Sometimes I do wish I was not born to be a queen.

Long May

f0c6fcb676b5f74457c4021e7abbeb80.jpg
Mai'vryn's parents died when she was only eight years old. They were traveling to Atos to meet with King Teasen'athem when they were ambushed by Aridian bandits just outside of The Gate. Mai'vryn learned from her parents to always put the kingdom before yourself so she kept the mourning brief and focused her energy into ruling the kingdom.

As soon as she took the throne, there was opposition to her reign. People in no status to speak out against royalty traveled to Londoress to publicly denounce her. It looked as if there would be rebellion and the kingdom would turn to turmoil. Her advisers begged her to give up her throne to a distant relative. But, she had none.

The only alternative was to give he kingdom to their ally: Mïrarl. Her advisors were uncertain about the decision to do so but certain that it would calm the population, if only slightly. But Mai'vryn refused. She spoke of unity in difficult times and the importance of maintaining balance. She called upon Tirasea to settle her people and return the kingdom to its natural balance.

Despite continuous opposition, Mai'vryn proved time and time again that she was far more capable than she was give credit for. She met all threats to the kingdom with poise and reserve and she didn't shy from facing a challenge on her own when no one else could. Now, she is widely respected and arguably one of the best, if not the best, ruler of Raeyllis.

She Reign

daenerys-season-4.jpg
Mai'vryn was always a generous and compassionate child. It was a trait that her parents fostered and encouraged. When her parents died, she channeled her grief into becoming a ruler that she know her parents would be proud of. She always turned the other cheek and, even when the Raeyllish people, she never resorted to violence or retaliation because she knew they were grieving, too.

These are characteristics she still emphasizes in her daily life, especially expressing her appreciation for those that have stuck with her throughout everything. But, that's not to say she doesn't have a fierce and righteous side as well. She is far less likely to take kindly to disrespect as she has matured and reached adulthood by Raeyllish terms. She especially dislikes when outsiders talk down to her and treat her as a child.

Because of her lineage, she constantly aims to improve her ability as a fighter. She is knowledgeable in hand-to-hand combat, improvised weaponry, swordsmanship, and archery. When she was coronated, she took a vow to defend her kingdom to her dying breath and she intends to do so well if should the situation arise.

She is also a moderately pious queen, taking part in daily group prayer to Tirasea and journeying to the Tirasea Tree at least once yearly. She believes strongly in the natural balance and that nothing should be wasted if it can be helped.

Despite her maturity, she is still a child at heart and desires adventure and romance. She occasionally considers running from the kingdom for a day ad disappearing the woodwork. Few in the general population have seen her and it would consequently be a viable option to pose as a commoner in any given town. But, she knows the importance of maintaining a queenly image so she often hides her desires.

Jaull Haucruss (Ja-ool) (How-srus)

Title/Occupation: Taverness
The Lonely Griffon is the tavern Jaull's father Ekwaurk owns and operates. The tavern resides near to gates of Waunkur in Pleasure District on Stallion Row and is the only tavern in the village. It is a popular place of commerce, as its drink and good are exceptional. It is a decently large tavern with about twelve large rooms, four of which are constantly occupied. The suite is occupied by Olozur Punnw, a wealthy man with a bad attitude and a drinking problem. The basement room is occupied by Jaull and her father, it is small and houses two beds and a wash basin. The last to occupied rooms are normal rooms taken by Injrok Wersh, a kindly old woman who helps Ekwaurk with the patrons, and Cillon Swauwur, a young boy no one knows much about but pays his rent and that's all Ekwaurk cares about.

Of the many patrons that appear regularly the most notable would be Guard-Captain Gaullin Ssrinf. Gaullin resides in the barracks in the Barracks District on Aster Street and can usually be found in the tavern during the night hours. Gaullin is a heavily tipping patron, even of ge doesn't have the money for it, and Ekwaurk quiet appriciates his contributions. Jaull likes to sit and listen to the mans many stories of skirmishes and criminals, even of the majority of them and fabricated. Gaullin is known as Waunkurs resident storyteller and he wears that title proudly.

The tavern is made of timber aquired from the forests of Mïrarl and is quiet the sturdy structure. It was built by Ekwaurk's late great-grandfather and has been owned by the Haucruss's ever since. The rest of the houses belong to Captain Graama's crew, fisherman, dock workers, a shoemaker, and other rabble of the village.

Current City of Residence: Waunkur, Mïrarl

Goal/Motivation: To leave the village she lives in.

Background:
Jaull was born in the cold of Naugrim on the full moon of the sixteenth day. Her birth was commenced by several bustling housewives and her overly worried father. He, in his tavern clothes and muddy boots from running from house to house to gather the housewives, was pacing nervously in the hallway just outside the room her mother lay in. Ekwaurk was his name, Ekwaurk Haucruss, tavern owner and father to one. Now, hwe father had every reason to be nervous in this matter, as his wife, Losussi, had been terribly sick during her pregnecy and this was a rather early time for her to be having it. Worried about his wife surviving birth he was. The housewives did their best to jeep Losussi alive but, ultimately, they were unable to. Taverness Losussi Haucruss died in child birth.

Ekwaurk was devastated, and due to not wanting the only woman left that he loved to die, he vowed to never let his newly born daughter, who he named Jaull after his own mother, wander too far from him. Ekwaurk established that Jaull would be staying in Waunkur, the Mïrarlian village they resided in, as long as he was living. Jaull didn't mind this at first, of course, the little girl was perfectly content with staying with her father as long as he was there. She often dreamed of becoming a healer for the Temple of Caerphy there in Waunkur so she could take care of her father when she was older. But as she grew, Jaull started dreaming about other things, things that drew her away from Waunker. The promise of grand adventures and missions for the King had her wanting to march her way right out of Waunker and into the vast world beyond. Her father would never approve, of course.

To fill her hunger for adventure, Jaull read, she read whatever she could get from the occasional merchant that passed through Waunker. But, the more she read, the more she found herself wanting to escape. Jaull tried to run away when she was fourteen and again when she was fifteen, but both times she was caught by a guard and dragged back to the dreaded prison that was the tavern. Ekwaurk would scold her and make her clean the lavatories, but she would still dream. Jaull would sit at a table while patrons bustled in and out of the tavern, her nose stuck in a book or her eyes glued to the wall in a far off place. Jaull would dream until her father yelled at her and told her to help serve the patrons, Olozur flicked her ear and demanded some ale, or Injrok told her kindly she better get to work before her father yelled at her.

But, above all, Jaull loved to listen to Gaullin tell his stories. She didn't care of they were made up or not, she loved them. Gaullin's stories were far better than any book she'd ever read and far less strenuous on herself. Besides, unlike with books, her father actually like it when Jaull would look in wife eyed as Gaullin animatedly told his stories. Ekwaurk adored Gaullin, he was his favorite patron and everyone else's favorite friend.

So, Jaull dreamed. And she hasn't stopped dreaming. She'd book it out of this town one day, of that, she was sure.

Personality: Jaull had a general positive outlook toward the world around her. She tajes the dangers and potential evil lurking in the dark at a naive face value. She sees the good in people no matter what they've done to her or others. There is always some good to he found in people. No matter what people my tell her about being naive and thinking everything is just great, Jaull won't change her mind. On the topic of her look on the royalty of Mïrarl, it really depends in how her father feels about them. So, for now, she quiet likes tgw King and is curious about their Prince as he is rarely ever seen outside the castle walls.

Extra:
946d3af5a1295873029d43972f2b688a.jpg Noldo is Jaull's pet hawk. He's a very intelligent bird who hates crowds and strangers. Jaull nursed him back to health after she found him in an alley abandoned by his mother. Noldo has stayed with Jaull ever since and has been a faithful companion to her. Noldo has blue feathers with white and red accents. The feathers around his neck are red and he has a tuft of feathers that stick up on his head and bright yellow eyes.

snow-white-huntsman2_20110724053110.jpg Name: Rubaem Comsrarr (Rubay-eem) (Com-serar)

Title/Occupation: Knight of Raellyis

Age: Twenty-three

Race: Human

Gender: Female

Goal/Motivation: Cure her mother of disease

Birth City: Helene, Raellyis

Current City of Residence: Londoress, Raellyis

Background:
Rubaem was born months early on the twenty-eighth day of Adrian in another's home due to general kindness of thise that resides in that home. Ruby's mother was stricken with Orange Plague from some rotten food. Orange Plague made one numb and they had difficulty breathing, muscle weakness, visual hallucinations, and a thick orange mucus was cough up, hence its name. Her mother was bed ridden until she could be treated and was unable to take care of her newly born little girl. Had it not been for Pondim and Xaima Fleure, simple people in Helene, both Ruby and her mother might've died. Pondim found her laboring mother in the alley outside his house, as she had been searching for food. Perhaps getting food from alleys had been what gave the woman Orange Plague in the first place. Pondim had acted in his kindness, thankfully, and taken the sick, child-bearing woman into his home where his wife was able to safely deliver the child.

Ruby's father had left a long time before this, a drunken craze at heart. He'd left ine night for a drink and Deneria, her mother, had never seen him again. It was all good and well though, because if her father had never left she never would have been raised under the care of Pondim and Xaima and their son, Pondius. Now, the couple that had taken then in was an older couple and they had a son who was much older than Rubaem herself. Pondius was twenty when Ruby was born and the apprentice of a knight. Pondius was like a brother to her and as she grew older he taught her what his master taught him and when she was sixteen and he a knight himself at the ripe old age of thirty-six, she only had to apprentice under him for a few years until she was able to become a knight.

Ruby left Helene when she was twenty-one to be knighted under the young queen. Ruby is constantly searching for healers who could heal her mother as she travels for the kingdom. Back honey in Helene, Pondius and his now wife, Aliem, look over her mother and Pondius's parents died years before that. Ruby's mother had been young when she had Ruby so she was around the same age as Pondius. Healers always held grand promises of miracles but whenever she sent them back to Helene to her brother, Pondius would always send a letter saying they were unsuccessful. Ruby has never stopped searching though, she never would as long as her mother lived in that bed. Deneria was a miracle in herself having stayed alive this long and Ruby was sure there was another miracle out there for them.

Personality: (1+ paragraph about general attitude toward the world and disposition toward their King/Queen)

Vyncent Thamas Teasen’athem
Ryan Guzman.jpg
Title/Occupation: Prince of Mïrarl

Age: 18

Birth City: Atos, Mïrarl

Current City of Residence: Atos, Mïrarl

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Goal/Motivation: To grow in power and respect, in order to be a worthy future King.

Background: Vyncent's mother died whilst giving birth to him, meaning he grew up with only a father figure in his life. There were servants and staff who aided in the child's upbringing, but never enough for him to grow an attachment. With no siblings and only high expectations, he never had friends his own age. Instead, his father had all of his time devoted to studying, worshipping and training in physical combat.

As Vyncent grew older, he took a more active role in ruling the kingdom with his father. However, he has always managed to avoid joining the king on visits outside of the castle, believing he would be unable to live up to his popular father's good name. Whilst his father is naturally friendly and compassionate, Vyncent feels people don't find his own kindness genuine. Instead, he has always remained in the castle maintaining order and enforcing hard work amongst their servants. His strict, overbearing and more detached way of commanding people is mostly the reason for the rumours about him throughout the kingdom.

The king remarried in order for his son to have a mother figure in his life. Vyncent deemed the move completely unnecessary and no doubt an ill-advised attempt to soften his nature. He has always maintained the belief that only the woman who gave birth to him could be labelled his mother, and as that person was dead, he would never call another woman mother. He doesn't trust his stepmother one bit and would love nothing more than to be rid of her. Some would call him paranoid, but he truly believes she is only with his father for wealth and power. When his imagination truly runs wild, he worries she could plot to have him, the king's only heir, killed.

Since coming of age, Vyncent is aware that his father is planning for him to be married. Much to his father's and stepmother's surprise, the prince is open-minded about the idea. Vyncent believes he needs a woman by his side to rule and now that he's eighteen it is to be expected of him. Besides that, the part of him he keeps hidden longs to be close to someone rather than spending his days alone. The king has expressed wishes for his son to marry Queen Mai’vryn Bannighymn of Raeyllis and she is expected to visit Mïrarl to meet him. Again, Vyncent remains open to this idea, but at the same time sceptical about the unknown.

Personality: Vyncent is aware of the rumours about him being selfish, spoiled and arrogant. As such, he acts in an authoritarian, self-important, brutal and intimidating manner around most people, as if to fulfil the public’s expectations and maintain his power. When those layers are stripped away, people who make the effort to get close to him see a more thoughtful man who craves loyalty and love, not just power. He envies his father’s, the king’s, popularity; and does not trust his stepmother at all. Despite his disapproval for his stepmother, he has retained much respect and loyalty towards his father. Vyncent is competitive and is happiest when he is winning. He takes his hobbies, both intellectual advancement and physical combat, very seriously, often preferring to remain in the castle grounds sparring with swords than meeting with the public.

Vyncent has a less conventional relationship with religion. As a future king, he knows he must practice and be seen to follow Caerphy, their goddess. He makes sure to pray daily and abide by the teachings, but he often worries his heart and mind are not completely devoted. Regardless, he usually has little time to question his own beliefs as the castle's strict clergyman is relentless with his preaching.

Ellyn Slatewind
red-riding-hood-movie-image-amanda-seyfried-10.jpg
Title/Occupation: Maidservant for the King and Queen Arabilylth

Age: 20

Birth City: Londe, Ellon

Current City of Residence: Undah, Ellon

Race: Human

Gender: Female

Goal/Motivation: To marry a nobleman... and live happily ever after

Background: Despite hiding it well with her positive personality, Ellyn didn't have the best start in life. Her unwed parents were thieves and fraudsters who were always moving around to avoid being caught. They hadn't planned to have a child, so Ellyn was a burden to them and before the girl was even two years old, they left her in a blanket on the doorstep of a wealthy noble family. In a tiny moment of guilt, the child's father had slipped in a piece of paper with only the girl's name written on it. To this day, knowing her name has always been enough for Ellyn and she has never had a desire to find the parents who abandoned her.

The Embergrove family decided to keep Ellyn so when she was a little older she could be their own unpaid servant. As soon as she was old enough to understand orders, Ellyn spent her time doing chores for all of the family, including all but one of their spoiled children. It was only Ava, their middle daughter, who was kind to Ellyn and would secretly teach the girl to read and write. As the servant got older, her duties became harder and punishment for failure more severe. She would be starved and beaten for making the smallest of mistakes. Eventually, she stopped making mistakes and worked until her body ached. When she was 12 years old, the Embergroves decided they didn't need Ellyn anymore. As they believed they had worked hard in creating such a good servant, they would not release her without a reward. They sold Ellyn to the King and Queen Arabilylth, receiving extra payment as the girl could read and write.

Ellyn started working for the royals as just another servant, but she was happier in her new workplace. She had peers she could relate to and didn't fear being physically punished if she made a slight mistake. As the years went on, her hard work was recognised and rewarded, until she eventually became one of the king and queens personal maidservants. Ellyn's commitment to her work meant the royals were nice to her and sometimes even rewarded her extra for her good work.

She is happy with her life, but spending so much time in the castle means she has served many noblemen and developed an unrealistic belief that she will one day marry a gentleman herself. All she has to do is be noticed enough to capture their heart, or at least their eyes.

Personality: Ellyn is a dreamer and always tries to find good in everything or everyone. She enjoys serving the king and queen but at the same time longs to fall in love and marry a nobleman, just like in a fairy tale. She is loyal, kind-hearted and can often be quite naive, which sometimes leads to others taking advantage of her. She takes her duties very seriously and gets upset if she disappoints anyone. Where the king and queen are concerned, Ellyn loves and respects Ellon's rulers, so doesn't like to hear a bad word said about them.

lz3yChI.jpg
Name: Merrik Vavyndiil

Title/Occupation: Hedge Knight

Age: 25

Birth City: Kasa, Raeyllis

Current City of Residence:
Undah, Ellon

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Goal/Motivation: To weasel, slash and sleep his way to knighthood.

Background: Merrik is the son of a shoemaker, one of the thousands of insignificant near-serfs throughout Alundor. His father's whole purpose in life revolved around feet. Actually, not even feet... it was what people stepped on. That image was exactly how Merrik felt growing up. Carrying a low estimation of himself, he would roam the streets wondering, "Is this as good as it gets?"

Then one sunny afternoon he smuggled his way into Kasa's tiltyard, which was used for the famous jousts. There were dozens just like it throughout Alundor. From the cheap seats, he watched a man as plain-looking as a bale of hay mount his horse to thunderous applause. Never before had Merrik seen or heard so many people chanting someone's name. Not only that, but the victor was granted a boon. The gift could be almost anything depending on the stage. Coin, land, titles, decrees. In Londoress, a champion once asked for a princess' hand in marriage.

So from that day on, he knew, a man could change his stars. All he needed was a reliable sword and a trusty steed. He would find a way to become a true, proper knight. Whether that required a great deal of killing, he did not know. Perhaps the gods would be lenient. They were known to grant a few ambitious souls an opportunity to shine.

Unfortunately, that opportunity didn't arrive on its own. Besides being of "questionable" birth, he knew little about knighthood. Most boys seeking favor became court pages at the age of seven. He plead with anyone and everyone who even looked like a knight. He failed, of course. No amount of begging, promising and smooth-talking could change that. They either smelled the peasantry or trusted him as they would a town jester. No one would take him as their squire.

At the age of seventeen, he decided to venture out on his own. He frequented taverns and found lying to his benefit. Every once in awhile he'd meet a troubled merchant looking for a few "hired hands". Sometimes the work proved harmless... others not so much. Just as a soldier learns to obey, Merrik experienced a darker side to earning a living. It kept him awake at night with only questions. Did the crofter deserve a beating? Why set these houses ablaze? What did they do to deserve this?

The answers were nowhere in sight. Several years passed by, and eventually he just let the coin do the talking. It bought him a sword, and a horse... just as he originally aimed to procure. At what cost, he no longer cared. Now it was only a matter of how far he could climb. What is chivalry in a world such as this? All I want is more.

Personality: Merrik might have grown to be a respectable person, maybe even a good one. But changing one's stars requires extreme choices. Choices that turn boys into men, and men into monsters. Not to say that Merrik is evil. He simply lacks compassion where others would develop a moral conscience. The more conflicted decisions of thievery, extortion and vengeance appear attractive to the would-be knight. Kindness, on the other hand, typically takes a back seat.

If asked to do something, he expects something in return. Otherwise, he will laugh at you. He might even threaten to ruin your day just for wasting his time. On the other hand, if it benefits him, he will put his body in harm's way to protect someone. In this respect he is like a mercenary, and for all intents and purposes, he is one. However, any accusation of being a sellsword will be met with denial. He is insistent on rising in status, which means hiding behind his so-called "knighthood".

Magical specialty:

King Vander Heasiraheal III is the first Heasiraheal to be completely without magic. His father possessed an ever so faint ability to hear shadows whisper secrets. General:

When King Heasiraheal first assumed the throne it appeared as though he would be a perfect reflection of his father. Ensuring the Crown and it's loyal Nobility held all of the power, wealth and influence leaving the rest of Arid to fend for itself. Recently, however, the King's disposition has changed. He has recognized that the true power rests only with his Nobility and that the Crown is merely a symbol. They own the land and all of its armies. Too much power spread far too thin and with too much control resting in the hands of too many. With the recent death of the King and Queen of Raeyllis, King Heasiraheal has grown quite paranoid. Even he is surprised at how the death of foreign monarchs has affected him so. Without knowing the identities of the perpetrators, King Heasiraheal cannot be sure if this was an assassination planned by his Nobles without his knowledge. Was he even in control of his country any more? He was no longer certain, but he planned to take control once again.

Goals:

With the rise of the King's recent paranoia came a series of changes in the country of Arid. Many of these changes unwelcome amongst many of his Nobles. Indeed, while he still sustains support from the majority of his Nobles, King Vander Heasiraheal III has record low Nobility approval. This knowledge fuels King Vander's distrust for them even more.
While his true intentions remain unclear, the King's goal for the past three years has appeared to be strengthening Arid's weak economy and bolstering the Aradian Navy, along with the Private Royal Guard. The King's personal Dark Elven servants has also been spied wrangling and capturing many of the countries Lavender Griffins and transporting them inside castle walls. The Lavender Griffin is a wild flying beast native to Arid. While the King's overall intentions remain unclear, these appear to be his priorities as of this time.

Malia Jeyne Covenshield
nppp (1).png
Title/Occupation: Lady - (Daughter of the Duke of Mithlonde)

Age: 25

Birth City: Ereriast, Arid

Current City of Residence: Mithlonde, Arid

Race: Human

Gender: Female

Goal/Motivation: To be free from her controlling father and shallow mother.

Background:
Malia grew up with strict parents and four older brothers. Her family tried to make her behave ladylike and submissive, which Malia fought against from the moment she learned how to talk. She would favour outdoor activities and studies, rather than being primed to become someone's wife. Nothing changed as she entered adulthood. She continued to fight her family's desires and seek out adventures.

Malia believes she should be able to protect herself and if she does marry a man, they should be equals. When she manages to sneak out, she loves to explore the woods and meet people her family wouldn't associate with. Nobles are interesting to a point, but none of them ever seemed to spark her interest. She has made friends with a group of commoners who teach her to fight and use weapons. Regardless, she knows that unless she manages to escape Arid, she will be married off to a nobleman whether she likes him or not.

Her father has tried on numerous occasions to marry his daughter off, but every time, Malia manages to sabotage things enough for the prospective husband to reject the proposal. Malia knows she can only continue to postpone the inevitable for so long and she does worry that she could end up with a more determined, controlling man who will take her despite her protestations. Her father has at times contemplated just marrying her off to any man who will take her, but he cares too much about his own reputation for Malia to marry anyone other than a nobleman.

Untitled (1).pngkk.PNG Personality: Malia is free-spirited, independent and strong-willed, all attributes that go against her father's visions. She has tried on a number of occasions to conform and behave in a ladylike manner, but always grows bored and sneaks away to wander the forests seeking adventure. She isn't very good at following rules if she disagrees with them, which often leads to being punished by her strict parents. When she manages to sneak out of their family estate, she prefers to spend time with some of her "commoner" friends, where she practices shooting a bow & arrow and wielding a sword. She believes in helping those less fortunate than herself.

Malia isn't sure how she feels about their Dark Elf king, Vander Heasiraheal. Her father, being the egotistical control freak he is, is full of criticism about the king's ability as a ruler. Never one to agree with her father and also unsure about the king, Malia remains indifferent to him. Despite being the duke's daughter, she'd happily leave their kingdom, the Land of Thieves, in a heartbeat.

Name: Kazlan Anvirixli

Title/Occupation: Fallen Priest

Age: 67

Birth City: Allon, Mïrarl

Current City of Residence: Saphrespa, Nimrasea

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Goal/Motivation: To redeem himself in the eyes of Eoddun.

Background: Kazlan was born in the small and insignificant city of Allon... save for its relatively convenient geographic position. Anyone with a map could tell you that. It served as the perfect stepping stone between the Tirasea Gate and Ellon's capital city, and also tempting was the prospect of travel to Atos without navigating the Baburh Rift.

Allon's populace could be described as simple, yet god-fearing. Religious devotees varied from sect to sect, but most were Henothists in this part of the world. The hands of a few minor deities took a back seat in commoners' lives with greater emphasis on a single god. Of particular note was their instilled faith in prophets. There had been dozens over the centuries which carried down through oral tradition, although seldom did anyone discover the presence of one in recent memory.

Approximately thirty-five years ago, the Ellonians began recording the life and times of a particular resident by the name of Mazlan. Little is known of the man prior to this date. However, this marked a crucial moment in public consciousness where events previously unexplained were now deemed holy acts from Eoddun himself.

These great miracles included the "Sheep Spring" which saw the birth of a thousand lambs from just one hundred mothers. Then there was that whole incident with Lady Quiyra of Erlonde. She sought out the wise Mazlan for "personal guidance" in a matter virtually all knew to be her lack of fertility, which lasted eight years without a birth. Not three months later, she was heavy with child. It was all happening in their time, and the commonfolk believed.

Oh, did they believe... until one fateful morning not two summers past. An emergency held Erlonde's full attention, as Lady Quiyra experienced labor pains. The baby was not expected for another three months, but that in and of itself raised little suspicion. After all, stranger things had happened in Eoddun's earthly kingdom which were all deemed apart of his master plan.

Quite the opposite occurred in the lady's household. Eoddun's master plan panned out to be the spawn of wickedness. The child arrived bloodied and malformed, and Lady Quiyra succumbed to the pains of her labor. She died not long afterwards in a shocking turn of events. The household's first instinct was to strike Mazlan down with sword or axe, ignoring rule of law. What they shortly remembered was that the law in this case went far above the temporal realm. If for nothing else, he was spared.

The clergy arrived at the scene of Lady Quiyra's deathbed and concurred. "This is a sign from Eoddun. A great omen. Mazlan of Allon, you must leave the city at once and never return." And so he did. For the next two years he ventured south. When he reached the sea, he chartered a vessel and kept going until the furthest reaches of Alundor... in search of what? In hopes of enlightenment? Forgiveness? That would forever be between Mazlan and his creator.

Personality: Despite his advancing age, he behaves youthfully and can be a wee prickly. He takes pleasure in life's simplicities, especially anything having to do with nature. He has gained new energy from the faith. However, there is a sense of unease in his physical behavior. As if bearing a substantial weight on his shoulders, even Mazlan cannot completely hide his past. He spends the remainder of his days dedicated to prayer and contemplation. Eventually, he believes, he will find forgiveness... or forgiveness will find him.

Gery Willowcrest

Luke-Evans-Hobbit.jpg
Title/Occupation: Carpenter and Roofer

Age: 38

Birth City: Nosea, Nimrasea

Current City of Residence: Nosea, Nimrasea

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Goal/Motivation: To protect his village from the tormentors of the nearby town

Background: Gery has lived in the same village, Wrenlow, in Nosea, since her was born. His father was a carpenter who taught him everything he knows about building. Gery's parents both died due to illness when he was only 18, leaving him their home where he lived alone for a few years. He lived a modest life as a humble carpenter in a small friendly village.

When a young lady named Keira moved to the small village with her family, Grey was instantly attracted to her. After helping fix the family's roof, he asked Keira over for dinner and the pair immediately hit it off. Within a few months, they both married and invited all of the residents of the close-knit village to the ceremony. Ten years ago, Keira gave birth to their only son, Ewin. Life was pretty perfect for Gery and he couldn't have asked for anything more.

Over the last few years, thieves and brutes have populated the neighbouring village, Sagewood. For the last two years, gangs have been coming to Wrenlow demanding goods and money from the weak residents of the village. Those who have refused or tried to fight have been publicly beaten, or worse. Over time, the villagers of Wrenlow have been knocked into submission and learned to comply with the demands of the savages.

Gery's inability to stand up to them caused arguments with Keira, who left him last year and took Ewin with her. She told him she would only return to him when he stopped being a coward and their tormentors had been driven out. Since then, Gery has been working on his physical strength and trying to practice wielding a sword. Last month, he travelled to the heart of Nosea to plead with Lord Omarson to provide the village with aid and protection. When the Lord denied his request, Gery soon learned the nobleman was taking a cut from the gangs and profiting from their crimes.

Gery has since tried to recruit villagers to fight back with him, but only a handful have dared to agree. He has also contemplated visiting the king and queen themselves to plead for their assistance. All he knows for sure is that he wants to prove to his son that he isn't a coward and to free his village from the fear they're living in.

Personality: Gery is a humble man who likes the small things in life, like peace and happiness. He is caring and friendly to those who are kind in return. He enjoys helping others and loves his job. Despite being a tall and well-built man, he is more of a gentle-giant. However, he does worry that the village's tormentors are pushing him towards lashing out and showing the violence he's capable of. He loves his son and is determined to win his back. However, he feels he can't forgive Keira for giving him such a difficult ultimatum rather than standing by him. He is loyal to Wrenlow and could never leave his friends to suffer alone.

Gery is generally positive towards King and Queen Dwin’elrvis. Should he ever manage to be granted permission to make a plea to them, he hopes they will show mercy on Wrenlow and punish those who have caused so much suffering.

Name: Ari'arsi'aruhi'a "Aria" Fasri'ahur

Occupation: Tavern Wench Aspiring Scholar

Age: 19

Birth City: Biniyah, Nimrasea

Current City of Residence: Sephrespa, Nimrasea

Race: Elf

Gender: Female

Goal/Motivation: To pen her own scholarly work

Background: She, a seventh daughter of a successful wine-seller and his home-maker wife, was born into relative privilege, gaining access to an education that few of her older siblings received. It was hoped that she would eventually rise above her station through marriage to one of Biniyah's noble scions, taking her family up the social ladder. However, Aria had a different thought. Education turned out to be the truest tool of empowerment; it raised Aria into a world far greater than the confines of her gilded cage. Where she once was naive, she now was wise. It opened her eyes and made her see the world for what it was - a reality much too marred by a structure that left her with such distaste.

Yet she could not find it in her to rebel; she conformed, she came of age, she had her match made. Then a fire ignited within her. Her match was the young, handsome son of the small House Erphsuhr, who turned out to not only be charming but also possess a sharp wit that captivated her. She was enthralled, as was he with her - a perfect union of emotions and intellect. Much was given and exchanged; for Aria, her youthful innocence in exchange for a further intellectual elevation that she would not have otherwise obtained in her school. It would have been a completed exchange until the patriarch of House Erphsuhr found a far better match in a fellow House.

No amount of rebellion, protesting or attempted eloping could break this new match. Eventually, he faltered to his family's wishes while she left Biniyah quietly, only a hastily written letter penned to her parents before she made for the capital, Sephrespa, with a travelling band of performers. For a time she danced with the performers before she found stable employment in the "Honey Pot", a small, languishing tavern in the slums of the big city. How she would find successful penmanship was anyone's guess by that point, but she continues to hold on to her dreams in the big city.

Personality: Both amiable and charming, her education gifted her with an ability to hold conversation on topics far more varied than the average wench. She is also a lot more observant and critical than the average person, being at times insightful and at times outright clever. However, her experiences had darkened her outlook on the world at large, often inclining her to a propensity for sharp, biting sarcasm and a sort of practicality that could sometimes be characterised as cold and calculating.

She generally respects the King and Queen Dwin’elrvis as a stabilizing presence in the political structure but nothing much else - she would certainly not fight to the death to protect the royalty, that's for sure.

Background:
latest

Ayrenn was born the 3rd child of a minor lordly house in the kingdom of Mïrarl. Since her older siblings were both boys, her father's line would continue uninterrupted. With her place in his household, her parents began to scheme regarding possible matches. Their lands were mostly farming lands meaning they were doing well in their standing within the kingdom, but as with all nobles the clamour for power continues.

She was given lessons in singing, dancing, sewing. All the requirements of a noble girl to make her a potential bride for any noble son. However it was her grandmothers lessons regarding politics and how to play the game that nobles played that set her apart. She was a quick study and soon enough she knew the ebb and flow of nobility within the kingdom, among her fellow lords as well as the Royal Family.

While she studied diligently, her parents worked on marriages for her as well as her brothers, soon her oldest brother and their father's heir was betrothed to a neighbouring lords daughter. It was around this time she was told she would be visiting the capital, to pay homage to the Royal Family as was tradition.

She would be going to renew the oath of loyalty her family swore once gaining their seat. They were a loyal house as they pledged loyalty more than most houses. So she saw herself and her twin brother packed away into a carriage and sent to the capital to make sure their pledge was made as well as make sure the other nobles did not forget that house Telvanni existed.

Personality:

baroness-kenna-de-poitiers-lady-kenna-reign-38170963-500-468.jpg

Ayrenn is very loyal to her family, standing by them unfailingly. She is a warm, caring individual often being the face of her family's charitable side, helping the people who lived on the lands they governed.
She even once helped a young girl through a harsh labour during a storm that cut through the region.

Despite the sunny disposition, she also has a shrewd mind. She used her political prowess to gain the upperhand on anyone who dared hurt her family.

She has been compared to a rose by those closest to her. She appears and acts like she is soft and gentle, but she has thorns.

She is also known to be free spirited and despite warnings from her father, she has taken part in activities not suitable for a noble girl including, card games with the guards and drinking with her brothers.

She sees the peace in her home and credits this to the royal family so her disposition is general happy regarding the topic of the royals.

Illyrelus Krolla Teasen’athem

open-uri20150422-20810-z1t1g5_2f06e8ea.jpeg

"Ta ko kloud ak da ko nakivkolkdaak."

Title/Occupation: Queen Teasen’athem, Priestess Teasen’athem, Queen Priestess of Mïrarl

Age: Thirty-two

Birth City: Hanur

Current City of Residence: Atos

Race: Human

Gender: Female

Goal/Motivation: To become renowned for her talents, whether it be in the arcane or simply for being a competent Queen.

Background:

Illyrelus grew up in Hanur, daughter to a priest and magic-seller. As she grew in age, her father would often teach her of his religious practices and rituals, hoping to instill in her all the virtues of his Goddess. It was because of him, a young Illy wished to follow in his path at the age of six. Everyday for years to come, she would pray at the nearby shrine and devoted herself to Caerphy. Her father found pride in her piety while her mother saw but a child's naivety.

Illy's mother's, while not as firm a devotee as her husband, did also practice her own faith. Instead of praying to Caerphy she worshipped another; a minor deity known as Isia. The difference in religion was never really an issue for the couple, nor her mother's occupation as a magic-seller. However, at the request of her father, Illyrelus was not allowed to know of her mother's shop until the age of eleven. Once she was, at her mother's bequest she quickly began helping out. This sparked a new interest in the young girl for the practice of magic.

Much like with her religion, she took to the world of the arcane very quickly. Her mother often remarked she was a natural, as she memorized hundreds of recipes for potions, ancient texts, and even a few chants. As she delved deeper into her mother's side of talents, she began to neglect her religious duties and often forgot to visit the shrine for prayers. It soon took a toll on her her father who, as a priest, found the lack of steadfast devotion horrifying. Illy, who recently shared her father's fidelity, soon found his pestering to pay better respects to her god exasperating and cumbersome. Her new disposition on Caerphy had become one of indifference, and she soon stopped worshipping the Goddess altogether, much to the dismay of her father.

While her faith in Caerphy had wavered, Illyrelus did not lose her desire to worship. Instead, she turned to other deities, having gained an intimate knowledge of them all while studying under her mother. This change she kept to herself, praying to and performing rituals for her new gods in secret. She knew her father nor mother would approve of her choices in deities, even with her mother being more open-minded. For years she continued to practice her religion in private, as she studied and worked under her mother in the arcane.

A few years after her coming of age, Illyrelus' father passed. It came as a surprise to Illy and her mother, as he was not particularly old and was of very good health. Despite her grief, the event was also proof of Caerphy's ineffectiveness to Illy. It showed to her that not even her father's pure devotion to Caerphy earned him a long-lived life. The tragedy took a heavier toll on her mother, who began to neglect the shop and withdraw from the world. In turn, Illy had to step up and not only run the shop to ensure income, and out of a selfish desire, but also handle the matters of the estate. They were a noble house, and while that had never meant much to her before, Illyrelus soon learned of what it entailed when she had to take charge of the affairs while her mother grieved.

For five years Illy's mother's health deteriorated, until one night she passed. The town gossiped of how she passed away from grief, unable to live after her husband's death. Illyrelus found little comfort in their indelicate whisperings nor in the magic she so greatly cherished. Instead, out of a misguided sense of duty and guilt, she went into priesthood. The shop was entrusted to the daughter of a family friend who held interest in the arcane, as well. It pained her, but Illy could not shake the sense of guilt she felt; failing both her parents in different ways. Whereas before she found herself only caring for what interested herself, the fresh curse of death caused in her the shame of self-reproach and the hypocritical desire to follow in her father's footsteps.

Years later, her life in order, a thirty year old Illyrelus woke one day to the realization that she had been living a sham. She had earned the title of Priestess as she had set to do, and for a while she had convinced herself that she had found her faith in Caerphy again. But it was all a lie. She had fooled herself into believing she could be the perfect daughter she supposed her parents would be proud of, namely her father, but found she could no longer delude herself. Of course, at such an age she could not simply reverse all she had done to get to where she was; it would be unseemly for the noble daughter of a late priest to simply abandon her duties as a priestess. Not only would it shame the family name, it would also paint her in an unbecoming light to the public. Instead, Illyrelus decided to continue the charade, but while claiming to worship the Goddess Caerphy, she would praise her own deities covertly. For two years she did so, participating in tawdry sacrament for a false god while she returned home to pray to her true deities; Flaezus, Mai, and Kitakri . It was because of her true faith and renewed devotion to her gods that Illyrelus eventually lucked out. Invited to a royal ball for the widowed king looking to find a new wife, of all the women, she was chosen. There could be no greater honor brought to her family name.

Now the current Queen of Miral, Illyrelus has made it a goal to practice the arcane again. Her relationship with her husband is going quite well, and she has no doubts she can play the role of mother to his impertinent son. She continues to practice her faith in private, having much more time to devote now that she no longer has to perform as a priestess. Her goal is to ingratiate herself to not only her new family but the public, as well.

Personality:

Illyrelus is a woman of self-interest. From a young age she has always been more concerned with her own happiness and ensuring that she pursues her interests, even if it is to detriment of others. It is not so much that she is cruel, but more so that she is usually oblivious to the needs of others. She is not oblivious, however, to the fact that her disposition can be perceived as cold and vain to those around her. As an easy solution to better fit in with society, especially as a priestess and now the new queen, Illy has carefully crafted the guise of a nurturing, kind-hearted woman.

While she can usually keep her fabricated persona up, Illyrelus has troubles keeping her tongue in check with the prince. He usually brings out the worst in her, voicing his negative opinions of her with callousness; opinions that Illy has shared of herself since long before he could even lift a sword. As for the king, her true opinions are to be determined. No one outside of her parents have ever treated her with such genuine care as he, which is something Illy has yet to grow accustomed to. He is perhaps the most honest man Illyrelus has ever come across and it sometimes uneases her, as she is apt to believe that people only ever act in self-interest.
