The plane had a thirty minute delay, but Soyre was glad. She needed to get her papers together, book her stay, and plan what she would do. She went to Paris on a limb, not having a set plan. Irvine had nothing for her. Life was perfect, too perfect. A dystopian utopia, if you must. Everything was planned, everything was laid out for her. But now that she has her freedom, she was unsure what to do. She didn't mind, though. She always knew how to find her way.

Buried in her notebook, she didn't immediately react when her seatmate nudged her. "We're leaving, mate." Soyre thanked him with a smile and let him through. Her belongings were still scattered, which she regretted leaving out in the first place. The line for the exit had clogged-up anyways, which relieved Soyre until she had to get in it. Once she finally left the plane, she felt free. Free from the the confinement of the plane, but also free from the world she had left behind.

Soyre found a cab almost immediately. Where she wanted to go, she didn't know, and asked the cab driver to drive to the nearest mall. She would decide her stay there, and maybe pick up an English-French dictionary. She had learned Spanish in her high school years, and picked up a few things of French, but she would never be able to navigate through the city with her current knowledge. "Merci," she said to the driver before leaving the cab. She entered the mall, letting her feet carry her away.

Mikey had arrived to Paris an hour ago. Ever since she had gotten off the plane she hadn't moved, she placed herself in the waiting area with her head down. She hated planes. And to sit in the plane for ten hours was a pain. When she felt the nausea die down she headed her way to baggage claim. She's never been out of the country or out of the state of Washington for that matter. It was weird for her to be somewhere that she'd only dreamed of.

She chased her bag around the carousel for a few minutes before a handsome, young man caught it and passed it to her. She quickly thanked him and headed her way out to passenger pick-up. A friend of hers said that she had ties in Paris and that she would be able to hook her up with a place to stay. She could finally start her life all over again, without any troubles. Before heading out of the airport she heads to a small cafe, grabbing hot cocoa with a small cake. She also didn't like airplane food.

She called for a cab but it took a while, definitely since other people would take the one she called for. Soon she was in the warm enclosed vehicle on her way to the place she was going to stay. "A fresh new start." She whispered to her self as her new surroundings blurred by.

---

She arrived to the small apartment building named French Quarter. She stared at the place in disbelief, it looked like a lot of bad things happened in here.

"Maybe it looks better in the inside." She sighed to herself and boy was she wrong.

After purchasing the English-French Dictionary, Soyre took refuge in a small, corner cafe. She had done research on living spaces and stumbled upon a highly rated boarding house not too far from the city. She booked a room, and decided to head there immediately.

The cab informed her that Burgensielle Boarding was only to be reached through a narrow pathway in which cars were unable to pass through, even smart cars.. It was a quaint path and she enjoyed walking through it. The buildings towered over her, flowers greeted her, and the smell of pastries had warmed her. 'I'm so glad I spent two hours searching' she thought, knowing that whatever place she stayed with this setting, she would love.

And that's when she saw it, Burgensielle Boarding. It was a connected household connected by a small, glass bridge. The house was more modern than the other buildings. She was both glad yet disappointed. She knocked on the door, a white wooden door that seemed to have had many knocks in its lifetime. 'Please don't be a nutcase' she thought, wondering how an amazing place like this could be so cheap.

Immediately Mikey pulls out her phone and dials her "friend." She was not going to stay at a beat out apartment complex that was miles outside of the beautiful city of Paris. She waited a while as the phone rang before realizing that it was about 2 in the morning in Seattle. She groaned and stomped her foot. She begins to walk toward where her room was to be, but when she hears a squishy noise as she continues walking she looks down. She had stepped in a roach.

I am so out of here. She thought as she quickly made her way down the hallway. When she made it in, she slammed the door and took a look around. She wasn't going to lie, with a few renovations the small studio could look nice. Maybe nice enough for someone to live in, but one look at the sketchy neighbourhood and she was running out of there. She walked into the large space that seemed to be the living room and placed her suitcase on the floor, putting herself on it. She pulled out her phone and turned on the hot spot, soon pulling out her laptop.

She went to google and searched up, 'cheap places to live in Paris.' From the results she had received she knew that it was going to be a long day.

Due to her impatience, Mikey had given up thirty minutes in the search of a new home. She was beginning to get hungry again so she grabbed her bags and headed out the small apartment. On her way out she placed the key on the front desk. I may not have a place to stay, but there is no way in hell I'm staying here. She thought to herself, hoping to find a place to eat and a better and clean place to stay.

Leaving the apartment building, she begin walking, to where, she didn't know. But she could see the Eiffel Tower and she just headed herself that way.

Carmen's plane landed an hour late cause they flew off course. She sighed as she quickly got up and ran to grab her rectangle suitcase and headed out the door "Taxi!" She yelled then smiled. She knew French off the back of her hand "Pouvez-vous me prendre pour le centre commercial le plus proche?" She asked and the taxi nodded. She hopped and waited until the car stopped to the mall

Mikey somehow arrived to the Eiffel Tower, placing herself on the grass as she stared at the sky. She was really tired and didn't understand why leaving home was so hard. She had prepared ahead, but everything still seemed wrong.

The only things she needed to do was find a place to stay, get to the school, find a job. It didn't need to be so hard. Mikey had already applied to the Ferrandi culinary school and she knew where it was, her classes began next week. She still had to find a bakery to work at, but at the pace she was at for finding a house, it was going to be a while.

She sat up at looked around, up to the Eiffel Tower and then down again. The sun was about to meet with he horizon and she still hadn't done anything. If she told her parents this now, they would have her come back home. And she just couldn't let that happen.

Motivated at the thought of running away from her parents, she gets back up and grabs her baggage. walking toward the buildings that clustered behind the tower.

The cab stopped in front of the mall "Wait here" she said then hopped out and bought a chocolate cookie then came back into the car

"Do you know where the Burgensielle boarding is?" she asked and the driver nodded "Merci" she smiled as the cab started to drive again. Her eyes widen as she looked at the beautiful scenery outside her window, a smile formed on her lips formed. "This isn't bad as I thought" she thought to herself

The cab stopped at a clustered building. Her smiled lost it's curve "Is this it?" she asked the man nodded. She took a deep breathe "Merci' she plastered a smile and got her suitcase out of the boot then headed for the large wooden door

Mikey had hitched a ride in a cab and tried her weak French, asking if the driver could take her to the nearest bakery. As the cab moved on Mikey just stared down at her phone hoping that someone would call her. She had just arrived to Paris and it wasn't even starting well. She just hoped that school would be easier and better.

When the cab began to slow down, Mikey looked, getting angry with herself for not enjoying the sights. "I'm in Paris for fuck's sake. Enjoy it." She whispered to herself as the cab stopped. She quickly thanked and paid the driver as she made her way out. She entered the small bakery. the smell of all types of pastries filling her nose.

She walked up to the front desk and asked the cashier for an application. He spoke fluent English, so it was easier than the taxi driver. She sat at the seat in the far corner and pulled a pen from her purse, easily breezing through the application. She stared at the next page as she saw the theme of it:

Current Address.

She frowned at the words. She couldn't believe it. Mikey had no place to stay, so she just ignored it. She needed to get this job.
