Gender: Female
Age: 63 (claims to be 25)
Nationality: Nilgaardian
Background: Genevieve was born into a noble Nilfgaardian family, which is why when she was discovered to be a source at a young age, she was quickly enrolled into the nearest academy to instruct her properly. She learned quickly, being adequately skilled in pyromancy while secretly finding where her magic talents were rooted: necromancy. Curious, Genevieve began to study the forbidden branch of magic, that was until she was caught by Cynthia. Instead of having her expelled and brought to the proper authorities for her study of necromancy, she decided to blackmail the young woman in the form of a leash. From then on, Cynthia enjoyed exploiting the younger sorceress. Forcing her into all manner of things from public spotlights, private deals, and even her bed on more than one occasion.

When Nilfgaard began to advance its militant position and Emhyr searched for a new court magician, many sorceresses were vying for the spot by his side. Yet when Yennefer of Vengerberg took the job, Cynthia took it rather harshly. In a bought of revenge she set loose a curse with the intent to get back at the other sorceress, but it backfired horribly. Turning into a plague that ravaged the Nilfgaardian countryside. With her plan foiled and a potentially huge target on her back, she used Genevieve as a scapegoat and took her leave into a distant country.

Once the public, and more important the Lodge, became aware of what Genevieve studied, she was seen as the obvious culprit. But as they investigated the matter and compared evidence with how clueless the young sorceress was on the matter, it soon became apparent what had really transpired. Unable to execute an innocent, but the majority still seeing her as an accomplice to the crimes committed by her “mentor,” she was quietly sentenced to work as a nurse in various shitholes around the empire with a dimeritium amulet that she would be unable to remove.

Ironically, she loved it.

It now having been a couple years since her trial, Julia, as she would be going by, had been visiting Toussaint when vampires flooded the streets and massacred those who weren’t able to defend themselves. With a desire to help, she went directly to where a field hospital had been set up the next morning, asking where she could be of use.

Fun Exploitable Things
  • The leash is still very much in effect, and occasionally Cynthia likes to remind her of that. Brief images, nightmares, sensations, and more are all things that haunt her.
  • While she finds death and necromantic arts fascinating, she’s often repulsed, horrified, and ashamed of her true feelings about it due to Cynthia’s conditioning of her mental state. Therefore even if her amulet was removed, she would be unlikely to use her abilities.
  • She wears a rather recognizable dimeritium amulet that is enchanted to where it hurts her whenever she attempts to remove it. Only others can be take it off of her, but of course certain individuals will instantly be notified if that were to ever occur. Because of this constant contact with dimeritium, she not only is unable to use magic, but has grown physically frail. Lack of strength, bouts of sickness, and more are all unfortunate side effects that plague her as a result. But should she be allowed to recover, she might find herself more resistant to its effects the next time its use should be attempted.
  • A stern, nearly emotionless, authoritative front is what Cynthia cultivated out of her. It’s hardly who she is and could easily shatter under enough pressure.
  • She despises Nilfgaard despite it being her homeland, but is unable to escape any sort of racism due to a noticeable accent and physical features.

Name: Stahler Hust of Leydan
Gender: Male
Age: 29
Nationality: Kaedweni
Appearence: https://cdnb.artstation.com/p/assets/images/images/007/720/165/medium/feng-hh-.jpg?1508079760
Background:
A descendant of a knightly family in Kaedwen who survived the sacking of Fort Leyda but were stripped of their title due to accusations of cowardice and failure to protect their fiefdom, Stahler Hust was raised to earn back the family's good name by joining the Dun Banner, a light cavalry unit rising to prominence within the kingdom's army. Whilst he was quite young at the time (just barely 20), since his father raised him for combat since infancy he quickly became a respected comrade at arms in the unit and his luck started looking up. During King Henselt's incursion into Aedirn, the Dun Banner was betrayed by their own supposed ally, the sorceress Sabrina Glevissig. Stahler to this day bears the mental scars from witnessing allies and foes alike engulfed in the firestorm of the sorceress' doing. Whilst he didn't give up serving the cause of Kaedwen, he became an outspoken advocate of anti-mage sentiments, and started developing conspiracy theories about how the mages are behind every horrible thing that happens in the world. Past the summit of Loc Muine, the death of his monarch and the invasion of Nilfgaard, however, forced him to heavily reconsider his priorities. Unwilling to bow to foreign occupants of either North and South, he became a freelancer mercenary, and continues to be one to the present day since Kaedwen's independence has not been restored. Once a firm idealist, now a cynical and grumpy sell-sword, Stahler recently received an unusual offer from a mysterious new employer, concerning magicians - the sort of people he reviles still...

Fun facts to exploit:
- has nightmares about the battle in Aedirn infrequently.
- suffers from pyrophobia (not very appearent with small fires, but very apparent with big ones)
- intentionally let his beard grow out and leaves it largely unkempt, thinking it makes him look more mature and authoritative. If he were to shave it, he would look several years younger.
- he has a beaver hat, a keepsake from his days at the Dun Banner. Most people find it ridiculous, but he's clinging to it, commentary be damned.
- he doesn't talk about his noble heritage, thinking it's meaningless. And yet he still gets jumpy if people slander his origins.
