Realistic or Modern A Helping Hand

Vudukudu

Farseer to the Warsong Clan
People come to us when they're desperate. When they need someone to get them out of trouble, get someone else in trouble, or some of both.

Your boss is planning to burn down the business for insurance money? We'll deal with him. Run up a gambling debt with a loan shark? No problem. Got on the wrong side of the Mafia? We can handle it. Somebody stole your family heirloom? We'll steal it back.

The point is, we'll help you out, for a fee. We can go places the cops can't, we can do things the cops can't, we won't get caught doing it, and we will get it done.

The strong pick on the weak all too often. And, well, we're just here to give a helping hand to those who can't help themselves.

Marcus sighed and put the phone down, then took a seat behind his desk. Another caller with another lame job, just looking for some revenge for an imagined offense. It was surprising how much money people were willing to lay down to make up for some mild embarrassment, but it also wasn't worth his time when there were more important jobs to do.

His phone rang a few moments later, displaying a different number. He let it ring four times, something he did for every single call regardless of who it was, and then picked up.

"Hello. You've reached Mr. Tamarack."

The voice on the other line was quiet and hesitant, just like every other caller. "I.. I uh. I have a problem."

"And..?"

"I heard you're the kind of guy who fixes problems."

"Well what is it?"

"I think my boss is a murderer."

"Call the police?"

"Well.. That's the thing, sir. He is the police."

Marcus' eyes suddenly opened wide. A dirty cop, who was also ranked pretty high. This would be golden.

"Sir, you'll have to come down to my office. 2046, Bishop Court at 5 PM tomorrow." Marcus grinned, then hung up. Calling it his office was pretty inaccurate; it was his home. A fairly large apartment, more accurately. The front room served as his meeting room, and his team was welcome at any time.

He picked up his phone again, sending a text to each of his people. "Got us a job. Meet up at 5 tomorrow."

Tigra

Tigra was walking within the herds of people through the city. Pushing and shoving one another just to get where they need to be. Tigra was on her way home after a day at work. She continued to make her way through the crowd and picked up her walking pace. These people were seriously agitating her, the people of the crowd were simply shuffling/dragging their feet along the pavement of the sidewalk. She quickly pushed through the crowd so she could hurry up and get home before it gets dark. She wasn't afraid of being in the streets at night but simply didn't feel like being annoyed by the assholes that come out at night. Today she just wanted to get home, take a nice long hot bath, and relax herself both physically and mentally.

She arrived outside her apartment building after 25 minutes of walking. The moment she began trudging up the stairs she received a text message from Marcus. She quickly read the text before replying, 'Do u mean am or pm Marc.' She hit send and placed her phone back in her pocket before continuing to make her way up the stairs. Her apartment building was pretty modern but no one was allowed to use the elevator after a person hit the emergency stop button before raping and killing the other passenger who was trying to get home. Police came by often to further investigate the case, and every time they came by Tigra was right there observing their movements, how their speaking, their facial expressions everything. The day that happened she observed everyone in the building, by the time the day was over she'd already figured out who the culprit was. She even told the police who the culprit was but they simply laughed at her, so now she's going to sit back and watch them struggle and suffer while their searching. It doesn't pay to be rude and disregard others just because of their gender or appearance. The cops simply became her entertainment system.

Seeing that they were most likely not going to be there today Tigra continued her journey up the stairs. She walked up to the top floor and entered her apartment, 20c. It was a pretty big no but no where near the size of Marcus', and the apartments decor depended who she was at the moment, was she a school teacher, a banker, a rich mans mistress? All of those roles decided her decor the same rule applied when it came to her clothes. All those factors helped her slip into her new character.

Today she was just normal Tigra, so her apartment was filled with black, white, and few different tones of grey. She slipped off her boots at the front door and left them behind as she headed to the bathroom. 2 hours later she was laying down on her bed looking through the channels searching for something interesting to watch on television. She was bored at this point and wished tomorrow would come sooner before she went insane with her boredom.

Mati has been sitting in her apartment for the last 2 day. She had stayed awake through large amounts of caffine and sugar. Her fingers have gotten blisters on her fingers from the constant typing and her eyes were bloodshot. She had beenworking on getting through a near impossible firewall but eventually got access to it and all the little secrets. She recived the text from Marcus and when she finished on her computershe decided to get some sleep.

First she took a shower and put on a changeof clothes. She packed her satchel with all her nessecary equipment from her laptop and tablet down to some connecting wires. Mati fell on to her bed and fell asleep with a smile on her face feeling accomphlished with the work she had done.

Eli sat in her apartment living room, a small, old lock and a lock pick in her palms. Even though she was already talented at lock picking itself, she was bored so she decided to practice. Suddenly, the silence of her home is shattered by her phone vibrated noisily against the smooth, wooden table. She immediately noticed the text if from Marcus and quickly "slid to open".

"I got us a job. Meet up at 5 tomorrow," she read aloud. The light from her screen in the dark set her face aglow. She smirked and typed back," ok, sure thing. What's the job on and where do you wanna meet at?"

She hit send and and sat back in her chair, her excited smile staining her face.

"I thought you said he was out of town!" Bobby was trying to quickly put on his pants, his shirt was inside out, and he was hopping on one foot, looking at the naked red head in the bed. He stumbled and slammed into the wall, "Mother Fu-" He heard the car door of the Red Head's husband close. "Oh, Sugar."

"He was out of town! He must have come home early! Im so sorry Frank!"

"Frank, thats what my name is to her." Bobby smiled, "Its fine, normally I wouldn't freak out, but your husband is a very big man and Ive noticed he happens to own quite a few pistols." He finally got the second leg in and stuffed his socks into his pockets and slide on his converse, he heard the man coming up the stairs, he opened the window, which was only on the second floor.

"Just roll Big guy." He jumped out, hit the ground, rolled and stoop up limping a little as he jogged down the street. He felt his butt vibrate and jumped a little, looking at the flip phone Marcus had forced him to get, he opened it looking down at the unfamiliar contraption. "Meet up at 5." He shrugged and put the phone away, and then heard yelling from the window he just jumped out of.

"Oh I left the condom on the... shoot..." Bobby started to jog again away from the house and then tried to text Mati.

"hey cutd piecan i crasj at you rplbe" ("hey cutie pie can I crash at your place") Bobby happened to be in between homes currently.

Mati woke up from her zombie like sleep to go to the bathroom and get something to drink. She checked her family and saw that she got a text from Bobby. She responded "go right ahead, I'll leave the door unlocked but just don't touch my bag by the door." Mati sent it and went back to her deep sleep.

Tigra.

It was official Tigra was bored out of her mind. She was tired of just sitting around watching tv. She shut the tv off with a click of a button on her phone and began to think. When she finally came up with a idea, to go clubbing. She hopped up from her bed and swiped her phone off her dresser. She scrolled through her contact list and selected Matti and Eli's numbers and created a group chat. 'Hey Eli! Hey Matti! Are you both busy? If not wanna go out to a club with me?' She hit send after typing out a invitation to the two girls. She sauntered over to her closet and picked out a dress for the night. Not only did she have a day off from work tomorrow but like everyone else tomorrow was the day they received their new mission. She had too much energy from excitement and didn't care how she got rid of it. If the girls didn't want to go she'd still go herself but she still hoped they could.

She removed the dress from the closet, laid it out on the bed, chose her shoes and accessories, all before she strolled back into the restroom to take yet another shower. Less than 10 minutes later she was blow drying and brushing her naturally wavy soft chocolate brown hair. After her hair was done she slipped on her heels, clipped in her earrings, put on her black dress, applied a little bit of mascara on her long eyelashes, and dropped her phone into her matching purse. Her heels clicked along the white floors of her apartment as if to announce her departure. Before exiting the apartment she double checked to make sure she had her ID, money, phone, and stun gun on her. Seeing everything was in order she stepped out into the hall outside her apartment, locked her door, and strolled down the many flights of stairs.

Tigra felt that going up and down those 20 flights of stairs was amazing exercise to keep her in shape. Going down the stairs she didn't even break a sweat, she became acustomed to walking. On her way out she saw the same two officers walking out the building with the man she suspected did the crime in cuffs. "
Ahem!" She cleared her throat before walking over to the officers, "Wooow it seems like the little girl has a brain after all. I was correct or else you wouldn't be leaving this building with this man in cuffs am I right? And I must say it was quite entertaining to watch you two idiotic officers sit there and suffer while not getting a nights sleep while trying to find this man." She smirked and shook her head before continuing. "Oh and if only you both listened and didn't laugh. Maybe then you both wouldn't look like a pair of ancient artifacts. Maybe this will teach you a lesson officers, maybe next time you'll find a brain someone can rent you both so you can actually think correctly. Because surely you both need to be placed in

pre-school so you can learn the meaning of listen."
She shrugged as one of the officers was red with anger while the other was red with embarrassment. "Oh and another thing. This isn't a threat, but a warning. Don't laugh at little girls officers because if you do you may just be the next victim of a homicide case. A little girl may be warning you that some physcopath is planning to kill you. Remember that." She stated bluntly with a frigid tone in her voice. She smiled as the man who was red with embarassment walked out the building placing the suspect in the vehicle while the other looked as if he would lurch at her any second. She looked at the angry officer and walked closer to him, "Hmmm. Do you want to hit me? Did I make you mad? Hit me if you like, but then again you'll be placed behind bars for a very looooooong time. Don't you think. Oh! Or do you just want to wrap your grimy fingers around my neck? Huh? Don't you. You just want me dead, just because I am younger than you, a female, and I was completely right while you were wrong." The man only got redder and a few veins could be seen popping out from the temples of his head. She smiled once more before spinning around and sauntering out the building with a simple, "Have a nice night officer." The man was shaking uncontrollably with anger as she left satisfied with showing officers that they need to use their resources and hints, all of them. She loved acting but at the same time she liked to read people and get into their minds. It was so simple yet so fun and addicting. She began walking through the streets again heading towards a club where if Eli and Mati wanted to hang with her they could meet her there.

Eli's phone hummed again as she picked it up. She smiled at the text Tigra sent, inviting her out to a club. She texted back,"I'm in!" And quickly stood up to get ready. At the moment, she lounged in her sweats, not even bothering to put on a bra under to sweater.

She walked to her bathroom and brushed her teeth. She then got undressed to take a shower and wash her hair. She stepped out and wrapped a towel around her dripping body. 'Time to pic something out...' She thought to herself as she looked trough her clothes like files. She easily picked out a cute, strapless light blue dress and began to get dressed, applying her makeup on afterwards.

Once finishing getting ready and doing a few twirls in front of the mirror, she walked back to the dinning room table to text Tigra and Mati. "Ready! Wear do you want to meet up?" With that, she sent a super cute selfie. She grabbed her hand bag and waited for a reply.

Tigra.

Tigra once again was caught within the sea of people walking to get from place to place. The only difference is that theirs more drunks, addict, pickpockets, muggers, thugs, and straight up pigs out now. The drunks liked to bother people, the addicts begged for money or stole. The pickpockets, thugs, and muggers did their thing as the pigs felt up different women and sexually harassed them knowing that everyone's ultimate goal is to get where they need to be before something happens to them.

Tigra always walked. She hates the cabs in this city, she can't stand them at all. The young woman let's her two feet lead the way to wherever she needs to go. She knows she'll finally arrive at her final destination one way or the other. Tigra felt her phones vibrations on her hand as she securely gripped her clutch. She walked into a cafe and took a seat so she could stop and text the girls back. She read the message she received and replied,
'The best place in the city, Marquee. Their suppose to have JLO or Pitbull or someone like that preform tonight of I'm not mistaken. I'll text you when I get there I'm another 5 minutes away. You both do the same k. Also I wanna warn you ahead of time, I pissed off a cop and embarrassed the hell out of him and his partner so let's try our best to steer clear of cops tonight make sure you both bring your ID k. Invite whoever else you want just make sure they know to stay on the low with cops tonite 2. See ya there.' She hit send dropped her phone back into her clutch and removed herself from where she was seated.

She strolled out the cafe and went back to moving along the streets of the large city that will eat you alive if your not careful. Like she said she was 5 minutes away from the club so she arrived in 5 minutes. The young woman showed her ID before entering the large club booming with music filled with numerous people and celebrities. She walked over to the bar and ordered a glass of straight scotch. She quickly typed out a message alerting the others that she's at the club located by the bar before drowning her glass of scotch. She can't hold her liquor too well but knew that as long as she didn't fight she'd be fine. She ordered another round and drowned that one down as she waited.

Eli smiled at her phone and immediately headed out of the apartment, turning off the lights and locking the door. Once exiting her luxury apartments building, she was once again hit by the business if the city. She smiled to herself as she made her way to Marquee. She planned on having a good time and it would happen one way or another.

About 10 minutes of shoving and being shoved, she arrived at Marquee. It's bright neon sign stood out from the rest. The club was rather crowded but Eli could easily pick Tigra out from the groups. "Tigra!" She called happily to her.

Marcus' eyes were bloodshot and empty. He had been up for almost a full two days by now, and it was getting to him. Insomnia was hell, and he had been living through it for years now. He had been getting paler and paler by the day, more and more sickly looking. He lived for work, and it had been weeks since anything good had come up.

But this, this call. Maybe it would turn everything around for him. At least, that's what he was counting on. However, counting anything was getting pretty difficult at this point, as he had just exhausted his stash of bourbon and gin. He knew he shouldn't have drank it all, but there wasn't anyone around to stop him. No team member to harass him for his irresponsibility, no friend to call him out on his self-destructiveness.

The world grew hazier, and Marcus' head finally fell to the desk. Everything went black, and for the first time in what felt like years he managed to fall asleep. Fortunately for the others, they each had a key to his place and wouldn't need him to answer the door, as he likely would not wake up before the 5 PM meeting unless someone else woke him.

Tigra.

Tigra heard Eli's voice and scanned the room for her. As soon as the woman was spotted Tigra smiled and hopped up from her seat with her fourth drink of the night. "Eli!" She cheered and ran over to her. She immediately have her a quick hug before saying, "Come on let's get you a few drinks before we go off to dance." She stated already dragging Eli through the crowd back to the bar.

She drowned her fourth glass of scotch before asking for another. She left her card on file so she wouldn't have to constantly go get money from her clutch. She turned to Eli and asked,
"Eli what do you want to drink? This round is on me." She smiled already begining to find some man they can sucker into paying the bill for the remaining amount of drinks they want.

Tigra already began to stumble from the alcohol pulsating through her body. She was glad she could still think straight, so she drowned a fith glass before placing the glass on the counter and telling the bartender a mere
"Thank you for the drinks."

Bobby found his way to Mati's apartment and closed the door behind him as walked in. He looked at the bag by the door and wanted to peek in, but decided against it. This was more or less the only constant couch he had to sleep on, and it was super comfortable. He walked into the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water before sitting on the couch. He looked around at all the electronics and shrugged, he never understood peoples fascination with electronics. He hated the flip phone he had. Bobby empty his pockets and took his shirt up before laying down and staring at the ceiling. He smiled and started to count sheep. He reached 37.

Eli laughed at Tigra's excitement as she dragged her to the bar. She offered to pay for her drink and she smiled gratefully. "Hm.. Lets go for some Tequila. I'm feeling daring," Eli answered, a playful smirk staining her face.

(shorty mcshortshort)

Tigra.

Tigra smiled and ordered the tequila for Eli. She turned to Eli handed her the drink and said, "Eli remember we have to play it safe tonight. Nothing more than basic tricks to get free drinks." She reminded her before continuing, "Anyway, did you here from Mati? She's been all MIA these past two days." Tigra didn't order anymore drinks for herself since didn't want to get drunk before even hitting the dance floor.

Eli took a sip of her drink, letting the familiar burn in her throat come and go. "Hm. No, I haven't. I hope she's alright." Eli said as she pursed her lips. "Did she ever reply to the texts you sent?" Eli asked, pulling out her phone from her handbag.

Tigra

Tigra shook her head, "No that's why I was asking you, and don't worry she most likely is still breathing, just probably asleep. All well." She shrugged knowing that there was a large possibility Mati's been up to no good, hacking into different softwares and systems. "Anyway lets forget our worries and dance till our feet hurt or we find a few people who will buy us enough drinks to satisfy ourselves. Do you agree?" She asked with a smile before spotting out a few people who may end up with holes in their pockets because of the two ladies.

Eli smirked and said,"Definitely." She smiled and held up her drink, gesturing a cheer. The two tapped their glasses together and Eli took a big gulp of her liquor. The sensation was amazing and sent shivers down her spine.
