Lurking Pun Ninja
This roleplay will be taking place in the town of Nettle, Idaho. A very simple town, not known for much, the town is actually the site in which the man died of old age all those years ago. Many of the stores are Family Owned and only a few places are big industries. Here are a list of important places within the town, that may help with setting the scene and building your character.
Newman's Childcare
Run by the Newman Family, Geoffrey Newman, 69, and his wife, Jessica Newman, age 65, their business is known for being one of the best in the business when it comes to childcare. Since the elder couple are not able to have children of their own because of Jessica being sterile, they cherish children and have worked their entire lives to make sure that the ones in the community would not be oppressed or abused. Most of the residents of Nettle have either been under their care at some point or are currently under their care. The officially provide services for children 12 and below, but unofficially, they care for all young adults up to 16. when needed to.
Grand Theater
Run by Jon Hefferson, age 45, the Grand Theater is the only theater in the town of Nettle, and holds summer camps dedicated to making movies, and putting on plays. A kind man, Jon is very determined and can be stern with people who do not show him respect. Jon is considerate of people around him, and does not actively seek to harm people.
The Archin Bar
The Archin Bar is run by Mark Archin, age 22, the son of the original owner George Archin. A stark difference to George's kindness, Mark is cynical and very depressed at the state of himself. He hates the bar, and every conversation you have with him, if given enough time, he will bring up his dreams to move out and do something with his life. However, the bar is his only source of income and it does not pay enough for him to move out any time soon.
Finnel's Pound
Owned by the Finnel Family, Jenny Finnel, age 49, and her daughter Andrea Finnel, age 27, are the main runners of the Pound, both of them certified Veterinarians, while the Father, George Finnel, age 50, is the one who does the background work, such as paying for new things, receiving checks, and overall running the business portion.
Nettle School System
The Nettle School System is divided into two buildings and systems, run by separate staff. They are divided by the School's Football Stadium, which is used as the location for most of the school's other sports, including Cheerleading, Soccer, Track, etc.
-Elementary Level
Accepting Children from grades Kindergarten to 5th Grade, this section of the School System is run by the Principal, Mrs.Jensen, age 39. Having been the principal for more than 5 years, Mrs.Gensin is experienced with children and knows how get them to do things. Very kind, her patience is extreme, and her sense of honesty and justice truly make her one of the best Principals Nettle has ever seen.
-Middle and High School Level
Accepting Children from grades 6th and up to 12th, this section of the School System is run by the Principal, Mr.Ferris, age 45. Very recent to the whole Principal thing, Mr.Ferris was originally a drill sergeant in the army and has a hard time adapting to the less intense atmosphere of school. A harsh disciplinarian, Mr.Ferris does not like lolly gagging, and only includes extracurricular activities because he has too. He respects authority, and fancies Mrs.Jensen.
Tanner's Hardware
Run by Tanner Oakley, age 28, this Hardware store is the main source of goods when it comes to construction and receives a hearty income from those who wish to get into the Construction business when they start out in his area. Fair prices and a kind heart, Tanner enjoys money and is easily tempted by it. He hopes to one day have his own family, and raise them to be the best they can be.
Golden Pawns
Run by Mr. Pendle, age 56, many wonder how he is able to keep it open with his frivolous nature, and many place that on his son, Arnold Pendle, 24, who spends most of his day running the shop while Mr. Pendle spends his time at The Archin Bar, where he drinks his money away. The father and son having a very strong bond, many wonder how this is possible even when they have differing personalities, Mr. Pendle with his silliness, and Arnold with his serious outlook on life.
Frawlmart
Run by Leroy Heiner, age 31, the store is bordering on copyright, but Leroy doesn't care. Obnoxious and Greedy, Leroy will do anything for money and likes to be the center of attention, even if the attention is of the bad variety. Willing to do anything to make his store bigger, Leroy hates kids, and dislikes it when parents bring the little snot-nose rats into his store. His opinion on teenagers isn't much better, seeing them as future junkies and finding everything about them as suspicious and criminal.
Saint Veronica's Orphanage
The only orphanage in the town of Nettle, Saint Veronica is apart of a chain of Orphanages that focus on the parentless children of cities of low population. Low in admission, the Orphanages get by, by using the funds donated to the larger Orphanages that are placed in more profitable areas. Saint Veronica's has also had a history of getting funds from past Orphans who lived there, who went on to make money and generously donate it back to the cause. The Nettle region's runned by Sister Mary, age 64, a very kind woman, who is rather good friends with the Newmans. She loves kids, and is a sucker for sad movies and stories.
Tin Can Factory
Abandoned twenty years ago, the Tin Can Factory used to be the town's main source of income, and its eventual bankruptcy threw the town into unbalance, leaving some scrounging for any jobs, even some in other cities. However, the town was saved when a group of entrepreneurs came and opened up some shops and invested in others. It all turned out well, and the town was saved. The Tin Can Factory is now being used as the main warehouse and base of operations for Antiq. Corp's for their "investigation" into the town.
Lovely Clothes Naturale`
One of the few stores in Nettle that sell clothes, Lovely Clothes Naturale` is run by Mrs. Alberta Hartley, age 50. With her rotund figure, and her warm personality, she does not fit the usual stereotype for a clothes shop owner, but her expertise with the latest style fits the bill and her clothes are always top of the line, sometimes her tastes conforming to the trends, but keeping to her all around homey feel. She does go off on tirades, though, if she sees someone who is she deems is "wasting their physical potential" with unappealing clothes. She sometimes talks of a few "restraining orders" from old customers, but otherwise, she is very pleasant and very patient.
