It is Monday morning, the sky is a deep shade of blue, the sun is out and everyone is enjoying the start of summer vacation. While the tourists and locals enjoy the nice summer day, the crime never stops, nor does it sleep, officers, are on the job making sure these people are kept in line and that the law-abiding citizens kept safe and are able to enjoy their summer with a smile on their face.
Officer Thomas Newman is on patrol in his newly issued model dodge charger patrol unit. Thomas is one of those men that wasn't lacking in weight or muscles but wasn't brimming with them either. His whole life he had been taller than most of the kids in his school, standing at an impressive 6 feet and 4 inches, he was not a man to be messed with. All his life, all he had ever been to as far as schooling goes, were all-girls schools, this was due to multiple errors with his transfer papers claiming him as female rather than male. He still curses the system for having made such a bad error in judgment, and never trying to correct the problem, while most males his age would gawk and just be generally impressed, there was one thing they always wondered about him and that constant burning question, when asked about his schooling days, is "dude, why the heck are you still single?" and his constant answer to the question every single time was "you do realize the whole world doesn't revolve around girls right? There are other things to keep someone occupied besides girls, even if they are cute." He was a rather seasoned officer of the force, he was considered the senior man on the shift and was constantly being asked to take new rookies along for the ride, but he was not gonna take the risk of getting himself or his partner killed, because his rookie didn't wanna listen to what he was telling him.
Besides, he didn't want just any girl to be his girlfriend, he wanted that special someone, someone that understood him and clicked with him as far as interests and stuff like that went. He was waiting for the right girl, besides, what girl would wanna go for him as their pick of a boyfriend, he wasn't exactly the standard of hot and sexy want, seriously, he wished he could be at that level. It was lucky that he did not have to share this vehicle with anyone otherwise he would never get away from the question and it would just make him even more annoyed whenever asked about that specific question then he already was. He stopped like usual at the stop light and just waited for it to turn green so that he could move on, checking out the street as per usual to make sure that no one was trying to commit a crime right in front of him because that would be bad for them, no doubt about it.
Just then his unit was hailed:
"Central - 2-Adam-45"
"2-Adam-45, go ahead central"
"2-Adam-45, 2-Adam-45, A 415 Family Dispute there now, 2188 W Sunset Blvd, Apartment 3, Reporting party reports shouts and screaming and possible shots fired coming from inside the residence. Unknown description of subjects, code 3 incident number 0845 already 0822"
"2-Adam-45, attach me, I'm 10-97 (responding) code 3 to the call."
"2-Adam-45 10-4, 10-97 code 3 to the 415 Family"
Thomas racked the radio back into its holder on the scanner and slammed the lights and sirens on his control panel and pulled out of his place in line for the light and just gunned it to the house going lights and sirens blaring. He hoped he wasn't too late and hoped more than that, that he didn't have to shoot anyone with his sidearm. That would be a very bad day for anyone involved.
