That sounds hella good, and gives a lot of space for extra lore. And, sure, discord would be neato.

I think that would be interesting, perhaps more grounded as opposed to fantastical, but that also takes away the ability to hand-wave away certain ideas—or, at the very least, require a sort of scientific explanation for everything. I think it would still be great though.

A lot of writers do like to take it fast, but I'm more comfortable at a slower pace—a ‘lingering’ type, if you will. Do you have any ideas what you will open the story with? Or, at least, as regards the first part of the narrative? Sounds like a bureaucratic mess indeed. I can already see...
