Funnily enough, AJ will often still give tours at the museum she used to work at during school. She loves to pass on new knowledge and inspire others to love art as much as she does. It helps her pass the time and gives her a little extra pocket change, even if she doesn't need it.

[div class=tag]fears[/div]
AJ is afraid of heights. Anything high up will scare her so much. Going on a Ferris wheel? No thank you. Roller coasters? Nuh uh. If it involves being high in the air, count her out.

[div class=tag]history[/div]

Ae-jung was four when her family moved from Seoul, South Korea to Chicago, Illinois. Her father was transferred to start a new branch of the company he worked for. So the family, consisting of her parents, her older brother, and herself, packed up and moved to accommodate her father's promotion. The family was always well off, not exactly rich but not poor by any means. Both parents had high expectations for their children. Knowing that their children were intelligent, they always pushed for their excellence. In a way, Abby had always appreciated that her parents thought highly of her. That was until she found her passion. At a very young age, Ae-jung had shown artistic talent. Her art teacher in 8th grade said her work was extraordinary. Not only was she good at it, she loved it. She loved to paint her heart out. She spent hours painting on canvas. Buying her own paint supplies since her parents saw no need to get them for her.

Her parents still pushed her to go to medical school or to law school. The pressure became immense her senior year of high school. They started applying for colleges for her and telling her she needed to study hard. But she didn't want to go to school to become a doctor or a lawyer. Ae-jung wanted to be an artist. She wanted to create for a living. When she had told her parents this, they laughed at her, thinking it was a joke. Then they yelled at her when the realized she was very serious. They told her that being an artist wasn't a job. That she would never make it. They told her that she would live a poor life. They told her that if she went to art school that they would never pay for it and she would have to make her own way. So she did. Ae-Jung applied to the Chicago College of art for Fine Arts. She was immediately accepted.

Going to art school was the best decision of her life. She loved the fun and exciting atmosphere. Her parents weren't breathing down her neck, even if they had slightly disowned her. Abigail was happy, following her passion and allowed to be as free as she wanted. In order to pay her way through college, she got a job at a museum as a receptionist. Ae-jung had a good group of friends who liked to go out fairly often. There was one college party where she had been ditched by the majority of her friends and was left alone. That was the night she met Hak Yoo-jin. The pair instantly hit it off. She couldn't help but develop a crush on him. He was just so annoyingly great. So eventually the pair started to date.

Ae-jung fell madly in love with Yoo-Jin. Although she will never admit it, being with Yoo-jin were the best years of her life. She was the absolute happiest during that time. He completed her life, he made her feel whole. That was until he was torn away from her. Yoo-Jin was, and still is, an amazing dancer. He caught the attention of a lot of companies, including one of the best international performance teams in the world. She couldn't hold him back, this was his dream. She could only imagine how she would feel if she had been given an offer like his and never took it because of him. AJ would rather give him up than have him resent her for the rest of their lives. Even if they ended things, it wasn't because she didn't love him. No it was because she loved him more than herself.

They continued to be friends after that. Heck, they knew everything about each other. They were best friends as much as they were lovers. Then things changed again. Yoo-Jin's sister passed away. She knew how devastated he would be. She rushed to his side to comfort him and help him through this hard time. But she feels that they made a mistake. They slept together. After the night they spent together, he pushed her away. Ae-Jung could only see that as the cause. Again, she felt heart broken over him. They hadn't spoken since.

About a year later, she met Daniel. Ae-jung had started her own small free-lance company. She did a lot of portraits and work for offices. Daniel Cartwright was a successful young CEO of his own company. He was opening an office in Chicago and wanted a local artist to add decor to the space. So he hired Abigail. He was very nice and a gentleman. When she was finished, he even gave her a big tip. A few weeks later he contacted her again to do a project for his home office. Then he hired her a third time for some other painting he wanted. He finally confessed after they met up in person to exchange his third order that the reason he had hired her so many times was because he really liked her. They had spent quite a few hours on video call to talk about inspiration and things like that. They had somewhat gotten to know each other over the past few months and Ae-Jung thought, what the heck, may as well date him.

That was 4 years ago. They have since moved into a giant apartment in the city, Daniel's company is booming, and Ae-jung is finding a lot of success as an artist. Her parents are really happy with her decision in marriage mate. Abby has finally seemed to redeem herself in her parent's opinion. He recently proposed to her about 6 months ago and the couple has yet to set a date. He has been rather distant, for that past year his distance has grown. They don't talk very often because he is often gone on business. But Ae-Jung knows she still loves him. She's tried so hard up till this point to keep them together, how can she give up now?

[div class=tag]education[/div]
Masters in Fine Arts and Bachelor's in Art History

[div class=tag]relationships[/div]
Lee Kwang-Sik and Min-Jung|Parents (61 & 57): The three hadn't really gotten along when she was a young adult. They saw her path in life as careless and selfish. They cut her off monetarily when she went off to college. While they did contact her and have her over, their time together was mostly filled with nagging. It was only recently, since she's been with Daniel, that her parents have softened. They love their future son-in-law, especially that he is rich. They say she's made up for all the suffering she put them through when she was younger because of him.

Alexander Lee|Brother (34)- Alex and Abby have always seemed to get along. They weren't particularly close, but they were always friendly. Alex went the path their parents wanted him to take and went to school to be a doctor. Now he is a General Surgeon. She thought he could do no wrong in her parents' eyes until he got a divorce from his wife about two years ago. The two have a 7 year old and a 4 year old, both boys.

Daniel Cartwright|Fiance (32)- Daniel and AJ started out in a very loving, passionate relationship. Once the honeymoon phase was over, though, Ae-jung has felt a little forgotten about. She knows he's busy, she understands that. The fact that he proposed to her seemed like a good sign, that he still loves her and wants to be with her. Part of her doesn't know if that's true. The other half doesn't allow her to think that way.

Hak Yoo-Jin|Ex (age)- They haven't spoken in years. AJ knows the feelings she had for him are gone, but he will always hold a special place in her heart. When you truly love someone, that tends to be the case. He was the first person she fell in love with (and also the first person to break her heart). She wonders how he is doing on occasion. They used to be very close, even after the break up. She honestly misses his friendship.

[div class=tag2]strengths[/div] most of yoo-jin's strengths comes from his talent and occupation of dancing. physically, he has great flexibility, co-ordination and agility. his passion has allowed him to manage his weight, eat healthily and stay on top of his fitness. socially, he has learned how to observe others and analyze their actions to improve on himself. alongside that, he is also capable of leaving his comfort zone and trying out new things to discover hidden likes, hobbies and skills. yoo-jin enjoys listening to other's opinions and is often very reliable, allowing others to count on him to see things through. he is charismatic in that he knows how to charm and capture other's attention; picking up on moods to allow him to shift his own tone and manners to reflect theirs. [div class=tag2]weaknesses[/div] often incredibly selfless, yoo-jin has a bad habit of burying himself in hopeful promises and strives to help others with their problems, almost making them his own. failing to help somebody will undoubtedly make him feel bad. his self-esteem fluctuates quite often and he tends to ask others for criticism more out of insecurity rather than out of confidence, always wondering what he could do better. without realising, yoo-jin frequently finds himself overworking to the point that he physically tires himself out which results in him staying cooped up in his home to sleep in or have a day to himself. [div class=tag]to dance.[/div] yoo-jin’s parents were never incredibly wealthy, but were living comfortably. a year after they settled, his father and mother partnered with his uncle and aunt to open a korean chicken and beer cafΓ© called β€œbonchon chicken” which translated to β€œmy hometown chicken”. they started off incredibly slow, but after some time, they were doing good enough to keep a roof over their heads and provide yoo-jin and yoo-ju with all the right necessities. but, it wasn’t until their ninth birthday where yoo-ju received a card with the silhouette of a ballerina printed on it, and he was utterly entranced by it. he wanted to know more about it, and so he researched all about ballet and where he could learn. eventually, his mother arranged for him to take ballet classes, along with his sister. the moment he stepped into the studio for the first time was like walking into a dream. the music playing, kids dancing, laughter and the aura of friendliness caught his attention immediately despite how nervous he felt. the dance supervisor took him by the hand, and explained everything. yoo-jin loved every second of it, but his sister on the other hand, did not. she dropped out a couple of months in when she realised it wasn't her fort. [div class=tag]that one party.[/div] it wasn’t until college came around, and that’s when things began to go slightly downhill for the hak siblings. yoo-jin was so hung on being popular and the best dancer on his course that he hadn’t realised his sister was going down a rough route. she had involved herself with the wrong crowd, spending her nights partying and her days getting high under the bleachers. it was one particular party that changed yoo-jin’s life for the good and bad. he met lee ae-jung, who caught his eye with her innocent beauty from the start, alone in the crowd. it was evident that the two had a strong connection and that didn’t hold yoo-jin back from asking her out on a date. but later that same night, yoo-jin had caught his sister, heavily under the influence and injecting drugs into her system, with a male very much older than her with clear bad intentions. as much as he wanted to do something, stop her from making such terrible decisions – they fought, but to no avail, stubborn yoo-ju continued to do whatever she wanted. [div class=tag]follow your dreams.[/div] time passed, yoo-jin had spent most of his days practising, working on his dancing, making sure that his loving girlfriend, ae-jung, was happy, along with his parents. of course, he’d check in on his sister every now and then, who was doing a great job at hiding her secrets away from their parents. yoo-jin simply wanted nothing to do with it, knowing well that he would just cause problems by interfering. when it had finally come to signing with a company, yoo-jin felt conflicted. he had managed to catch the interest of companies from all over the world with his performances and auditions, but he was unsure where to go and what to choose. staying home with his family and ae-jung, who he had fallen deeply in love with, had made him want to stay. he could picture himself getting married to ae-jung and starting a life with her forever. but, he simply couldn’t throw his dreams away of joining one of the best international performance teams in the world. so, he left. [div class=tag]bittersweet hellos and goodbyes.[/div] yoo-jin tried his best to stay in touch with ae-jung, even despite telling her that he didn’t think a long-distance relationship was what they needed. he’d often video call with her to check up on her and make sure that things were well back at home. over time, video calls eventually turned into slow messages as yoo-jin’s professional life began to get busier. until one day, his father called to tell him that his sister had passed away from drug abuse. yoo-jin felt shocked. he bought a ticket for the first flight home and it wasn’t long before he was watching them bury his sister into the ground. luckily, he had ae-jung’s comfort to rest on, but with all his heightened emotions, he couldn’t hold himself back from letting his love for ae-jung unravel. he kissed her, and she kissed back. they end up sleeping together and the next morning, yoo-jin feels nothing but more regret, because of his sister and having mistakenly rekindled his flame with ae-jung. he grabs his things and leaves before ae-jung can awaken. he pushes her away and they never speak again.
