Terra and her late brother were the royalty of the small eastern European country of Markovia. She was a hard-headed child, confused with who she was with the conflict between her upbringing and personal desires, Terra hated being told how to act which fostered her eventual rebellious streak. She and her brother were eventually put through experiments to make them heroes in order to protect their family with her brother passing in the fallout of such as well as the initial outburst of Terra's powers causing chaos throughout the region, leading to her eventual running away. The experiments worked on herself, but she couldn't control them, so she ran away so she wouldn't hurt anyone else, at least that was the idea.
She traveled around very frequently, she did attempt to help people in an aim to make up for what she had done but on each occasion, something even worse happened as a result of using her kinetic abilities. This would eventually lead to her involvement with the Titans, apprenticeship with Slade and stone imprisonment beneath Jump city. She would remain aware and in isolation within the dark chamber. Eventually, through desperation or perhaps also outside forces, she would fully establish a connection to the entity known as "The Melt" and the Parliament of Stones as her mind would reach out while the body was entombed leading to her eventual freedom in a Seismic event that collapsed the chamber. Disorientated she attempted to have a normal life, though something was clearly wrong and as much as she was enjoying life it was slowly becoming clear such was not meant for her. This came to a head when the encounter with a Titan caused the memories to slowly resurface and for her to depart once more to find out who she really was from the ground floor. Instead of running, her travels after this point were instead searching, traveling to various locations and using her abilities to help with a far smoother easy and control, eventually cementing her path as an avatar of The Melt before returning to where she was reborn once more, Jump City.
Geokinesis: Terra can control and manipulate all forms of rock and earthly substances and materials. Unlike her brother who has shown some geokinesis under stress, Terra can fully control the dirt and earth she controls and manipulates. There is no set limit to how far or how close she needs to be to the earth for this power and ability to work. She has been able to be completely off the ground and still control the earth. She has created tremors, earthquakes, sharpen rocks to needlepoint, and has control over these elements for as long as she can physically maintain them.
Stone Mimicry: Following her initial imprisonment and eventual connection to the Melt Terras body can be converted entirely into a homogeneous mass of stone though maintaining a human appearance if they wish. This can essentially make her body one mass of stone that is far more durable than a normal human.
Earth Immunity: Terra's body is unable to be damaged by the earth in any of its forms.
Terra has matured somewhat from her further travels and experiences, having finally tackled her deepest insecurities to gain genuine confidence and direction in her life. Stripping away much of the baggage she approaches situations directly and simply where she can use her own judgment instead of what those around her may deem best. Its through this that much of her fun-loving demeanor has returned along with a playful side, now firm in her desires and purpose.
Raven has had an eventful life and like most lives it starts with her parents. Her mother Angela Roth, she was young, rebellious, and gullible. This led her to join a cult where they decided to do a bride of the devil rite, how many expected this to work , who knows but this time it did; though the didn't summon Satan but rather Trigon. Trigon would come in the guise of the most handsome of men and only during the deed would he revel his true form and terrify Angela so much she would soon flee the cult and end up on the streets. It was here that being from another dimension Azarath would intervene and take Angela in. Still when Raven was born her mother understandably, to some, wanted nothing to do with her and given her heritage it was mere moments before one inhabitant of Azarath suggested they kill the baby Raven before she grew. The Azar, the leader of Azarath decided against this and said she would raise Raven and tutor her to try to prevent her father from using her. This might have worked if the Azar could have mentored Raven into adulthood, but she sadly died after only 10 years leaving Raven alone the other inhabitants of Azarath wanting little to do with her and not getting rid of her only because of respect for the former Azar.
Raven now alone would sink into her own depression before seeking some home, any home, and any companion she could. While one half of her family completely rejected her, there was another half she had never tried and perhaps if she understood him she would understand why she was so hated. This was a mistake, one that while borne of only good intentions would have the most dire of consequences for the idyllic realm of Azarath. Thus when Raven was 12 she would reach out and call forth her father Trigon. While the cultists could only bring forth a tiny fraction of his power, just enough to manifest and little else, Raven being his daughter could bring him forth in his fully glory. The moment Trigon arrived was the moment Azarath was destroyed, in a moment paradise was remade into hell and life was robbed from all that lived.
Trigon then took raven to his home realm, a hellish place of pain and suffering, where he planned to reeducate his daughter to better play her part. Raven would endure nearly 3 years in the tender mercies of her father and his methods of teaching, though what always horrified her most was anytime she felt his emotions she could feel that in his own way Trigon did care for her. Still Raven would put a stop to Trigon's plans as he underestimated her and she was able to use her magic to trap him withing a gem where he hopefully would remain. This left Raven alone again and after a time she would leave Trigon's realm for Earth seeking what she always had a home and family.
Damian Wayne: Raven is fairly close friends with Damian sharing certain similarities. She feels she can hopefully make him more social and a better person. Still she has kept her history from him like she has all others only alluding to it.
Trigon: Raven has an oddly complex relationship with her father, she hates him and everything that he is and has done, yet she can't hide that a small part of her care for him.
Soul-self: The basis of almost all of Raven's powers are derived from her soul-self. She is able to project her soul from her body into corporeal form, allowing her to use it to interact with the physical world, to affect others mentally and to traverse through time-space. Her soul-self takes the form of a double of her own body or more commonly, a large black raven. She is capable of changing it's shape and size at will, and can alter her own appearance with her soul-self, like increasing her size or making her face hideous. She is able to project her soul-self into the minds of others for a devastating mental attack, to communicate, facilitate calm or to force people into submission.
Telekinesis: Raven can merge a small part of her soul-self into objects in order to take control of them, with the object essentially becoming an extension of her soul-self
Solid Constructs: With her soul-self able to be molded into any shape, Raven often creates simple domes or walls that acts as barriers against attack. She can project solid bolts to be used as projectiles, or a steady stream of solid force. She has been shown making razor sharp blades to cut through obstacles, claws that can restrain foes and floating platforms to ride on.
Dimensional Travel and Teleportation: Raven's soul-self is able to envelop her (along with at least four other people) in order to travel to other dimensions, primarily Azarath. She can use this technique to travel vast distances on Earth, or to teleport by momentarily displacing herself and then re-appearing in another location. She can also pass through walls and obstacles by simply teleporting past them, giving the illusion of intangibility. At times, Raven is shown creating portals with her dark energy in order to travel, rather than utilizing her soul-self.
Empathy: The power to sense the emotions of others, allowing her to gain insight into their thoughts and intentions, and even experience their own feelings. This also enables her to sense the mental state of others, as she has stated that she would know if someone's mind had been tampered with. Raven can absorb the pain of others into her own body in order to induce rapid healing for them and can heal herself by going into a trance of emotional calm. She can receive precognitive flashes of the future when exposed to extreme emotion. By using her empathy to guide her, she can track others with her soul-self.
Levitation: Raven can levitate off the ground and fly, without visible projection of her dark energy as is shown when she utilizes telekinesis. Her power is also sufficient to enable her to counter the gravitational pull of other planets.
Half-Demon Form: When Raven is highly upset, she can transform into her half-demon self, usually with four glowing red eyes (a trait inherited from her demon father, Trigon) and sprouting black tentacles from under her cloak. She has little control over her actions in this state.
Magical Lore: Raven possess' an affinity for mysticism, and has numerous items of an occult nature and an extensive library dedicated to sorcery.
Above-Average Physical Condition: Though not the most physically talented of the fivesome, Raven is nonetheless a fairly skilled hand-to-hand fighter, having received at least some degree of physical training.
Willis Todd believed that raising his son meant to raise his fists. Catherine, as much as she loved him, as much as she brushed her hand through the curls of his hair and promised them an escape to a better life loved the drugs more. By the time that Willis was put away and his mother growing sicker and sicker by the day, Jason took to stealing and hustling to provide. Jason knew exactly how much a loaf of bread costs, how much he could cry and plead with the landlord when the rent was late because Catherine used their funds for another fix, how a nickel would be the difference between eating and going to bed hungry. When Catherine over dosed, Jason already knew what streets he walk down and which ones peddled kids, how many hours he could sleep and where before he had to move on, which restaurants threw out something edible and when, how to quickly and efficiently boost tires for maximum profit. Being so young and labeled pretty mean that he had to be quick on his feet, he had to be able to disappear in a moment's notice, to be able to speak up to say something nastier and more threatening than the next guy, to know how to throw a punch - Willis already taught him how to take one.
Desperation, half starved, and maybe a little bit of an ego lead him to trying to boost the Batmobile of all things. Actually got off three tires before the asshole caught him. A corrupt group home and a few run aways later, Bruce Wayne - Batman was taking him to Wayne Manor as his ward. Heat, food, a private school education, clean towels and clothes, a whole god damn library and Jason didn't have to do anything for it other than to stay out of trouble.
Then there was being Robin.
Bruce said that he had potential, that he could take all of his knowledge of the hardships of Crime Alley and use it to help people. Robin was a distraction for Batman's foes. Robin was a symbol of hope to the kid's suffering just as he had. Robin was magic. And filling the shoes of Dick Grayson? That meant he had to have compassion, had to be agile, smart and witty. Dick Grayson was the golden standard, an unachievable one that no matter how much he sassed and growled at now Nightwing, he strive to reach, to be better. Easier said than done when Dick had more experience than him as an acrobat, was almost five inches taller than him during their respective starts of Robin and at least ten pounds on him. Malnutrition made him a tiny Robin even when he'd entered his teenage years, Jason was a measly eighty pounds. Not at all impressive by most standards, and certainly not anything short of embarrassing when it came to be compared to the his class. Being compared to the titans.
Jason thought that Dick's name couldn't be more fitting with how much of a jerk the older Robin was. Sure, Jason wasn't filled with the most sunshine with the cards that he'd been dealt, he was hot headed and didn't hesitate to act on his emotions by lashing out and rage, because that's what he knew. Being scared got you killed. Being happy meant that you were naive. Being meek meant someone was going to take advantage. Being angry? People left that alone. Which made sense, granted that he wanted nothing to do with Dick Grayson and his anger filled mood swings. As far as Jason was concerned, he had Alfred and his books. He didn't need a moody older brother or to be a part of his little team (not that he was wanted there). Dick's team was all as equally self righteous and annoying as their leader.
Perhaps if he'd reached out sooner, stopped being so stubborn and allowed himself vulnerability he wouldn't have started to be a little more aggressive than necessary. He wouldn't have become so reckless as to run straight into gun fire and defy the Bat's order. He would never have been questioned on his story about that man's death. He would have never fought with Bruce, and he'd never been benched. He wouldn't have gone in to Ethiopia alone. He would have known better than to give his trust so blindly to a woman that had abandoned him at birth.
After being beaten to the brink of death, bleeding out in his stupid colorful uniform with enough head trauma to be a vegetable, the bomb going off was merciful. At fifteen Jason died by asphyxiation, pitifully small 4'6 and 87 lbs.
Even in death, Jason was an unlucky bastard. Cosmic magic, a shift in the universe, whatever the hell was responsible, Jason woke to the confines of his coffin six feet under. After clawing his way out from the wood and dirt, he ran away into the night. Aimless and scared until he was clipped by a couple lost on their way out of Gotham. If the damage before wasn't enough, now he'd been left entirely catatonic, working entirely off of instinct and muscle memory of the dead Robin trained by Batman. When he was able to escape the hospital he'd gone back to the streets, meeting only his base needs until word had gotten out of his familiarity.
While her intentions were twisted by selfish motivation and obsession, Jason owed his life to Talia al Ghul. She'd taken him in, protected him from the world and worked tirelessly to help him regain his mind. A pretty little project to get her back into the good graces of the man she loved. The universe resurrected him, Talia gave back his mind when she'd defied the Demon's Head to push him into the green waters of Lazarus. She'd sent Jason to train with the greatest that the LOA had to offer, using his newfound rage towards his mentor as motivation. She'd spun a tale of having justice for his death, for getting vengeance on being replaced like yesterday's trash, of putting Bruce down once and for all. Clouded by the tsunami in his heart and the green in his head, he'd allow himself to be manipulated and driven by mindless rage to return to Gotham as a far cry from the long since dead Robin, now standing at 6'3 and 165 lbs to reek havoc on the city as his killer's former alter ego. Convinced himself that as the Red Hood he could control crime since the Bat long since failed to abolish it. Convinced himself that by playing on old wounds and blowing up enough of Gotham's underworld he'd be able to rid the world of the real scum of the world; Batman and Joker.
A plan well in theory but with dire consequences of having his throat slit by the man he loved so in his youth.
Following a small reprieve to lick his wounds in peace of having the life of the Joker chose over his own, Jason would return to Gotham's shadows. Working as the silent partner of the drug and weapons trade and the price for stepping out of line. The glaring red bat at his chest an ironic salute to the ties an entire lifetime ago. At twenty years Jason uses the Red Hood as a necessary evil, helping people the way that he wants to, and punishing those in a way that fits the crime.
Dick Grayson, original Robin and Jason's former role model. It was almost too easy to hate the older just as much as he admired him from a distance. It was easy to write him off as a jerk when he was younger and facing the repercussions of his and Bruce's fallout. It was easier to accept rejection than to made an effort for something better. Now as adults, both going through the backlash of Bruce's ire, it's easier to connect to the former Robin.
He was the youngest of his family, performing on the trapeze with his mother and father (Mary and John). It was a normal performance when the wires snapped. Dick had to watch his parents plummet to their deaths while a man was getting revenge. This was also the night he would meet a man who would change his life forever, Bruce Wayne. After a year or so of living under his roof he learned his identity, becoming Robin shortly thereafter.
As he grew up, he became tired of Bruce's stance on the world; Justice trumping all. After turning 18 he ran off to Bludhaven to start a new, less vigilante life; which lasted about as long as one would think. Soon he got a new name, Nightwing, fighting crime once again.. but in more ways than one. Detective and Vigilante.
Jason Todd
They weren't close when he left, practically the opposite. Dick didn't hate him, but he wasn't too sure about the boy coming off the streets and being brought into a much different life. He was a little more upset than he should've been when he learned Jason was Robin. Giving a random boy a shot to take up a mantle he created, wasn't something he completely agreed with. However he did learn to like him a bit more as time progressed, he wasn't utterly destroyed when he died, but he also wasn't happy. He felt worse for not giving him a chance and not learning more about his deceased brother when he had the chance.
Once Jason had been revived and, well as well as someone could be from the pits, they connected a little more. Now they've gotten a more brotherly understanding and a "happier" relationship.
Roy Harper
Old friends. Now a more strained relationship because of Roy's choices. He doesn't hate him, though, he would still jump through just as many hoops as he would've when they were younger to keep his friend alive.
Kori
Friendship from working together
Damian Wayne
A sort of brotherly friendship, in his eyes at the very least.
Skills
Proficient in Eskrima and Acrobatics, He also knows Judo and Aikido.
Roy has a complicated relationship with Dick after the Titans initially dissolved. He still cares a great deal for him but still feels fairly abandoned after things went up in smoke.
Roy is more of a functional user at this point in his life, he thankfully didn't fall down the heroin spiral.
The son of Talia Al Ghul and Bruce Wayne, Damian was born at the League of Shadows base up in the Himalaya. Being the heir of the Al Ghul familiy meant training to be stronger than any other member of the League since he was three years old. His grandfather molded him into a living weapon and took away his chance at a normal childhood. At five years old, he experienced a life or death fight for the first time, at six he killed his first man. He learned how to speak Mandarin, Arabic and English from a very young age, as well as economical theories and politics.
When Slade Wilson attacked the League and killed his grandfather, Damian was taken to the USA by his mother, who decided that he would be better off getting to know his father, now. Since Bruce had had no idea that he had a son with Talia and Damian wasn't exactly fond of the way he was being treated like a child, the start of their relationship was a bumpy one. Even though he disapproved of the no kill rule (which is inefficient, in his opinion), Damian wanted to be a part of all aspects of Bruces life and since he already knew that his father was Batman, it was only natural to him that he would become Robin and later take over the mantle of the Bat.
As Robin, he is unnecessarily violent and lacks compassion. He takes orders, but he doesn't accept other ways than violence or threats to solve a problem- because, how should he know better? The weapon of chioce id his grandfather's Katana, but he was restricted from using it due to an incident where a criminal was almost fatally hurt.
To socialize him and also to show him that teamwork is not about taking orders from the leader and not working together, Bruce made him join Dick's newly formed team of lost teenagers. Now under the wing of Nightwing, he's slowly being socialized, though he is still far from normal.
Dick: He respects him as a leader, which is a privilege only few share. He's slowly starting to open up to Dick about his emotions and Dick is helping him understand what makes him different from kids his age and how he can change that.
Rachel: They bonded over their similar pasts (being raised by bad people and all) and now share a deep friendship. Rachel also helps Damian to get in touch with his emotions and express them to others.
He's been trained by Ra's Al Ghul, which means he's fighting in a mixture of several martial arts that his grandfather gathered over the centuries
His knowlege about economy and politics is that of a sophisticated old man and not of a 12 year old
He can read, write and speak Mandarin, Arabic and English. Currently, he's learning Russian and Japanese.
He has an idetic memory and is a very quick learner.
He's also very ambitious and often dissatisfied with himself.
He gets frustrated very easily, especially fi he can't keep up with his own high expectations.
Empathy? What is empathy?
He thinks showing emotions (especially fear, sadness or pain) is weak and should be avoided at all cost.
Koriand'r was born as a Princess of Tamaran along with her sister Komand'r and her brother Ryand'r. However, though she comes from royal lineage she's far from spoiled. Though her childhood was almost entirely perfect, life changed drastically when the oppressive Citadel invaded her planet. Her sister allied herself with the Citadel soon after their arrival and was appointed as one of their leaders, though Kori has yet to discover if her sister's choice was due to tactical decision, force, or pure betrayal of their people. Regardless, it forever fraught the bond that was already complicated because of royal competitions.
Koriand'r soon became one of the enslaved and within imprisonment faced almost every possible hell imaginable. Though she was used to physical combat training due to her royal status, she now dealt with heavy labor, frequent corporal punishment, along with sexual abuse. Additionally, she underwent brutally painful experimentation that she later learned incited further superpowers beyond those her Tamaranean heritage already allowed her. After years of captivity, Kori eventually freed herself one day during the commotion of a battle with a starblast, which stemmed form the energy she was able to absorb during experimentation being released and melting her bonds. She escaped her home planet and found her way to Earth.
New on the planet and still trying to find a way to fit in, Kori longs for the semblance of a family or even a support group after being essentially alone for so many years. Though she's eager to learn everything about Earth and help liberate as many people as she can along the way from bonds that may not just be physical--she's no stranger to the slavery of addiction--, she eventually wishes to return to Tamaran to free her people, see what remains of her brother, and discover the truth behind her sister's treachery.
Additionally, as Kori can only assimilate language through the physical contact of a kiss, she learned English through a short lived relationship she formed with Dick Grayson before leaving to discover what else this planet holds and where she could be of assistance.
Friendship with Dick Grayson
Powers due to Tamaranean heritage:
-Super strength
-Super durability
-Flight
-Superhuman stamina
-Linguistic assimilation through physical contact
-Advanced hand-to-hand combats
Powers due to experimentation:
-Energy absorption (she can absorb radiation such as UV radiation from the sun)
-Energy projection/Starbolts (hyper concentrated energy that are highly devastating, and she uses sparingly)
