No, it's not the typical alcohol/drug abuse rehab. Actually, the rehabilitation part of the name is just a cover. Clinic of Mutants would cause some alarm.
Ackermann's facility is one of the few places mutants can be themselves, whether they live there or are sent their by families. Typically it's the latter, but soon the place becomes more of a home than anything. Most of the time they stay and try to help the young mutants.
