It was late evening. A particular electronics store was just about to close, most of the customers inside having already cleared out. Dozens of potentially useful electronics littered the shelves, some of the more valuable and powerful ones locked behind glass display cases. Only three customers remained near closing time, each shopping for their own needs until being approached by an employee.

"Stores closin', ma'm."

One by one, the remaining three customers left, followed by several employee's. After their nightly duties were finished, the very last employee went to leave the building, before stopping as they thought they heard footsteps... An impatient sigh could be heard as the young man turned away from the exit, wandering further into the store as he looked about, eyes narrowed and searching. He wandered a few aisle, not finding a soul left in the building but knowing fully well someone was still in here. Shoplifters were a common nuisance, usually they'd hide in the bathroom until closing time but in this case they were too impatient, and gave themselves away with the very faint sound of their footsteps.

"I know you're in here." The employee called, sounding quite tired after a long day of work. "Come on out. Everything's locked up, anyways, you can't get any of it..."

A moment of silence was the employee's response, until a figure stepped into view. It was what the employee expected; a kid, probably some delinquent that's hoping to steal high-end computer parts. The teenager was an amber-eyed Asian, none other than Kano, looking obscenely guilty and nervous as he stepped out into view of the annoyed, unsuspecting employee.

"Eheh... hehe... Was it closing time? I didn't realize..." Came Kano's nervous excuse, earning a scoff from the other man.

"Rii-iight. Let's see what the police say, I'm sure your parents will be pleased to hear about what you almost did." He threatened, utterly impatient with these shenanigans. "Now, come with m- Wuh-" Getting cut off, the employee looked to his right, too late to realize that the entire aisle was getting toppled over right on top of him. The rattling of cheaper electronics and metal crashed and echoed throughout the entire building as he was buried under the mess, jostled aggressively and thoroughly knocked into unconsciousness as he lay buried under all of the tech. Kenji approached from behind, having been the one to shove the aisle over (Or, more accurately, having launched his entire body into the shelves in order to send it falling over the employee). He looked down uncaringly at the young man, no doubt he must've been bruised and battered, maybe even injured, but a groan sounding off from the semi-conscious man told the twins he would live another day.

"Hot damn..." Kano uttered under his breath, staring at the mess they had made. The noise had been so deafeningly loud, it was like an alarm that had sounded, and even if no one was left inside the building to hear it, it was alarming enough to create a sense of urgency. "We should... get our stuff together and get out?" The question was unnecessary, as when Kano looked up, he'd see his brother was already gone, having left to eagerly gather up the things they needed. He gave a sigh, turning to find then follow his brother, seeing him eying the tech locked away behind glass display cases.

The twins busied themselves in the now-empty store. Grabbing computer bags, they filled each with what they needed, grabbing cheaper electronics simply for the plastic cases before moving on to tackle how to open the locked display cases. Inside, dozens of advanced cell phones and small laptops sat for the twins to gawk at adoringly, each fully aware of the potential that the electronic parts offered them. Now, it was simply a matter of getting to them...

"I can probably find some keys... That guy from earlier likely has them, it'll probably be annoying trying to dig him out from under that shelf and all that stuff, but-" Kano began, only to be sorely interrupted as his brother left mid-sentence, again... Only to return with a small metal object. As Kenji reared back, Kano only had a moment to realize what he was doing, and clear out of the way, as Kenji threw the object with all his strength against the glass. It was just enough to shatter it... But it was also enough to trigger an alarm, as the glass case was not the only means of defense for these pricey electronics. "Holy sh-" The store erupted with noise as the alarms sounded. Seeing his brother already shoving objects to his bag, Kano scrambled to help. Knowing time was of the essence, the twins gathered what they wanted and ran for the exit of the building, each leaving and running off into the open streets of Gotham before getting spotted out by any cops. Luck was seemingly on their side, as they had left before any cop showed up to the store.

Jean Paul Valley stood on the roof top of an apartment in the vestments of Azrael. He had not put on the mask yet as he wasn't ready to become the avenging angel. Still, with Batman out of town, Jean Paul had promised to keep an eye on Gotham. Considering the last time...

"Hey, choir boy." A female voice said in his ear.

He reached up and tapped the ear bud he was wearing.

"Go, O." Jean Paul answered.

"Got a ping on a robbery in your sector." Oracle reported. "The cops won't get there in time."

"I'll check it out." Jean Paul said. "Thanks, Oracle."

"No problem." She answered. "Go get 'em, tiger."

Jean Paul closed his eyes and put on his mask. When his eyes opened, it wasn't Jean Paul at the wheel.

"Location." Azrael rasped.

"Adding it to your gps." Oracle answered.

With a direction, Azrael took off. Using his enhanced strength, he would jump between most rooftops, occasionally using a grapple hook when he needed it. It was on his way to the scene of the crime that he noticed two youths that appeared to be running away from that area. Without a word, Azrael turned to follow the youths.

The twins had fled far from the store, keeping to the dark sidewalks until they each turned to flee into a deserted alleyway, seeking only to prevent themselves from being caught or even spotted by the police. Both were breathing heavily by the time they stopped, each bending over their knee's and gasping, adrenaline pumping through their veins. They were almost giddy at what they had just accomplished, not only had they obtained what they needed, but they had gotten away with it. Once catching their breaths, Kano grasped onto the straps of their bags, each being slung over their shoulders. He smiled a little shakily, and even began laughing a tiny bit, amazed and absolutely thrilled.

"We... We did it... We really did it!" He declared in glee, practically bouncing from foot to foot like an excited child. "We got it! We got everything we wanted, we... finally, finally!" He laughed louder, taking the bag from his shoulder to gently place it on the ground in front of him, feeling very much like a kid at Christmas. "I can't believe... we really got away with it... And it wasn't so bad! I mean... I hope that guy isn't hurt too bad, but, still, we got it." He lifted his gaze toward his brother.

Unlike him, Kenji showed no real ecstatic joy, instead he was going right to business. Already having the bag set out in front of him, he began taking parts and electronics out, to thoroughly examine their prize. Kano would know, for the first time in months, Kenji wasn't frustrated nor did he feel useless. Finally, he had something to do, something he truly wanted to do, even if it was as tiny as tinkering with little toys. Thrilled to finally see his brother satisfied in stead of frustrated or unhappy, Kano kept wearing his proud grin, even giving a childish giggle as he watched Kenij begin to take one of the electronics apart, to closely examine the parts inside.

"You got this, Kenji, you're going to make something totally new, even if it'll take months." Kano smiled, even as Kenji failed to respond to his brother. He sighed happily and sat down, pressing his back to the wall that made up their alleyway, tilting his head up toward the sky. Neither twin were aware of being watched and followed, in fact, they seemed quite oblivious as any clueless teenager probably would. "...Heh, hope it doesn't end up raining... Maybe tomorrow we can head into the public library? You'll have a table to work on, at least..." Kano spoke, whilst Kenji continued his work, setting out the tiniest and largest of parts in front of him and organizing them carefully. It seemed as if nothing would distract Kenji from his work, however small or pointless it may seem.

From above, Azrael watched the two youths congratulate themselves on their ill gotten gain. Their motives seemed to be for parts rather then for resale. Unusual, but it changed little. With a grunt, he jumped over the parapet of the roof he was on and landed in front of the twins, his tattered red cape billowing around him.

"Know that men call you thieves." The Angel of Veangeance growled. "Know that judgement is upon you. It is up to you whether to accept mercy by coming quietly, or take on the full wraith of Azrael!"

Azrael would have preferred to simply dispense his wraith, but the small part that was still Jean Paul wanted to do this without violence. But the sword on his back promised what could happen if mercy was rejected.
