1). Follow all RPNation rules. Respect everyone, fade to black for erotic content or extreme gore, and be mature with sensitive matters. Of course, there will be killing involved in this roleplay. However, we ask for the description of the murder scenes to be kept to a PG rating.

2). There are SEVEN positions available. It’s NOT first-come, first-serve. Characters will be accepted based on who will make great additions to our plotlines. The only characters that are gender locked are the simp, the single mum, the ex-con, the influencer and the escort. All others are open to any gender. Characters MUST around 30 years old (youngest being 29, oldest being 35). The single mom, however, can create as many children as they please at any age. Just keep it realistic

3). Discord is a MUST for OOC. In the server, we will discuss plot lines, NPC development, and various other roleplay related agendas. We will also be spending time bonding and getting to know each other a bit more!

4). If you are not familiar with Korean culture, that is okay! But please! Be willing to learn and to ask questions! Research! If you are unsure about something, message me and I can help direct you to where you can find the proper information (for example: if you are unsure on socio-cultural expectations etc). We want to not only have a fun roleplay – but we also want to be as respectful and realistic as possible.

5). As much as I hate not being able to open this roleplay to everyone, writers must be 18+. This is simply because we will be roleplaying mature adult themes.

6). Expectations of posting? Well, I understand that people can get busy with real life. For example, I’m meant to be writing an assignment with ten scholar sources but here I am doing this. However, I do ask if you could try posting at least once a week to keep the RP alive and the story moving. There is no posting order, and we will break the roleplay up with ‘chapters’ with the aid of a generated word. For example; if the generated word is “umbrella”, then we may be experiencing some rain in this chapter. If another generated word is “socks”, then maybe there could be a sock thief in the apartment complex?! Finally, I’d love for the word count to at least hit 500 words. Don’t just give us a bone; we want some juicy meat too, please.

7). Realistic face claims only. Not digital art/anime/manga. Please, please, please, please make sure you do your research (for example, don’t have a character who is 35 with a 21 year old face claim)

They say the love of a father is so important, especially for baby boys. He’s the role model and shows their sons how to care for the house. He throws you in the air and catches you right before you are about to fall. He loves you unconditionally and wants nothing but the best for you. But that love was never in the Nam household. Umma and Appa constantly fought until one day, Appa just left. He said he would be back, but he never did come back.



life is full of rejection.

No matter how hard he tried, he could just never seem to reach the goal he had planted for himself. In school, he aimed to be at the top of the class. But fell short because he was never prepared for any exams or tests. For graduation, he wanted to make sure that he had the perfect scores to get into whichever university he wanted to. It seemed that, once again, he was aimed too high and was left with his last choices. Right as he entered university, he befriended a girl that he grew to have strong feelings for. However, those feelings were not returned and instead their relationship crumbled because of the emotions involved.






the misunderstanding.

Military service began for him after he had finished his studies. At the age of twenty-four, he was serving as a police officer in the Buk district of Gwangju. His mother was now living in Seoul, getting the best care at a facility due to her early onset of dementia. He had been patrolling the nightclub scene when he had been approached by an older lady, most likely in her forties. She kept on asking him if he was that guy. Completely confused, he began to question if she was sober or not. The lady continued, acting sly and curious, repeatedly asking him if he was that guy and then quoted an app name that he had never heard before in his life.

Just as he was about to really test if she was drunk or not, a gentleman around his age approached them. He was dressed in police uniform attire, although with slight differences. A police officer costume. He was extremely apologetic to him before turning to the older lady and began to direct her away. He held onto her hand in a way that was foreign to Eun-Sang. It wasn’t a way a son would hold his mother’s hand, helping her to where she needed to go. Oh no. It was a lover directing his partner off to dinner.

After his shift, Eun-Sang returned back to the base to retrieve his phone. After some googling, he discovered the app that the lady had been carrying on about was… Well, it was illegal for starters. It took him well over half an hour to try and find it. But it was also… a male escort service. Had he just accidentally made an account on an escort service? In a panic, he went to delete the app. Not before he received his first message. Any other person would’ve just deleted it straight away. But there was something so intriguing about this message. It was drawing him in.

And that’s how it all began.

Su-Bin is a woman lost in her own mind. More often than not, getting her attention results in a reaction much like waking a cat from its nap; surprise, then a gamble between curiosity or irritation. Because of her upbringing, she has a seemingly kind vocabulary, at least when it comes to strangers and/or towards those in passing. Niceties are offered, and usually quickly forgotten, more out of habit than anything else.

If you were to ask someone a bit closer to Su-Bin, however, you would discover a quite mixed bag. Some would say she is eccentric and difficult to converse with, while others will claim conversations flow like water. In reality, those who look for it will find it clear that, while the word "eccentric" is practically embodied by the woman, there is certainly a rhyme to the chaos, and it all lies in her interests. If uninterested in a topic, chances are she will not be intrigued in the conversation as a whole, often giving bare minimum responses if she feels the conversation is not necessary, and often seeks for ways to shorten or redirect them if possible or appropriate.

If you find a topic she's invested in, however, one could find themselves facing an encyclopedia on said field. At which point, the conversation will be limited only by the hours in a day, if allowed to go that far. Because of this disposition, Su-Bin is rather prone to oversharing in situations such as the aforementioned, although in recent years has become a tad better about that, though it's an ongoing process.

Speaking of ongoing processes, Su-Bin has been aware of her poor social awareness for a good few years, and her current state is a reflection of working on masking her natural behaviors, though doing so has also effected her mental state as well. She tends to work best during stable points in her life, and large changes, good nor not, in her routine will often give her excuses to fall back on old habits

Su-Bin lived quite a relatively normal life, all things considered. Her father was a dedicated salaryman, and as such the family was never hurting for money, though there was a noticeable absence of the third member of the family on a day to day basis. Because of that, Su-Bin and her mother got quite close over the years, often creating various forms of art together and for each other, which could be found displayed throughout their home.

Around the time Su-Bin was twelve years old, her father received an offer to work overseas in the States. After a lot of discussion between the adults, the decision was made, and they made the move. It wasn't for a good few years that she would realize the significance of leaving her family behind, but it was far too late by then, as if she'd ever even had a choice to stay. Regardless, she continued her schooling, which was the extent of her responsibilities at the time.

She would soon realize that people had a tendency to, well, not like her. She was mildly aware before the move, but overseas kids could be all the more viscous and hateful, of which her parents would attribute to the difference in culture. They made it known that Su-Bin was disliked for her predisposition, and as such she would delve deeper into her passion of the arts.

During her third year of secondary school, Su-Bin discovered a fascination with the art of tattooing. Both creating and receiving them; as a result, her sketchbooks would soon fill with ideas for such a medium, much to her parent's disdain. Their beliefs on the subject were carried over from Korea, being that tattoos were adorned by criminals and delinquents, not those with an image to uphold. Su-Bin cared little for this, pursuing the art regardless after graduation.

She worked common, "dead-end" jobs to sustain the prerequisites, as her parents wouldn't have their money fed into such an interest, and was working in an underground shop by the time she was 23. It was in these substitute jobs that she would come to realize the extent of how much of an "outsider" she seemed. Interactions were difficult, often resulting in termination after enough complaints, and it became increasingly difficult to hold a job. Eventually, enough was enough. With the help of her parents making a similar trip, Su-Bin decided it was time to go back home. At least for a while, she wanted to be back in Korea, where the rose-tinted shades of nostalgia led her to believe life would be so much easier. She arranged a move-in with two of her cousins, whom she hadn't spoken regularly to in over a decade, and hoped for a better life.

The last thing anyone expects when they see the large, bearded man that is Ben is just how much of a mother hen he is. Being the eldest of five boys to a single mother, Ben is just hard wired to take care of the people around them, to protect them, to nurture and guide them. If someone leaves a mess behind, he will clean it up, if he knows someone is hungry, he will cook something up to feed them, if someone is sad or lagging behind, Ben will give them a pat on the back or a kick in the ass before he has even realized he has done that. It does mean Ben has a bit of trouble with 'personal space' and can easily become overbearing, but there is never any ill intent in it. It is rarely a conscious decision, and more a subconscious one, a need to ensure everyone around him is taken care of before he looks to himself, to be the protector, the care provider, to be the one people can lean on when they need to because, well, that is just who he has always been, the pillar of his family, the center of it, and he cannot fathom being anything else. A good natured man, Ben is very jovial, he loves to laugh, to joke and to tease. He has a way of just 'filling' a room with his presence which, depending on the people in it, can make others feel very suffocated or exhausted. When he is sad, he jokes. When he is happy, he jokes. When he is angry, he jokes behind gritted teeth. Where others cry, he mocks himself. Its hard to really say this is a good thing and not just a means of his psyche to avoid dealing with the issues. This constant need to joke, to mock, to tease can make Ben seem extremely callous.

His jokes and jabs can be incredibly insensitive or outright cruel depending on the situation at hand. More so, he is rarely bothered if he insults or hurts the feelings of another, offering them a shrug if they point it out as if it doesn't really matter to Ben. The fact he can be rather callous and yet a mother hen does raise some.. interesting situations where Ben will attempt to make someone feel better, but manage to make it much, much worse while still being mostly unaffected by the whole thing, almost more an outside observer then empathetic friend. Its hard to really notice that distance between Ben and others, the gulf that exist between any real emotional connection or bond because Ben does such a good job at being an acquaintance that its hard to even notice he isn't actually a friend. He can laugh, joke, hang out.. but they will learn very little, if anything, about Ben and he won't remember things about them because, deep down, he doesn't really care about their stories. He keeps people's secrets and confidence, not because he is some great, loyal friend, and more that he often doesn't bother to remember them much less want to talk about them. He is a mother hen to people, he takes care of them, he watches over them, protects them, but... When it is truly looked at, Ben does those things because that is just what Ben does. Its his nature to do so, and its not because he actually cares about those people or that they are important to him. He'd do the same, and does do the same, to complete strangers.

Relationships, true relationships, take work and Ben is, well, a bit of a lazy bones. He can sit at his computer playing league all day or be laid out on the couch binge watching a show he has seen a hundred times before and would be perfectly content to do so. He lacks a real 'drive' to get up and go out. To do anything, especially, things he doesn't actually want to do. He is a master procrastinator, willing and able to push anything and everything until the last moment and when he knows he has to do something, he will sit and brood on the fact he needs to do it until the very last moment when he finally pushes himself to get up and do it. He only really goes outside when dragged out by others because... why? He has everything he needs wherever he happens to be at the time.

Three Moments
Boiled Hotdogs
Benjamin was the eldest of five boys with a five year gap between himself and his second siblings. Their mother keep food on the table through food stamps, child support and working double shifts at the gas station down the road. No car, a roach infested two bedroom apartment, dish soap washed clothing and enough boiled hotdogs to blot out the arteries. That was the childhood of Benjamin. His mom was more his 'friend' then his mother, who tended to make.. bad decisions, he'd watch her fall in and out of love with every man that came by as if that was the answer to every problem, that one such man would save them and lift them from perdition. What actually tended to happen is one abusive boyfriend later, Benjamin would have a new bruise and a new sibling. But he'd always take care of her, of his brothers.. he'd boil the hotdogs, make the ramen, put the cereal into plastic containers to keep the roaches out, he'd pretend to not be hungry so everyone else could eat. But it was okay, because he was the oldest, he was Benjamin, that was what he was supposed to do, they needed him and he needed to be needed.

Of Love and Leukemia
Benjamin never went to college, instead he jumped straight into the workforce as a lube tech at a Faricy Boys mechanics shop. It wasn't much, but it let him get his own place, loan his mother and siblings money, to fall in love. Her name was Theresa, she came from a 'good family', in college to become a nurse and, for some reason, she loved him. It didn't matter that he was one hundred pounds overweight, that he didn't have the best prospects ahead, she cared for him. When he was twenty two, he was rushed to the hospital after passing out at his work station where he was diagnosed with leukemia. He lost his job, he went into medical debt, but she stuck with him. As he lost so much weight he became skin and bones, drove him to his spinal taps, endured the long nights of vomiting from his chemo treatments. Anyone that would stick by someone through this had to be the one. But, he survived, he started going into remission and then she dumped him the day after he got the news. Would have felt bad dumping someone that was going to die, so she had rode it out to see where the coin would fall... If he got better, she could cut and leave with a clean conscience, if he did not, well, she would be 'free' either way. It was almost funny, and all Benjamin could do was laugh and learn the lessons it had given him and ensure he never let anyone do that to him again.

Mid-League Crisis
During his bout with Leukemia, Benjamin had fallen in love with League of Legends. It was his gateway to the outside world, his outlet, his means of distracting himself when he was out of work and feeling like death. He never intended to make anything out of it, but life had a funny way of working out as he climbed into the top twenty of NA Challenger and stayed there. He was scouted and played for various LCS academy teams, paid his due, broke into the LCS scene.. And then the years went on. Between his sponsors and the prize money, Benjamin did very well, could hardly believe this was his life... But he was getting older. Thirty didn't seem old, but for competitive eSports, he was old. He had money saved, money invested, but what was he to do? Start a YouTube channel? He sometimes appeared on various League Youtuber Channels but more as a guest or an assistant to help them get videos on various smurf accounts, and it.. wasn't the same. The panic over his future, or lack there of, of losing what had changed his life gnawed away at him until he came to a decision, he was going to Korea. It would be less money then he got in LCS NA, but he would break into LCK, not only would he break into LCK, he'd take home a world championship... Yes, he was going to pick up and move to the other side of the planet, to a place where he didn't speak the language, a place he knew next to nothing about and never cared to learn about because.. well, what else did he have? ​

Hye is very precise about his hair and spends every morning at least fifteen minutes in the mirror combing it to perfection, he has his good and bad days with his hair but tries his best to hide those by a hat or. . . well, anything. He has dark, curly hair with a lot of volume which makes it a lot more difficult to get in place at times.

Hye is a lot more intelligent than you might first be led on to believe but once you have met him you'll find out, namely because of his ability to shove it down your throat. He doesn't mean to be annoying but he just feels like his way is the only way.

Besides his stubborn personality he does have an enormous soft spot for family. Even though his own family wasn't always the best he strives to make his own, now that he's getting older he does feel like the first step would be to find a girlfriend – as one who wants a family does.
Hye is a dreamy romanticist and that really shows as he will do the cheesiest but also the worst ideas sometimes. As putting himself in those positions makes him quite vulnerable, he is not the one to open up that easily. He never really opens up to anyone; one of the many reasons his past relationships never worked out. Hye does this to keep to himself as he likes having his own secrets and thoughts but also because he feels it saves the peace wherever he is. Maybe that resulted from his childhood where everyone kept to themselves. Although Hye feels he doesn't need to share how he feels, sometimes it would humble him to speak about how he's feeling, maybe even make him feel better afterwards.

Even though he is not one to open up, people do open up to him – he has a cheery, bubbly personality that he brings everywhere he goes. Sure, he doesn't always feel cheery and bubbly but it always seems like he does. It's something he especially does for his neighbor (mei-ling?), as when he comes over he'll always try to make her laugh.

Hye can be a bit selfish as when he feels like it's the right thing to do, he will do it that way and will not care to listen to you trying to tell him otherwise. Living alone has always made that very easy and he has a hard time putting up boundaries for himself – his chaotic nature just goes hand in hand with his impulsiveness. Sometimes he's like a real life bouncing ball, one of the reasons he had a hard time at college – his brain worked perfectly fine but his body just didn't cooperate. Even though he wishes he didn't have this job, it fits him perfectly.

THE THREE MOMENTS
Wrong decision
Hye always felt pressure to do great things with his life, his parents being mainly the cause of that. In high school Hye was never a very popular kid but because of his bright first impression people were drawn to him. Even though at first they seemed to like him once they got to know him it often clashed and you could hear Hye regularly argue through out the hallways.
When Hye got into college to study chemistry his life had only just started, he lived in a housing nearby college with a few other guys and he had lived of his parents paycheck for a good few years. Having the time of his life he only forgot one thing and that was to study. Hye's parents were very disappointed with him and they put him out of the housing, making Hye feel so desperate having to be back at his parents place that he applied for a program where he could become a teacher in less than two years. Hye eventually finished this program and became a teacher at a primary school teaching math. Even though he loved being around those kids he never got over his decision to not finish college. He felt like a failure, not only in his parent's eyes but also in the eyes of society. Going from a bachelor degree of chemistry to being a primary school teacher in math just never seemed right to him even though everyone else tried to tell him otherwise. The first years he was happy he could live on his own but as he got older the decision started to gnaw on him.

Enough room
Hye had always looked a bit different than his sister and says it's because of their grandparents indian roots, he tans way more easily and it was easy to tell the two apart from each other. though they might not look exactly alike Hye held a special place in his heart for his sister. But what made his love for family even more clear was him moving in with not only his sister but also his cousin who he hadn't seen in decades. Hye had enough space in his apartment (if okay of course!!) after a nasty break-up with his former girlfriend who he had dated for over two years, their relationship was toxic and overall very unhappy. The only thing that Hye thought would make it better was to buy her the most expensive wedding ring and hoping she would marry him, he didn't expect the plan to backfire the way it did but not even four hours later she had packed her stuff and left. Hye felt hopeless and spend the next three weeks in his bed, trying to get over not only the humiliation but the rejection. He never even told his parents they broke it off and haven't told them since. He didn't give up on dating just yet but dating with his family living in the same space as him surely didn't make it a lot easier. Having his cousin and sister move in helped him get over it a lot, but the neighbor moving in next door surely didn't make it worse.
