Eleanora is by far one of the more..insane people in the world. Her mental state is so unstable you will never truly know if you are talking to the real Eleanora or if it might be one of her many other personalities. This instability does not mix well with her Multiple Personality Disorder or Bipolar tendencies. Being the way she is, her peronality can tend to flip flop almost every hour, and most of the time it's in a decent way. However, it is this flip flopping that also has caused Eleanora to have to be isolated from everyone.. as her manic changes can also be for the worst..and when they go bad..it is best everyone leave her be or suffer the immense punishment. They have found that the only way to calm her during these times is to sedate her or completely isolate her until she is done being manic. 


On the good side of things, Eleanora is one of the most animated people you will ever meet. Because of this, most people who first met her usually disbelieve that she's crazy or even lives up to her title of  Mad Inventor. The woman comes off rather..odd and outlandish..as if she's not truly from Aetheria or really any place near by but one undiscovered because of how odd she is. Despite this the woman is rather friendly, or.. in a sense if you can get past her remarks and wit. Along with this, when most people meet her, they don't realize that Eleanora is famous, but they do get the sense that she's extremely intelligent, as she is.


Along with being..well the way she is, Eleanora is strong-willed and stubborn to her very core. Once she in invested in something, even if it's crazy, you can't talk her out of it; that's that way she's always been and will continue to be. 


All over Eleanora is a wonderful woman; she just has some serious mental problems. She's by far one of the smartest people you'll ever meet along with being so down to Earth you'd think she was a second class citizen. She'd actually prefer if you treated her that way too. Modest as she may seem, Eleanora is proud of her inventions, but thinks nothing of her social status.


History:


Eleanora grew up in the time before Ether. She was around when Aetheria was only just beginning to mess with it. Fro a young age, her parent could tell Eleanora was smart, smarter than most children her age. She surpassed everyone in her class, made excellent grades, and eve skipped a few grades. However, there was a flaw in her intelligence..Eleanora was..different. She could change in the blink of an eye. Often she would go from being a normal happy child to being angry. This very quickly became an issue, as Eleanora would get into physical fights at school or worse. Thus causing her to have to be removed from school and isolated, she had to be helped..somehow. 


After years of trying to find a way to combat Eleanora's mental instability, her parents finally found the answer. Tinkering. She loved to build things, make them move, or make weapons (strange for a teen huh?). At first none of her inventions were all that complex, but as she tinkered away Eleanora began to make much more intricate things. She soon came to realize that out of everything she could make, she was best at making weapons..and thanks to that..the Gun was born. Eleanora earned her fame 7 years ago by creating a gun that ran on Ether rather than gunpowder. The invention was revolutionary, as this helped many people realize the potential of Ether and what it would possibly be manipulated into doing.


With Eleanora's fame came the resurface of her mental instability, which caused her to have to leave her job as a High Mago. She was unable to work with others after only 2 years of doing it. The demand and need for people to understand her usage of it driver her mad, making her episodes occur often, she once even stabbed her partner. It was then that she earned her title of Mad Inventor. Around this time, it did not help that her parents died. The death of her parents left her empty and hollow, it which only added to what problems she already had. Two years after several the High Magos, Eleanora had to quit. She retired to a clock tower in the golden city, Cerina, and has spent most of her days there inventing weapons for herself, and for the war. There she is isolated, and though her episodes are still bad, Eleanora is free to invent as she pleases, hoping one day her fame would fade away and she could become a second class citizen like she once was she was little.

Having served the majority of his life in an Aetherian infantry unit, Houser is a very decisive man. Decisions need to be made, and they need to be made quickly. Stagnation leads to death, and as he firmly believes, a bad decision is better then no decision. This can lead him to be hasty at times, and he cannot stand the idea of just standing around and 'discussing options'. He sees it as an incredible waste of time. A clear, concise, line of command should be quickly formed rather then form some kind of pathetic excuse of a 'democratic' system. As one would expect, he is quite the authoritarian. Those that lead, should lead, those that follow, should follow. He doesn't see a lot of gray area in this.   Not that he doesn't mind the occasional opinion from those he respects, however, all need to respect the simple chain of command and follow orders. Without order there is chaos, and Houser does not abide chaos in his ranks. 


Despite his authoritative nature, Houser is a natural optimist. Despite everything he has seen, he generally believes in the good in the average person or situation. He is always the last one to give up, and will cling to the faint rays of hope until there is absolutely nothing left. This natural optimism is often refreshing for most as his hope and light tends to be a spark that will rekindle a fire or keep it going. This does let him fight on longer, and harder, then most, however it also makes him rather naive. He will always take someone at their word, believing that their personal honor or natural goodness will come through, and will only stop taking them at their word after multiple failures to do so. This does mean it is rather easy to lie or deceive him as, sadly, his belief in the better part of humanity doesn't always work. When his trust is shattered, he doesn't get enraged, instead he feels disappointment in them, and as his men and women under his command will say, they would rather him have screamed and hollered.


As a soldier, Houser is incredibly blunt. He says what comes to his mind or what needs to be said. He doesn't pretty it up or select words that are less likely to hurt people's feelings. He is honest, straight forward, and sometimes, hurtful, although rarely intentionally does he want to hurt someone else. This blunt honesty does help with his desire to get actions done quicker as there is less prancing about with it, but at the same time, he can be incredibly abrasive and his nature often makes just as much enemies as friends which is fine with him, however, it does come back to bite him once in awhile especially as many superiors do not enjoy when their underlings tell them when they are wrong and do so matter of factly and in front of their sycophants. 


Almost a force of nature, once Houser sets out to do something, it is nearly impossible to stop him. He will keep trying until his body gives out as his spirit never will. This determination is both a blessing and a weakness as while he is willing to pushing himself until he has nothing left, most people aren't, and he simple doesn't understand that. If he can do something, he has trouble understanding why others cannot. This can often leave those with him to the point of exhaustion and he won't notice until they collapse as if they start to complain about it, he will simply tell them to suck it up and double time it. This determination can easily breach into obsession as he has an almost compulsion to complete his task or objectives and he can become so lost in his actions that he loses all sense of time or of the physical conditions of those around him in favor of doing what he has set out to do. 


Once he sets out to do something, or worse, is lost in an obsession, he is impossible to talk out of his course of action as his pride makes it very difficult for him to admit when he is wrong or even consider that he is on the wrong side of a debate. To say he is as stubborn as a mule would be a vast understatement. While this does make him somewhat of a perfectionist due to his desire to be the best at anything he attempts to do, it does tend to make him react badly once he does find out he was wrong or he is unable to do something.

Mk. VII 'Furnace' Armor


Experimental armor, the Furnace Armor is an extremely heavy set of armor made usable because of the intense and powerful ether generator on the back. This generator powers the suit allowing it to move with the user increasing their strength and greatly reducing the encumberment of the armor. Of course, being experimental, it has more then its fair of issues, it requires constant maintenance and upkeep else the armor will start to break down or malfunction, considering their is a highly volatile generator on his back, that is very, very bad. The generator produces a lot of heat, and will produce more the more active he is or if it takes any damage, as such, all the heat has to be vented on a regular basis either through a port on the generator or through the inferno pistol. 


Ether Rifle


An ether-cartridge fed rifle that is standard issue to the 42nd. 


Inferno Pistol


The inferno pistol is a powerful experimental weapon that is tied to his Furnace Armor. Its hose ties back to the large Ether generator and when the trigger is pulled it vents all the heat from the furnace armor in a torrent of intense heat to incinerate everything before him. This is also very useful in venting the heat during combat as the Furnace armor will quickly build up heat and if not released, it can bake him alive.


Regimental Sword


The mastercrafted arming sword is a sign of his rank and office given to him on the day he became a lieutenant in the 42nd Regiment. The blade has seen a lot of use, unlike most of the ceremonial regimental swords in use, and is pitted and scarred from various conflicts. When the 42nd was rechristened, he was offered a new blade but rejected it.

Rather witty. When excited about something, he normally tends to babble almost incoherently, speaking so quick that it is hard for people to piece together what it all means.


He enjoys fiddling with scraps of metal plating, and other small shiny objects. Although it agitates him when he is set back in his work, he always finishes projects he has been working on, and is often pleased with the outcome.


Wick has always looked up to the Mago's, aspiring to become even better an inventor than they are. He always works to find different creations and to make something that would get him noticed for the brilliant minded little scamp he is.


History:


Wick had always had an incredible talent for building small things. He would go out into the city and gather scraps and spare parts from off the streets, then coming home to recreate them into something; sometimes turning out better than what they were originally intended for. He was brilliant in school, aiming to be the best possible. In most of his classes, he scored higher than the other students, and if he failed at all, he simply pushed himself to do better the next time. The Mago's were one of Wick's favorite parts of living in the city. They were some of the most incredible and intelligent inventors that lived in the city, and perhaps, even the world. They were seen as nearly equal to gods in his eyes, creating some of the most useful inventions and tools for the city to use; to improve with. One day, a higher Mago known as Eleanora Quinn discovered something that would change the world forever. Once the city became renowned for it's usage of the substance known as; "Ether", Wick saw it as an opportunity to do even better. He simply needed to get his hands on some of the valuable element.


Before Wick could finish planning anything however, there was a shooting. He was only 10, when someone had gone mad, killing both his father, and mother, along with several other people; all using Ether to power their gun. Wick would not allow himself to be sent to one of those schools where they kept orphaned children. He would not let go his freedom to create and explore. They would never let him build anything there, more likely they would consider doing so to be dangerous, and unhealthy for the other children; but Wick didn't want to be healthy, he didn't care to be safe, he just wanted to live. On the streets proved to be difficult, but not nearly as much as it could have been for most. Most of Wick's time was already spent on it, searching for scraps, his skin becoming caked in oil and grease. He needed to survive, and the only way he saw that happening was to break the law.


Breaking into smaller shops and stores, Wick became much better at picking locks, sneaking in, and sneaking out before anyone could catch him. Unbeknownst to the people of Aetheria, Wick set up a small workshop inside a bunker hidden behind a car lot. It had been abandoned for years and years, and all it took was some cleaning up, and it was good as new. It already had a workbench set up in a corner, where he could place his scraps, and a stone outcrop in another corner, where he set up some ragged blankets and cloth. His inventions became more advanced than even he could have expected. He learned knew ways to build different contraptions, and managed to create his first gun, a rifle that he called; "Vision". Another few inventions arose, including a small pistol of sorts, which could charge off electricity, and send a pulse of concentrated energy at any foe around. This pulse was capable of deafening, and momentarily blinding those afflicted by it. Another invention was created from Wick's desire to fly, similar to the airships. It was understood that the Mago's had already invented the jetpack, which allowed for short or even long duration of mildly difficult to control flight, but as usual, Wick wanted to do better than this. He studied the way birds flew, using libraries to read up on avian biology. He created the first set of equiptable wings. Though they were metallic, they were light, and thin which allowed for gliding. When combined with a jet, it worked to let Wick burst into the air, and fly good distances.


At 16, he had it good for a man stuck on the streets. He had a semi home, his inventions, a crap load of spare metal; including a small collection of Ether samples, and one time when he was out gliding over the city, he caught word that someone had deemed him; "Sparrow". He was ecstatic to hear his very own alias, and was suddenly eager to create more inventions; but this time, he went too far. It was the dead of night, and he was definitely going to take this as a chance to sneak back into one of the workshops he had stolen from for so long. Back then, the owner had become aware of his thieving, and had taken precautions, but since Wick hadn't even thought about entering in years, he figured he could get away with some more. It turned out he wasn't the only clever, unrecognized inventor in the area. Ever since the past break-ins, the owner had set up a sort of security system on the door, taking a rather barbaric approach, back even to the Middle Ages; a guillotine. Once the door was opened, it sprung the trap, taking Wick's right arm without slowing it's fall. He barely managed to survive, wrapping it in oil-stained cloth and rushing the best he could to get back to his bunker. He stopped the bleeding, patched it up as much as possible, and learned his lesson. It took an entire year to figure out how to fix it. He couldn't leave the bunker frequently. The owner had clearly seen his arm, and was on the look out. There was no doubt that he had everyone around keeping watch for a man without an arm.


He invented something, this time, without the aid of the cities libraries. An arm, made of the finest metal from his petty collection. He made the fingertips sharp, and using some of the Ether he had remaining, it worked to connect the arm with his muscles, providing him with the abilities any normal arm would have, and more. At this point the relationship with Aetheria and other cities for miles around, was becoming tense. Some of the other cities feared the Ether that Aetheria wielded, others wanted it for their own, and the remaining, let jealousy take over, and simply wanted nothing more than for Aetheria to burn. This is where Wick's story begins.

Hates thunderstorms, since he doesn't enjoy getting wet, hates the loud thunder, and cannot fly up with the lightning, as he would be equivalent to a living lightning rod


Has no money for anything, and basically must resort to stealing to survive

History:


Maverick was once a colonel of the Epharim when he was 22. As one of such young age, he constantly needed to both prove himself and maintain his honor. However lets track backwards to his younger years. Maverick was born to a high born Military family. 10 generations of war generals ran though his family line. His upbringing was very strict training in the art of war since the age of five. Of course he had a secret admiration...for inventing. It was something no one in his family aspired to do before, which is one reason he pursued it. Maverick never loved his father causing him to be somewhat rebellious in whatever ways he could find. However at the age of 15 Maverick was sent off into his first battle. It was here he witnessed his first real combat. No one knows what really spawned it, but a sudden savagery emerged inside him. reports showed all enemy combatants were brutally slaughtered even when they surrendered. This was cause for concern, however one of the senior generals saw a unique spark in him. Maverick was hand picked to shadow General Dominic Marinara aka The butcher. Over the next 2 years maverick learned from his mentor in the more... cruel sides of war. His mentor gave him a insight into new ideas for inventions. He would go on to create a new type of weapon a high caliber revolver capable of penetrating, and inflicting great ballistic damage. However its use was not so widely excepted. His mentor was found to use it in grotesque demonstrations of inhuman torture. In any event this led to Maverick being exiled from Epharim. Thus begins his life in Aetheria. Life was not easy in the beginning, having to earn new found respect and reputation. Starting off with a small business Maverick Aided in producing Ether encasing. This is where he discovered how to create the first iterations of Ether/black powder brass bullets. This also lead to His discovery of a unique reaction producing a electromagnetic pulse. This would lead to one of his greatest breakthroughs leading to his ascendance to higher status. Maverick was able to generate sufficient energy using ether contained in a electromagnetic field. The process is hidden after, that but the result is a new generation of power plants. This lead to Maverick constructing large electromagnetic power plants across Atheria.

Armour is made of a compound recently discovered by Maverick. Its composition is unknown, but strangely incredibly resistant to most  forms of ballistics or physical weapons.
