Any Vloggers in My Midst? (Brand Question)

Hello! Some of you know me, and many, many, many do not, mainly because I don't get on the forums very often outside of 1x1 Interest Checks. Just a forewarning... If you aren't in college or pursuing some sort of professional career already, this might not resonate as much... Younger folks: this isn't a challenge against your "maturity level" but that group tends to have a better understanding of professional versus unprofessional, because they're dealing with it already. Well, some college students do. <img alt=" ;) " data-emoticon="" height="20" src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/wink.png" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/wink@2x.png 2x" title=" ;) " width="20" /> So, I am actually brand new at being a "YouTuber." I am so new that I am still using my webcam. For now. For those of you that resonates with... It may mean some, everything or nothing that I tell you that I am an avid viewer of (in no particular order) these YouTubers/channels: - Dodie Clark (doddleoddle) - Evand Edinger (EvanEdinger) - grav3yardgirl (Bunny Meyer) - Tomska - Studio C - So. Many. Others. Recently (actually, several days ago) I posted my first video for my own channel... Now, I'm not perfect at this, and every YouTuber that I respect says it takes loads of practice and lots of bad videos to get better and better at it. However, in my video, I tried to give an idea of what people should look for later in my channel. FYI--- This isn't meant to be a self-advertisement, but rather a bit of background so you guys can maybe answer my question, or at the very least give me some opinions on it? Admins, if you need to remove this, I understand. I'm just turning to others to see what they think. I literally started my channel off with something called: Struggle Bus Cover of Cups & Intro. I started off with a crappy ukulele/vocal cover of the Cup Song, in the style of Pitch Perfect... And after it, I discussed what people should look for in the future. These things were (again, in no particular order) the following: - theatre-related (whoop, whoop... Theatre Minor) - book reviews (fantasy reader) - communication simulations/discussions/etc (I'm a Public Relations Major... It's a branch off Communication... If you're confused, please feel free to ask) - covers (well, that one was obvious) - positive environment - talk about things people think about Things that I MIGHT do but never mentioned: - gaming (discussions, gameplay etc) - skits - fanfiction (writing in general, tips, etc..) - art (sketch artist) THANK YOU FOR BEARING WITH ME, BECAUSE HERE IS MY STRUGGLE: These things... Are a mixture of my professional and personal life. I really love the idea of bringing communication theories to life in a fun way, and having that vlog, laid-back style of a channel... but at the same time, I am about to complete my undergrad at my university, and I need to be really professional. If anyone knows Evan Edinger... He has a Masters Degree and still makes hilarious vlogs. That means it's possible! But with companies and businesses cracking down on personal social media... A little bit about "brand" if you don't know what it means... As someone who is studying Public Relations, your personal brand is everything. What do people see when they look at you, hear your name, and so on? Consistency becomes familiarity, basically. I am so conflicted... I'm not necessarily doing this for followers, but because I have secretly always wanted to do this. WITHOUT FURTHER DELAY, my questions are: 1. Do you think that it is a bad thing to be so... spread out? Bare in mind that I've linked my channel with a Twitter (whatever higher power that exists, help me) and an Instagram right now... I'll be adding a written blog later, perhaps through Tumblr or a different blogging website, so some of this is going to be written... 2. Professional versus nonprofessional... Who here thinks I have something to worry about? I am extremely anxious about this. There is seriously a chance that I will remember a third question that I could've sworn I had in mind... But I can't seem to recall at the moment. Much appreciation for those that have anything to say. I'll be online and offline quite a bit today, but I want to know what others thing about this little... Situation. If anyone needs anything cleared up, just let me know in a comment. I don't mind explaining something. Thank you in advance!
