The Player▼
This boy is charming and cocky; he's the neon city lights flickering in the dark, the bitter taste of vodka on a tongue, and the flutter in your chest when you're around your crush. He's the popular jock that every high school has; everyone loves him but anyone in their right mind knows he's a d*ck. He's arrogant and self-focused but also personable and funny. His secret stems from the moment he hurt somebody and it scars him to this day. He falls in love with The Misfit.

Lufian Dull

Lufian's hands gripped the rubbery steering wheel. The window to his left stood open halfway, letting in a warm breeze. The air rolled over his face and ran through his hair, sweeping it back. The scent of earthy soil and pine-needles filled the car, mixing with the smell of potato chips and sweat. Behind him, his friends giggled, chattered, and scrolled on their phones. A pop song from the radio played in the background. The boy's eyes glanced at the clock: 6:24 P.M blinked back at him in red letters. He moved his eyes back to the dirt-road in front of him. Trees surrounded the car on both sides, their branches swooping down as if they were trying to attack the maroon van. A brown log cabin appeared in the distance. Four hours of driving and they were finally here-- in the middle of nowhere surrounded by woods and nature. "Guys," he said, glancing back over his shoulder, "looks like we've arrived!" He turned back to the road, his lips forming a grin. The boy licked his lips, halting the van with a gentle bump in front of their temporary home. "Who's ready to get lit?" Lufian hollered.

Wendy Vande

Wendy sat in the row behind the driver's seat, her eyes staring at the world blur past them out the window. Everything swirled together to form a palette of greens, browns, and greys. It kind of looked like they were in Pennsylvania or Maine. She'd been to both, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Bar Harbor, Maine-- to be exact. But in those places she had felt giddy and excited, like a child at an amusement park. Now, the girl felt anxiety growing in her stomach. It felt wrong being in her home state again. It was weird being surrounded by all of her friends after travelling for the past year. How could she explain where she'd been? How would they understand? At least the nature's pretty. She twirled a blonde strand of hair around her finger. A soft jolt shook her from her thoughts. In front of the van stood a log cabin. Her body screamed no, to leave, to ask Lufian to turn around so she could escape, to run and hide to somewhere new, somewhere without people she knew or places she'd been. Instead, the girl swung open the door. She stepped into the fresh air and invited her friends to do the same.

The Misfit▼
This boy doesn't fit in; he's the moon gleaming against a dark sky, the sound of a skateboard hitting pavement, and the feeling of rain drops falling onto skin. He's kind of weird, but the good kind of weird. He's quirky and lovable. He's creative and tends to think outside of the box. He's a problem solver. His secret is related to his family. He falls in love with The Player.

A quiet stream bubbled in the distance as Luke turned his head to shield his face from a breeze that was bringing in the grassy smell of the field he was lying in. Dappled shadows of a overhanging willow patterned his face as he breathed in the scent of the wind. He twitched, completely relaxed in this peaceful sanctuary of peace and warmth. Drifting away in the song of the stream. Then... "Get lit?!" Luke's stormy eyes snapped open. A soft gasp escaped as he stared around in panicked. The field? The stream? Then, he remembered. The trip. Shifting a cramped leg, a sharp pain blossomed in his thigh. He stifled a groan and reached beside him to take out the pencil which had just stabbed him. It was just as well that Lufian's shout had awoken him from his pleasant dream. If he hadn't the pencil would have eventually. He looked out the window from the back of the car. A sturdy log cabin peeked out from the thick foliage of the forest. They were here.
