  i. in a world where you have to provide for yourself, anyone would learn not to be entirely dependant on others to keep them on their feet. keeping in mind that akina had also been left alone as a young teenager, she has had to fend for herself in every foreseeable way. she's very much a person who is overly independent. akina's not exactly adverse to taking help, she simply just doesn't want to rely on someone who may be there one day and not the next. she relied fully on three people in her life, and it absolutely sucked when they were gone. she never wants to feel that pain again.
  
  ii. even though akina appears to be a slightly steely shut-off person, it's actually quite the opposite. she's got one fiery personality. she is rather passionate and has a short fuse at times. she gets into a lot of arguments and never really lets up. if she feels someone is doing her wrong or judging her lifestyle, then she has no issue speaking up for what she believes in. she’s always got that spark.
  
  iii. akina has always been particularly hard to persuade to do things she necessarily would rather not do. she’s had so much drastic change in her life that she likes things to stay as is, and her opinions are no exception. she is very stubborn and will stick true to her stance. to those who are used to getting what they want and having their demands met, akina easily frustrates them and tests their patience.
  
  iv. akina has always had a natural curiosity. whether it be indoors or outdoors, she'll always wander and explore. she has little reservation in going to look in new places, testing different foods and more, having such a venturesome nature. it’s been a knack of hers ever since she was young to find little gems of private areas which often go undiscovered by many.
  
  v. akina has the tendency to be slightly savage with a few selectives. and although she wants to help people in anyway she can, she just cannot help but judge people simply by their appearance. growing up, she lived with people critisising her, and she caught onto that. though she might not always be trusting, she is one of the most caring. it takes a lot for someone to gain akina's trust. she doesn't let them see what she's really like and the dark parts of her life. however, when she does trust someone, she is fiercely loyal to them and it is incredibly hard to lose that. she may not always want their help, but she'd willingly do anything for them. whatever they need.

  matsuo shirane was a seventeen-year-old student when she got pregnant with akina. unfortunately, she passed away shortly after giving birth to her. there were complications over who would take the child under their name, and eventually akina was left with her grandparents, muto and ebina shirane. her birth father, being seventeen too, had wanted nothing to do with her. and the name shirane was forever tarnished because of matsuo's early pregnancy.
  
  for the majority of her childhood, akina was more interested in finding out who her birth parents were, rather than finding out who she was. any child was clever enough to point out that her grandparents were too old to be her parents. and although akina grew up without them, she never felt like there was a part of her missing because it was her grandparents that acted as her true parents.
  
  akina was always typically quirky around new people, and if you compared her present self to her past self, anyone would be quite shocked with the difference in appearance and persona. going from a typical growing and naive school girl to a carefree and suave upcoming model was definitely a huge step for her. in a way, she believes that if not for her friends, she might have just stayed that eccentric girl, but as she aged, her feelings developed and the little crush she had on takashi in high school made her change.
  
  the signs weren't evident, as many thought she was just simply 'experimenting' whenever she'd turn up wearing a dark shade of lipstick or have her hair styled completely different. eventually, this changed from trying to impress a crush to akina wanting to feel confident about herself. and soon, she was looking more into fashion, make-up and modelling.
  
  but as she began to plan her own future, the unexpected news of tomomi leaving for a new job took quite a toll on akina. although she was happy for tomomi, and didn't show that she was upset, she completely supported her choice. little did she know that the day tomomi left, was the day that the group slowly began to part.

  — BIOGRAPHY :

  yuseph's life isn't all too exciting. his father and mother met in london when sayeda (his mother) travelled there for work purposes. his parents fell in love, and her visits from san francisco were more frequent.
  
  though it had been unplanned, sayeda soon fell pregnant with adrian's (his father) child, and it wasn't long after that adrian had packed up and moved to live in san francisco with sayeda. the two eventually got married, and gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. but due to unfinished business, adrian was called back to london. sayeda and yuseph would fly there every summer, where he eventually began to gain a small london accent. this happened for almost fourteen years, until sayeda finally had enough, because taking care of a teenager, and being pregnant with another child was quite the struggle.
  
  his father agreed to move back to san francisco, where he got to watch and experience his little daughter, maria, grow up. yuseph had nothing against his father, and was grateful to have him back by his side. though because he barely had that 'father figure' as a child, yuseph believes he lacks, in both the physical and mental department, a few manly traits.
