Demons work on a level of dominance and power. It’s a hierarchy. Horns and tails and wings and ears are symbols of prosperity and wealth. It’s how we get mates and show we’re dominant and stronger. If a horn is broken it may mean we lost a fight. If a tail is missing it means we did something shameful anough for our superiors to chop it off. Or again we lost a fight. And those born without a tail are frowned upon. Ears are sacred and sensitive parts of the demon body. A damaged ear it’s dishonorable. And lastly wings. Wings are sensitive and are a symbol of power. To lose those would be a dishonor in any way. No matter the reason for losing them.

Because we live in a dominant beats weak hierarchy we hafto be strong. And mean. With little to no emotion. Especially for someone of power in their family.
