Futuristic A Vampire's Tendencies (CLOSED)

MalumMalice_

sad sappy kitty
Name: Rose Vanguard
Age: 341, appears to be 18-19
Gender: Female
Race: Vampire

Personality: This travesty against her own people has changed Rose for the worst. She used to be a very sweet, charming girl who got along with everyone- she had many friends in high school that she attended before the humans took over, and was actually pretty popular. Rose was friendly and kind hearted, but over the course of a year, her heart became cold and uncaring. The nice, bright young woman transformed into someone who was quiet, antisocial, and depressed. She no longer cared about anyone or anything, and now lives her life keeping to herself. Rose is sarcastic and negative, and feels very angry at the humans for what happened, even though it was the result of her own kind’s stupid mistakes.

Bio: Before the incident, Rose used to be a cheery, wonderful, and high-spirited girl. She attended the local high school, and was even a part of the varsity cheerleading squad, having many friends and people who adored her. Junior year, she even ran for school president, but unfortunately lost against an opponent to a rival by just a few votes. Her grades were some of the highest in her class, and she had gotten several offers from nearby universities. The point is, Rose was popular and loved, and nobody knew her secret: that she was a vampire. There were only a few other like her in the school, but she didn’t really interact with them much on account of their social status. They weren’t really a part of the “it crowd”. Rose wasn’t a snob, she just didn’t see the importance at the time of keeping your family close. Her close friends didn’t even know what she truly was, and she hid the secret well.

Then one night, everything turned to shit. On September 5th, 2036, Rose was ripped away from her parents in her suburban home by police and government officials, and dragged away to never see them again. She was thrown into a cell with other vampires, strangers she’d never seen before. Rose tried to figure out what was going on- a couple of her own had ideas, but most had no clue as to why they were there. It wasn’t long before news got around that a cult of vampires had started murdering humans, and were soon figured out. Apparently it had been going on for months, but nobody could find any of the perpetrators until now, and the one they had found, they tortured until he spilled information about every vampire he knew of, including the Vanguards. He was killed immediately after by having a wooden stake shoved through his heart.

Over the next year, a system for checking for this race of murderous people became known, and a worldwide census was in demand. Of course, the vampire to human ratio was about a 1 to 100, so they were easily overthrown. Vampires were sold as slaves to the humans, and were supplied a developed serum to inject once a month to “sedate” them and cure their hunger. Rose has lived the past year in cells and slave markets, her heart further turning to stone with every passing day. She hasn’t heard from her parents since the night she was taken, and she wasn’t even sure if they were alive or not. Now she waits to be bought, living a miserable life that her kind was doomed to partake in.

Name: Dorian Wulfric
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Race:Human

Personality: A rather charismatic young man, Dorian is clearly a product of his families wealth. However, his charm and empathetic nature appear to defeat the stereotype of the spoiled only child of the Wulfric family. Intelligent and humble, Dorian devotes most of his time to the many charities that his family is involved with, though there has been talk of enlistment in the military. There are also whispers that as the next head of the family Dorian is involved with the darker side of the family for those who believe in such rumors and myths.

Bio: The only child of Desmond Wulfric, son of the late oil tycoon Richard Wulfric, Dorian lived a rather carefree life. Brought up on the family estate outside the city, Dorian had only the best tutors allowing him to finish his high school education at the age of 16. Dorian spent the next few years traveling to a number specialized schools before returning to the states to attend college. A star of his soccer team, Dorian graduated with honors before joining his mother, Christina Wulfric on the board of their charities. Dorian made a much better face for the family, his charm only adding to the fact that he could actually manage the charities himself. While the family now makes most of their money from investment banking, Dorian's father Desmond wishes for him to pursue law, though Dorian has yet to make a decision. Seemingly following his mother's whims on where to throw their money next, Dorian was rather reluctant to host a vampire. For once leaving it up to her, Dorian knew like everything else this vampire would ultimately end up being his responsibility.

There comes a time when bad memories are nothing but a faded scene in the back of your head, being forgotten and replaced with new ones to fill a void. Of course, those old memories are the ones that shape you to be the person you are today. Like it or not, it happens, regardless of how much you may try suppress it. Maybe in fifth grade, the class bully pulled your pants down in front of everyone, and all of the kids laughed at you. You remember how it felt, but is that memory still worth thinking about ten years later? Maybe a date with your first crush ever stood you up in tenth grade, humiliating you and causing you to be weary of boys in the future. These memories no longer hold a place in your consciousness, but the results from those past happenings help you to learn what to do and how to feel in your everyday lives.

Rose Vanguard awoke from her deep slumber in a haste at the sound of a loud banging on her front door. It was not a pleasant sound, especially at this hour- what time was it, even? The petite blonde could see through the slatted blinds a couple of feet away that the sky was still dark, and it was quiet inside the house. She turned her head to glance at the digital clock on her nightstand, and then carried her gaze toward the young girl whom she shared a room with, still fast asleep in her own bed next to her. It was nearly five AM. The brown-headed girl stirred slightly, but didn’t awake as Rose slung her legs out from under the sheets, her feet hitting the ground noiselessly.

As Rose opened her bedroom door, the knocking persisted. God, was this person trying to wake up everyone in a two mile radius? She wasn’t sure how the vampires she lived with were still asleep, but then again she wasn’t surprised- Rose had always been a very light sleeper.

Everyone that she shared that house with, all seven of them, were put together by random. There was the blonde teenager, Rose herself, Ari, the small brunette that slept across from her, who was only eight, two twin boys the age of 13 named Brendon and Zachary, a middle aged woman named Amy, and a husband and wife who simply went by Lonnie and Carla. For some reason, they never spoke about their past lives, and the rest of the gang didn’t even know their last names. Sometimes, Rose preferred not to get too extremely personal with the other vampires in the house, but for some reason, Ari had a soft spot in her heart.

As she made it to the front door, Rose glanced through the peephole before opening. Two large men with stun weapons in hand and guns slung across their back stood before her, both completely dressed in black clothing. “Hey guys, what’s up? It’s kinda early, don’t you think?” Rose asked, shielding her sleepy eyes as one of the men shone a flashlight in her face.

“Rose Vanguard?” he asked, glancing down at a slip of paper before looking back up at the small blonde. He was at least a foot and a half taller than she. The girl nodded, her eyes becoming used to the light. “You’re coming with us. You’re being relocated.”

"I thought I would get to pick..." Dorian sighed in a disappointed tone as he watched the agents escort Rose to the van parked in front of the house. Leaning up between the front seats to get a better look at her, the older gentleman in the driver's seat couldn't help but laugh. "She is easy on the eyes, what would you say Vincent, 300 or 400 years old? About the equivalent to your age in vampire years. Much better than that girl you wear to all the charity balls." The middle-aged man laughed, as Vincent in the passenger seat seemed to fail to find the humor but still nodded in agreement.

"You're hilarious..." Dorian remarked, clearly disgruntled as he fell back into his seat an pulled out his phone. "Your mother wanted a girl, she is your best option."

"My mother doesn't know what she wants, but I guess I would prefer her drain me dry than some beast like Vincent."

"We have given this some thought Dorian, this isn't just another publicity stunt for your mother. I know what you want, but you can't just..." The middle-aged man tried to explain before pausing to see Dorian in the rearview mirror completely ignoring him. "...you are certainly my brother's son." The man sighed as he started the car, pulling out after the van had left.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

It would be almost noon before the agents arrived at the Wulfric estate with Rose. Pausing with her at the door to ring the bell, the door flew open as two women snatched the young vampire from them and pulled her inside. Startled, the agents may have shot them all if another woman hadn't started to scold them almost immediately. "You are late! She was supposed to be here 2 hours ago!!" The woman shouted, a personal assistant by the looks of her as she stepped outside to continue her discussion with the agents.

Inside the two women dragged Rose to what appeared to have been a bathroom before being converted into a makeshift salon. Starting about their work rather violently, they finished her hair and make-up in minutes before trying their best with her outfit. "Is she done?" Then asked a young man who had suddenly burst into the bathroom rather rudely. "Good enough, she is just a vampire after all." The man answered his own question before taking Rose's arm and guiding her along.

"You will have a quick meet and greet with the Wulfric's then we'll take the pictures. Lady Christina will see you for dinner, but Mr. Wulfric has a meeting in the city." The assistant started to explain, pausing only to see if she understood. "Girl, they skipped your eyebrows..." The man then noticed with a sigh, pausing before a large double doorway. "They will fix it in editing..." The assistant then concluded as he ushered her through the doorway.

On the other side was a large elegant hall with a rather stately looking pair standing in the center. The Wulfric's one could only assume as they moved to greet her. The first was a middle-aged woman, Lady Christina by the looks of her. Her long blonde hair and piercing blue eyes hid her age well but it was clear that she had work done. "Why aren't you lovely dear, Rose because you certainly are a rose...isn't she lovely dear?" Christina asked as she turned back to her husband.

The stern gentleman kept his distance but simply nodded in agreement, "...she is very beautiful. Welcome to the Wulfric family." Mr. Wulfric greeted her rather bluntly, his mind clearly on other matters he considered more important. His plain tailored suit and squarely cut but peppered hair made it clear he was not one for appearances like his wife, it being clear he was only tolerating this for her sake.

"Don't mind him dear, he is just grumpy cause the stocks are down. Wait till you meet Dor..." Christina started before pausing as the assistant who had led her in was now tapping on his watch. Immediately the couple came together, clutching Rose between them like a newborn as they were swarmed by the photographers who had been waiting in the corners. Striking a few different poses, Mr. Wulfric soon left them, as Lady Christina took a few more shots with Rose before being pulled away and out of the room by her assistant. "We are already late for lunch with Mrs. Robinson."

Just as Mrs. Wulfric left, the staff set about clearing the hall, now completely ignoring Rose as if she were just another one of the out of place chairs. Leaving her there for a few minutes, it was finally an elderly maid who approached her. "Ms. Vanguard is it?" The maid asked, before politely bowing as best as her old bones would allow her. "I am Laura, a maid in service to the Wulfric family. I was told you are to wait for Master Dorian. If you would like, I can show you to the parlor where you may be more comfortable?"

Rose hadn’t been given very much time to collect her few belongings and say goodbye to her housemates before she was pushed out the door and into a van. Her suitcase was tossed in the trunk, and the blonde girl solemnly waved goodbye to the other vampires sleepily crowded around the front porch, watching them peel out down the dirt road. She continued to recall every moment of those goodbyes the entire trip, especially Ari’s. The poor little girl had clung to her hip and cried, hot tears flowing down her bright pink cheeks as Rose tried to comfort her. She promised to write to the youngling as much as she possibly could, and visit if she was allowed.

During her last reverie, Rose was jolted out of her thoughts as the van stopped suddenly, slinging her forward in her seat. She wasn’t completely sure how to act or what to say- she was very vaguely informed of where she was going or who she would be staying with except for a few mentionings of an estate, charities, and wealth. All of these things definitely peaked the girl’s interest, hoping and praying that they would become reality and not just mere words.

She had lived in a wonderful house herself as an only child with her two parents before the bad times, and had attended high school and had many friends. Being vampires, however, the family couldn’t stay in one place for very long for fear of people catching onto their lack of aging, so they bounced from place to place until a little over a year ago, when their race was discovered. Her mother was a lawyer and her father a doctor at the time, and both were taken from Rose and shipped out to different locations away from their only daughter within a week. Tracking chips were planted into their skin to make sure they couldn’t run away, and the girl was placed with strangers in a house on a reservation. She was forced to work and take care of younger vampires, living a miserable life only trying to survive.

Suddenly, Rose was being bombarded by humans- makeup artists, hair stylists, all of the like, and thrown into a black cherry colored dress that was way too mature for her age. After a short time, she was again dragged out into the main hall to...take photographs? Still truly unaware of what was going on, the girl attempted to tune out all of the voices floating around her, wanting so badly to be alone in that moment in time. However, she powered through the awkward greetings and instructions as she was placed next to a middle aged couple, who she guessed were husband and wife. The woman seemed to be a lot younger, but up close Rose immediately knew she was a little plastic. Still, she was beautiful. The man didn’t seem to care that he was there either way, simply agreeing with his wife when she started spouting compliments to the teenager.

Again, Rose wasn’t sure what to say, so she simply nodded and smiled slightly, her lips curled up forcibly. Bright lights were flashed in her face from the cameras of several photographers, and the blonde didn’t know where to look. Was this some sort of charity event for her? For vampires? All of these questions were swimming in her head as she stood awkwardly alone after the couple had exited, leaving her to figure out her next move.

Thankfully, an older maid gently pulled her aside, her voice soothing and nice. She informed her that she would be waiting on a gentleman in the parlor- perhaps the one she would be living with? Or would she be with the middle aged couple in the photos? All Rose could do was nod, and follow the woman out of the hallway and into a main room, the walls and stairs blindingly white. The walls were decorated with beautifully painted canvases and family photos that were blown up way too large, accompanied by several faces Rose hadn’t recognized yet.

“M-master...Dorian?” she squeaked, her gaze shifting back toward Laura, who had stopped beside her in front of a long, velvety lounge seat. Rose took a seat, her fingers tangled together in her lap as she nervously looked around for this mystery man, completely unexpecting of what was to come.

"Yes, the Wulfric's only child. Do not worry, he is a very kind young man, not like all the other people in this Manor..." Laura winked as she moved to the door. "...I shall fetch some refreshments, but do try to relax dear. This parlor is rarely used, no one will bother you here." The old maid tried to comfort the clearly bewildered girl before dismissing herself with a polite bow.

Taking the long drive down the courtyard to the manor, Dorian wondered what he would do with this girl. He would be lying if he said he didn't pity her, but still, he needed a vampire. She would be so much easier to use if she was some brute like Vincent but her looks simply made evident his weakness. To such an extent that he had sat outside in his car for nearly an hour before finally making his way inside.

"I do not know where he could be, he is usually never late for anything. I shall phone him for you dear..." Laura then suggested as she left the room, having spent the past hour with Rose.

Peeking into the front parlor, Dorian could only assume she had been hidden away. Perhaps for good reason as he knew many of the staff would not be fond of their new tenant. Dipping into the parlor, "oh, excuse me...I didn't know my mother had guests." Dorian laughed apologetically as he pretended not to recognize Rose. "You wouldn't have happened to have seen a vampire running about have you? Well not running, I was told she is actually very nice." Dorian then asked, continuing his charade.

Rose had been waiting for a while with Laura, the time going by ever so slowly. The longer she sat, the more anxious the girl became. In her head, she had assumed the worst- was he some kind of mean slave trader? Was he going to be terrible to her? Was he old, or young? It was something that truly made her feel uncomfortable- waiting. Finally, after what seemed like forever, the front door opened and a young man popped his head in, looking around. Was he unaware that she was coming? Did nobody inform him?

The blonde glanced over at Laura for a moment, raising her eyebrows at his question. She shrugged, and quickly curtsied before exiting the parlor. Rose stood, smoothing out her dress as she took a few slow, hesitant steps toward the much taller young man. "I...I'm Rose," he told her, her voice small and mousy. She stuck a hand out for him to take from her, her skin the color of porcelain- so pale that you could almost see a few of the deep vains speckling across it.

Rose wasn’t sure what to make of this stranger, but she knew from first impressions that he couldn’t have been much older than her (in human years), and he was incredibly handsome. Everything about him screamed success and money, while on the other end she must have seemed like nothing to him. Either way, he didn’t seem to be too knowledgeable on the situation unless he was bluffing. She decided to play along, and see where this would take her. What was the worst that could happen?

“I’m the uh...vampire, you requested, sir,” she continued, her icy blue eyes sparkling with curiosity and mystery. She was definitely a beauty- there was no doubt about that- and she easily cleaned up well. For a moment, Rose pictured herself on Dorian’s arm as his guest to any future balls or events or whatever the hell they did with their lives. It was nice, especially after her own rough living after the last year or so.

Dorian froze as she rose to greet him, seemingly entranced by her beauty. Quickly shaking the spell as she extended her hand, Dorian simply wondered if it was actually some spell she had cast. Romance had always come easy for him, his looks and his families wealth certainly didn't hurt, but because of that fact, Dorian thought it a meaningless venture, at least at this point in his life. Rose certainly gave him reason to rethink his resolve, but she served more important purposes now.

"Ah of course, I just expected...I don't really know what I expected." Dorian laughed awkwardly, putting on the same mask he wore for charity events and visits to children's hospitals. Taking her hand Dorian shook it gently before guiding her back to her seat on the couch. "However, I didn't request you, it was my mother. She always did want a daughter, but she was never really one for the business of raising children..." Dorian remarked as he continued to look Rose over. "Not that you are a child...I assume you met my parents?" Dorian continued as he pretended to get flustered.

"I'm sorry, let us start over as I am certain no one has given you a proper welcome," Dorian said with a smile as he took the seat next to her. "I am Dorian Wulfric and welcome to Wulfric Manor. Before I start I am sure you have questions?"

Dorian asked the vampire with a polite smile as he forced himself to maintain eye contact. From what he had gathered she hardly seemed like a fighter and he was almost certain that she never fed on a human. Of course, most vampires hadn't, but if his uncle was right she must have done something in her 300 years. Yet, she did not even smell of blood, and he could probably slay her right here with little effort. Chasing the thoughts from his mind, Dorian simply smiled again as he waited for her questions.

Rose nodded blankly at his asking if she had met his parents. A quick image of the two flashed through her mind as she sat down again in her original seat with Dorian following a moment later. He hadn’t expected her to appear as she did? What was he expecting? Some large brute with blood dripping from his fangs? The thought was absurd, and she almost let the amusement appear over her features, but she quickly reigned it in just in time. Of course, the myths of vampires over the last several centuries implied that vampires were the silent night killers- nothing more. How could humans possibly fancy the notion that they had been unknowingly living amongst them this entire time? They had hid themselves very well until those idiot rogues had blown their cover.

“Yes, I do have lots of questions, actually,” Rose informed him, tucking a piece of white blonde hair behind her ear as her eyes flickered toward his own, “First of all- why am I here? I’m a lot smarter than you must think of me- I don’t believe that I’m here just so your mother can take me to charity balls and show me off as a prized adopted child of sorts- no, I can see I have a bigger purpose.” Her voice was as smooth as silk, almost with a seductive hint to her tone.

“But,” Rose continued, shaking her head with a small chuckle, her lips parting to reveal a set of long, dagger-like fangs, “I suppose all will be revealed in time, yes?” It was quite impressive how well-mannered the girl spoke, almost as if she weren’t from this century. She definitely had the appearance of a more modern teenage girl, but her voice gave away her secrets.

She barely gave Dorian a chance to speak before adding, “I’d like to know what my arrangements are,” she said flatly, taking a deep breath and holding it in for a moment before slowly letting it out, “I wish to be able to continue contact with my, um...younger sister, Ari. I used to share a house with her, and...she had nobody. I have to make sure she’s properly cared for.” Oh, how she worried about the poor youngling back at home. Of course she had the others to make sure she was safe, but the small brunette has always had a special place in Rose’s heart. Rose has lost and been separated from her own parents, so she knew how it felt to be alone.

"I honestly do wish there was more reason to you being here..." Dorian laughed as he sat back on the couch, his tone now much more casual. "...put your fangs away unless you intend to feed?" Dorian smirked as he gave her a daring stare before pulling out his phone. "Those pictures you took with my parents is really all my mother needed you for." Dorian started to explain as he began to scroll through his phone. "Vampire rights is a hot button topic, my family will be the talk of the town for the next week or two, as will you..." Dorian laughed again as he showed her the pictures that were now on most major news sites, "Vampire adoption drains the piggy bank and the heart." Showing her another picture of just her, "the media is especially fond of you. We have already received calls from modeling agencies that wish to hire you." Dorian added, clearly amused by the notion.

"You will be expected to attend a few parties here and there of course, take a few more pictures, but that is basically it," Dorian said as he leaned closer to her. "Of course your payment is that you get to stay here and you will basically never want for anything ever again...well maybe not anything. I mean you get to live a life most could not even imagine, but you live under the Wulfric name, you can't just do as you please..."

"...I'll make sure Ari is cared for and you can see her should it be deemed appropriate. Otherwise, you're generally free to do as you please. You don't have escorts yet though so I would prefer you stick to indoor activities for now." Dorian added, realizing that this was quickly sounding worse and worse as he went on. "I did have a few fun things planned for today if you did want to go out though?" Dorian then asked, deciding it would be best if he left out the part about the serum and blood for now.

A gentle pang of disappointment hit Rose right in the chest, but she didn't let it show over her delicate features. That's all she was being used for- a trophy, something to show off for his parents' personal gain. They may have been nice at first, but as the blonde slowly came to the realization that she was extremely replaceable, her mood suddenly soured. However, she was extremely good at hiding her emotions, so Dorian would have never guessed she was upset. What did she expect, honestly? To be welcomed into a new "family" with open arms? For these people to just shower her with love an attempt to restore her past life and childhood? It was stupid and childish to think such things, especially in the world they lived in today. Vampires were either a novelty, or they were despised.

That's what Rose was: a novelty. Someone to show off to the media and the world in attempt to make someone else look better, as if they were "saving" poor Rose from despair. To be quite honest, the vampire didn't completely hate her life when she lived in the little house with her makeshift family- humans didn't really realize how good they actually had it. It wasn't as if they lived like slaves...They were just on the poorer spectrum is all. But she had been happy.

As Dorian continued to speak, all of the visions and images that Rose had dreamed of over the last hour waiting in the parlor started to slowly fade- foolish visions such as wearing matching Christmas sweaters with her new family, baking, etc. All of the would-be memories disappeared. At least she would be treated decently, although the closeness was clearly going to lack. When the young man sitting next to her mentioned that Ari would be taken care of, Rose breathed a sigh of relief. That was what was most important to her, and she hoped she always felt the same way. She only wished that Ari would maybe one day become adopted as well...She had barely been listening to Dorian explaining the charity, and the modeling, nearly glancing at his phone when he attempted to impress her.

"Go...out? Go out where? To do what?" Rose asked curiously, this definitely grabbing her attention. She was never allowed to leave her camp except to go to work at her crummy job in a laundromat, so anywhere he'd be taking her would be a special treat. Her eyes were wide as she awaited his explanation for their adventure. Dorian's voice was equally as smooth as hers, if not more so. He was handsome, but his male beauty didn't necessarily phase Rose. She was mostly concerned about herself and her own well being- she didn't have time to worry about anyone else.

Dorian smiled as Rose appeared to have perked up upon his offer. While there was certainly more to her role here, Dorian knew that he would have to gain her trust first. He had tried to rush things before and he still bore the scars from it. Still, he did question his uncle's methods. Compared to the rouges Rose was nothing more than a child. A blatant fact given his need to now care for her. However, Dorian hid his impatience well, one of his honed skills when dealing with the charities or his parents.

"Well, I had a few things planned, a tour, a trip to the city. There were also a few people I would like you to meet, but it is already late so perhaps another time." Dorian said as he stood up. "We could go get you a few things, some new clothes for sure and whatever else you would like. Perhaps it is too early, but we could get you back in school or in some sort of work that interests you?" Dorian asked with a smile before letting it fade as he crouched in front of her.

"We could also visit a doctor..." Dorian then suggested before pausing once again to read her expression. He did worry about her health, both physically and mentally, but he did wonder about her abilities as well. Not all vampires were equal and Dorian did wonder where she stood. However, it would be rather pointless until she had been fed with human blood.

"...I know this has been very rough for you. I won't pretend to understand what you've been through, but I would like to help." Dorian said as he took her hand. "I know we've only just met, but you can tell me if you're hurt, or if you would just like to talk to someone?"

There were so many mixed feelings within Rose’s tiny body that she didn’t know what to feel. For now, she was safe and in a good home, and that’s all that mattered. She’d work out the rest later, but she might as well make the best out of this situation and take advantage of the opportunities given to her. New clothes? Makeup? Actually going to the doctor? None of these things Rose had been given the chance to have over the last year or so. It almost made her want to tear up with joy. The last time she’d went to the doctor was almost two years before while she was still in high school, there was no telling what was going on inside of her body- especially being around other vampires who also lacked the privilege to see a doctor or nurse.

Her cheeks were flushed with a light pink as she nodded gratefully, biting down on the inside of her cheek. She only wished her family back at home could get to experience this luxury. What of her parents, though? For all she knew, they were dead. Maybe she would get the chance to reconnect... but that was for a later conversation. She didn’t want to push her limits and seem like she was asking for too much, even though he did say she can have pretty much anything she wanted.

“Can... is there any way I can change out of this dress, first?” Rose asked awkwardly, smiling warmly at his touch. His gaze was friendly and alluring- almost too alluring. She had to be on guard no matter what, but he was surely making it difficult. It wasn’t unusual for one to feel at ease around people who were attractive. He was offering to be a shoulder to lean on, someone who would listen- dare she trust him with her knowledge and history. “It’s just...” she continued, briefly pulling her hand away to scratch at her side, “it’s a little itchy is all.”

"Ah right, I'm guessing that dress was my mothers doing..." Dorian laughed as he stood up. Making his way to the door, "I am sure they have already prepared a room for you so your things should be there. If not I'm sure there is something decent laying about, my things should be untouched, I think..." Dorian paused, barely dodging Laura and the large tray she was carrying. "What are you doing, you shouldn't be carrying so much..." Dorian scolded her as he quickly took the tray and set it down on the table.

"Now you watch your tone, you may have grown, but you're still just as helpless..." Laura quickly retorted. Looking to fire back, Dorian was quickly silenced by the grumblings of his own stomach. "Well...I did skip lunch." Dorian reluctantly admitted as he glanced down at the tray to see all his favorites. "Thank you, Laura..." Dorian then added as he pecked the old maid on the cheek before returning to his seat beside Rose.

"We will stay a moment longer, but could you help Rose change, show her to her room as well. Hurry though, she needs to eat as well..." Dorian then ordered the maid as Laura simply nodded before becoming Rose to follow her.

"I had thought that she would be joining you in the city? Your parents will be away for some time now..." Laura then suddenly asked. "She is fine here." Dorian immediately responded, completely dismissing the idea. Nodding once again, the maid simply waited for Rose to stand before she started to leave the parlor.
