Background:


Arthur has lived in the same house all his life.  He has a deep connection to the area.  He's never thought about leaving.  He's perpetually stuck in his childhood - not wanting anything to change.  His dad is a construction worker.  His mom is an artist.  When he was eleven, his mom started to get sick.  He's always been incredibly close to his mother.  He looks like her - he has her heart too.  He caught on to her state very early on.  Through the years, Arthur has been her constant caretaker.  She's gotten gradually worse, but he refuses to think so.  He stays on the bright side to the point of fault.


He has a little sister named Diana.  When she was little she adored him, now their relationship is a little rocky.  Arthur doesn't have a very good relationship with his dad.  While his dad is usually well meaning, he's incredibly distant and stiff.  He's somewhat given up on trying to connect with his son.  Arthur has a bit of a inadequacy complex when it comes to his dad.  Arthur and Diana have some animosity towards each other as both of them vie for the affections of the opposite parent.  Despite this, Arthur is fiercely protective of her and the other members of his family.  He has a great capacity to love, and will do so whenever he gets the chance.

Alice @Literally - Alice and Arthur have been close since they were babies due to the friendship between their parents.  As time went on they remained close, though the dynamic of the relationship began to change.  Alice was Arthur's first crush, first kiss, and first girlfriend.  When they got into high school, things got more complicated and they started having conflict more and more often.  They have broken up and gotten back together more times than Arthur cares to attempt to remember.  More recently, they've been at odds due to Alice's friendship with Arthur's ex-bestfriend-now-turned-rival, Angel.  Arthur cares a great deal for Alice and it often seems that he has an infinite amount of tenderness for her.  He's never known a time when Alice wasn't present in his life, be it as his friend, girlfriend, or one of the more complicated roles she's played.

Angel @Couldyoustfu - Angel and Arthur met in elementary school and were inseparable almost immediately after their first meeting.  As they grew older, Arthur didn't notice any change in their relationship until he offered his support to Angel regarding the abuse he was facing at home.  Angel's quick anger and sudden outburst took Arthur horribly by surprise.  Arthur, always a sensitive boy, felt the distance Angel put between them closely.  Presently, as Arthur has somewhat stopped trying to communicate with Angel in order to discover what it was he did wrong, Angel has taken to criticizing Arthur and looking to antagonize him in whatever way he can.  Secretly, Arthur still blames himself for Angel's stark change in behavior towards him - though he isn't sure what it was he did wrong.  He wishes he and Angel could make amends somehow, but his efforts have been rebuffed so many times he's pretty much given up.

Jessica @banished - Jessica and Arthur dated for a time a few years back, during one of the periods that Alice and Arthur were split.  Arthur was very taken with Jessica's spirit and their chemistry together.  Jessica ended the relationship.  Though it was years ago, Arthur is still fond of Jessica, if not a little bruised about their breakup.  He can be outwardly protective of her in more serious situations.

Sebastian @Elizabeth Duchamps - Sebastian and Arthur hooked up at a party a couple months ago.  Arthur has vague and incomplete memories of this, as he was incredibly intoxicated at the time.  He's always found Sebastian to be incredibly attractive and enticing, but has never known him well enough in order to develop feelings.

Sam @deathworm - Sam and Arthur knew of each other for a long period of time before they ever really developed into anything but acquaintances, as they run in different crowds at school.  Despite this, Arthur began to notice Sam more regularly making a point to be around him.  After Angel and Arthur had their falling out, Sam was there for Arthur.  Through this experience, Sam and Arthur became close friends.  They bonded over their common ground and their complimentary natures, forming a strong connection.  Over time, Arthur has developed feelings for Sam that he's sure are entirely unrequited, so he does his best to pay them no mind.  He desperately doesn't want their friendship to be negatively affected, and after what happened with Angel, Arthur does everything he can to hold on to his friends.  He actively attempts to not recognize his feelings for Sam as what they really are.
