Alright, so no real pressure to do it just science people doin what science people do
Honestly, I'd say you have the base down enough to start with an interest check, given there aren't any outstanding concepts you haven't mentioned that you wanna incorporate
Coded interest checks are just interest checks like these ones Realistic or Modern - 𝕎𝕙𝕠 𝕦𝕤𝕖𝕕 𝕒𝕝𝕝 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕙𝕠𝕥 𝕨𝕒𝕥𝕖𝕣?||Reboot [currently accepting]
They're often harder to read on mobile, but they look nice.
And by history, I meant the background of the world. Like why are they making bioweapons...
'Aight
How detailed do you want the interest check to be? Coded? Noncoded? Extensive history/background or just the concept and let the players help build it up?
It depends on how much oversight you're willing to give. Groups up to 4-5-ish people tend to need less attention than the larger ones, if just because the more people there are, the more likely there is that everyone's on different pages, so to speak
Okay, so like, generally when I make a rp, I outline where the characters start, first. So what are you thinking the starting state should be in this rp? Do they know each other? What is their general life experience? Do they know there's an outside world?
Hi, yes, hello, I know I'm dredging this up from the second page, but I Don't Care because an actually GOOD magic school rp itches at my brain with such an intensity that I am begging you on my hands and knees to ping me if/when you get it up and running.
To actually. Like. Answer the...
First time in the advice forum, I think. Hello, name's Flame, I've been consumed by the HTTYD rp brainrot, and have no idea if this is a good idea, or not, and before I go through the effort of making a Interest Check for it, I want a second opinion.
The basics is a small group (4-6-ish...
Very fair.
It may have stemmed from my fear of making a "perfect" sounding character, so my immediate thought is something that'll cause friction between characters, but that's prolly just me
I tend to think of flawed characters as... like... commonly used flaws like "disloyal" or "abrasive". I consider flaws in the views of the other characters, not the user because...
Actually, Idk why I do that.
I don't know what to name it tho, lmao
Ngl, I spat this out in a fit of rambling...
...just the same as everyone else and, often, under a lot of stress. Watching a roleplayer take this nigh-flawless character and break them is just... *Chef kiss*. Perfect angst. And that one moment when they decide that they're okay with not splitting themself 100 different ways to try and...
I'm gonna write this out, but this is a me-specific thing, so like... eh
I'm Aphantasic. And what that means is; I'm completely mind-blind. My imagination graphics-card has nothing in it. This makes me quite partial to art, as IRL people's faces look very similar to each other (to me) at times...
That is fair.
I guess having a certain amount of unknown in my characters wigs me out, lol
But there is nothing more embarrassing than your preppy girl deciding to go through a poorly-executed psycho phase, lmao.
Seriously, tho, lol. Props for being able to rp a charrie right out of the gate
But then when I rp, they get unintentionally flattened because I'm writing the character traits and not the characters?
Gonna nab an example.
Example-kun's name is now Alabaster (who is one of the least fleshed out OCs there is).
He's gruff to stamp down how shy he really is, he's very...
