Likes: Adel is a natural tinkerer who is often found dismantling "scrap" Manoeuvring Gear or even fiddling with Thunder Spears and other explosives, he is quite capable of working for a few days straight as long as he stays fed as well as talking the ears off of anyone who goes near him and may not even notice them leaving or falling asleep. When separated from his wrench Adel is a surprisingly good cook or "culinary engineer" though he will ignore any objections to including meat.
Dislikes: Adel hates being interrupted when he's working whether he is mucking around or on legitimate duties. He is slightly squeamish around blood, he's not going to pass out or runaway but it does ratchet up his stress levels. When it comes to Titans he naturally loathes them for eating people but he also objects to them on a baser level, he considers their vacant expressions and twisted bodies a repulsive mockery of humanity and that as more than enough reason eliminate them or at least all the mindless ones.
Personality: An alternately laid-back and enthusiastic person Adel will do what he can to avoid "grunt work" and formal functions but obsesses over mechanical tasks. When speaking to other people he turns into a complete motormouth and punctuates his speech with elaborate hand gestures. To his own annoyance Adel is a sap for doing people favours at his own expense especially if it gives him a chance to tune up their gear. Bureaucracy and politics in general are met with irritation which very quickly descends into open disdain leading to his lack of ambition to rise high enough through the ranks to a position that would put him in too many political situations or increase his paperwork load.
History: Descendant of the prodigy weapon-smith Angel Aaltonen, the man behind the invention of the Manoeuvring Gear and the first to kill a Titan with by directly striking it's weak point Adel grew up in the Factory City surrounded by weapons and equipment that were still being made that same way they had been nearly a century ago. Inspired to come up with new innovations Adel joined the military in search of inspiration
Motivation: If Adel can find a way to reliably make a Titan's head explode from half a kilometer away he will consider his life complete.
Quirks: Adel makes terrible puns out of habit, regardless of any death threats he receives or objects thrown at him. Coughs a lot due to growing up in the Factory City.
Vices: Adel doesn't take many things seriously, unless someone has been or is in the process of being eaten or crushed he will laugh off stress or responsibility.
Extra: Paranoid enough about Titan blood to wear goggles in battle.
