She studies western esotericism. It's either French or Attic Greek, and Greek doesn't seem as likely to be useful. Well, or Latin, but Bad Things happen to people who speak Latin in Lovecraft-adjacent games.

This is surreal horror rather than Lovecraft's gothic-cosmic horror. It's supposedly a great campaign, but it's not the typical CoC/Delta Green experience.

If you want a really light system, there's Cthulhu Dark for CoC and Cthulhu Deep for Delta Green. Both use a single die roll to determine the degree of success. They don't have tactical combat, so most gamers shy away from them, but they work when you have a strong plot with investigation.
I have experience in both. I find Trails better for narrative games.
