Mason has golden eyes, with snakelike pupils. His hair is a mess of brown curls, contrasting with his ghostly pale skin, which is littered in scars, and fresh wounds, and bruises, from his nearly constant self mutilation.

Often Mason wears either the dark, priest like suit he arrived to Wonderland in, or he is wearing dark, clashing shades of blues, greens, and reds. One way or another, though, he's rarely seen without his signature top hat, and sporting numerous injuries.

Mason is quite mad, as his Wonderlandein name suggests. He is scatter brained, and will often change the topics of conversations in a heart beat to keep up with his racing thoughts. He often uses answerless riddles to distract others, and keep them from addressing the real issues, particularly when they partake to him.


Mason's abilities to see into the past and future were the biggest contributors to his failing mental state. Sometimes ignorance truly is bliss. Sometimes Mason gets so overwhelmed by what he's seeing, and becomes unable to distinguish the lines between the past, present, and future. When he can't tell what's real and what's not anymore, he often tries to ground himself. Many times Mason does this by indulging in self mutilation, occasionally having to be restrained by multiple Wonderlandeins.


Mason scares himself sometimes. Despite all the dark twisted violence of Wonderland, the hatter didn't get his title without going mad first. Mason often sees things when they aren't there. This is incredibly hard to explain to him in a place like Wonderland, where Animals can talk, and cats can disappear. Still he manages to see all manor of dark creatures, including creatures nonexistent to either world. Mason also tends to suffer from flash backs, thanks to long term child abuse.

ADHD
attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, is a medical condition that affects how well someone can sit still, focus, and pay attention. People with ADHD have differences in the parts of their brains that control attention and activity. This means that they may have trouble focusing on some tasks and subjects.

Schizophrenia
a long-term mental disorder of a type involving a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion, and behavior, leading to faulty perception, inappropriate actions and feelings, withdrawal from reality and personal relationships into fantasy and delusion, and a sense of mental fragmentation.

Self Mutilation Disorder
the act of deliberately injuring one's own body. self-mutilation, also referred to as self-harming, self-injury, self-inflicted violence or cutting, is a recognized psychiatric disorder and does not represent an attempt to take one's life.

PTSD
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, is a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of a life-threatening events such as military combat, natural disasters, terrorist incidents, serious accidents, or physical or sexual assault in adult or childhood.

Background:

Mason was born in the outer land to an exceedingly normal family. From a very young age it became apparent he was far from normal. He couldn't sit still, had an excessive amount of imaginary friends, and would often find himself festinated with hats of all kinds.


When Mason was a child, his family blamed him for his oddities, often calling him an attention seeking brat, and beating him into submission. It was this kind of treatment that led to Mason's first bouts of self mutilation, as he felt his family was right, and there was something wrong with him, and that it was his own fault.


When Mason was seven, he was arrested for stealing a hat from a store. It was during this time that it was revealed just how truly mad he was. They sent him to an insane asylum, where he was subjected to horrible forms of 'treatment' for his hyperactive ways, visions, and twisted logic. The most common of these was electric shock therapy, which only succeeded in making him more insane then he was when he went in. Mason was subjected to this torture from the time he went in to the time he found the looking glass to take him to Wonderland (9 years).

While in the asylum, Mason was also subjected to the worst of human nature. The doctors had often abused their power over Mason, subjecting him to physical, verbal, and sexual abuse.


After stealing an outfit from a storage closet in the asylum, and finding his way to Wonderland, his true Muchness (as he calls it) began to emerge. His marvellous madness became somewhat manageable, despite his constant struggles with his visions, and voices.

Masochist

Emilia enjoys being hurt, to a point in which she'll hurt herself just to find her thrill. Nothing appears to be "too much pain" to her, though she has to have a limit. Possibly. At least, nothing that has happened in wonderland seems to qualify as “too much”.

This was considered a mental disorder in the past, and, due to such, it is in her diagnostics.


Hypnophobia

Emilia has a severe fear of sleeping, which tends to cause her to go days on end without sleeping until she passes out from exhaustion. Part of this roots in her PTSD.

Tourettes

Emilia stutters, and her limbs frequently twitch. Occasionally, she’ll repeat the last word of what somebody else says to her.



PTSD

Brought on by the time she spent in the asylum. Things such as people grabbing her wrists or ankles will cause, at the very least, mild anxiety, and at worst she’ll become violent and stop thinking rationally. She has frequent nightmares, as well.

Emilia is an interesting one, that's for certain. A majority of the time, she acts like a reasonable person, though she has a habit of saying extremely odd things, such as talking about how the moon could be a giant eye and how, if it is a giant eye, it's probably voyeuristic.


Past

There isn't much to note from before Emilia was committed into an Asylum because she wasn't attracted to men. Her parents thought that her behavior was strange and they didn't like it, but they also thought that they could manage it, as well as any man they married her off to. The problem came at about the age of fourteen, when they were trying to find her an appropriate suitor- They were kind enough to search for somebody she would like, but when they couldn't find someone she liked and she admitted that she was more attracted to women, they decided that there actually was something wrong with their child, and sent her to the closest asylum for conversion therapy.


There, Emilia went through all sorts of shit they thought could "cure" her homosexuality. Seeing homoerotic imagery and having some sort of pain administered, occasionally they would try psychoanalization, and quite a few of the male doctors forced themself on her as a way of proving that "men could please her in a much better way than a woman ever could" as well as "women are supposed to be there to pleasure men, not other women". All they ever really achieved was traumatizing her and making her averse to any form of a relationship, and one damaged her left eye beyond use by accident.

She had hit the age of sixteen when they concluded that they weren't going to achieve anything with her, and decided that they should lobotomize her as a sort of "last resort" of a cure. Before they could manage to do this, she found a looking glass and took a tumble through it, ending up in wonderland. During her fall, her body was mutated to the point that she felt like her body hardly looked the same- Her hair turning red, her vision coming back in her left eye, the right turning red, growing cat ears and a tail, her teeth sharpening, and her arms changing to the point that they don't look human anymore- and, for some reason, she loved these changes. No longer did she look like the person her parents had given up and the doctors used and abused. She was someone new.


Since her tumble into wonderland, she's become a predator.

Shadow Claw

If scratched by Emilia's claws, a wound will fester and putrify, which is deadly unless treated


Healing Saliva

Her saliva has mild healing properties, and is one of the cures to her shadow claws.


Removable eyes

Like in the movie, her eyes can be removed and put back in. It still hurts to remove them, but she can see out of them if you put them back in. Kind of useless, really.


Always lands on her feet

She's a cat, yo. She always lands on her feet.


Stronger than she looks

Despite her small appearance, Emilia is strong enough to carry a fully grown man into battle. They can't ride her, but she could certainly put them on her shoulders and easily be able to carry them like that.
