Biography: Descended from Baliel's Original followers, Devyn is one of a newer breed of Corrupted known to most as Demons. They revel in the destruction and chaos of  Belial's Court, manipulating humans and even other demons in the sickening games that occupy the Highlords time. Devyn began their life as little more than an imp, with nothing but a need to survive and a chip in their shoulder to guide them. Within 10 years, they had a small army of vampires and greenskins, Devyn managed to secure a small foothold in the far corners of the Darklands, and set up the closest thing the land had to a village. heir eye for detail and meticulous need for total power ep their village alive and surviving, for many years longer than another might have. Of course, in the Darklands, no organization can exist but that of the Citadel. It took 30 years to gain the Highlords attention, but once Belial's eye was caught, Devyn had a choice- leave their life's work to be destroyed, or stand their ground and challenge the Highlord of All Corruption. Devyn personally went the Citadel, and offered to lead the raid against their town.

The games got more dangerous then, but Devyn learned to take advantage of their ability. With their powers of transformation, they made themselves seem like not one, but 2 individuals, and each side of Devyn had their own scheming plots to play in the court. No matter which specific faction came out on top, Devyn was always on the winning side. Since then, they're reached the high rank of Archdemon, and, unlike many other Demons, they exist as one of the few Belial cannot afford to lose- they're still at risk of random execution, of course, just not as much as before. Their secret power has been revealed since then, but all members of the Citadel still get a little nervous at any white haired demon who pops up in the crowded courtrooms.

Now, 50 years into their term as Archdemon, they are rather comfortable with their power. They have a small personal retinue of lower demons, and they order them around with ruthless effiecieny, and constant replacement. Devyn is determined to eventually be the only complacent on in the Citadel, and to gain a spot of safety in the Highlord's shadow until they die (hopefully of old age). Their biggest political asset remains their meticulous eye for detail, and their ability to carefully sow chaos- Belial appears to be less subtle, but Devyn has a feeling their cunning nature is exactly what Belial needs to truly become the most powerful lord in the land.

Personality: Devyn is a bit of a wild card. They rarely take orders from their master, but they know when they can't afford to ignore Belial's orders. Despite their own rebellious nature, they're extremely controlling and bossy of their own subordinates. Assured that they always have the best plan and the best ability, Devyn isn't terribly trusting. They're rather do everything themself than trust a lackey to do a good job. They keep a small group of trusted Citadel members as their personal servants, but a single step out of line, and they are killed, and replaced with the next name on the ever growing waiting list to kiss the boots of Belial's personal favourite.

Devyn is very manipulative and controlling of humans and even other demons, and has a tendencies to twist other's desires around to suit their own means- enemy or friend, Devyn knows how to make a demon want what they want, and make another do their dirty work. It's not always the cleanest way to work, but it often makes things easier for the demon when they have their own hands full with work for Belial.

They tend to vary a bit in how they present based on their gender presentation- Female Devyn is cold and haughty, essentially a controlling snob. Male Devyn is more chaotic, filled with bloodlust and a desire to make people suffer, regardless of the means. Non-Binary Devyn is likely the worst though, hiding their cruel tricks behind a kind and even nurturing mask. However, despite what many think, Devyn doesn't change with their gender presentation, rather, they change the mask of their gender based on their mood.

Likes: A good cup of coffee, a shiatsu massage, submissive idiots, kinky sex, and peace and quiet. They're also rather fond of the smell of smoke.

Dislikes: Bloodstains, children, mess, sycophants, the color green.

Hobbies: Devyn, surprisingly, likes naps, and is very sexual. Their main hobbies involve utilizing the sort of harem they've built on the outskirts of the city for relaxation. The Citadel can be rather stressful, and nothing is better than having a little corner of people who are entirely yours.

Job Application

Regency: Devyn is essentially the other side of the coin of Chaos- Belial is Chaos from Disorder and Confusion, and Devyn is Disorder through precision and detail. Both are needed to truly inspire fear, and as the Darklands grow, Devyn's eye for detail will be essential in picking out and quashing potential rebellions, and taking the tiny steps to ensure the balanced chaos that Belial quests for.

Allies: There aren't really allies in the Darklands- that being said, pleasing Devyn is one of the better ways to gain the Highlord's favour, so there are always a few demons and vampires eager to do work for the Archdemon. That being said, Devyn tends to mostly ask for favours from Vampires and Succubi/Incubi, for unknown reasons.

Devyn has a very, very small unit- 5 Imps who act as Devyn's spies across the Citadel. No one knows where they came from, or why Devyn chose them. They're publicly rather childish, but they always pick up just the right information for the regent to use against his opponents. Devyn has also asked Belial for immunity from his "moods" in exchange for their service.

Regent's privilege: The Lovers- Devyn's Harem doubles as their main fighting force- those pretty faces are good for more than love. A seemingly ragtag group of vampires, demons, and corrupted fey, they are also a deadly fighting force that numbers about 50- but they've been known to take down armies singlehandedly between them. The Lovers consist of both ranged and close fighters, and a small assortment of healers.

Clash: The political game in the Citadel is messy- no one is ever truly allied. Devyn constantly expects betrayal from Belial, and in the same way, Belial likely always expects betrayal from Devyn. The very nature of their alliance invites betrayal.

After all, Devyn likes Chaos, but there's no chaos to sow in a destroyed world. ((Quote: "I'm on of the idiots who lives in it"))

Talents: Devyn is skilled at dissembling, and has transformation magic-they tend to swap between 3 forms, but they can adapt to more- but their white hair always remains.

Strengths: Devyn's task as regent is complicated in its simplicity- they squash rebellions, spread the borders of the darklands, and stay out of Belial's way. They are good at following political currents, and can almost manage to make the Darkland armies do things with their careful organization. They are also personally skilled at combat, best with a sword, but not too bad with their hands. Still, their skills are mostly political, and their abilities at subtle manipulation and influence are no joke.

Weaknesses: Devyn hates disorder- they rely on a series of patterns in their life, and often, the disruption of those can throw them off in a horrible way. In a similar vein, apologies and most human sympathies confuse them greatly- they aren't fully able to tolerate things they can't understand.

They also have a physical weakness- they have a disjointed spine, and a firm hit to the back will disable them, possibly permanently.

Fluff (Optional)

Quotes for the codex: "If you do exactly as I say- exactly, with not even the slightest deviation- I might let you live to see the sun again. But not much longer than that."

"If you would just shut up, I might like you a bit more."

"Nothing is better than cup of warm wine, surrounded by all your favourite lovers."
