled a little before she took a step into the classroom, pulling her sister along.

First day. First day. First day. You know, repeating that doesn’t really change anything. You’ll do fine little one. Just be excited you’ll finally be learning something. Especially things that’d be so very useful. Right. Easy for her to say. She was a how-old goddess? He didn’t even give her the satisfaction of an answer. It wasn’t helpful to just be told he’d do fine. He knew he’d do fine, rationally, but this was nervewracking. He had barely had any time to meet people in the tour, and the one person he did didn’t seem to like the temple. Whatever. No point in stressing. As much as he didn’t want to acknowledge her comment, she was right. Of course she was right. Even his internal dialogue was stuck on loop right now. He let his small hands go up and rub his face. Ugh.

He had gotten breakfast, and was just finishing it as he neared the classroom. He hadn’t thought about the wait time. A lot of people were getting food... and that meant that the cafeteria was swamped. They had food like bagels and whatnot that you could just go grab, but he wanted something warm and fresh. He needed to either get up earlier next time or be less picky and just grab from the buffet sort of thing they had laid out.

He wasn’t paying much attention to anything or anyone around him, just keeping his eyes down. He didn’t want to have to interact with anyone, and didn’t want to somehow get in more trouble. They’d had quite the strong talking to for disobeying like they had. He sighed as he opened the door, glancing at the two strange looking twins before hurrying to take his seat. Kaleb gave a small wave to his teacher. Hopefully she wasn’t mad at him still... and... where was the kid he had seen before?

Endurance training lasted longer than Zinnia first thought. He would be late for class at this rate. Frost covered the ground around Zinnia, and ice coated the trees. His own body was covered in self-inflicted scars. Battered breaths poured out his lips and blood out his scant wounds. The ritual markings that littered his body, fueled by blood, were still giving off a faint glow. A glow that grew fainter and fainter still by the second. Until the glow faded away completely and the wounds began to clot. Class started in only a matter of minutes, it was time to go.

Zinnia moved his aching body as quickly as he could. Making his way through the woods that surrounded the campus, to the campus grounds and finally inside the school building. Zinnia entered the classroom, making sure to make as little noise as possible as to not interrupt the class that had started fifteen minutes ago. Once inside the classroom, Zinnia nodded at his teacher, as if to apologize without words for being late. Zinnia took his seat next to the boy who he had just meet yesterday. Kaleb was his name. Zinnia said good morning to the boy and extended his hand in greeting, hoping to give the boy a friendly shake. What neither party would realize until it was too late was that a wound on Zinnia's palm had yet to fully heal. If Kaleb was to shake Zinnia's hand, some blood would smug off, that much was for certain.

Viena:

Their situation was abysmal at best. Even at the behest of their Father, Viena wasn't exactly enthusiastic about their predicament. It was either this - Astrella's Boarding School for the Powered's attempt at converting them to "the good guys," or death. Truth be told, with what their Father could do, perhaps death itself wouldn't stop them, but considering her want to not experience it, she wasn't about to put that much trust in the man's prowess in the dark arcane. So, there was only one option, and they were forced to take it. So here they were, after a week of what should have been considered imprisonment (intelligent decision on the School's part), about to partake in their first "Formal Instruction."

They already knew how to use their abilities. The rest of all this was indoctrination into conflicting morals.

So she walked hand-in-hand with her sister Viana, navigating the halls with ease as she traced the route they'd take through the school to their class. It wasn't a hard route - she could hardly call this school a maze with what they've navigated before, so she hadn't been lost in the slightest. It was only until her sister's actions that her attention was interrupted. Viana seemed to think that inflicting someone with Bronchitis was a proper way to get them to look away, so just as soon as the boy started coughing, she had pulled the sickness from him and rid the world of it without any trace of her intervention... That is, aside from her sister.

"You know we've yet been granted permission to leave, sister," she replied quietly, her voice a velvet soprano. "And you know you're not to use your powers on others. What if they knew that was your doing? We need to keep as little of our abilities known. I can't protect you if my hands are bound as well."

Viena knew her sister was aware of the score: If one fouled up, the other was just as responsible. They had to be more careful. More selective of their targets and when to strike. It wasn't as if they were simply allowed to do as they please - no, that would be far against their self-righteous morals. She didn't break from her train of thought as she was led into the room and took a seat, pulling Viana into her lap within the desk and readying herself for the indoctrination that would be their first lesson...

(I'll post Nanami sometime soon. I'm having some sinus issues and it took me too long to type this in between all the sneezing and nose-clearing. I apologize for the inconvenience.)

(I apologize deeply for the long wait and any inconveniences that it has brought about)

Nanami:

Students trickled in and her anxiety grew by the ticking of the clock. Of course, her clock was somewhat different as not only did it count the seconds, but had another hand which ticked every half second as well. So it wasn't the hand that counted the seconds that measured her anticipation, but that which counted each half second with it's almost inaudible tick. Still, she would wait for the students to file in and get themselves comfortable before she'd start. It'd give her time to think over how she would start the class. Would she even get into subjects at all?

She gave it a few moments before she decided she wouldn't. What was more important was student safety - they already had one incident; she couldn't truly call it an attack per-se, considering... Well, where the person of interest had fought. The more she thought about it, the more she began to think the unidentified intruder could've possibly taken the security bots as provocation. Of course, Nanami didn't have evidence yet, but it was more of a gut feeling, and one that she couldn't shake. Perhaps at this point, it might be more beneficial to try to get this person to show up again in a controlled environment since the answers ended at the field.

There were only more questions.

"Hi everyone!" Nanami called out with a smile and a wave. "Welcome to the first day of class! You all know who I am, but I'd like for everyone to go around and give us a little info about themselves. I'll start:

"My name is Nanami Shirayuki, obviously a teacher here in Astrella's and I'm something the Hero associations would call a 'Bounty Hunter' of sorts, considering I've decided to discriminate between contracts in my free time rather than respond to an agency's call. It helps me to make sure I have enough time to educate and do what I enjoy."

After giving a wide smile and folding her arms in front of her, she continued. "Would anyone like to volunteer anything about themselves? It doesn't have to be a whole lot - just whatever you would like to share."

He was happy to have class begin. This was the dawning of a new day, etc etc. He didn't have to think overmuch about the explosion and all of that scary stuff that happened. It was handled and that was that. He didn't even get in too much trouble, so he didn't have to worry about that either. Kaleb took Zinna's hand with a smile, but frowned slightly at the small amount of drying blood that wiped off. "Are you alright?" he whispered, looking at him with concern, "Do you need a bandage? We could ask for one." Kaleb wiped the blood off and sighed inwardly.

People here were strange. Today would probably be the first of many strange days... though perhaps that wasn't a bad thing. It could be fun. The teacher started talking, shearing his thoughts off abruptly. He looked up at her and smiled a bit. Finally. She introduced herself and what she did for a living. A bounty hunter. Fascinating. That meant that she was in the private sector. She must really enjoy teaching for that, his goddess chimed in mentally, From what I understand, those who go with an agency get paid far more... though... this school likely pays out the nose. After all, they expect and want only the best. It makes for an impressive staff.

That was a good point. Miss Nanami was probably high ranking. Oh wow... how many teachers here would be S class? That was an intimidating notion...

She asked for volunteers, and Kaleb took a moment before shyly raising his hand, "I'll go I suppose."

He looked at the other students nervously before clearing his throat and speaking up, "My name is Kaleb Otheri. I'm fourteen years of age, and I, of course, practice Divine Magic..." He paused for a moment, debating on what all to share, "To put things simply, I have a Goddess that is linked to me. I'm kind of her champion, I suppose. She can use me as a conduit. She gave me my abilities in return for saving my family, who has worshiped her for at least a few generations by now."

Kaleb looked to Nanami before clearing his throat again awkwardly, "Ah... that's all... I guess."

Zinnia pulled away and returned his focus to the teacher, he had a hard time facing Kaleb after realizing his tactical misstep. He hoped the boy wouldn't notice the small streak of blood on his hand, an accidental gift from Zinnia. Even as Kaleb expressed his concern, Zinnia couldn't look the boy in the eyes. What was he to say? It would make Zinnia seem like a fool if he told Kaleb that he was cutting himself before class in the woods. He had to act fast, but couldn't think of anything on the fly. Kaleb was waiting for a response, Zinnia knew he had to say something. Lest he solidify himself as a weirdo in the heavenly boy's mind.

Zinnia turned his head to address the boy. It would be easy, all Zinnia had to do was divert the conversation by saying nothing was wrong and leave it at that. Yet the words that came forth betrayed his plans.

"Ah don't worry about that I was just cutting myself..."

Let's try that again.

"What I meant to say was that I was practicing self-harm..."

One more try.

"I was practicing magic by bleeding. And I'm going to stop talking now."

Mission failed. Any chance to redeem himself died with those three explanations. It's a shame too, Zinnia thought he was hitting it off well with Kaleb. I had hoped the two would become friends. With any luck, they still can be assuming Zinnia didn't hit the final nail in his coffin yet.

The teacher asked for volunteers to introduce themselves. Kaleb was first to go. What he had to say was interesting, to Zinnia at least. A conduit for his Goddess. A champion. 'Must be nice, to have a Goddess on your side.' he thought. Kaleb was quick and sat back down once he was finished. Seeing no one else rise, Zinnia took it upon himself to go next. He rose.

"Hello. My name is Zinnia Enkidu. I am an ice magic user. My home is a remote village in the mountains so this is my first time being in a developed civilization. It's all very new and quite overwhelming. My relationship with the Gods and Goddess is poor, so my magic isn't all that impressive. I hope to learn how to better channel my patron Goddess energy. That is all."

There was an eloquence in his tone of voice that was unbefitting of a 16-year-old. It hinted at Zinnia's attempt to sound more mature than he really was. Zinnia sat back down. Who would be the next to present, he wondered.

Pouted as she listened t her sisters words. "I'm sorry sissy." She said as she sat down in her sisters lap. Smiling happily as she wrapped her arms around Viena's neck and nuzzled into her. Looking up as the teacher spoke. Giving her a empty stare before looking to the two that stood up and spoke of themselves and what they could do. Once the ice girl sat down. Looking around Viana sighed knowing how this school bullshit went. Figuring she would get it over with she stood up off her sister but kept an arm loosely hung around Viena's neck. "I'm Viana and this is my twin Viena. If you haven't already heard of us we are otherwise known as the plague twins. We aren't here by choice to say the least as we would much rather be causing chaos somewhere else and killing. It was either this or death for us. As for our abilities we can thank father for them. He made us what we are and gave us the abilities we have. In edition he helps us. Tells us how to do things and better out lives." With that Viana sat back down her sisters lap and relaxed there resting her head against Viena's shoulder as she looked to the teacher to see if she wanted anything else from the two.

Nanami:

Well, the introductions were.... interesting. She couldn't help but to raise a brow at the third - one of the Plague Twins that had spoken up. Nanami had heard of them and knew what they were capable of. Viena seemed to be the more.. Reserved of the two, and honestly, that had put her more on edge, though it wasn't apparent on her face. There was a lot of work to be done. She had an inkling as to who this Father figure of sorts was, but she would have to investigate more before she would settle on her own answer. Though if she was right, it would explain why the girls were as they were. They had been guided into a path that only brought suffering to them in the end, and her heart silently broke for them.

She had to find some way to break through to them by the time they were done here. There wasn't another option.

"Well, now that we've all gotten to know each other, How about we have a little display of what we can do with the help of our deities? Nothing dangerous or something of the like, though: This is a place to learn, and I don't want anyone's chance of doing so being cut short due to having to see a nurse."

(I"m sorry this is so small, but I have to put up at least something. I lost my document twice now.)

One by one the rest of the students introduced themselves. Most of the students seemed pleasant enough. Many of the students conducted their introduction in a way that made them seem like genuinely fun people. Which was good. Zinnia would have hated to spend a year or more with a bunch of boring stubs. Though Zinnia was only giving partial attention to the other students as they stood up. He couldn't stop thinking about the two sisters, admittedly. Viana and Viena. Those two swiftly made a mark on Zinnia. Something about their introduction gripped Zinnia. Was it their air of superiority? Or maybe the hint of disgust ever evident in their tone. Or was it that that the girls set off primal desires previously dormant in Zinnia. Such is the reality of a boy growing through puberty.

No. More realistically Zinnia was stuck on Viana, her comments about killing and chaos. She said it all so casual and Zinnia still found himself mulling over her words. Did she realize the gravity of what she said? She spoke like a tyrant. Hardly. Less like a tyrant and more like a monster. Or worse yet. She spoke like a fool.

Everyone had finished their introductions and Nanami asked the class to present their own abilities.

"If I must." Zinnia rose to the challenge. Though the words he said suggested that he found the task a drag, the smile on his face and his confident stride to the front of the classroom seemed to suggest otherwise. Once he was front and center Zinnia snapped his fingers. At first, there was nothing. Those with exposed skin would soon notice the temperature dropping. A draft, a gust of cold air circulated through the room. While he still had the attention of the class Zinnia pointed at the windows which were all closed. Another snap and the temperature dropped again. It seemed his goal was to turn the room into a refrigerator. But then, snow.

From the ceiling, from above, small ice crystallites. It was snowing. Not dramatically, each flake would melt instantly upon hitting a surface, but a new one would form to take its place. To fall gently and dance in the cold wind. Zinnia let the snow fall for a while longer before snapping one more time, calling all the snowflakes before him, swirling in a vortex above. And dispersing them one last time. As the last flakes fell, new ones did not take their place, and the temperature returned to normal. Zinnia bowed, then walked back to his seat. He sat down, looked across to Kaleb, and shot him a wink while pointing at him with his fingers in a gun shape.

'He must think I'm so cool. Totally makes up for that previous mistake. Nice save Zinnia. Nice save.'

He didn't even get a response from Zinnia about the bandaid thing... that is, until he said something totally and completely unexpected. He was... cutting himself? Self-harm? Magic by bleeding? A look of concern coated Kaleb's face as his little eyebrows scrunched. Was Zinnia depressed? Was he okay? What was he supposed to do in a situation like this? Those concerns still lingered with him after he was done introducing himself.

The small boy sat back down and balled his robes into his fists nervously. What did people think of him now?

His eyes moved back up to the front of the class when Zinnia decided to go next, curious about what he would say next, and still concerned about what he had said before. A remote village in the mountains? Which mountains? Like... in the United States or off somewhere else entirely? He'd have to ask him about it later. It was kind of sad that he didn't have a good relationship with his goddess... maybe that's why he was cutting himself? Kaleb bit his lip a little as he thought about it. Maybe he'd be able to help somehow? He could cheer him up in some way, and then he wouldn't have to hurt himself.

Next were Viana and Viena. Twins... and somewhat disturbing. Plague twins, according to the one that spoke. How strange... was he supposed to have heard of them? He... couldn't recall their moniker. They had to be delinquent students... no doubt about that given how they spoke about killing and chaos and being put to death. They were so dark. Depressing. The antithesis of what practically everyone here was supposed to be going for.

For a moment he wondered why they even bothered enrolling people like that. Wasn't it just a waste of time? Wouldn't it just be easier to stick them in a jail cell so they could rot like they deserve to? Having them here, teaching them... it would only make stronger Supervillains in the end, wouldn't it?

Kaleb bit his lip again. No. That wasn't fair. They were kids all the same, and even if they were going down a bad path... this was their chance to turn their lives around. Everyone deserves a chance, even people with the sort of desires they seemed to have. Maybe the school could turn them around. He looked down, I shouldn't be so pessimistic...

Once everyone was done, the teacher spoke up again, and it couldn't have come sooner. He ended up so wrapped up in thoughts he missed half the class's introductions. But then... she wanted something that he was wholly unprepared for. A little display...? He felt cold, frozen for a moment as he realized he'd have to do so in front of others. What would he even do? What could he show? Would his goddess want to make a display? He didn't want to end up exhausted for the rest of the day. That would be awful. If she wanted to though, he couldn't really stop her, could he? He could just say no. Yeah... maybe he'd say no... but then... what TO show? Oh goddess this sucked.

Zinnia went first.

He was so confident and strong. He was someone that Kaleb wanted to be like, or at least try to be like. He was impressive to boot. His little show at first seemed to do nothing, but his nose and cheeks started to get cold and go rosy. A breezy cold wind, colder still, and then snow started to fall. It was so pretty and dramatic and wonderful... and the applications! This could be used so many ways if Zinnia was creative about it. As if that wasn't dramatic enough, his little vortex of snow made it even flashier and more impressive!

Kaleb quietly watched him go back to his seat and, for whatever reason, he winked at him and did the weird finger gun thing. He looked startled and blushed brightly at Zinnia's bizarre acknowledgement. That was... kinda cute.

A few more people went and showed off their abilities before he decided to bite the bullet and go up. Kaleb's hands found his hem again as he nervously played with it for a moment.

"So..." he muttered, looking around at the class, the teacher, and then Zinnia, "I'm not sure my abilities are too flashy..."

He sighed and let go of his hem as he tried to calm himself down. After another second or so he darted from one side of the room to the other, incredibly fast. Though not as fast as the teacher, by far, he was faster than humans could regularly be. His stopping was a bit lackluster, however, as he skidded into the back wall.

"Th... that's one of the things I can do. It's... ah... hard to stop my momentum though... most of my other abilities are either dangerous to do indoors, non-applicable at the moment... or they're really taxing."

Although she went as slowly as she could getting ready in the early morning shee still managed to have time tons of time to spare after showering and getting dressed. Enough time for her to grab breakfast from the cafeteria, go back and clean her room, then tear it to shreds again looking for her phone which was buzzing its little heart out despite it having been put on silent when she went to sleep last night. Reading the text she scratched her head in confusion... Didnt he just recently get locked up? she thought to herself before her eyes bugged when she saw the time. "CRRRAAAAAPPP" She squealed as she sprinted from the dorms all the way to her classroom just below the speed of sound bursting into the class accompanied by a small gust of wind. Finally coming to a stop she pressed the button on the side of her helmet raising her face shield.

The class was pretty small only about a dozen students sat in their desks and the teacher at hers. She should've been nervous, first day of school, Plenty of people she didn't know and she would likely have to talk to the class if the movies and tv shows were anything to go off of. Yet this girl seemed completely unphased by the new faces. Instead she spoke to the entire class without missing a beat. "Hiya everyone, im sephy nice to meet you all...any body know anything about this tempest guy? Apparently he broke out, isnt he the guy who went all "darkside of the force" a little while ago?" she seemed to spit the whole sentence out at once speaking with the speed of an auctioneer, if the girl was shy...she sure had a funny way of showing it.

Viena:

The abilities that had been displayed so far were.... Well, she couldn't say they were impressive. None of it had the killing power of their Father, and though the child who brought forth snow and cold could use it in a multitude of ways, it couldn't bring about too much suffering to those who would wrong him. She and her sister had that power. They could maim, kill, dole out undue suffering, and revel in it. As far as she was concerned, they were flies, but it would be quite rude to point out such a thing. It had to do with some foolish notion of saying nothing if it wasn't something kind. The world didn't work that way. She knew that. Viana knew that.

It was only with power and destruction that one could find a place safe enough to call home. To call a haven. She wouldn't be stripped of that - not as long as she and her sister both lived.

But now it was time for her to introduce her abilities. SHe would go first. Slipping out from under Viana and seating her, Viena strode to the front of the class, her demeanor showing nothing as her visage of stone watched no one in particular. The clicking of her heels rang as she walked, all crisp and confident with the sway of her hips. She didn't do any of it for sexual appeal, but she knew that at least someone would take it in such a manner. Viena would kill that notion quickly.

Once she reached the front of the class, Viena held her hand out to the side and around her forearm she created a portal. She stood for a moment, just a second, in stark stillness before she withdrew her hand, and within it was a single, white mouse. It sat calmly in her palm, nibbling and squeaking in what some would call a cute fashion. She would allow this to go on for a few moments before her fingers curled just slightly, and with that, the small little squeaks became screams of agony as it writhed and twitched, blood oozing from its nose, eyes, ears, and mouth, before falling stark still. This took a full minute, but she didn't relent. Instead, the rat began to decompose rapidly, the flesh beneath fur giving away as organs and bone and fur became dust and compost. It was a gruesome sight to behold, but anyone who watched her could tell she had been transfixed on the transformation of the lively rodent, never once taking her eyes off of it.

Once she was done, she simply created another portal, stuck her hand through, and withdrew it, showing it utterly clean. She smiled, and though it was a brilliant smile, her demonstration had turned it into something twisted. Viena wasn't a human. She had loved every second of the little mouse's demise, and was proud of her demonstration.

She was, as one would call her, a monster, and she had earned that title with flying colors in her book. It was a compliment, not an insult, and she wore it like a badge of honor.

With that, Viena strode back to her seat and slipped back under her sister, hugging her tight before waiting for the next happening to occur.

Nanami:

Kaleb and Zinnia had impressed and mystified her with their abilities. With Kaleb's speed, though unrefined, she could tell that with a little practice, he could be a wonderful bulwark against forces which would hope for the demise of the innocent, and Zinnia's beautiful display was something that was a sight to behold. Then came Viena, who seemed to be the more controlled of the Plague twins, if one could call it that. Perhaps she would show how she could create an antidote for a poison with her abilities? Maybe some kind of quick form of travel?

She watched as, of course, Viena had created a portal, and she felt elated at first. Nanami thought it was going to be something horrid..

Too bad she was correct.

The cute little mouse that Viena produced had let out a horrid, blood-chilling shriek of terror and anguish as it slowly died within her grasp, and Nanami could feel her heart break. It was true, what Astrella said when she informed her the Plague twins were.... Corrupted. SHe could see the glee in Viena's eyes though her face gave away nothing else, and she could almost see a shudder - maybe she imagined it? - of pleasure as the rodent finally died and began to decompose. Nanami became sick to her stomach as the girl unceremoniously dumped the remains into another portal and sat down with her sister. There was something horridly wrong with the child. Something terrible had befallen them, and Nanami had to fight the urge to let a tear slip from her knowing all of this. She couldn't allow herself to show such a thing in front of the students.

Instead, she slipped into work mode and gave a single nod, turning back to the class.

"Well then," she began, her voice now somewhat flat. "Now that we have a new student; Ms. Sephy, would you like to show your talent?"
