His real name is unknown the name given to him by bandits and cannibals is Wynter. He is respected by the cannibal tribes feared by the bandit gangs of the wasteland. Because very few bandits have survived an encounter with Wynter he is spoken of as a myth or legend and is often referred to as the Phantom of the wasteland

Axel was born to a bandit tribe where he escaped from at the age of 16 after a disaster wrecked the now desolate encampment. He was separated from his family
and comrades since that incident. They are still missing. Axel thinks them dead to cope with his loss. Now, he roams the wasteland with his old habits of stealing and
uses his speed and stealth to do so. He is of average strength not showing any noticeable outlines of muscle.
