Honestly, there's a pretty good chance that, since I'm currently the protagonist and am kind of dumb, if I run into a demon I'll accuidentally sign away my first born so it's probably better if the kid is never born.

I wonder what happens if you don't have a kid after signing away your firstborn. Does that render the contract null and void since you didn't hold up your end of the bargain.

I'd say no, because the promise to give your firstborn is still there, even if there's never a firstborn to fulfill it.

Clearly the next step now is to skip straight to your secondborn and see what happens then
