History
The elves have nearly died out, and Tayath is nothing like it used to be in the past: A prospering continent ruled by justice and laws, a place where everyone was supposed to be equal, where politics were destined to better the life of everyone, where the trade was flourishing and money was not a problem. Tayath used to be a place where you'd love your children to grow up where fairytales and legends originate, and where the state of scientific knowledge was progressing faster and faster. We don't know what living in heaven must be like, but Tayath was bringing the elves nearer to it in every way possible. Until Ilthuryn took the crown, and wanted everything to be better. He wanted us to be richter, the trade to be faster and most important: our territory to be bigger. He used propaganda to set us against what might be the darkest creatures living upon earth: They used to be Elves themselves, but have been pulled towards the dark side. We called them Chatrir which means nightmare in our language.
They live from the fear and despair of other people, they love to torture and to kill. Still, the elves and the Chatrir made up a contract which promised peace between both of the races, and they might be cruel, but still stick to rules. Ilthuryn deluded them and attacked them from ambush. But things did not ended well as you might have already guessed. The Chatrir summoned one of their greatest gods whose name nobody really knows, but they call her G'har. She appears like the most beautiful elve you might have ever seen, but actually, she is cruelst and most powerful creature on earth, and she adoreswar and wealth even if she will never be truly satisfied. It was the ghastliest war which has ever been fought out. Most of the elves where killed in this war, the rest of them did either escape the lands or would be brought into the camps of the Chatrir. Nobody knows what they would do to them, but none of them did ever return.
Children cried after their parents, brave soldiers returned blinded or with missing limbs. Only children, traumatized soldiers and the elders had survived, and the following time would be the hardest, and kill of almost half of the rest us. The Chatrir would seek our camps, take our harvest, kill everyone in their way and destroy our houses. It took years and years until only one single town was able to withstand their power, and they were finally in a mood to negotiate a new contract. But they had learned, and would created a new rule to make sure things stayed in place: Every year, two of our best and bravest children had to be chosen and abandonned in the lands of the Chatrir. 100 years have passed since the contract was made, and the children had been left to be hunted down in their lands. But the elves in this town are stronger and tougher than you might expect us to be.
We live in the woods of Cryhl, one of our war gods, and he puts us to the proof every day. The animals in here are stronger, the trees are bigger and you can rarely spot the sunlight if you are surrounded by them. Our town is located on a small forest glade, and we are always on the scout. In six days, a new selection has to be made, and I hope I won't be among them. It is my last year as a child, because in two months I will have my new age ceremony, but our fortune goddess Srynumt is not with everyone. But maybe, this year things change, because there is still a prophecy about six elves which will find the peace for both of our races. Two of them from our side, two of them born with the Chatrir and two of them rogues.

Species

Elves | Elves are a very noble and proud species. Overall they are very intelligent and nifty when it comes to technology, magic, art and music which is also what they are most proud of. They live in a very sophisticated and thought-out society that is quite similar to ours. Just like us, they can own jobs such as architects, technologist, musicians, politicans, the list could go on and on.An elf's body can get quite tall measuring about 6ft on an average when fully grown. Other then that they look very human-like aside from the familiar pointy ears and very delicate features. Their skin can involve light and dark tones which mostly refers to the city their family was born in, because the natural circumstances affected the color of their skin. An average lifespan can last around 300 years which is a very long time. However, they are already fully physically grown at the average age of 17.Other than a knack for cultural activities and an intelligent ecosystem, elves are also very agile, dexterous, fast runners and climber on an average. Yet, when correctly trained at youth, they can also get quite bulky, heavy and strong, but when you see an elf like that, they are most probably soldiers. Like all other species on Tayath, they believe in the existence of the seven gods and pray to each of them together once a month at the gathering.

Chatrir | The Chatrir are a demonic species that was created by the goddess G’har. It is told that they once where elves themselves yet their creation caused the loss of their soul which made them into the now dark and merciless creatures. The Chatrir are very aggressive and intelligent when it comes to fighting strategies, but otherwise quite dumb.
Their physique still reminds of an elf's one. The most striking feature are two black and crooked horns that mark the top of their head. Adding to that, their eyes are completely black and their skin is so thin that the first layer of veins with the black blood clearly visible. Their figure is a distorted reflection of an elves body. Some might look more human-like with a slightly hunched backs and longer bony limps others might even look like insects with multiple legs and arms reaching out of their body and around the ground like a spider. There are different variations of what a Chatrir might look like, but
The bite of a Chatrir is poisonous and will either kill an elf with a 50 percent chance or turn them into one of themselves. Among elves the latter one is the most dreaded outcome. Only the Dhary are able to withstand a Chatrir's bite.

Dhary | Dhary's are the blessed fighter's of the gods. They were once elves turned into Chatrir that were then blessed with a kiss of a god to turn back into an elvish creature. Amongst elves the are seen with respect and fright at the same time. They have a status that might be similar to the one of a demigod. Whenever a Dhary enters a room of elves everyone can feel their godly presence and some might even bow into front of them. They are the

Even if their figure is similar to the elves, yet they look more crooked with a round back and long bony limps.
The sole joy in the life of a Chatrir is seeing other creatures in pain and maybe playing tricks on each other. Other than that, they of course want their goddess G’har to rule to rule over the continent Tayath.
