He had never really known a very complicated life. He grew up in a military family where having a pizza and a 2-L bottle of soda was seriously splurging for a time. His father was very much a black and white kind of guy with many views, and quick to bark at you when you did something he didn't like. Mind you, he was never abusive in any sense of the word, just a bit of a grouch and opinionated. Mom was the stereotypical military spouse and could feed a family of 5 for a month on $100.

Robert grew up with the gift of gab, although most would never know it as he was naturally shy most of his life. It would later be found that he had ADHD and possibly Asperger's syndrome, among a few other things. So he didn't know how to relate to "normal" people with their need for drinking, partying, clubbing, or drugs. None of it made any sense to him and it seemed such a waste of time and resources. All the same he had a knack for words, through telling stories, or even subtle seduction. And there was many a time he ended up with a woman that others might consider out of his league. He knew how to get into other peoples' heads.

In later years he joined the military, at the beginning of his adulthood in fact, and spent the next decade or more in the lifestyle. Twelve-hour shifts, no birthdays or holidays off, and random to rotating shifts became the norm. And while he didn't like it he would eventually learn to adapt to it. He learned the ways of the Intelligence community on many levels. He learned quite a bit in different fields, and even different cultures and their ways from being stationed in different countries. And yet, he never completely fit in. He was always the acquaintance, the buddy at work, or the bench warmer.

In those years he studied and learned more about persuasion, the human mind, and reading peoples' body-language and more. He also learned more about himself and how to change things. This also was further strengthened by his studies into the martial arts, taking in the philosophies and ways of life. So when his time in the military was done he had the chance to finally be himself. He utilized his natural abilities and skills to finally be part of the community, someone that was called friend, confidante, and was often sought out.

The one thing that ultimately remained a constant, and had since before he even knew what being a teen was, was gaming. He'd been the game master for most of those years weaving story after story, one adventure to another, and bringing others into the fold so that even they could find a sense of belonging and community. And it was the game, during a uncommon time where he got to play, that everything changed dramatically. One moment he and the rest of the group were listening intently, chomping at the bit as the ST brought the suspense higher, and the next thing he knew he was looking around at a world that was most definitely not the apartment. The truth was revealed to them, and like some cosmic joke where they were the unfortunate punchline they were stuck in a world that was both their greatest dream come true while potentially being their worst nightmares.

His body had become more of an idealized form of himself. The clothing was definitely different and flattered his new body quite nicely. And what brought a laugh that he couldn't contain was when the others began to identify the caste marks upon their heads and he realized that he was an Eclipse. Oh the fun he would have. Well, after he figured out when they could relax and not leave him with the sense that he was going to shit himself.
