A New Frontier

Hearing Blair call her name, she turned and waved her torch attempting to get her friend's attention. "Over here!" Raphael called before turning back to the carvings. She looked upon the one with the fire once more before looking to the final and half completed one. Frowning, she brought the light source closer to the rock face, trying to make sense of what she saw. It was obviously rushed, the sloppiness of the edges clearly deforming the work-in-progress somewhat though not enough to totally obscure what it was trying to tell. It was roughly shaped like a fish though that could be a bit of an exaggeration. Dumbfounded, she took a step back and looked between the campfire an the wannabe-fish. "Hey Blair..." Raph called out behind to her. "Come here and tell me if this makes any sense to you."

Blair sighed in relief as she noticed her friend. "Oh good, you scared me. Next time wait until I'm awake before you go exploring." She said, still relieved as she walked over and looked over the wall. "Hm? Whats this all about? How did you even find this Raph, honestly." She said as she looked close before pausing. "This is somewhat eerie no? Campfire people just like us. Not sure I get the next one with the fish..."

Giving a chuckle, she replied "Is it for the fish we ate last night? Or symbolizing that we are on a water, concealed rock?” Raphael then turned and examined the rest of the wall though it was clean of any mars. Taking a step back, she then looked around the rest of the cave. “Though I have no doubt that this was made naturally, something about these carvings and the odd shape of the rocks make it seem like there was some...sentient help involved…”trailing off, a smile began to dance upon her lips. “Just imagine a fish with a hardhat and pickaxe swinging away at these stones.”

Blair frowned before slowly laughing, "I just can't keep a straight face with that image in my head. Thanks a lot now." She said looked at the wall. "Even so its a safe haven for now. But I think these are so strange. The others look so much older than these two...it really makes me feel uneasy." She said looking around then paused. "Oh now that I think about it I felt really uneasy with the water and partly like we were being watched or something." She paused and looked at the screen and smiled. "But on well who knows. I mean it could just be how I am." She shrugged. "All in my head."

(Wasn't sure if you wanted to introduce them or not.)

Raphael nodded "Well we are in an unfamiliar place so that could easily be the reason. Or..." She walked over and picked up a few of the bones left from the fish they had eaten last night. "Or maybe this guy's come back to haunt you!" With a grin she circled around her friend making ghost noises.

The rest of the day was quite uneventful, gathering more fire kindling and another fish for later. Yet later that night when Raph offered to stay up for first watch, she was staring into the fire when a soft scraping sound could be heard from the far corner of the cave. Frowning, she was about to stand before the fire was snuffed and a two silhouettes jumped upon them. “Blair!” Raph yelped before attempting to draw her blade which ultimately ended with a large form slamming her body into the wall behind her. As groan escaping her lips, Raphael attempted to get the wind she had just lost back into her lungs as the attacker then took an item out if somewhere and slammed it down into her neck with a bit more force than necessary. Her first thought was that they are were trying to kill them, but as her vision dimmed, Raphael realized that death would have been a much better option in this situation.

Blair shook her head at Raphael's attempts, though she still smiled. There was a reason they were friends and still were friends.

After most of the day was done, Blair let Raph take the first watch. She got comfortable and tried to sleep, wondering how long they would be stuck here, or if this place would really be the end of them.

Blair woke just as she felt someone jump her, she tried to reach for her pistols but she was at a disadvantage from trying to sleep. She had been easily pinned, which shamed her considering this was something she could have been prepared for. She struggled under their attacker and looked around trying to see anything. She could only hear scuffling and what sounded like Raphael. "Raph?! Raph!" She called only to feel something come down on her, causing her to pass out. The last thing she thought was that this was all the end. They had died on this planet because of a stupid dare. They should have never come to this place...

Raphael awoke to the unpleasant feeling of taking water instead of oxygen. Struggling, she was soon allowed to lift her head out of what she could now say was a small pool. Retching up most of the liquid she had taken, Raph tried to catch her breath before being forced to her feet by someone she had yet to see. Half walking half having been pushed down the torch lit stone hallway, all she could smell aside from the stench of wet rock and burning seaweed was fish. And a whole hell of a lot of it too. Yet, as she recalled they were stranded on a planet covered in water, she cussed under her breath.

They walked, and by they meaning Raph and she assumed some sort of sentient, bipedal fish, for a few more moments until the hall seemed to widen then finally open up into a large cavern. Two pools lined the sides of an stone path that lead up to what she assumed to be a leader of whatever this was. She was pushed a bit further until one final shove sent her stumbling and ultimately slipping on the wet floor, landing quite embarrassingly on her face. ‘First impressions are always lovely…’ Raphael thought bitterly to herself before sitting up and being quite surprised at what she saw. Most of those gathered in the room were clearly either resembling an aquatic mammal or fish whether being bipedal or not. Yet the one sitting at the head of the room at which she was currently staring at didn’t appear so, well not at first. He looked relatively young, give or take a early twenties in age. And the first thing that popped into her mind when she saw him was stereotypical surfer dude. Tan skin, shaggy blond hair, well muscled yet lean. It was as if he had a handbook to follow her something. “And to whom do I have the pleasure of speaking to?” he asked, making Raph regain a bit of focus. His voice was a bit deeper than she expected but nevertheless she opened her mouth to reply when she paused. A sarcastic answer would be the perfect excuse to gut her. “Raphael. How about you?” she asked, her tone relaxed but a bit forced. Grinning, his teeth now shown to interlock. “Tiburon. Leader of the last active tribe.” Rolling her eyes, Raph responded. “Okay, listen shark boy.” she continued noting the disappearance of Blair. “If you would be so kind as to tell me where my friend is before continuing on with your ritualistic killing, that would be greatly appreciated.” Tiburon let out a half mocked laugh “As for your friend...we agreed to give her to the rest of our race we call the ‘evolutionists’. Wanting to stray from their ancestors ways and use technologies to assist with daily life! All utter madness...as for ritualistic killing, we had decided against it and continue a tradition that had almost been lost to the ages.” Looking thoughtful for a moment, the shark then asked “I look different than those I command, do I not?” Raph blinked, “Are you trying to test my intelligence or my patience?” “Just answer the damned question.” “Then yes, you're appearance is quite stark in comparison to the others.” Cocking his head, a smile playing upon his lips as he continued. “And why do you think I hold such human-like aspects?” Putting two and two together, she opened her mouth to speak yet was cut off. “It is tradition, that any sentient being of a race other than our own is to either carry if female or fertilize the egg if male of one the offspring that was the product of this last.” As Tiburon got off of his throne like structure, the beads that had been woven into his lengthy, sun bleached hair softly ticked against each other. Standing as well, Raphael casted him a questioning glare. “What the hell makes you think that I'm going to carry your child?” “Oh, so you really aren't attracted me?” Softening her gaze, she moved to where she was extremely close him, the stench of fish suffocating. His eyes lit up with excitement as she murmured “Do you want to know the advantage of having robotic limbs?” And before another word could be spoken, Raph sent a kick straight towards his groin. As he doubled over and his guard neared her, she felt along her belt and drew her remaining sword. (It is apparent that his minions aren’t that smart for not stripping her of all weaponry.) Exposing the blade, she sighed. “No amount of flexing or flirting is going to let you fuck me.” Tiburon let out a growl, “What are you morons doing?!” and with that they rushed her. The spears weren’t the hardest thing to combat, seeing as she could slice through the wooden shaft as if it were butter.

Raphael easily fought them off for a few more moments until Tiburon stood with a painful groan. This distracting her just enough to be overwhelmed. Giving up on weapons, they decided to tackled her instead, getting enough men to hold her down. The shark went over and picked up her sword that had been kicked away from her. “Well, looks like there's a bit convincing involved than usual.” And with that he brought the blade down upon her arm, removing her robotic limb up to her shoulder. Yes they are prosthetics but they are advanced enough to allow the users to feel things such as heat, frost, the texture of surfaces, pain. So in short, as her arm got cut off, it felt as if it was her actual arm being cut off because it was...if that made any sense. Letting out a cry of pain, she tried to struggle from the many fish that held her in place. But, as her other arm got severed from her shoulder, it was clear that she wasn’t getting out. The pain being unbearable as her mind attempted to comprehend what had just happened. And as the plasma of the blade collided with her left leg, she fell unconscious.

@FoxxyDemon (Ima continue after you post ^^)

Blair woke up coughing in what seemed like maybe a cell with oxygen. It was different for sure but what she saw outside was a bit more shocking than she tech she was trapped in. After a few moments someone noticed her and swam over to her looking her over before swimming away.

"The human is a awake!"

"Good, good." Replied someone.

Blair could hardly hear them and it felt like she could hardly see them as well. Though it might have been just her.

"Too bad we didnt get the other one. Her limbs were perfect to study. But we will make due. One subject is better than none."

Blair listened in but after that the talking got low and hard to hear. She frowned and just tried to figure out a way out of this without killing herself in the long run.

(sorry if its lame.Im thinking of more for after your post.)

Raphael awoke to...various things. First and foremost, the oh-so-familiar feeling of having been dismembered. Yeah she had been before though it wasn't to this extreme, just ripping open an ancient wound literally and metaphorically speaking. Tiburon had gotten a bit excited with both of her legs chopped off mid thigh as well as her arms a bit below the shoulder. It wasn't close enough to cause bleeding but enough for severe pain and lack of mobility.

The second was a bit unnerving. As Raph opened her eyes, she noticed someone standing near the other end of the small, torch lit cavern. She couldn’t make out much more than a silhouette, though it was definitely female. Frowning, she attempted to lean forward to try and get a better look when falling over onto her side with a yelp. I don’t know about you, but trying to get back up without any support from arms or legs is kinda difficult. Not being able to return to her previous position, Raph huffed a hefty sigh of defeat.

Moments later, the figure that had been standing in the doorway shifted. Moving towards her it seemed. Entering the light, she could now see that her spectator was somewhat different than the rest of the wonderful bunch that was the tribe. Her skin holding only the faintest hue of blue unlike the painted look the others of her race held. Eyes of a rich brown, bulging less from her skull with long braided hair to match. The woman’s neck was lined with gills and she wore a simple, assumed waterproof, pale hide bra and garment that reminded her of some type of loincloth though it was a bit longer or something. “I’m assuming you need a bit of help?” “Oh, what made you think that?” Raphael responded with a sarcastic yet somewhat pleading tone. Walking over, she awkwardly pulled her back into a sitting position. “And I thought I had it bad…” her visitor murmured. Cocking her head a bit, Raph asked “How so? Are women not treated with respect?” Shaking her head, she responded. “No they are, possibly with a bit too much. But I’m not really a...native…” With a frown, she then asked slowly “So...either the planet makes you or this tribe has some magical voodoo shit up their metaphorical sleeves.” The woman remained silent, though there was some confirmation of what Raph had said within her eyes.

A few moments later, Miss mystery began to drag her towards what she assumed to be the exit of the cave they were in. Giving a cry of protest, there wasn’t much she could do. “I’m trying to help you. Or would you rather let Tiburon have a bit more fun.” not needing an answer, the fish continued to awkwardly maneuver the limb-less woman over to what Raphael now saw as a whole leading down into what she assumed an endless depth of ocean. Opening her mouth to continue a wave of disapproval was a poor choice because before a sound escaped her lips, she was plunged beneath the surface. The water rushed in her mouth and filled her now sodden lungs. Unable to swim she let herself slowly sink, a terrified expression painted upon her face. Moments later, you could imagine what had happened due to lack of oxygen.
