He had always been a simple soul, he had never strayed to far from where he had been born. He had been born in a small town in the back country in a town of only 106 people, where secrets didn't stay secrets for very long, and every one knew everyone. Of course like any other neighborhood their were crimes but they were so rare that one would know who the criminals were as word went really quick around the grapevine. Since he had grown up in a small town he knew nothing other then that small town and really felt uncomfortable when he went out of town. It was necessary though as there was only one other person his age in town, and they were already married. He was often alone at his house as he worked a job that was primarily online. He still got paid well and all but he still didn't feel like he was doing everything that he really was capable of.

Like any other night after he got finished with his daily work he sat at his dinner table looking at his plate it was a simple meal he often made for himself. He rarely had any guests because they were often bus with their own life and had almost no time to care about another person's life. He sat there and chased a pee around his plate thinking about something but he really didn't know what exactly. He usually did this as he spent a lot of time by himself. This of course made him extremely awkward in social situations. It didn't help that he had mild Aspeger's syndrome, it wasn't bad but it made it even harder for him to go out and live a full filling life.

Like any other evening that he spent by himself he felt a tugging in his gut and winced at it. It hurt but nothing was physical as he had gotten the doctor to look at it. The doctor had told him all it was, was simply a heartache for the lack of a better term, what the doctor meant was all that was wrong with him was that he was lonely and craving companionship. He had this at an early age as well. He had never really had a true relationship in his life, that made it only harder on him as he never knew what body language meant. He had a hard time figuring out what it meant, he also didn't know how to make a person happy, all he knew how to do was how to make himself happy. That wasn't particularly difficult, but it still didn't mean anything to him, he for the lack of a better term craved interaction with another person, but being in a small town in the back country it wasn't exactly easy.

This evening it was worse then it had been before and as a last minute decision he decided to head up to a larger city in search for something to distract himself with. As he drove into the city it became evident that he would have to make a detour as the road was under repair. He frowned and turned off onto a side road and drove on. Like any other detour he had to do it ended up with him arriving at the beach of all places. Frowning hard wondering how he had even managed to make it to the beach instead of the city. Shrugging he opened the door and closed it behind him and locked the car again. He breathed out and watched as the mist from his warm breath float and disappear.

It was a chilly night, nothing to unbearable, but just in case he opened the trunk and pulled a simple denim jacket from it and lightly shut the trunk again. He buttoned the jacket up and pushed his hands in the pockets and withdrew them repeating the process emptying the pockets of lint. Satisfied now he walked onto the beach and breathed out in a rush amazed by the beauty of the beach. It was a clear night and the stars studded the sky like diamonds. The moon like a pearl hung in the middle of the sky, the sight was breathtakingly beautiful.

His mind began to wander as he walked the beach, he soon sat down and laid back looking at the sky marveling in it's beauty. He wondered in the back of his mind if he would ever be able to find a partner in life as breathtakingly beautiful as the nighttime sky. Pushing the thought away as it was preposterous as he was an average Joe, nothing special about him and he figured that no one would pay much mind to someone like him. He sat up and then stood dusting his backside up with a few brushes. He began to walk back to his car when he caught what he thought what might be the smell of lavender on the air. Perplexed he turned around and looked for the possible source of the scent. Not seeing anyone or anything he shook his head perplexed, lavender was one of his most favorite scents as he grew up around farms that grew the strong smelling plant. Of course he fell in love with the smell. Walking slowly again towards his car his mind strayed to wonder again where the smell had come from. He again turned walking backwards to see if he could see anything that may have been the source of the smell. Again not seeing anything he looked around, and this time he did see an outline of something on the beach, stopping to strain his eyes to discern what it was he stood there for a good minute before he was able to tell it was a person on the beach like he was walking on it.

Deciding not to interrupt their solitude he walked on. In the darkness lie a hole in front of him, of course it was in the shadow so he was unable to see it before he had his foot in it and his weight crashing down on it. He felt the pop in his ankle as he hit the ground and bit back a sharp cry of pain as he withdrew his ankle to inspect it. Sure enough not even a minute passed before it began to swell. He gingerly touched it experimenting, he withdrew his finger as the pain was unbearable. He knew then he was in a tizzy as he wouldn't be able to do anything with the sprained ankle.

He looked up and back to where he had seen the other person. Then against his better judgment he decided to call out to them for a hand. “ HEY! OVER HERE!” As he yelled at the person he waved his arms to draw their attention to where he was sitting in the shadow of a dune. He hoped that they had noticed him calling out to them otherwise he would be stuck here for the rest of the night. He also new that if he did stay here he would risk not only getting sick but also not getting found the next day. As he thought of this he began panicking as his brain processed this as he then figured if they did not come to help him that he may very well end up dying.

The thought scared him badly and he began waving frantically at the figure hoping that they would be able to find where he was at. He then thought that they had noticed but didn't know where he was at since he was in the shadow of the dune so he continued to call out to them. “ I'm over here! Please help me! Don't leave me please.” His calls began to sound desperate as it seemed that the person wasn't heading his pleas and as it seemed they didn't come he slowly stopped and sat back wincing and hoped that someone would come. He looked back to see if he could see the figure and disappointingly saw no one. “So this is how I'm going to die huh? Like my life, I die alone, what a sad tale my life was, no one will even be bothered by my death.”

He chuckled darkly as he looked back up at the sky, and he again caught a trace of lavender in the breeze and he smiled to himself. It wasn't such a bad way to go but in the back of his mind he did regret a lot of things like how he had died alone, he had never really understood what true love was.

He would never know a lot of things and that hurt him in a way and he looked back to the sky and again smelt the lavender again he chuckled darkly and thought what a cruel trick this is, some one is out here but they won't come to help me out and now I will die here alone in the shadow of this dune. I feel like the only other person in the world if I think about it. It feels so peaceful yet still I hurt for all those wonderful things in life that I will never have. A wife, my own child, the feeling of success when they graduate, the feeling of being proud as they walk down the aisle, the wonder of holding a grandchild, the feeling of growing old together with the one person I love. So many things I will miss if I die here, so many regrets... so many questions... What have I done to merit this sort of death? Who have I wronged in life? What could I have done to live a better life before coming to this point.

Suddenly he broke out laughing in amazement, why was he even thinking of all of this sentimental crap? It wasn't like him at all, but who wouldn't do the same in this situation? He turned his gaze back to the sky and ran his hand through his hair as he watched the mist from his breath float and disappear. “Like the mist I too might disappear unnoticed...” He sat up again and looked around and shivered, “Why does it have to be so blooming cold?” He had started talking to himself maybe to give himself a reason to keep going but he just sat their thinking again wondering when his time would come, now or later? He turned his watch so that it caught the moon light, he checked the time and noted simply that it was going to be at least 5 more hours until the sun rose, but the question was how long he was going to be able to last.

((i won't make a skelly as i will decribe my character in detail throughout the rp.))

Can't see the picture...
The moon shown bright, the night was clear as a young woman tended to the rooftop greenhouse that belonged to her apartment complex. Her job as a scientist had come from her love of plants, even her hair was a beautiful forest green. She did not at all mind the looks she was given, or what people thought of her. If they liked her, they were a friend, if they didn’t, it didn’t matter. It wasn’t that she didn’t like people really, just that she was not used to social interaction with anyone outside of her scientific studies. She never was good at socializing, and tended to let logic, or laws or science get in the way of jokes or fun. Humor ended for her with “that’s not physically possible because….” or “I don’t get it”. Just because her calling was plants did not mean that was all she knew. She was intelligent on many levels, and in a sense too smart to understand more common people. For this reason she spent a lot of time alone. She didn’t always consider herself alone, she had her plants with her, and sometimes that’s all she needed.

She finished tending to the flowers and stepped out of the greenhouse, the evening wind ruffling her hair a bit. She went back down a few floors into her higher than average class apartment. It wasn’t her job as a scientist that gave her enough to live in such an apartment, but the 4-5 patents on plant fertilizers and insect repellents she had made. She could grow flowers vibrant and healthy with the formulas she had discovered, while keeping bugs from eating them using simple, non toxic chemicals so safe a baby could drink them and only be affected by the assuredly wretched taste. Her inventions, made her moderately wealthy, so she chose to live in the only apartment complex in the city she knew to have a green house.

As she had a glass of ice cold water and cleaned up with a hot shower, something compelled her to slip into some regular clothes instead of sleep wear. She thought maybe she would have another night of insomnia. Rare as they were, she could usually tell when they were coming, which warranted a walk on the beach outside of town to wear herself out a bit.

She slipped on a warm coat, grabbed her wallet and keys and headed out to her little green Mini Cooper. She climbed in the driver’s seat and drove off towards the beach where she usually walked at night, a small flashlight in her pocket. She pulled up near the beach, and climbed out of her car. She walked down by the water, but not close enough to get wet. The evening air was even colder when there were no trees or buildings keeping the wind at bay. As she listened to the waves lapping at the shore her breath came out in puffs of white. The moon reflected off the low evening waves, cause the the light to sparkle and dance. The young woman let out a quiet ‘tch’ wondering how it was that someone like her could become poetic with her thoughts. She was a woman of logic and science, and nothing else really mattered to her.

She let out a small yawn, and decided it was time for her to go back home for some rest, however she thought she heard something. She stopped, and listened. She heard a voice, someone calling for help. She couldn’t begin to imagine who would be doing anything that would cause them to need help at this time of night. She looked in the direction of the voice as she reached into her pocket. She flipped on her high powered, compact, LED flashlight, pointed it towards the ground and walked towards the voice, point it up every so often till she could see a figure.

“Hello? What happened?” she saw a man sitting on the ground near a large dip in the sand, the remnants of a sandcastle, likely made by children earlier in the day, strewn everywhere. She also saw that his was sitting as though to keep any pressure away from his ankle. He was shivering, and not wearing appropriate clothes for the temperature.

“are you visiting? Anyone in this area whose lived her for a year or more knows better than to go out without a coat this time of year.” she said, draping her coat over his shoulders. It was a bit small since she was a small built woman, however it would have to suffice for now.

“do you need a ride? It’s not my place to have you leave your car here however… you should probably have your ankle iced and seek medical attention in the morning.” She asked, pointing the flashlight at his wounded ankle. She didn’t much care to see the face of a stranger, it wasn’t necessary to know who he was right away, just so long as she helped him.

He sighed in relief as the what seemed to be young woman walked up to help him and he laughed, “Well evidently I either fell in a hole or found that sandcastle as you can see.” He jerks his thumb towards the castle and manages a grin. “And actually I am not visiting I just got lost and ended up here I had planed this to be a simple walk on the beach to clear my mind so I can think. And I honestly don't care if I leave the rust-bucket here as I was already thinking about selling it and buying something new, and I think it may be broken knowing my luck.” He nodded his thanks when she draped her coat around his body. Now that he thought about it he was very cold he rubbed his arms and looked up at her.

Of course he couldn't see her face and when he had tried to see her face it was masked by the cover of darkness. “I would love a ride but I have no friends in the area and I do live about 3 and half hours from here... I hate to impose on you as a stranger but would you mind if I slept over at your place for the night?” He thought about it for a second and rubbed his hands against the cold. “I don't know if you can believe me but I have no dishonest intentions as all I simply am is an account manager for a company that deals with scientists who do biological studies.” Suddenly he rolled over and placed his knees in the sand and began to crawl out of the shadow of the dune until he got back to the parking lot where his car stood alone. He opened the car and retrieved his laptop bag and a few other necessities and stuffed them back into the bag and crawled back.

He returned with bloody knees and his face set in determination. “Alright i'm now set shall we be on our way...? Or do you want to question me of a sort until I break or so?” He grunted as he put his foot on the ground and stood up on it and grunted again. He wasn't making a show of bravado, he didn't feel like having to burden the small woman with his weight, as he stood her coat slipped from his back and he deftly leaned back and caught it and bit back a curse as he did so. He then placed the coat around her shoulders again. “ You'll get sick a lot quicker then I will I just need to keep moving and no i'm not trying to be a man I just don't think you'll be strong enough to drag me so while I can walk I will and when I can't I will crawl the rest of the way.” He bent through his knee as he walked on biting a curse back when he hit the ground and he rose again walking forward a few steps before falling again in another hole this time a deffent snap could be heard as a flow of curses flowing after it.

“Gah damnit I fucked up this time.... Another thing to add to my list of things I fucking hate. Motherfucking sandcastles” He sounded enraged. “absolutely WONDERFUL!” a audible groan could be heard as he investigated by touch what he broke. It wasn't the lower leg bones which worried him as he ran his hand up his thigh he groaned in pain as he encountered a bump halfway up his thigh. He gingerly poked it and with drew his finger quickly. It was broken quite badly and now he had absolutely no way of moving now. He looked over to where she was still standing and sighed. “And now you can just leave me here if you want as I doubt you can think of a way to help me out so... no regrets huh?”

Temperance listened and watched. she couldve made attempts to stop the odd man, couldve protested against him putting himself in pain, however despite helping people she never was the most compassionate. she didnt communicate well and honestly thought people should learn to look out for their own well being instead of launching themselves straight into harms way.

"you're not very bright" she said as he came back having bloodied his knees. she watched him stand and allowed him to put the coat back over his shoulders. "im not so weak i would get sick easily either, so your concern is unfounded." she said. another Temp-ism. she would say such things as 'no need for concern' or 'i dont need your help' rather then thanking people for any kindness or concern.

She watched him attempt to walk, starting to open her mouth(too late it seemed) as he approached the sandcastle again, and watched him fall. she heard a disturbing crack, and assumed him to have broken something. a line of colorful obscenities escaped from his mouth as he examined his own wound, and Temperance merely pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration.

"this is what you get for being impatient. this has nothing to do with the sand castle, and everything to do with your obvious lack of common sense." she said in a rather defeated tone. "you shouldve let me lead, im the one with the flashlight, not only that, but i couldve assisted you as a replacement for a crutch. just because im small does not make me weak, i know two forms of martial arts." she knelt beside him, also examining his leg with a gentle hand.

"let me help you up. if we dont get you into my car right away, we may not get you there at all. once the initial shock of the break wears off you're going to be in extreme pain. its no small feat to break the largest, strongest bone in the human body." she said, the scientific wheels in here brain obviously turning now. she offered a hand, knowing full well that he had no choice but to use her as a crutch, otherwise he would run the risk of getting fracture bone fragments moved around, only causing him more pain.

Tsundere through and through your character... it's a Japanese term for a person who has a hard time showing their emotions thought i'd show my knowledge on anime with you))

Well i couldn't help but be in a rush as i know how my body works which is why i tried to push my self so i could hurry up and get off of my and yes i know my logic is flawed in your opinion for not having let you led the way but i had to keep on going other wise i wouldn't have been able to go anywhere. And i know it is no feat but i seem to be cursed with the worst of luck here lately, actually i lied about the job as i looked and i was just recently fired and evicted from my apartment because it's getting torn down so now no place to live no job no nothing evidently the world must hate me round about now... and thanks for imparting that knowledge to me, let's get moving on before i really end up dying it wouldn't matter anyway no one really notices me anyway..." He heaved a sigh and rocked back on his good leg and pushed off from it an gripped her shoulder tightly and hopped about a few times trying to get used to the small framed woman.

He looked down at her. " Thanks can we get going now?" It had become evident now although before it was less evident he had an accent of sorts which showed that he wasn't originally from the area and probably hailed from so place foreign. Even though he was a thin as a tooth pick he still had a good grip and muscle tone from haven done a lot of hard work around the house and then a lot of volunteer work through out his life after that. His legs were very noticeably toned better then the rest of his body which might add to some confusion to how the bone had broke if he had such well toned muscles. The muscles of course came from cycling since the calves and the femur muscle...((i really don't know the name >.< sorry)) that and swimming as he usually always only used his legs when he swam so he had unusually well built lower body when his upper body seemed neglected.

He looked down at the woman and noticed for te first time the odd color of her hair. Of all colors it was a deep forest green which mystified him in a way as he knew no way that hair could come to that color and why she had chosen that color. Disregarding the question forming on his lips he eased his grip on her shoulder as he gained his balance. He looked down at her and smiled tightly his accent very prominent now, "Can we please get moving before i end up on the ground howling in pain because i know that as soon as the adrenaline wears off i won't be able to move an inch, and if you are as strong as you think you are then you might have to end up dragging 75 kilos down the beach." He had accidentally said kilos but that had came more natural to i'm at the moment. He hopped a little bit forward and waited a little bit for her as he began to hop about on his single good leg moving adeptly back and forth with it as he sprang surely forward keeping his eyes on the ground in front of him so he wouldn't fall again. " Maybe i should just start all over" He had tried to say that to himself but it had came out louder then he had hoped it to and he knew that she would have heard it as well and he really didn't care at the moment as he was now focused on getting to her car before the adrenaline faded.

Temperance gave a nod, "its best we get going, i guarantee your pain will be far worse if you start feeling it before we get in the car." she walked slow enough that he could hop without falling, listening to the waves lap at the shore. "by the way...i suppose chatting would ease the awkwardness?" she said, not wanting like an unhappy rescuer. she had communication problems, but that didnt mean she wasnt nice. "My name is Temperance Lynette, i do apologize about your job, perhaps as a good samaritan i could assist you with that as i am a forestry and plant biologist, essentially a deeper study of botany, which is why my hair is this color. i feel it expresses things that may harder to talk about." she stopped, hoping that he could understand her by the way she spoke. she had merely added the bit about her hair since she had seen him look

As they reached the car, Temperance pressed the button on the keys that hung on the belt loop of her jeans and she opened the passenger door. she assisted him in sitting as comfortably as possible when one had a broken femur. she walked around, getting into the drivers seat and turning on the little Mini Cooper. as they pulled away, she flipped on the head lights and decided to speak a little more. "please bear with me, i know oyu will be in pain but the nearest hospital is about 20 minutes away." she informed. "i will have someone come get your vehicle....scrap or not, you will need it once you get back on your feet again."

" I know that the pain is going to be unbearable soon, and i'm actually not that awkward as you seem like a nice enough person to be able to help out a random stranger. And that's a unique name Temperance... might there be any significance behind it? Ah but how might you be able to help me when i hardly can help myself now a days?" He wondered why she had yet to question him about his strange accent, but instead he guessed it would be a good idea to explain it himself as he hopped along with her. " Well Temperance, it is a pleasure to meet you, I'm Felix Marko Asjes. If you haven't figured it out yet i'm a forienger who hasn't lived here for 3 years yet. So i still have my accent, I first lived in Holland where i was born before moving around a little bit to some nearby countries before i figured that i should move over here since i knew i would have more opportunities here then i would have had back at home. Well i guess now i can start out on a fresh page now and go and do my real calling, to be a professional clothes designer," He laughs suddenly and looks down as they neared the parking lot. " Such a big dream for such small shoulders, right? I do have my ideas already but i don't have the money for the material nor the model to see how my ideas look... What an odd twist of fate, i get fired from my old job opening new possibilities for me yet i have no where else to turn how ironic."

As Temperance unlocked her car he noticed it too was green, he sulked inwardly she had found her passion and she was always living her life by doing what she loved. As he settled down in the car the bones settled and he almost immediately paled and he gripped the door handle as she got in the vehicle he clenched his teeth and nodded his appreciation for her thoughts and he sat then staring out the window at the road his mind in knots about what he should do where he should go and the like. he had barely comprehended that she had told him that the nearest hospital was 20 minutes away he just gritted his teeth harder as he sat there listening to the tires on the road when he breathed in through his nose and noticed the lavender again. he turned to her and looked at her curiously and smelt again it was her... " Do you like lavender? 'cause i smell it on you... Sorry for being weird about it but i just couldn't help but notice the smell." He closed his mouth after that and stared out the window again lost in his own busy thoughts when new designs for clothes began flowing through his mind. He quickly opened his bag and pulled out his note book and a small LED light and his pencil began to seemingly dance across the paper recording his ideas on it and the pages turned faster and faster as his ideas kept coming. Then he stopped and clenched his teeth and gripped the door handle again and put the notebook pencil and small light up again. Waiting for anything seemed like it took forever especially when you're anticipating it.

((my character is no tsundere, i assure you. im quite the otaku myself, just went to con a few weeks ago~ a tsundere would not only have trouble expressing themselves or deny feelings all together, but also have trouble understanding feelings are in the first place. Temp understands feelings very well, right down to the chemical reactions in the brain. she can also expression her feelings quite freely, just chooses not to because of her science-minded personality and her need for logical purpose.))

Temperance looked over at the injured man. she didn't find it odd that he could smell the lavender, there was a lot of it in her apartment complexes green house, and since she was the only caretaker it was likely to leave traces of the smell on her. "I actually dont use perfumes, the lavender is simply one of many floral scents that attach themselves to me during my work and also the care taking of the greenhouse on the roof of my apartment building." she flicked on her blinker and took a smooth turn into the city, the second half of the drive to the hospital was through downtown, to the opposite side of town. "i also do not wear makeup, such artificial things just cover up who we are. we are all born in such a way that is beneficial to use, and unique to us alone so i see no need to improve upon that." she said, her eyes darting from the road to his little book.

Temperance eased to a stop at every sign and light, being sure not to jostle the car or the injured man. "there is always somewhere to turn, you just dont always see it. the more you believe you can do something, the stronger you grow as a person. i obviously didnt start out two grade levels ahead of my peers, i studied for it, worked hard. if you really want to design clothes, look for people to help, look for buyers and a model...do what you have to do." she finished just as they pulled up at the hospital.

((geez you let me have no fun whatsoever spoilsport :x sorry about the cruddy post length but i'll make it a better next post then.))

"It reminds me of home and it is one of my most favorite things in the world to smell and i find it very relaxing." he leaned with the turning of the car so he wouldn't be bumped around and he contracted his hand muscles in restraint and listened as she talked on about the things and he nodded in agreement when she mentioned the makeup covering who the real person is." He listened to her story an nodded in understanding as she spoke of what she did and what he should do to keep going on in life.

"Well it is a thing to do and i know that i have to do it but how i will do it without a job, a house, or a school. Finding all of those will be the fun part and then after that then i have the problem of finding a person willing to modle the clothes that i make." He put the the notebook back into the messenger bag as she pulled up into the hospital and he sat there and looked at her. " I really don't know how i will ever be able to repay you ut i would love to one day be able to pay you back for all that you have done to help me out."

Temperance got out of her car, going around to Felixs side. She opened the door and offered her hand, leaning her shoulder down so he could get out with a but less pain. "as... unnecessary as my presence may be, i will wait till you've been treated before i leave." she offered as she hoisted him out of the car, allowing him to use her as a crutch again. "this may hurt a bit, but we will be in son." she helped him towards the doors, explaining to the receptionist the situation and allowing one of the doctors to take the injured man off her shoulders.

Temperance sat in the waiting room, delicately crossing her legs and pulling a notebook from her purse. she took down notes on plants and their growing process, continuing brainstorming on a new type of fertilizer she was working on developing. she waited patiently, wondering exactly how one in his situation would find a place to stay. it was odd and illogical, but Temperance had this feeling that she should help him. she didn't know him, and it was ludicrous for her to let a stranger into her home, but she felt she couldn't leave him to struggle on his own.

I'm sorry to ask you to help me with all of these things, and i appreciate your offer." He smiled at her one last time before they took him to the back to treat his injuries. As night wore on and after the x-rays he had bandages put on his knees and a brace on his ankle and was told to come back after his knees healed so that they could put him in a full leg cast. As they lectured him on the way back on what to and not to do until he received his cast. Simply nodding in agreement to whatever they said he finally breathed a sigh of relief when he was finally out in the waiting room waiting for his discharge tapping slightly impatiently on the wheelchair's handle bar.

Looking around the waiting room he was surprised to see the person who had helped him out, looking at her properly for the first time he almost gasped at how small she was compared to him. Another surprise was her hair color, no one did their color that way it was almost unorthodox but he smiled. He liked her spirit and how she had helped him out. He shook his head knowing all he would ever be to her was that really odd guy she found at the beach. Caught up in is thoughts he wondered where he would stay as he had no house or relatives or even friends close by, sighing heavily he wracked his brain for answers to the now daunting question.

Temperance had gotten a significant amount of brainstorming notes written in her green flowered notebook. her writing became progressively messier as her mind start to fog up. her eyes drooped, and though she saw Felix wheeled out into the lobby, as he spoke with the receptionist Temps eyes dropped shut and her breathing became slow and steady. as much as she had tried to fight it she ended up falling asleep, not really realizing how late it had gotten.

"Daddy, do i have to go to cousin Silas' birthday party?"

"yes dear, he is family, and i want you to make some friends, ok?"

"but all of Silas' friend are computer geeks, and they dont find the process of photosynthesis interesting. why would anyone want to talk about silly computer anyway."

"Temperance dear, you cant go through all of middle school without making at least one friend."

"Friends are not necessary in life, only food, water, and shelter are."

~~~~~
"honey, im worried about Temperance, she wont make friends, and all she does is study. i know its a parents dream to have a child as smart as her, but she needs a social life."
"you know she wont agree to anything we ask. Emotions are about as necessary to her as computers are."
"I'm just afraid that she wont ever know any love other then ours, and wont find someone to rely on."
"well, perhaps we can coax her into going to her senior prom, we've got a whole year now. She's grown so much, im sure she would look beautiful in a gown."
Temperance twitched in her sleep as her dreams shifted to greenhouses, jungles and plants, her one and only friend and love.
@StarDust finally got around to it in the same way get around to lucerne too please))
As he finished up the paper he saw her head slump to the side and he was hard pressed to repress a smile, it was amusing to see her asleep like that. It reminded him of his mother and how she usually fell asleep back home, she was always doing a cross-word puzzle from the daily news paper with a stub that barely counted as a pencil. Thinking back to that time also brought up memories that he wished to have left buried. Shaking off the thought before he got sucked into it he rolled lightly around the seats to the main isle, when he got there he turned deftly around into the isle where Temperance was sitting... well sleeping now.
When he rolled in front of her he turned the chair around and looked at her face and smiled as he remembered his mother who had passed on already. As he thought of his mother the memories of his father surfaced as well and he couldn't stop them. The beatings, the lashings, the fights, his father killing his mother and then trying to kill him as well. As he remembered the last part he couldn't help but finger the scar on his neck, it was a straight clean cut that had barely missed his jugular and windpipe. At the time the doctors were amazed he had lived this long without dying. Reaching beside her he picked up his scarf and wrapped it around his neck and gently he touched her knee and shook it hoping to rouse her from her sleep. Not getting a response he shook harder, as he waited he shifted in the wheel chair trying to get used to how uncomfortable the thing was.
The doctor had forbade him from putting any weight on his legs for any foreseeable future as it would only harm his legs further and if he wanted to walk it was in his best interest to follow the doctor's orders. But now the question was what was he going to do for a place to stay while he recovered from his adventure on the beach. Remembering that he laughed a little, it was a bitter thought but also ironic how it had happened as well. Shaking his head he again tried to wake her this time tugging lightly on her arm.
Temperance twitched in her sleep again, her dreams growing fuzzy and fading away to the sounds of computer keys and heart monitors. her amber eyes opened slowly till they were looking into a pair of beautiful blues(correct eye color?). she let out a soft groan, then rubbed at her eyes. she had an interesting dream about her parents, remembering how much they wanted her to make friends. stuff like that wasn't really necessary for her though, she got along fine on her own. she knew that her parents loved her, but she also saw any other forms of love or attachment as chemical reactions in the brain. it was no wonder people thought her too smart for her own good.
"Felix...?" she mumbled in a sleepy voice. she gave a small jolt and sat up straighter, "oh Felix, I'm sorry, how long was i out?" in her surprise her speech became less formal. "ahem, do you need a ride anywhere?" she thought a moment, she recalled him saying he had no where to go, and hotels in this city were expesive even for her. "perhaps you need a place to stay till tomorrow?" she offered carefully, he didn't seem like a bad person, and in a wheelchair he couldnt do much so she figured the odd were on her side if anything were to happen.
"For probably a hour maybe two why?" (And yes right eye color) "And I hate to impose on such short notice i can probably find a cheap motel somewhere around here..." He sighed "You've already done more then enough for me so i don't know why i should take advantage of your offer. I already owe you my life now you want to make the debt worse?" He laughed at his statement and shook his head. "I should learn to live on my own two feet and not rely on other people to constantly give me a hand to help me up." He smiled sadly at her. "Maybe i should just go and find a person willing to give a guy a chance in life again, but i don't like imposing... besides who would help a hopeless wreck like me anyway? All i have is my drawing skill and possible designs which have little chance in making it anywhere." He looked at the dark starless sky.
"This is like a slump for me, all I have to do is find a way out of it on my own." He winced as a person bumped into his wheel chair jostling him a bit and his leg bent against the bindings and he had to grit is teeth. He went pale in pain in spite of the pain killers that he had been given. His eyes seemed to blank out for a second as he lost consciousness from the pain. As his eyes cleared he looked around like he had forgotten where he was. "... Where am I at?" Seeing this one of the nurses looked at him and waved a hand in his face which he didn't seem to register seeing. Concerned she held his face and looked into his face "What is your name?" she asked in a clear voice and all he did was look at her before he seemed to register the question. " A Felix... why?" the nurse breathed in relief and held up three fingers. "Alright how many fingers am i holding up?" He seemed to search for her fingers but couldn't find them. "Two?" the nurse shook her head exasperated, "He might have hit his head on something and be experiencing some sort of truma where he is unable to see for a period. Do you know if he has a place to stay?" he looked towards her voice and shook his head. "I have no place to go to... wait I do that is if you don't mind Temperance?"
