I have designed this to make Hye-ri go through training and practice with her Astrian. Her first picture indicates that she's been training with Saegasa and is starting on her 2nd tier set. Personality:
An innocent and pure girl turns vengeful and cold for the sake of avenging her clan. Before the attack, she was a really sweet and innocent girl who trained in martial arts to make her clan proud of her. When the attack came, everyone she loved were tortured, raped, and killed. It merely broke her. Once she obtained the demon, Saegasa's abilities, she changed, wanting more power, yearning to be stronger than anyone else. But in the end, she reverted back to her family's ways.

Technique:
Hye-ri merely needs to call out to Saegasa. When the seal stone breaks and Hye-ri becomes Saegasa's true host, she can merely use them freely because they will become one with each other.

Biography:
Hye-ri Sonoma was the daughter of a very honored and respected martial arts clan. She trained so that she can make her clan and her ancestors proud of her and to support the clan name. However, on Hye-ri's 16 birthday, they were attacked by humans who had their Astrians set on laying waste to her clan village. She watched everyone suffer in ways that it broke her merely because she was never ready for real combat nor the harsh reality of the brutality humans were capable of. A small sliver of her will to live, she remembered that she needed to summon an Astrian now or she'll be killed, or far worse. Once she summoned her Astrian upon merely unwrapping and touching the present she was given, the hairpin, she had already summoned her full form and watched as Saegasa ripped through her attackers. However, when everything was finished, Saegasa thought of killing her summoner too so she may be free but Hye-ri sealed her back into the hairpin and contracted her that she will set her free when her revenge was complete, but will ask for her powers in return. Saegasa agrees to this and Hye-ri uses her powers to defeat her enemies. She abandons the Sonoma name because the values of a Sonoma, justice, honor and compassion, suit her no longer. But in time, she will regain these values without even realizing it, because such things will be essential to forming another, more trusting and permanent contract with Saegasa.

Tier 1:
Enhanced Agility/Speed - Further increases Hye-ri's speed and reaction time on top of her mastery of Ninjutsu.
Light Weight - Able to walk, run and stand idly on water. Also able to run and jump through the air.
Phantom Claws - Activated upon motion. Hye-ri merely needs to make a swiping motion that could be considered a claw movement. She can even whip her leg and a claw will appear

Tier 2:
Demonic Energy - An energy that coats around her claws to increase damage and causes the victim to lose stamina. She can also summon this energy in its rawest form in explosive orbs. (This is also where she is starting to learn of her 2nd tier set.)
Lightning - Able to call upon lighting strikes to aid her in attacks or let them burst in barrages. (This will be used after she moves on from her first picture)
Spirit Energy Spears - Creating spears out of spirit energy, she can throw them as projectiles or use them to parry as if they were real spears.

Tier 3:
Fox Fire - Able to call upon scorching flames to incinerate her enemies.
Spirit Wolves - Able to summon spirit wolves at her command, they do whatever it is they are ordered.
Soul Stealing - She is able to steal bits and pieces of a soul through her attacks which is then converted into energy for her. The more she gets, the stronger she becomes.

Tier 4:
Saegasa - Saegasa can use all her abilities in her true form. She also has her full extent of specter powers which allows her to regenerate any injuries she sustains.
Hye-ri - However Saegasa cannot bestow any powers while in her true form, Hye-ri can still perform slightly hindered martial art attacks and agile movement because of the development of her muscles and muscle memory in her time with Saegasa and her possessions.

Saegasa will possess Hye-ri's body from time to time, mainly used to steal souls so this is easily acquired during combat. She can also possess her body for other reasons...

Host's Right Eye:
A mark to signify Saegasa's presence and in a way, has branded Hye-ri.

Life Essences:
Saegasa feeds off the essences of humans, but she wishes not to feed off her host. She prefers it to be from a stranger. She can obtain this by either orally, Soul Stealing or through sex. Sex allows her to have the most richest and rawest form of life essence, but Saegasa will not exploit her host's body in such a way. Preferably, Soul Stealing is what is used more frequently.

Astrian item appearance is the spear Hye-ri wields. It changes form to fit Hye-ri's style of fighting, but remains as a spear.

Personality:
Solaria: Solaria is the exact opposite. Solaria only really cares about herself, doing what she wants when she wants. She craves destruction and for the world to burn, finding those who want to protect the world and find peace disgusting. Though she looks down on pretty much everyone other than herself, you can gain her respect by proving yourself in battle. If there's one thing that Solaria can respect, its someone's fighting ability. She can be ruthless and brutal as well as manipulative and cunning, definitely not a force you want to cross paths with, especially on one of her bad days. With a short temper, its not difficult to piss her off. Above all else, she just wants to see the destruction of humanity, wanting to just watch the world burn.

Lumina: On the other hand, Lumina is the complete opposite. She's shy, almost afraid of everyone. She doesn't really know much of the world or is familiar with anything, so she can get pretty easily overwhelmed. Though, unlike Solaria, she can be extremely kind, going out of her way to help people. She doesn't like to impose on others if she doesn't have to, feeling guilty if people go out of their way to do things for her. She has no idea what it means to be an Astrian or what she's capable of, so she surprises herself with her abilities more often than not. She wants to help humanity as much as she can, not liking that there would be other people or Astrians that would want to destroy it.

Technique:
To summon Lumina: Burn a piece of paper with her contract symbol on it.
To summon Solaria: Burn or brand her contract symbol into something living.

Biography:
Phoenixes were one of the first races in the world. They were born from the first flames, the protectors of the fires of the world. This was knowledge only really known by them, as Astrian history wasn't documented all that well. However, you wouldn't normally see phoenixes around very often. They preferred to keep to themselves, mainly only showing themselves when they were needed. When they would show up, it was usually followed by a grand display of power, and would disappear soon after. Being one of the most powerful, and most mysterious races, rumors about them spread like, appropriately enough, wildfire. It sparked some other races to ask questions and start to hunt them down, not accepting how silent and disconnected from the world they were. The phoenixes managed to keep to secrecy despite this, not wanting to engage in the world unless the world needed them. They were aware of their powers, and were almost afraid of the world wanting to use or manipulate them for their own purposes. Eventually, a young phoenix was born, a phoenix by the name of Solaria. She was a bright young child with a penchant for getting in trouble, but reluctantly resigned herself to the rules that she grew to despite. Soon Solaria grew old enough to form opinions of her own. She was sick of the way that her race acted, believing that they were powerful enough to exist within the public and not be ruled. She believed the other races to be inherently inferior to the phoenixes, and that it was time to show that to the world. By this time, the world was already starting to be engulfed in the Great Astrian War, so she used this as the perfect opportunity to unleash the full force of her and her race's powers. Solaria was ruthless, reveling in watching everyone burn and die. The war brought out the worst in her personality, and eventually she devolved into wanting to watch the world burn, regardless of who was in it. This included members of her own race, who occasionally would get caught in the crossfire of her blazing attacks. Her depravity and destruction only seemed to grow, and it seemed like there would be nothing that could stop her, until an Astrian by the name of Ayen came along. His attacks were able to match her own, much to her annoyance. It was impressive that she actually had a match in battle, and only fueled her desire to watch him burn. Their battle raged on intensely, scorching and terraforming the continent that the Great Astrian War was taking place on. The two fought fiercely, only ending when both dealt mortal wounds to each other in a final, decisive blow. This blow took out any other Astrians that might have remained fighting, even killing the ones that were too close With this mortal wound, Lumina fell, falling into a deep sleep in a cave formed admist the rubble underneath the middle of the battlefield, which was now a completely barren desert wasteland. Ayen fell as well, though before he did he made sure to embed his bident into the ground and seal Solaria within so long as the bident stood. The seal formed an oasis overtime, with the bident standing in the middle Their battle was one of the few that lasted until the end of the war. With the battles of the war coming to a close, soon began the age of their extinction (or so it was thought) and the rise of humanity. Stories of the great battle between Solaria and Ayen were passed down between any Astrians that might have survived, though as time passed those stories turned to myths and legends, and eventually fell into obscurity as humanity began to overtake the world. Though as Solaria remained in the cave, or at least her relic did, a different side of her that slept deep inside began to emerge, a personality named Lumina.

Heat Resist

When used by Lumina: This allows her master to be able to withstand higher-than-normal temperatures, even absorbing some of the heat into themselves. Absorbing the heat restores a bit of energy to the summoner.
When used by Solaria: An added perk of Solaria's version of this ability is on top of being able to resist heat and absorbing it, she can use some of that heat she absorbed against her enemy offensively, either using it to power up her other attacks or releasing against them in a heat wave to stun or distract them.


Sacrifice Powers:
Tier 1:

Spoiler: Basic Fire Manipulation

When used by Lumina / Solaria: This ability grants a Master a basic use of fire manipulation. With this, a summoner can manipulate any flames around them, but cannot create them. What they can do with the flames is limited to simple things (like fireballs for example), as trying to do anything too complex with these flames causes them to dissipate.

Spoiler: Touch of Heat

When used by Lumina: This ability grants the user to be able to touch something and increase the temperature of the surface for a wide variety of needs. This is useful for situations like burning documents, bending metal, or even cauterizing wounds. The temperature of the touch can be adjusted as well.
When used by Solaria: This ability can be used offensively against enemies. If a summoner touches an enemy while this ability is active, it can both leave burns and ignite flames depending on how hot the touch has been made to be.

Tier 2:

Spoiler: Teleportation

When used by Lumina: This phoenix is unique in the fact that she can teleport. Depending on how much energy is used, the range of the teleportation varies.
When used by Solaria: Her teleportation is the same as when used by Lumina, however an explosion of flames is left at both ends of the teleportation, burning anyone in the immediate vicinity.

Spoiler: Greater Flame Manipulation

When used by Lumina/Solaria: This ability is a more enhanced version of the Tier 1 Basic Fire Manipulation. With this ability, a Master can manipulate fire without the need for pre-existing flames. They can create fire themselves for whatever they may need, and utilize them in more complex ways.

Tier 3:

Spoiler: Flame Armor

When used by Lumina: This ability allows her master to fully encase themselves or an ally in a protective barrier of flames. For encasing allies, the Master has to hold on to them long enough for the flame armor to coat their body. It is mainly a defensive move, protecting the body inside, though it can cause damage if an enemy tries to touch the outside of the flame armor for too long.
When used by Solaria: Solaria's version of the ability is used purely offensively. If her Master physically touches someone else, she can begin to encase that enemy in a wrap of flames that will immediately begin to spread across their body and burn them. If the Master can hold on for long enough, the flames will encase the enemy entirely.

Spoiler: Phoenix Wings

When used by Lumina: This ability grants her master the use of her wings. They look like normal phoenix wings, feathers and all, sprouting from a small amount of non-hot flame resting on the Master's back. These wings can be used for a wide variety of things including flying or creating gusts of air. This ability has a time limit of an hour, during which the Master can turn this ability on and off as many times as they like. After that, it takes a full 24 hours before being able to use the ability again.
When used by Solaria: Just like with Lumina, this ability grants a master the use of her wings. However, Solaria's version of the wings are a bit more flame-like and intangible. The flames of these wings can burn anyone who isn't the summoner.

Spoiler: Phoenix Tears

When used by Lumina: Phoenix tears, in their purest form, can heal wounds. This ability manifests itself as a raincloud that rains down tears to heal her allies. This raincloud spans a 15x15 foot radius around the summoner.
When used by Solaria: When her phoenix tears get corrupted, they cease to contain their normal healing properties. Instead, the raincloud rains down burning rain, burning anyone who is caught in it or touches the puddles afterward.

Tier 4:

Spoiler: Life for a Life

When a phoenix dies, they turn into a pile of ash and reincarnate. This attribute manifests itself into her ultimate ability, Life for a Life.

When used by Lumina: This ability can resurrect a dead person back to life.
When used by Solaria: This ability can cause someone to instantly die.

However, using this ability puts the current personality on indefinite standby. For example, if Life for a Life is used by Lumina, Solaria will emerge and be the sole personality that is available, and vice versa. However, both personalities are returned when she is summoned by a new Master.

Sacrifices:
Tier 1:
For Lumina: Lumina's doesn't like to impose on others, so all that she requires for her sacrifices is a chant. Tier 1's chant is simple: "Dona mihi ignis" (Grant me your fire)
For Solaria: Solaria loves to see things burn. Burn something in her name and you can use her Tier 1 abilities.

Tier 2:
For Lumina: Lumina's Tier 2 sacrifice is a longer chant: "E novo nati sunt ab flammae" - (Born anew from the flames)
For Solaria: It's not enough to just see anything burn. For the summoner to use her Tier 2 abilities, they have to burn something important to them.

Tier 3:
For Lumina: Her Tier 3 sacrifice is a more complicated chant: "Oritur ex cinere phoenicis natum flammis rursus redire" - (From ashes the phoenix rises, born from flames to return to them once more)
For Solaria: If a summoner wants to use her Tier 3 abilities, the summoner must burn a part of themselves. There are 2 ways to do this, to burn either their body or soul. Usually Solaria leaves this up to the summoner, but occasionally she only gives one option. For the body, the summoner must leave a sizable 2nd or 3rd degree burn anywhere on their body. If they can withstand that, they're worthy of using the abilities. For the soul, the summoner must absorb a special flame provided by Solaria that burns away a bit of their soul. The more of a soul thats burned away, the less of themselves that they are, eventually turning them into the exact opposite of the person and the personality that they are.

Tier 4:
Nothing can be gained without first giving something in return. Her ultimate ability is named to accurately reflect that statement. The name, "Life for a life", refers to its sacrifice - if a summoner wants to use it to either resurrect or take away a life, they must give their life in return. For a summoner, this is the ultimate price.

You would think that someone being born in the era of humans versus astrians that summoners would lay down their lives in a second for the sake of humanity, but not Kaname. He's far from a role model or a leader as he can be selfish-- playing the good or the bad guy as long as he can profit from either. Perhaps an anti-hero would be the most suitable way to describe Kaname; he doesn't care for his bad behaviours or attitudes and his motivations to fight usually centre around self-interest and self-preservation. However, he does help the vulnerable from time to time- whether asked, begged or even voluntarily. All in all, Kaname is a bad ass ball of contradictions, violent when angered, won't deliberately kill for no reason, and can be helpful from time to time. [/div]

Technique: For Kaname to summon Sorok, he has to draw a line on both his forearms with human blood. Then call Sorok's name as he brings his palms together to make a loud clap.[/div]

Kaname had a typical family on the outskirts of the capital city. They weren't weren't well off, they didn't own some famous local shop, they weren't special-- but his parents will tell you otherwise. Like every nearly every other teen his age, he also had a sweetheart called Liz. In fact, he grew up with her and he believed that they will live happily ever after, with a house of their own and their 3 children that they planned after marriage. On his 16th birthday, the town called him to try summoning an astrian. He knew of them, but thankfully never seen or crossed paths with one in all of his 16 years. He managed to summon and control its' powers. Proud, he went back bragging to his parents and his girl. Life was great, but of course, it just couldn't play out like that all the time. On Liz's time of age, the town also asked her to do the same; and she did manage to summon one..... but she couldn't control it. It ended up devouring her whole. Guilt, rage and depression held Kaname for a long time. He pushed everyone he knew out of his heart and life; and decided that he was done with the town he and Liz grew up in, the place had too many memories and was too painful to keep staying when she wasn't there.

Two years past and he's had several contracts with astrians come and go, living his life the way he pleases and never attaching to a place or a person for long. He constantly trains his body so he never runs out of strength or stamina whenever he needs it- at least as far as humanly possible. He doesn't want to let any other astrian take its' summoners ever again and hopes that they will all rot in hell.[/div]

Powers or Zariel are summoned via crushing his astrian amulet in Elanils hand or under her foot

Biography:
Zariel is a very dark creature. Being a shade of course means a lot of things. Beings born from the darkness and evil of the world from the instant he was born he's fed off the fears of humans as all shades do. A cold and vicious cycle of destroying lives to feed on fear. Shades have been known throughout history for causing the worst times of turmoil and terror in the human world and feeding off every ounce of fear that comes with it. Whats so special about them though is they are clever, very clever. Never actually doing the killing they are like the puppeteers and the humans are there puppets. Manipulators and evil beings. Its said they are even feared by all other Astrians, Seen as the darkest and most deadly of all of them. And it show's why that is said in the sacrifices

in addition to all the above abilities Zariel has the inate ability to manipulate the fears of his enemies. Able to look into there minds and see there darkest fears and then bring them to life in one of two forms, one being a physical being, this ability is used when the victims worst fear is something physical or a being in which Zariel becomes said being or uses shadows to make a physical copy of the feat. Two being a hyper realistic hallucination which is used when there worst fear is a scenario or event for example if the victims worst fear is being helpless as they watch there loved ones die. That scenario will be what the victim sees.

Sacrifices need for a summoner to use an Astrian power:
Tier 1: Tier 1 sacrifice calls for the summoner to relinquish the ability to have good dreams for a week at least. Giving her only nightmares

Tier 2: Tier 2 sacrifice removes a part of the soul specifically the aspects that lead to kind hearts and gentleness. Slowly turning the summoner cold and cruel with enough uses

Tier 3: Tier 3 bring about the loss of a friend. The summoner must ruin a relationship weather it be a friend ship or romantic relationship in a way to bring the friend or lover to hate the summoner.

Tier 4 sacrifice: A sacrifice bred in pain and misery. being unique in the sense that the summoner can make 1 of two sacrifices to bring about the tier 4. Either the summoner must relinquish there sanity entirely. Or sacrifice the life of someone they hold very dear to there heart aka like a sibling, mother father, lover, child

Viana is a very strong willed independent girl. Very smart along with being very beautiful comes with its perks to say the least. She's over all a sweet and kind girl. Never going out of her way to hurt someone though if you do bring her to hurting you you will be sorry. She can hold grudges to say the least and is hard to please. Other than that Viana's bringing up taught her how to be prim, proper, elegant, and be a true Lady. On the inside though there are many insecurities swarming Viana's mind. Is she beautiful enough, does this person like me? Am i good enough to be friend's with this person? These and many others flood her mind but is never shown. Viana grew up in a tough home. Her father being a general in the military and her mother being a successful business woman and royalty in a different country. With this background Viana had a lot to live up to which she gladly did. Her father driving home a hard sense of needing to complete everything 150% with every last ounce of effort you have and her mother teaching her the finer points of business, how to act like Royalty, and be a politician. With these tools Viana excelled in life. Knowing she was to be successful her father taught her from a young age how to defend her self. making her a very fit and able bodied combatant if she where to ever be attacked

Other than that Anna is seen as a child at heart. Always hyper, wanting to do something, have fun. Biography:
Anna grew up a rather normal life. Living in an average house hold and going to school in a small town in the mountains. It was a nice life, that is until her 10th birthday. Mysteriously a fire had set ablaze her home. Taking both her parents with it and leaving her alone in the world. Days later Anna was given to her grandmother in the city. The change was very drastic and was hard on Anna. Cutting her off from others she stuck to a bland routine of going to school, helping her grandmother with her flower shop. and repeat. Over time though the scars of her parents death started to heal and she slowly grew back her fun loving child at heart self.

The Mngwa (a.k.a. the Nunda) is a gigantic cat, about the same size as that of a small horse. It sports a dark black coat of fur and either green or yellow eyes. They are extremely rare and are said to lurk in Tanzania. They are known for their ferocity along with the ability to go on killing sprees and disappear without a trace. Based on a popular myth about a sultan's cat who killed and ate chickens, moving to donkeys and eventually humans as it grew.

Sorok was once worshipped as a beast of untamed wildness and spirit. She was adopted by many local villages as a deity. They eventually constructed temples in her name, though her favored one was deep in a cave system over a waterfall. When the fall of the great Astrians began, Sorok sealed herself away in the depths of the temple. She then left her relic, a small dagger with a crystal blade, hidden in a block of stone, only attainable through a series of grueling tasks. The dagger is the key to entering her temple and acquiring the years of knowledge and power she had accumulated from varying priests.

Her true form is a huge panther with long tufts on the eartips. She is surrounded by a glowing greenish golden light, which her race form does not have.

Personality:
Sorok is a puzzle. Her general demeanor does not fit with parts of her nature and appearance. When calm and unthreatened, she is laid back, often not speaking or giving any notice of her presence. When she or her bonded summoner are in danger, she becomes extremely focused, not taking a single moment to divert her attention. She is greedy and selfish, almost like a dragon, and holds a stash of enchanted gold and riches in an unknown cave. In some ways she reflects the personality of a regular housecat. Although gigantic, she loves to be brushed and often cleans herself until her dark mottled pelt gleams. If in an amicable mood, Sorok will allow her summoner to ride on her back, right behind her powerful shoulders. Do not try to play fetch with her, for she will most likely rip your arms off.

Biography:
Almost like the myth went, Sorok was first a small alley cat living on the streets. Always struggling to find her next meal, she was a slip of a thing. Relying mostly on her cunning and wit to get food, she was the scourge of most fish and butcher shops. A group of teenage kids would often track her down and set up traps for the cat, which most times she evaded. Eventually, she was found and taken in at a menagerie. Little did she know, the keeper of the exhibition was a spellcaster who used illusions to create attractions. Ironically, Sorok was draped in a glamour of a huge panther with midnight black fur. When the menagerie's secret was discovered, the spellcaster let go of his magic. It imbued Sorok with power.

She grew. For the first time in her life, Sorok was not scraping for food in the deep alleys. Fearlessly stealing fish and chickens, she reveled in the power of her newly grown limbs. Her size was not the only change. Her fur grew longer, as well as slowly turning darker and darker. Her once pale grey coat was an inky black. Eventually, Sorok was too big to stay in a town. She left, slinking quietly into the woods to begin a new life. Whenever she got hungry, she would track down a village and snag a goat or sheep. One village in particular learned of her existence, and in order to prevent more attacks from the large night black panther, would sacrifice creatures to her. Most of them were geese and ducks caught by the hunters, speckled with the odd cow or ox. Until she was summoned by Kaname, she had been alone. Sentenced to a solitary life.

Contracted power-
A parallel to telepathy, she can give her summoner the ability to hear others' secrets. The summoner can choose to block them out or use them all.

Tier 1:
Heightened senses: The summoner can hear, smell, and see for longer distances and at a better degree.
Night Vision: Summoner can see well in the dark, although not perfectly.

Tier 2:
Physical Growth: Summoner grows at least four inches, and along with that obtains greater strength.
Healing: Infection is put at a lower risk, non life-threatening wounds heal quicker. (ex: small burns heal within a day and leave no marks)
Foreknowledge: Sorok can see the immediate future, relaying the information and/or directions straight to the Summoner through a telepathic link. (Only if summoner is in a dire situation, ex: assassination plots or about to be stabbed in the back.)

Tier 3:
Oblivion: Sorok allows her summoner to channel energy and destroy an object with a simple touch. (Warning: The bigger the object, the bigger the sacrifice.)
Calling: She can draw cats of any kind to her and bond them to her summoner in a large bodyguard force.
As One: Sorok can meld her summoner's mind to hers, creating a fluid being with no clear boundaries between either entity. They essentially become one, even though there are two bodies.

Tier 4:
Astral Claw: Sorok appears in her true form, wielding ghostly white claws that can slice through almost anything. With a big enough sacrifice, she can summon a giant claw that can decimate a small building.

Elanil is ruthless, and when somebody crosses her she will not hesitate to gain vengeance.

Biography:
Elanil was born in the large city of Ur'Laeg. Her father was a kind man who worked as a tailor. Her mother was graceful and intelligent, working as a Diplomat between city relations. When Elanil came of age, her mother began teaching her the Diplomat ways, giving her mock training excersizes and such. Elanil grew to be a pretty girl, with many suitors that she readily turned down.
When Elanil was sixteen, she met Mortigh, athe captain of the city watch. Mortigh taught her to defend herself in secret, as in her travels she would need protection. When her parents discovered the training, they were not pleased. Elanil was confined to her home, unable to step foot outside. In a foolish rage, she snuck out one night, and under the cover of darkness, left Ur'Laeg.

In regards to the war between humans and astrians, and war in general, Jaden is as green as they come. He is very naive and trusting of others and is easily manipulated because of it. He is very humble and will always try to deflect any praise given towards him onto someone else, although this can be attributed to his low self esteem due to his upbringing. Still being green he can get very emotional when others are in danger and will make the decision he thinks is the best with no thought of the consequences, although strangely he will insist that others don't rush in recklessly if he appears to be on trouble.

In order to access Mika's skills Jaden must draw the shape of a sword in the air, be it with his fingers or some other method, and then draw their contract symbol to solidify the sword. Once done he must slice through the drawn symbols to access her power.

Biography:
Jaden was born to a small family of farmers in a small town a couple of miles outside of of Ur'Laeg. He was the youngest of three siblings, all boys, and wasn't particularly skilled in anything. That is not to say that he was incompetent, simply that he was average in everything unlike his older brothers. The oldest of them was highly skilled in woodworking and left to set up a shop in Ur'Laeg when Jaden was seven. His older brother was skilled with a sword and bow and left to join the guard in Ur'Laeg as well. This left just Jaden, his parents and his grandfather on the farm alone. As he aged he never became skilled in anything and was constantly compared to his older brothers whenever he had any shortcomings. This lead to him developing a very low self-esteem which continued to fall the older he got.

It wasn't until Jaden turned 16 that his grandfather had come to him while he was out in the fields. He told Jaden of summoners and that one could emerge as one when they were 16. Wide eyed at the prospect of being able to do something that neither of his brothers could he eagerly asked his grandfather how they could test if he was a summoner. His grandfather explained that they would preform the test at nighttime as to keep it a secret to his parents in the case that he had failed. So it was that when the house was silent Jaden and his grandfather left and preformed the test in an empty field. Much to Jaden's delight and suprise he was able to summon an astrian, albeit a very weak one. His self-confidence boosted tenfold he revealed his newfound ability to his parents and declared that he would travel across the land and make a name for himself. His parents tried to talk him out of it but he ignored them and set off on his journey.
